It is a very nice decorated pub, where we met the nicest staff. Good selection of beer and other drinks. The building outside is stunning and inside okay but not the nicest. Unfortunately the toilets have mold otherwise okay.

Nice traditional pub. I liked the two English barmaids. Both clued up and didn’t take any nonsense. Lovely carpet, nice vibe. Seating not very comfortable so maybe not a place to spend hours, but a perfect spot before or after a train. I will return.

Went in this pub last night for the first time. Great atmosphere, great bar staff.. until I was served by who I'm assuming is the pubs landlady, older larger very scruffy lady. This woman was so so rude. He attitude was disgusting. She was disgusting. I politely told her she is rude to then be told I will not be served any more drinks. Needless to say we won't be coming back

Great old style London pub . Great location to watch the world go by.

What I call a old style pub, very cozy bar in the middle of the room good selection of beers small seating area outside drinks served in plastic cups for outside use was great for a pit stop pint would return

From outside this place looked lovely but the bar service is confusing with tables oddly placed next to the bar Biggest issue was the attitude of staff when we stood in the wrong place by the bar I thought I was back at school being told off aggressively by two bar staff Was quite shocked as the signage regarding standing by the bar was absent or difficult to find and the attitude of staff was very poor Such a shame as it promised so much when we first walked in

Super friendly customer service

Really unpleasant security - stopping people getting in at random. It's busy because of its great location. But see how many other people here have mentioned the security. And the rudeness.

Why do I keep returning to this place considering the staff are so rude. They are not even that good at their job aside the manners; service is slow, often interrupted by staff shouting at customers to move or get out of the way, or to queue properly or simply for interrupting their otherwise pleasant evening of customer-free monotony. It is a beautiful old boozer in an incredibly convenient location - that must be why I keep popping back in….

I went there by myself to shelter from the rain, but I met the guy we were sharing the table with and we started chatting. It was all very enjoyable until the manager said we can't have any more drinks. We have not been unruly or aggressive or anything, and when we asked the reason they could not provide us with one, except that it is the manager's decision and we would have to go with it (probably she wanted to give the table to other more profitable customers). To be honest, we could tell there was something strange with this place because the staff seemed unhappy (although I have to say that up until that moment we were served fine and had no complaints from the service). I've read a few of the 1-2 star reviews and they all seem to agree on the same issues, but I guess they have enough customers (due to tourism) so they can do whatever they want. Rude, avoid.

Didn't eat here, not even sure they do food. But a classic boozer style pub, right next to LBG.

Been in this pub many times before, but won't be going again! My friends &I came in for a drink 10.20pm, bought a round then I wanted a rum &was told we wouldn't be served by the bar staff, now I know when I'm drunk and this wasn't the time, asked to see the manager who apparently told the bar staff not to serve us&was told they weren't there!! Shocking service &obnoxious doormen ,stay away!

What an awful Place, the people Serving is very impolite and unhelpful. When they put the shot of tequila I asked for on the bar it tipped over and they said it was not their responsibility and I had to pay for another one. Disgraceful !!! What a lot of horrible people when I pay almost £10 for two tequila shots!

This is probably the worst run pub in the whole of London , most of the bar staff are rude , especially the one who is supposed to be in charge, I complained that my beer was flat yet again, and she told me it wasn’t her fault that they didn’t have the right glass for that particular beer, then she accused me of saying something that she never said and then told me to f.,k off in front of other staff and customers!!! I still asked her for a new pint which was not so flat , drank up and then f.,:;d off ……never going back there

Was going to have lunch but decided not to, walked in, the bar made looked at me and walked away, very bad atmosphere sent the other half to the bar for a drink and he got served, poor pint, grotty looking place, the menu was soggy and dirty when it was given to us, we drank up and got outta there quickly…. Advice is avoid, was reading the brilliant reviews and just thinking there are the down and out regulars that wrote the reviews…. Very sad for a bar in a good location and one star is too much

A woman working behind the bar who I think may have been some form of Management spoke to me in a way which totally unacceptable! She needs to on a Customer service course. Her attitude stank and her language shocking. Avoid...there are far better pubs around London Bridge..try the Bunch of Grapes..are far better experience where customers are welcomed

Watch out for the bar tender who adds a 'tip' when paying by contactless. Didn't notice until we had left and thought a third round of drinks was more expensive than the previous two rounds.

Nice pub to meet in near London Bridge. Don't expect to get a seat at busy times, but plenty of standing room (and also outside seating). Wide range of beers

The place is very cool, but it turned into a tourist place. I wished more local beers were served.

