Excellent staff and service most food very good but had two orders of the prawn tacos that were very disappointing. No seasoning or sauce just came in a small tortilla NOT a Taco and were just plain prawns out of the freezer with a little iceberg lettuce? Not as described on menu. Apart from that everything else was great, especially the boneless wings!

Came here for lunch on Saturday and both had the Hanging Kebabs (Chicken) with a side of Halloumi. The food was excellent and will definitely be bringing The Wife back for more! Always wandered past this restaurant and never tried it until now - glad we did!

I had an amazing experience at smokehouse and cellar, especially with my server Lily, she was so polite and i had excellent service off her and she’s an amazing asset to the team.

Myself and my husband are new to the area having just moved to near Knutsford. Saturday has always been a date night out for us and after looking for something more local to us, we decided to venture a bit and pop over to Knutsford. We came across Smokehouse and Cellar online and after reading other positive reviews, booked a table. We were greeted at the door and served by Morgan Absolutely brilliant service, nothing was too much trouble! We shared The Texas Toast with pulled chicken as a starter and wow, we could have had one each it was that good, although I’m glad we didn’t as we got very full towards the end of the meal. Both of us got the 8oz Fillet Steak, mine cooked rare and the hubby’s medium-rare. Both cooked perfectly. We’ve just been discussing bringing family when they next come to visit. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Service with Gina was amazing. Food was unreal and the portion sizes are very generous compared to the prices. Will definitely be returning!

We’ve been before with friends and loved a few of the items on the menu so decided to come back. I’m afraid to say it’ll be the last time. I ordered mussels to start and they arrived smelling incredibly fishy. I’m really not sure how they made it out of the kitchen. My friend who is a chef agreed they were off so we sent them back. My huge concern was a table next to us tucking into the same batch! Hope they’re ok tomorrow!! Mains were fine overall. We had the platter and 2 types of fajitas. Drinks were fine too. I had a plate dropped on me and cocktail spilt onto my plate as it was handed over to my friend, but the waitresses were very attentive overall and apologised. Almost walked without paying the bill as requested and waited 10-15 mins and no one arrived. The restaurant was very quiet so that isn’t a reason for it. We ended up paying at the front desk in the end. Obviously mussels were not on the bill but no mention of any discount or a free drink for not being able to eat what I requested which was a bit of a shame service wise. We all wanted to really enjoy as we had a great experience the last time, but I’m afraid I don’t think we’ll be back

Called in on a Monday so it was quite. Had a steak which was good but not AAA, sadly no bone marrow sauce which was a shame, the peppercorn was OK. The service was excellent

We have had dinner here before and was really nice but this time had a Sunday roast and was disappointed there was a very small amount of veg , no mash , the roast potatoes were hardly roasted and like frozen ones the gravy was like water the whole meal was tasteless. The pudding was OK a tiny peice of black forest gateau with ice cream .The staff were very nice and a quick service .

Yes again this place surpassed expectations. The steak was incredible- cooked just right and tasty and juicy. I still can’t resist the onion bomb as a starter… you just can’t beat it. Thanks to Becky for looking after us so well. She knows her stuff and we really enjoyed the extra sides she recommended. Can’t wait to go back.

Sat at the very back of the restaurant near kitchen even though it was quiet with lots of availably. Staff were friendly. Food was mediocre, very bland and arrived far too quickly from ordering!?!?! Cocktails were poor, obviously pre-made mixer shaken over ice for premium cocktail prices!! Selling itself as American bbq restaurant online but just another Brake Brothers enterprise.

Disappointed as nothing special - blooming onion starter way too salty - main hanging chicken skewer sounded lovely but disappointing, mentioned garlic butter, no where to be seen on a very dried up corn on the cob - 5 chunks of chicken on a skewer with onion and peppers - main of pork belly on onion mash ( tasted like smash ) with inedible spinach swimming in oil - we left approx 50% of the meal.....shame we are too polite not to complain......

Food was mediocre, pretty sure what we had was frozen or reheated as it was so dry. Basically no sauce on the wings at all.

