Absolutely fantastic meal here at Hickorys. Everything was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the burgers and the chicken bucket was great value. There was excellent customer service and all the servers we had had great personalities. Will definitely be back

Can't say enough good things. Greeted with a smile as we entered, The whole team and experience was fantastic, they added a couple of bits for our arrival as part of a little celebration for my wife and I that I requested, but they went the extra mile and they were all smiles as they showed us to our decorated table, even got a little surprise at the end of our meal. It was really busy, but you wouldn't have known as the whole team were smiling and making everyone feel looked after and welcome. The food was delicious, kudos to the kitchen team, you guys are flippin' smashing it. Thank you to you all for making this night perfect for us, this is exactly what we needed.

Went for a meal for hubby's birthday. They'd put a Happy Birthday placque on the table which was a lovely idea. Really good food. We had salmon & beef brisket. Very popular place, it was very busy but wasn't a long wait on food. Shout out to Reece ( Rhys?!) our server. Really friendly and helpful. He brought out a birthday donut with a big sparkly candle thing& sang happy birthday. Very nice. Definitely be back.

Went this evening for a meal with my husband & very good friends. The whole experience was awful from start to finish. I'm not a meat eater so the menu for me was limited. I chose a vegetarian burger. The bun was soggy filled with a slimy mushroom !(made my stomach turn) then I discovered a slimy hashbrown !! Processed cheese ! Side of house slaw which was white cabbage in a dressing of no description or taste ! The fries were cold. I ate the plant based burger as I was hungry, the rest of the food on my plate was not touched £16.50 !! My husband was polite & ate a little more of his half chicken. Our friends Were disappointed with the food. were not rude.we paid the bill & left. This place is ok if you eat out of a chip pan & have no taste buds

What can I say, literally the best restaurants so far in Crewe that I've been to. You pay for what you get, it just so happens what you get here is top quality, well prepared, amazing tasting food. I had the bird and beast burger and me and my friend shared some bacon bites with blue cheese dip. My friend had some ribs with maple glaze, you could just slide the ribs out, cooked to perfection. The hot sauce they have to offer was just the right amount of Scovilles to have a kick but also still enjoy the food. The drink alone would be enough for me to go back, cherry cream soda. The service was great, not just being polite but also asking what are you doing for the rest of the day is just a bit different and like they actually care. This was the first time I've been here but it won't be my last.

i'd never been here before, and we came to celebrate my grand daughter's birthday. The food was spot on. The meat was so tender. And the staff were so pleasant and helpful.We'll definitely come here again.

Updated review on 16.03.24 - Poor service on todays visit, hurried, no one checked how our food was, verging on rude when ordering. Food today was again not up to usual standard, dry, over cooked/smoked(?). Kids enjoyed the cinema and popcorn.

Wouldn't reccomend food came out cold so they took it back made a fresh one then it cake out warm so I ate a little bit and the food was horrible. Spent £160 and what a waste of money it was do not reccomend

Undercooked then overcooked a steak. Took the steak off the bill without asking. Staff very apologetic and attentive despite it being very busy as a Saturday night

We’ve been here a few times, and every time it’s been great, but I think the visit today was worth highlighting. The food was absolutely amazing and didn’t take very long at all, there was a slight mix up with one of the plates, but after mentioning this it was rectified quickly. Couldn’t ask for a better experience, this place is well worth a visit.

1st visit to Hickory’s, the welcoming desk could be better placed as it clashes with the entrance and the walkway for the waiting on staff members who then have to dodge members of the public, the overall feel of the place was noisy but everyone was enjoying themselves, staff members were excellent throughout, the service we received was outstanding, they were all very polite and accommodating. The food was nice, I think maybe we could choose better next time, it was presented well, and tasted lovely.

Very friendly and the choice of American style food was excellent and just melted in your mouth. Hmmm 👍👍🤓

We have recently moved to the area and had been recommended by people from work and it did not disappoint. Service was very friendly and the grape soda is a must. The platter was delicious and we couldn’t finish it, so we were given boxes to take home what we couldn’t finish. Will be back

Food was really good I can't complain about that, however the table was in what could only be described as a corridor and was busy so you can imagine how many people were constantly walking past. Food arrived promptly and was as usual very good. Things were going OK until it was time to pay the bill. That's when we made the discussion not to make a returning visit. A young girl gave us the bill which was £46.45 my partner paid by card without realising until moment's after the transaction went through that the girl had put the wrong amount in the Carr machine. Wrong being £65.80 !! Once informed the girl didn't apologise simply said she would get the manager. They both appeared and after a few minutes the manager came to the table laughing, yes laughing telling us that it's a bit of a blag but he would refund the £65.80 and we would have to pay the £46.45 which was our bill but wouldn't get the refund straight away. At this point we still hadn't had an apology. Wasn't till after paying again that the manager said sorry and apologised for the girl too. We will not be returning after this experience as we over heard the girl telling the manager that she had also overcharged another customer. Terrible customer service.