Experienced discrimination at The Shipwrights Arms when denied service from the female manager with spectacles, despite being sober having only one drink. I witnessed a visibly intoxicated individual being served in front of me. Inconsistent treatment and baseless accusations left me feeling furious and unwelcome. Furiating experience. Don't paint me as the same paint brush as other people. My office or city workers will not be going their again. Shame on you.

If you're going to spew hateful, racist vitriol then maybe wait till the pub is empty. Awful to see these places are still run by archaic dinosaurs with outdated world views... such a shame.

Popped in for a quick drink maybe the cleaner was off but very dirty. Glasses looked like they had lip marks from last owner was offered a new glass. Found toilets to be smelly and no toilet paper in cubicles. When I let staff know I just got that look.

Nous sommes passés boire une bière dans ce pub en fin de journée, donc oui le lieu est très bruyant, il y a beaucoup de monde, les places assises libres sont rares, le service est au bar, c est un peu cher mais il est proche de tower bridge, il est sur la tamise et l ambiance est vraiment caractéristique d un pub londonien. Le lieu vaut le détour pour découvrir un vrai pub anglais.

Didn't eat here hence the one star as we just popped by for a Christmas drink. The Shipwrights Arms is a busy edge of the City pub just a stones throw from London Bridge station. Good range of beers and plenty of staff so even at busy times the wait isn't too long. Always fancied popping in so nice to finally check it out.

Welcome break on the trek back to the hotel. First class traditional London pub. Brilliant.

We popped in here for a quick drink before going to the Elvis exhibition and wished we had got her earlier. The atmosphere was brilliant, like the proper old style London pubs I remember from my younger days, and while we didn't eat, the food being served to other people looked great with generous portions. I will definitely come here again if in the area.

Was told within 30 seconds of walking in we wouldn't be served and the landlady didn't have to give a reason. This was all she repeated when we asked why. Never had a stranger/ruder experience in a pub. The security guards seemed as bemused as us. From reading reviews below seems like a common trend...

You are much better off round the corner - Incredibly strange experience - walked in to immediately be told that we wouldn't be served with no reason given. This was by the older female bar manager, felt like the rest of the staff were as bemused as we were by this decision but towed the party line. We gently challenged this to just be told that they don't have to give a reason but they've just decided that we dont deserve their service. Crazy way to run a pub - avoid and go to much more hospitable places nearby such as the Horniman.

So we visited this venue last night our group consisted of 5 couples and a child. I went to the bar and was asked quite nicely if I had been to the football, I said yes and was immediately asked to leave! Even an old man who wasn't with us was told to leave even the 2 staff were bemused. So if that old dour faced cow bag that was working on sat night is there you will probably get chucked out before being served! Absloute shocking treatment buy that old cow

Been going here for years, an annual get together with ex colleagues. We are all respectable professionals just looking forward to a civilised chat over a few beers, sadly this year it was awful, the bouncers left the doors open, with minus temperatures outside meaning we had to sit with our coats on. Politely enquiring why they couldn’t shut the door was met with a barrage of abuse and threats to shoot us! Management was just as rude. We left early & found a new venue much more civilised. Won’t be going back there again & it seems from other reviews this is not an isolated experience.

Food stopped at 5 before we could order, Later the door was opened a kept open by security whilst patrons froze. This was 30 November after all!! A request to close the door was refused and after the security escalated matters via aggressive attitude and downright lies to “management “, we had to leave. This is a pub we’ve used for over 15 year's and ordinarily I’d recommend it, but after tonight, this is the first pub I can say I will Never go to again because of the behaviour of the security/ management.

The female bar manager needs to rethink her career. Maybe working on a lighthouse? Maybe something where she doesn't speak to anyone, let alone paying customers! Never felt rudeness like it. Shant be returning that's for sure!

The female manager has 0 customer service. She’s extremely rude, possesses no people skills and has a terrible attitude. Maybe a course on hospitality or a job where she speaks to no one? Took friends here and she made the experience terrible. Unfortunately people like her ruin the reputation of nice businesses. What a shame.

Only went for a drink . Plenty of variety on tap. The landlord runs a tight ship and if your not drinking or eating in there ,you aren’t using their facilities. Toilets for ladies are down a spiral staircase . Staff friendly. Location right next to a station . Disabled toilet on same floor as bar but you need to ask behind the bar .