We celebrated an early Valentine's at Smokehouse & Cellar in Knutsford and had an amazing time. Highly recommend the platter they offer – it's a great way to try a little bit of everything, and for the price, it’s definitely worth it. It’s actually cheaper than ordering individual starters, mains, and sides! The vibes were great, and the staff were really friendly and attentive. If we’re ever back in this area, we’ll definitely be returning. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal and a fantastic experience!

Spent ages looking for somewhere different for my daughter’s 18th birthday meal and settled on Smokehouse and Cellar. First impressions were good, lovely looking building, spacious inside and upmarket decor. We orders 2 portions of boneless chicken wings for starters and while these were tasty, they could have had a bit more sauce and portion size was small for the price. Mains we ordered 2 buttermilk chicken burgers, 1 double beef burger, 1 plain Jane beef burger and 1 pulled pork. All of the mains were very tasty and fair size portions. Drinks, we were initially thinking of cocktails but there weren’t any that appealed so we ended up with soft drinks, which I felt were overpriced. £3.50 for a bottle of coke and £3.95 for a lemonade - crazy! Then came our major disappointment. We were all looking forward to desserts and when I asked for the dessert menu - the waiter advised that they weren’t serving desserts due to a problem with their fridge. This sounded like a real lame excuse and if this was the case, not sure why we weren’t informed this right at the start, when we first walked in. To add to this, I had emailed the restaurant earlier in the day and nothing about not serving desserts was mentioned. Normally this might not have been as big a deal, but as it was my daughter’s birthday, we wanted to spoil her and the rest of the family. Hugely disappointing!!

Went on for Sunday lunch, beef was fabulous, service was excellent, roast potatoes were of the "Aunt Bessie's" which was a shame, but otherwise definitely recommend.

Had a fantastic meal here yesterday with family. It’s a lovely place with a warm friendly atmosphere. The food was very tasty and there was lots of it. Staff were very attentive and we will definitely be back. Would 100% recommend a visit to this restaurant!!

Very bland BBQ. Ribs just tasted of pork fat, no seasoning and very flat BBQ sauce/rub. Chicken similar. Extremely disappointing at this price point. Mac n Cheese lacked flavour, very bland. As was the coleslaw. Just no flavour to any of the food really. A great shame because the meat is good quality but it's all let down by lacklustre flavours. Poor.

Very average food. Really nice waitress. Burger was mid, squid was ok. Sugary sauce. Chips were anemic and undercooked and obviously out of a big frozen bag. Would be ok if you were hungover. I had 50 percent off would be way too expensive full price

We recently went to Czechia and got a taste for the Czech tank beer so we were excited to see that Smokehouse and Cellar’s website said they had tank fresh Staropramen. So it was very disappointing when we visited and the tank beer was unavailable. Otherwise the food was decent with good portions.

The best burger, lovely smoked taste, great fries onion rings and coleslaw , lovely pilsner lager , great venue , service , can't fault it , I haven't had a burger this good anywhere ever before

Tonight we visited the smokehouse and cellar in knutsford and as soon as we walked through the entrance we were greeted by warm welcoming faces that created such a comfortable atmosphere within the establishment. The VIP service from the staff was immaculate from start to finish and the food was cooked to perfection and presented with both care and passion. Thanks all, especially head chef Nick, it was really nice to chat with him