The setting and the service are ok. The food wasn't great though and "Their famous lemonade" is just bottled sparkling lemonade you get in the supermarket.

Lovely service as always we visited tonight for a special occasion being our 16th anniversary the chap went beyond even got us some complimentary drinks on the house which was lovely will always eat here best place in crewe cheers guys.

Absolutely furious with the service me and my partner booked a table 2 weeks prior to our arrival as we arrived we were told that our table has been taken and we would have to wait an hour maybe more because the lady at the front couldn't give us a solid time 2 weeks we have been so excited to come and try hickerys and our table was taken why make us book a table for a certain time then give it to somebody else and make us wait 1hour+ not even tried hickerys before but definitely will NOT be going back

My reason for not returning is the automatic tipping and how you are peer pressured into not doing so. the tip is automatically added.. at a rate they decide!!… and to get it removed you have to physically ask the waiter to please remove it… which is just awkward and takes a lot of confidence to do so… especially if you suffer from anxiety. In my opinion this is purposely done to put pressure on the customer to not Remove the tip… Other restaurants use the system which asks You discreetly do you want to tip yes or no… putting no pressure on the customer and not flaring up anxiety. Also it is hard enough to afford to eat out as it is with the cost of living… never mind self decided tipping amounts automatically added.

I always find it cold sat inside, so wrap up warm, food and drink is great. I guess they're busy so heat doesn't stay in when doors are open.

Lovely food with great service & atmosphere in the pub. Only downside was that we had to wait a little while for table to be available, but didn't mind at all.

The fries were hard and cold,the onion rings were greasey and hard.The magic dust potatoes ball were salty.The main meals were average .The total price for 7 without any drinks over £200

Went yesterday for late lunch. We like sitting in the bar area . The young man behind the bar was excellent, sociable and efficient. Service was excellent and the food was amazing. 10 out of ten Hickories.

Huge hickory's compared to the one near me, only negative was the waffle for the fried chicken waffle went cold quickly. Staff were attentative and pleasant. other dishes were spot on overall great experience

The food is about on par with your typical cheap pub chain but it's not cheap, you may have better luck with the simpler dishes but the ribs I had were just bad.

First time there definitely won't be my last

First visit to hickory's but definitely want to go back. Couldn't fault anything the food was delicious and the staff were so friendly.

As also the food was great except the onion rings - avoid very greasy! However the service wasn’t great, we had to ask someone to take our order, chase the food, find a member of staff for the bill and then chase again for paying. I do prefer a staff member to be a little attentive, and not leave you waiting!

Came to celebrate a joint 21st birthday today, the staff were lovely , food was great and they brought out 2 unexpected happy birthday boards with a donut and cream and a sparkler for them whilst singing happy birthday . Nice touch .

After waiting 45 minutes we’d still had no food & after seeing tables near us get food, we asked our waitress about our starters. Panic crossed her face as she apologised & left to find out what had happened. My partner & I joked about them loosing our order. Surly not! A few minutes later a manager came over to tell us there had been a blip on the till & our order hadn’t gone through to the kitchen. Apologies made, we were assured our food was now on the way. 15 mins later & an hour after we sat down, our starters arrived. Pork bites & frickles, both very good, although the batter on the frickles was very thick. Our main meals, burgers, again both great. We couldn’t however eat the extra onion rings we ordered as they were dripping in grease & the batter was far too thick. I bit into one & you couldn’t even see the onion. We left them uneaten. The bill arrived & they’d removed the starters, onion rings & 2 of the drinks off the menu due to the mix up over our order. A nice touch. Thank you. Food was good, shame about the delay.

Granddaughters birthday meal she 5yrs old and she loved it and the cinema room

Popped in for drinks and then decided to have some bar food. We were so looked after by the amazing bar staff Will, Ben and Cal. The food was great and any cocktail is available. If it’s not on the menu just ask for what you want. Cal makes the best Frozen Irish Coffee highly recommended and Will makes an incredible custard factory which is on the 2 for £12 cocktail menu on a Friday. Thanks to Ethan for the awesome table service. Swift with getting us a menu and delivering our scrummy food. Thank you guys.

Had a table booked for 7, arrived sat down served drinks then were asked to go outside in the freezing cold. Completely unsatisfied with this appaling service

First time to this restaurant, Fabulous smoke house, food was on point, portion size was so big I couldn't finish it, I went for the single smoke platter, staff informative and friendly, knew what was in the ingredients and how things taste, the ambience was just right, music not too loud so you could have a conversation without shouting across the table like some places, plentiful parking but this place was very busy even at our 845pm booking, so best book online and not just turn up on Saturday.

Birthday treat for hubbie. Lovely welcome and shown to ideal table- near radiatior as freezing outside. Our server was lovely. friendly and polite. The lad serving the food was attentive and very chatty with lovely manners. This was at 2pm on 9th Jan 24. So loved it we are going back today with a family group of seven tonight. This incuded a fussy nine year old who will only eat your hotdogs (or grandmas!) See you later.

