Hickory's Smokehouse Wilmslow in Cheshire East

You know what you are getting with a Hickorys’s, here is no exception. Great service, huge venue, busy and fun atmosphere. The staff work hard, service is quick. It’s aimed at meat eaters & whatever you get, you won’t leave hungry. It’s very pricy, even for soft drinks which are mostly ice. The food is okay, the cheese on my chicken burger left a really funny taste so I left most of it. The portions are huge but I’d prefer less and better taste. I can understand why they are full of families but it leaves a sizeable hole in your wallet. Okay food, service exceptional.

We live in between the Poynton one & Wilmslow one. It’s always a close contest between them both and how they love the rivalry they have. We were given a table but asked if we could have a booth and as always this was accommodated. Last week Poynton did superb as per my rating. This week I must say Wilmslow matched it. The lady who served us (Just don’t her name) was superb. As they always do they took the time to speak with you and like most good places advised you. Last week I had the Friday special which was outstanding. This week I had the Tuesday special which was outstanding. The short rib was amazing. So far it’s 7-6 Wilmslow since we have been keeping track. Time for Poynton to step

went for lunch Saturday and when I cut the burger in half there was a long blonde hair mingled in with the meat...disgusting!I told the waitress and she took it away and bought me another one,the manager asked me if I would like a drink while I waited and everyone else ate there's, I didn't want to make a big fuss as we had a poorly little girl with us and didn't want to spoil the day for her.The day after I sent an email to complain about it and the manager called me and said there was nothing more she could do, very disappointed as we go as a family there a lot, will not be going back.

Omg the food here is insane, quality and quantity is faultless topped with exceptional service! Was brought here for my birthday and they made it special with little touches complete with a bottle of beer to take home! Can’t recommend this place enough - make sure you’re hungry though!!

Had an amazing time at Hickories! Exceptional service, with yummmmmmmmy food. Truly memorable experience! Shame we couldn’t eat at the sports bar due to staffing but being seated in the restaurant was lovely! Look forward to coming back just for Hickory dessert!

Absolutely love this place, first time visit, didn't book, called in with friends on the off chance of a table, and even though was very busy, managed to fit us in, two of us had the Smokehouse Platter £58 and worth every penny, the food was excellent and lots of it, the other two friends had the USDA slab and ribs and thought the value and the quality was there. We were seated near the chefs station and although very busy, they were not loud, no shouting, just obviously really good a concentrating perfect, very nice food. Now I have been in the hospitality industry for 30 odd years and nothing really takes me by surprise, this place did, would highly recommend and the young lad Matt who served and looked after us, was a credit to this place, polite, informative and actually gave a damn, which is refreshing. Well done Matt and the Hickory Smokehouse, you have encouraged us to return.

Good atmosphere and food we enjoyed our meal. However, a 7% tip was added to the bill automatically. Not something that I’ve experienced anywhere else. The service was fine other than having to request drinks twice which I put down to the place being busy. Normally I’d leave between 5 and 10% but found the automatic addition somewhat cheeky, it’s not NYC it’s Wilmslow. To top things off, asking for it to be removed wasn’t an issue with the server however it did create an argument among our party that ended up ruining our visit. Thanks Hickory’s

Great place to eat. Atmosphere is lovely and the food is amazing. We liked the pop corn to start off the evening. Staff are excellent. Only down side was having to walk through the vapers and smokers outside the main entrance to get in and out. Overall, the place is great and we will definitely be back again.

Had the hot dog which was out of this world and deffo recommend this if you haven't already tried it!. I could of ate loads of them!. The onion rings are so good too!. Friendly staff and great service as always.

I went here with my wife on Sunday afternoon and received some of the best customer service I have witnessed. As we are both hospitality professionals, we have experienced both good and bad examples of this, however the team at Hickory’s went above and beyond. It was busy, so one of the managers Dan seated us in the bar area with drinks (extra points as I could see the football from my seat) and managed to get us a table for food ten minutes later, despite the restaurant being very busy. Food and additional drinks arrived in a timely manner. I opted for the USDA ribs which were a generous portion size and extremely tasty, my wife went for the sub which she thoroughly enjoyed. Afterwards, we received the bill which stood at around £60 which was very reasonable for our food and two drinks each, I was expecting it to be more. I would highly recommend this restaurant and I am looking forward to returning again in the future.