I've been meaning to return here for another meat feast and finally got around to it, with my parents for company this time. Just as with my first experience I was blown away and departed with a full stomach and a big grin! I opted for a (slightly) smaller burger than last time, the 'Miss Piggy' with cheese added. It was incredible. The burger patty was so chunky but also really tender and juicy. You can tell it's real quality meat. I shared my Dad's ribs which were even more delicious than I remembered. Huge portion of melt in the mouth meat with a beautiful smoky flavour and plenty of sauce. Loads of slaw and (proper) pickles with them too which was an added bonus. We also shared a boneless 'wings' portion of chicken. These were a bit disappointing actually. A nice crisp coating but they were overcooked so pretty dry. The honey BBQ sauce saved them a bit but we weren't fighting over eating them like everything else! My Mum had the salmon hanging kebab and really enjoyed it. It had lots of fish pieces and came with a hefty bowl of fries which were fresh and crispy. I was disappointed when my plate was empty but also relieved for my stomach! An incredibly enjoyable feast! The staff were a delight to add to the experience and the place had been impressively decked out for Halloween. It's definitely not a 'cheap eat' but the portion sizes (and quality of food) fully justified the prices I'd say. The drinks bumped up the bill but that's often the case in restaurants. There was a vast menu though. I couldn't recommend this place enough for any meat lovers!

The Pitmaster burger was an incredible stack. A thick juicy patty with superb flame grilled flavour. Beautiful pulled pork in a lovely sweet BBQ marinade. A generous pile OG pulled brisket and tasty smoked bacon. The chicken fillet was nice but didn't add much because it didn't have a crispy coating or significant seasoning. But it was probably just outdone by the other superb aspects of this stack! Despite that and the lack of pickles this was still one of the best burgers I've had. Just as enjoyable were the ribs. So much meat for a half rack! Incredibly juicy meat with a fantastic marinade. A really pleasant place to eat, with delightful staff.

Came here on an impromptu visit for a late lunch after Tatton Park, this was my third visit and just like the previous 2 occasions it did not disappoint. Lovely staff and the food was delicious as always. Added extra which I really appreciated was the offer of bringing out our 4 year old son's food as soon as it was ready rather than bringing out with ours. Another fab experience and would 100% recommend!

Went for their Sunday roast, absolutely horrendous, most of the food was cold, we sent our cauliflower cheese back because it was stone cold, were brought another one about 20 mins later which was stone cold again, food was flavourless and bland, Apple pie dessert was still frozen in the middle. Avoid.

We booked the smokehouse and cellar for my sons 18th birthday on the 2nd of October food was gorgeous there was 18 of us all the food was served together we had plenty of cocktails that was delicious nothing was to much trouble for the staff would recommend to anyone so pleased we went there to celebrate my sons major birthday definitely making it our regular place to go

Ate here for lunch today - really nice food (we actually ended up taking some away!), good service with nice staff, drinks came out almost instantly and food was very quick too, and nice atmosphere. Loved that the background music wasn’t too loud too as sometimes I struggle to hear in loud environments.

Chicken wings were expensive for what they were and not as large as they state on the menu, food was good just expensive for what it was, the onion bomb on the other hand was worth all of its money.

What an amazing experience this is. The food is sublime, the staff are amazing especially Becky and Andy who looked after us so so well. The Onion Bomb as a starter is incredible and the sharing platter from the “Pitmaster” is out of this world. Definitely recommend this place if you like the taste of ribs, brisket, sausage and “yard bird” - chicken! Will definitely be back! Just had the Sunday roast dinner - beef! Absolutely fantastic food. The beef melts in your mouth and the apple pie with custard is incredible.

New Sunday Roast is excellent and so tasty - beef so tender, honey roast gammon simply delicious and turkey so succulent - great accompaniments and great choice of deserts to finish - always a friendly and warm welcome and highly recommend

