Hermit's Cave in Southwark

We nipped in here for a drink after visiting the Chinese restaurant opposite. Decent enough spot, but a bit too loud for us all.

El tiempo era cuando los asientos en este lugar eran un poco más cómodos y la decoración en general un poco menos en mal estado. Lo importante es que este es un auténtico pub local con una buena variedad de cervezas y un personal eficiente. Cuando estábamos allí, había una gran variedad de clientes, viejos fanáticos en taburetes de una pinta, una gran mesa de jóvenes que corrían a través de los suyos, grupos familiares, parejas, personas que regresaban a casa desde el trabajo. Me recomendaron este lugar y no me decepcionó. El personal amable, la selección de cervezas encantadora y un buen ambiente, me encantó. Un boozer tradicional de Londres con un poco de un toque. Vale la pena una visita

Small and local pub in camberwell area, near to bus stops its a really good option for a quick pint. Nice place, friendly staff. I’ve been there a couple of times and its fun.

Have been there a couple of times on visits to Camberwell and always enjoyed the atmosphere. Wide range of beers.

Early evening drinks before a meal. Great decor and good value. Three pints and two glasses of wine about £20. Pleasant staff and customers. They made room for six of us to sit together. Good choice of proper ales. Had two rounds but would have stayed longer.

I have enjoyed several good evenings in this pub. However, one busy night, I was with a friend from Jerusalem. He ordered a round of drinks, including a Mad Goose (pale ale). What he received though, was a bottle of Magners. When we pointed out the error, they poured the correct drink, but then asked us to pay for both of them! This was their mistake, not ours. I pointed out to the manager that she was punishing my friend for his accent, but she didn't care. Terrible customer relations. Will never go back.

Proper boozer, good beer, atmosphere, eclectic mix. Like to sink a few on my own and watch what's going on. I know all the pubs in Camberwell, this is my favourite.

I enjoyed an evening here with a friend. They have a very good selection of draught pale ales, and we also tried one of the house red wines. We also had a pizza from the place next door, which the publicans don't mind as they don't serve food. All in all, a nice evening in a decent local pub. Nice windows as well.

friends took me back to this pub. unchanged since last visit. thankfully hasn't changed!!! Good efficient bar staff, usual selection of clients, mix of ages and drinking habits. busy on a Friday night, before and after our meal at Caravaggios. This as a sociable pub, no intrusive music, plenty of chat and laughter. Good selection of beers at £3.50 a pint. when i go back to see my friends i'll go back to the HERMITS CAVE.

Very bad management in this pub. I ordered a round of drinks at the extremely busy bar. Two of my drinks got knocked over in the scrum. The manager insisted that I pay for replacing the drinks - incredibly bad customer service and very inhospitable.

went to this pub last night with a few friends having been wanting to go there for a while and I was very pleasantly surprised.This place has a really warm atmosphere both from the clientele and the roaring open fire.Great selection of beers on tap and drinks are quite reasonably priced with a double vodka and lemonade at just £5.50.It loses a mark simply because of the fact it only has one cubicle in the ladies toilets and given the amount of students who frequent this place from local camberwell arts college long ques were inevitable.

Interesting mix of working locals and migrant art students. Not hip though. A pleasant place for banter, good ale - stay warm in the winter or sit outside on the albeit noisy Camberwell New Road and people watch. A Camberwell favourite.

Nice atmosphere, real old English pub. Very busy corner of Camberwell, Nice to people watch. Try the Devon Mist Cider!