Arrived as a family of 4 first time we've been due to been highly recommended,service was OK seems like they didn't want to be there,food came out was just OK nit the best by far,my bill arrived for £95 then a £7.10 service charge your having a laugh,I said to the lady what was it for ans she said my service,what service u took my order and bought my food. You get a wage for doing your job si please as she gave me my bill. Minus my now service charge i gave the girl £100 and the cheeky cow said ca I keep the change Won't be going again disgusting

Cracking food, had the smokehouse Platter for two and you get loads, we actually took some home. Much more kid friendly than I expected, with the play area and a great little activity set. The deep south theming is great too, they had some really cool seasonal stuff on like eggnog for Xmas. The bill was on the pricey side but you get your moneys worth, looking forward to going back.

Every visit here has been faultless, the food has always been delicious. During busier times the service can be a little slow but the food doesn’t get affected by this. The welcome popcorn is a nice little touch, the sharing platters are great and filling. The milkshakes are also very lovely. The grape soda is nice too!

Very disappointing. Took ages to be seated and the restaurant was cold, we were given a table right next to the service station so there were servers coming and going all the time. Asked what the Kansas caviar was and the waitress didn't know, which is something that you would expect them to, or for an explanation to be on the menu. The food was good but not spectacular and over priced. More interested in bums on seats than customer comfort - that table should not be there. Also saw servers decanting mayo and other sauces into the same bottles. Can understand some sauces but mayo?? How old is that mix??? Sure other people enjoyed themselves but I personally wouldn't go there again.

Staff warm,friendly and very attentive. It was 2 days prior to my Christmas birthday and staff even went out of their way to bring out a small cake with candle(unexpected but very much appreciated). Service and food was excellent and I highly recommend this amazing restaurant. Thankyou for making me feel special 😊

This was the fourth time visiting Hickory's. The food is always excellent and the atmosphere is really nice - it is always full so book first. The staff are the best ever - we've never had a miserable one! It is them that make the experience so good.

Warm welcome from the front desk, friendly and energetic staff, great customer service, and I couldn't expect more. Food was awesome, soo tasty and was really full. Couldn't do dessert, but would love to try the frozen custard next time. Would definitely recommend for a American cuisine meal and would for sure come again.

Me and my partner came here for his birthday on 29/11. We were greeted and seated by a lovely lady. The food was AMAZING. Their new thanks giving dish was Devine. Service was quick as always as well:) However the reason for the poor rating is due to what occurred around us during our night. We were sat on table 70 and our server (Tom) was training with a manager. He was doing an outstanding job and every interaction he had with us and people around us was polite and friendly. However, the way the manager training Tom spoke to him was appalling. She was “tutting” at him right next to our table, she spoke down to him and was very belittling. We could hear all of this as she was speaking to him right next to us. Maybe Tom should be training the manager on how to be polite? We are regulars at hickories and enjoy our time there and have never had a bad thing to say until today. We have never seen someone speak the way she did to an enthusiastic young man.

I love this place , all the staff are amazing , the food is amazing , the beer is good, even got a birthday doughnut for our son with a big fountain candle for no cost to us , a great place for the whole family to enjoy a meal out with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. If I was to have any " grumbles " about it some of the meals are a little small for the price but I suppose that's the price of quality and will definitely be returning . Thank you hickorys for a wonderful evening

Excellent from the moment of arrival.. spacious free car park , and then a warm welcome at the reception desk. Didn't have a reservation but they found a slot for us.. but maybe to be sure better book in advance. The service was excellent. And the food too. Which arrived hot and delicious.. definitely recommend.

The mac and cheese with brisket is better than post nut clarity and the gumbo is to die for.. 10/10 will always recommend

We normally absolutely love this place but unfortunately on this visit I was so disappointed not only with the service but also the food. I ordered the chicken wings to start, they are advertised as “full chicken wings” and every time in the past I...

We asked for a gluten free menu. Twice we were asked what we wanted, I explained still waiting for the menu. When order was given we were then told it's cooked separate from other products but the meat could still contain gluten. The starters were great no complaints. . We had the sharing platter for the main. The meat I was totally unimpressed with. The chicken was dry, and other meats tasted like they had been standing on a warmer for a while.

Ate here last night for the first time, just wanted to say the staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly. I asked for the GF menu, they were very very conscious of my needs, everything I ordered they insisted on showing me the ingredients and all my food and even my drink was marked with a flag. I’ll definitely be back xx big thanks to all the staff for a lovely meal and experience

Very average and expensive. My blueberry pancakes looked NOTHING like the pictures on the web site menu. They were meagre with a tiny amount of cream and blueberry compote for 9.50. My partner had pancakes with bacon and he said the same. Not good value...