I visited the Smokehouse & Cellar ( Knutsford ) with my family on Monday 15th July. Once again I must say how impressed all of us were with the professionalism of the staff members. There were only two members that evening. One being the site manager "Emily " and " Gina " both were a credit to the Smokehouse & Cellar franchise, as was the food and service. Both were, as they say in Shakespearean language " proper grafters " Gina spent most of the evening informing us of her " Ice Crushing " skills, and how she had worked very hard on developing her lower forearms so she could pull the perfect pint for customers, and that she had been the subject of numerous documentaries. Emily on the other hand was keen to show her leadership capabilities, and was highlighting that she was currently working on an area of heat retention when serving hot food to customers, and has just finished a course in urban hang-gliding. She also mentioned that on her days off she repairs electrical appliances free of charge for the elderly. I was also impressed on how they both manage time efficiently with great ease, not once during the evening once did i see either one of them perspire, even though they both moved with unflagging speed. One can only assume that the laws of physics do not apply at the Knutsford branch? They were even kind enough to mention how lovely my original line of corduroy evening wear looked. Emily even asked if i would mind if she could pass on clothing tips to her boyfriend. When asked if this was a good idea, both Emily and Gina assured me that their deft floral arrangements within the restaurant have earned them fame in international botany circles. This is my fourth visit to the Knutsford Smokehouse & Cellar, and not my last.....the quality of food and staff make it.....on a more formal note. If those who own the franchise do read this, please take a moment to acknowledge those who make a difference. Examples of food intake.. Had an excellent dinner here. Couldn’t decide between the ribs or the brisket, however the ribs did not disappoint. Epic portion sizes and great value for lineup service was faultless too, would definitely come back to try more.

Just left this place. Not many people in except for a table in the centre mostly lads. We’re a local couple who spend a lot of money in Knutsford and believe in supporting local businesses and sharing good experiences with our group of friends. Unfortunately this place fell very short of satisfactory. The manager placed us on a table next to the group who were very loud and swearing. The service was dreadful.. needless to say, we ate our meal fast, paid and left. It’s unfortunate as we would have promoted this place if we’d have had a good experience but unfortunately we won’t be back soon!

We visited last evening to celebrate a family birthday, we had a table for 10 and the food and service was excellent. We had taken a cake in and the staff were happy to bring it to the table making it a lovely evening. Nothing was too much trouble We will definitely come again

Service was good but unfortunately the food was not good. Most dishes lacked any flavour.

Staff were pleasant and attentive. Food disappointing. We didn’t have starters my husband ordered steak medium it stated with salad. It came rare some dressed rocket and a bowl of fries. Nothing else at £32 I ordered the starter portion of ribs as the waiter advised it was quite large I asked for a side of fries. That is what I got absolutely nothing else. The mains portion stated it had salad etc. maybe my fault but as I ordered it as a main I think they should have told me that I may need a side dish. We did tell the staff what I am writing here and as a gesture of good will they deducted the desert from the bill Won’t recommend but may try this place again

Attended 15 minutes early than we had booked and instantly we was greeted by Andy at the door with a welcoming and positive attitude. Without much looking and just me stating I had a booking but was early, he said my name (he hadn't looked at the compute POS during this time - he only checked after saying my name) which was very attentive to ensure each visitor is welcome as themselves, not just another customer. We was seated within seconds and our hostess' for the evening was Lily and Morgan. Both of these were brilliant throughout our experience and even cracked some light jokes throughout to ensure smiles was a constant theme. Unsure who was who, but one came over after me and my friend finished out starters and she asked "Are you finished with your starters?" to then see our plates empty and said whilst laughing "obviously there's nothing left". This light hearted joke gave us something to laugh about for a moment. The other hostess came to collect out dishes after we had finished our mains. I tried to have the plate ready to collect but the knife dropped on the floor. Jokingly she said "ow my foot" (it didn't touch her just to clarify) and laughed about this. When asking us for our dessert choices, we both said the cheese cake and she jokingly said "do you want me to bring 2 spoons so you can feed each other" which was funny considering me and my friend was on a laughing rollercoaster for about an hour straight. So overall the staff here are amazing! The food, just as good. The flavour and the amount of food for the cost is absolutely brilliant. My brother loves ribs so I have suggested this to maybe come for a family get together. Should be a returning customer. Tipped £20, wish I could have done more. Outstanding!

Lovely Sunday afternoon down to the smokehouse, we had our late lunch up on the terrace, lovely sunshine and tasty food. Andy is the perfect host, as always. Cannot recommend it enough.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere for my 70th birthday. Very friendly staff and fab cocktails. Highly recommend.

We came last night for my mum’s 70th and we couldn’t fault it!! The food was stunning, our waitress Emily was amazing, and the Manager Andy went above and beyond for us. The burgers by the way… OMG!! We will definitely be back! If you haven’t tried it, honestly get yourself down there, you are missing out.

I came here because I saw the 3 small dishes deal and it didn't disappoint. The service was good and 3 dishes were very nice.

A few friends called in for a drink. The staff were incredibly friendly and nothing was too much for them to do.

Had a really nice lunch here yesterday. The staff were super helpful on arrival. Good choice on the menu, I had a burger with pulled pork. Very nice! Prices are around average, and good choice of beers too. Will defiantly be back!

Dry Dry Dry! Chicken tacos came with a dribble of sauce… Still chewing on the burger now and I’ve driven 18 miles home. Also they asked for a tip? What for exactly? Tip: Don’t serve dry chicken tacos With love Ps music was good!

The food, as always, was delicious. This is the rump steak fajitas. Very beautifully cooked steak with peppers and onions served with salsa, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce and cheese.

Had the Dirty Double burger, max n cheese, pulled pork dirty fries and a pint of IPA. A great night with good friends for Bryan's birthday! 20/11/23: enjoyed a very tasty and very filling meal. We overdid it and had eyes bigger that out bellies. For starter we had the deep fried salt & pepper squid, boneless chicken wings. For main Dirty Double beef burger and Southern fried chicken burger with sides of sweet potato fries and skin on fries with chicken gravy. Service was great. 13/10/23: dogs only welcome till 6pm. Really disappointed as we were very much looking forward to dining here. Originally told dogs welcome, but were not made aware of time limit. Arrived at 7pm for a very much looked forward to evening meal, with 4 friends and our well behaved Golden Retriever. We were not permitted entry, as dogs not allowed after 6pm. Hoping to make it back to the Smokehouse and try this fantastic menu another day and change this review from 1 to 5 stars. Owner has been in touch, apologised for misunderstanding, which was a lovely gesture.

It doesn't happen often, but this place was awesome. Attentive service... some of the best food I've had in a long time, yes it's a bit pricey, but it's worth it! I had the smokehouse breakfast, even though they had run out of beans , it was fantastic! A bowl overflowing with smokey luscious pulled pork, A massive sausage, I think it might have been boar, rashers of decent bacon , eggs, thick chunks of bread....OMG, I'm hungry again. I'm saving my pennies to go again. We'll done guys!!!

This place is amazing, great decor and the food was on another level. Service was also spot on, a very young but very attentive and hard working team. Definitely worth a visit

Outstanding evening. Great food, brilliant service with a genuinely friendly lad looking after us. Considering the quality and quantity of the food I was amazed when we got the bill, excellent value for money.Top place. Can't wait to go back...Thoroughly recommend it.

Arrived with Friends on time. Nice meeting with staff upon arrival. Very nice settings with everything looking clean and fresh. No rushing from start to finish and the meals were fab. Staff were very good and always on hand . A very nice eating and social experience . Sitting with nice people and a nice environment . Well done to the staff +++++++++

Really welcoming and friendly with an excellent menu with generous portions. The boneless chicken wings with buffalo and blue cheese dressing is so tasty as is the cauliflower bang bang starter. Tried the pulled pork which was delicious and would highly recommend.

Nothing special about this place, food was just 'regular' and the staff really need more training in customer service, read the room and a smile would seriously not hurt once in a while.

Visited Knutsford and with no prior booking, we were welcomed for lunch as a family of 5. Teenagers loved the music, we loved the atmosphere and cozy, curved seeting alcove. Service was top class, food was prompt and delicious. What a find, we will return and definitely try the rest of the menu! We had a selection of meals, I tried the choice of 3 plates/small bites, chilli prawns, halloumi and topped potato skins.....soooo tasty!

An amazing meal. I thoroughly enjoyed every single bite.  The Pitmaster burger was an incredible stack. A thick juicy patty with superb flame grilled flavour. Beautiful pulled pork in a lovely sweet BBQ marinade. A generous pile OG pulled brisket and tasty smoked bacon.  The chicken fillet was nice but didn't add much because it didn't have a crispy coating or significant seasoning. But it was probably just outdone by the other superb aspects of this stack! Despite that and the lack of pickles this was still one of the best burgers I've had.  Just as enjoyable were the ribs. So much meat for a half rack! Incredibly juicy meat with a fantastic marinade.  A really pleasant place to eat, with delightful staff. 

Went during the Jan 50% off, so value for money was really good. And because it was stuffed to the rafters some food items were out of stock. But, the quality was good and the service was attentive given how busy it was. And of course the atmosphere was good as it was bustling.

Excellent family meal to celebrate a birthday. Food, service and surroundings all excellent. We will definitely be returning, thank you 😊

I booked here for my staff post Christmas party as we can only have ours after Christmas due to being in the trade. So there was 13 of us we arrived at 7.30pm the place was quite busy. The gentleman I think who was in charge saw us at the door but didn’t come to greet us it was a young girl who was lovely but he then came over and I went to say our name he interrupted me saying well it’s obvious you are the big table. He took us to the table said all mains on half price apart from steaks left mains walked off. About 10 mins later I asked could we order some drinks this again was the lovely waitress who was rushing round doing everything. The same one took our food order. Food came out quick and was nice. We ordered desserts again the same waitress who really does work hard. Then as soon as we ordered desserts the waitress came over said I have been told to tell you it’s last orders at the bar well at 9.40pm with still at 30 people in we were shocked. I asked for 11 baby Guinness he bought 1 said no asked for 11 he said no can’t do the bar is closed. Well thank you for spoiling for Christmas outing and after spending £800 after discount you really don’t deserve the business. The problem from start to finish was the guy in charge no customer service at all no smile no thank you shame on you for ruining my teams night out. Yes I tried to contact you before this review but no response.

Visited Knutsford for the day and called in the Smokehouse for a lunch. Friendly staff, decent menu focused on BBQ meals. My partner had pulled pork and I had the double burger, the meals were good value for money and the pulled pork and fries were very tasty, although for me the burger was a bit too well done. Overall very good place to visit and would return to try other menu items

Googled eateries in this area looking for something different. Found The Smokehouse and what a find! It was late lunch time so not so busy but the welcome was warm and we were seated at a lovely corner table with great views of the restaurant. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas, very tasteful indeed. The menu was varied and very comprehensive. Choices made, we relaxed with our drinks and our food arrived very quickly. Our meals were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Service was faultless from lovely staff with no feelings of intrusion. We will certainly return and have an evening here where we can imagine the atmosphere would be fabulous!! Thanks to the team.here for a lovely lunch.

Just called in for a late tea time meal and so pleased we did - the boneless chicken wings starter with buffalo sauce are delicious. Great choice of burgers or steaks and chicken dishes which are all so tasty. Do try the honeycomb sticky toffee cheesecake - so nice - highly recommend a visit

We came to Knutsford for the weekend. We’d done a bit of restaurant research and discovered this place. We popped by Friday evening and booked a table for Saturday evening. Thank goodness we did. What a buzzing busy restaurant. Always a winning sign. The lady who served us was just wonderful. So polite, chatty, friendly and made us feel very at ease and welcome. Our food was absolutely delicious and we didn’t wait very long at all really. What a lovely lovely restaurant. Even had dessert which we seldom do when out. It was so good! Everything tasted so fresh and you could tell lots of effort had gone into meal prep and presentation. Such a lovely place. Highly recommended

Booked a work event for just over 20 people, from the first email to the last mouthful everything was superb. Everyone said how good the food was and how much they enjoyed the night. I think we’ll all be back.

After visiting the restaurant this evening, I just had to leave a review! By far the best customer service (sorry we didn’t catch names) and the food was amazing. We had a starter and main and both very filling and tasty! Would highly, highly recommend!

Very interesting menu - we had vegetarian & seafood starters, followed by the 'Pitmaster Platter' - a feast of different meat expertly cooked. Everything was absolutely delicious!