Great pub and a very good place to be in but be careful of staff trying to overcharge you. I knew I was going to be overcharged I could see the barman trying to work it out on the till and the round was only cheaper by a £1 and we had one less drink from the previous round. They also have the till front covered so you can’t see what’s being put on. I’m a pub landlord and was completely sober so I suspect it’s a trick they target later in the evening. Also if I come to the bar and buy a drink I don’t expect to have to walk to my drinks to pick them up. They knew they had been busted as well as I continued to get daggers from said Barman for the rest of the evening. I’m sure they don’t care but I won’t be heading back……

The landlady is incredibly rude. The pub does a good trade based on its location and that only. She refused to serve a separate friend group of mine because not everyone was buying a drink. She then refused to serve me ordering one beer for myself because the girls in the group were apparently too drunk (one of them spilled a drink). She questioned me on who I was buying the beer for, which was myself. After some deliberation about whether I wanted to buy a beer in such a hostile environment I came back 5 minutes later and she refused to serve me because I questioned her. On a principles basis I would not attend this pub. Incidentally the beer selection is also below par.

Really rude and unpleasant service. We were asked to leave as not every member of the group ordered a drink. Made to feel unwelcome and not an enjoyable atmosphere. Shame as a nice building in a good location.

Avoid at all costs. Both the bar staff and security are unbelievably rude, they'll find any excuse to insult and berate punters. We arrived as a group but most left after five minutes, due to a particularly nasty elderly bar lady, hurling insults at my friends and denying service for no reasonable reason. My girlfriend and I stayed for one drink, I left my girlfriend alone for a minute to visit the restroom, returning to find the same vile bar lady and a security guard intimidating and threatening my girlfriend. Easily the strangest and most unpleasant pub I've visited, it's quite impressive they're still in business given the toxic atmosphere and drab smelly decor.

A nice pub that we used after visiting HMS Belfast, only had a drink here but there's a good variety on tap, the staff seem very friendly and my children were welcomed. Right next door to our station ( London Bridge ) as well.

Traditional wood panelled pub with attractive exterior. Function room upstairs. Average food, central location. Cider choice is strongbow or strongbow dark fruits, or bottled magners or fruited ciders. Toilets smell terrible unfortunately.

We have two young boys aged 4 and 7 and one desperately needed to use the toilet. The security man was very nice and understood but he pointed out that the manager doesn't allow it. The manager came towards us and asked if we were buying anything. He was so incredibly rude. We were going to buy a couple of drinks but quickly changed our mind after hearing his tone. It is a public house and you are in the service industry. Understandably, you get alot of people come in to use the facilities however use your discretion and common courtesy.

Sad story, we came in and the security told us to stay out and after checking his reasons he told us: Just stay out! After we asked pleastly what the problem is he told us „I can‘t tell you, just stay out“.

After spending best of a £1000 in in 1 night on a leaving do,very well behaved bunch of engineers were suddenly told we couldn't use the toilets and were forced to use the streets to urinate,when called manager she said they don't have to give a reason why we were denied access,everyonw was on best behaviour irhink the manageress was bang out of order, no reason given,won't be returning

When in here yesterday for a quick drink after getting of the train. Asked for a pimms bar person never asked what pimms I wanted as there is a new very sweet one just come in. So obviously she gave me this one, she put lemon and lime in it no strawberries, no Cucumber no mint which I asked for. Utterly disgusting drink at the cost of just under £6........Your staff need training on how drinks should be presented. Will not return also in a plastic cup.

Somehow had expected more. Atmosphere lacking due to cramming in of tables and chairs. Pubs aren't cafes. That said staff were good as was the Ghost Ship

Situated at a prime location, this place is everything you want during a hot summer for some good beers. Life musicals around the place make it a happening site. I consider this place as a stress buster after leaving office and enjoying a couple of beers. Would recommend

Wasn't shocked when I went to read reviews of this place and saw others comment on the foul owner. If you want someone to upset your evening go here. Wouldn't buy anything from someone who so clearly hates people. Feel sorry for the bar staff, can only imagine how depressing the environment is

The management was extremely rude and racist. When I tried to order a drink with my friend they refused to serve us. When I asked for explanation they simply said they don't need to give a reason to refuse to serve customers. Avoid this pub if you want to experience the welcoming London night experience.

Mai successo in almeno 10 viaggi in UK... siamo entrati e ci siamo seduti al tavolo. Mentre ero al bancone ad ordinare una signora(forse la proprietaria) ha cominciato a chiedere in maniera insistente ed aggressiva i documenti a mia moglie e i miei figli, ci è stato detto che non potevamo stare all'interno visto che mio figlio era minorenne... potevamo bere fuori... onestamente sono stato in decine di pub inglesi con i mie figli e una cosa del genere, con questa aggressività, non mi era mai successa(premetto che non faccio bere alcolici a mio figlio :-) )... di sicuro non ci tornerò con o senza figli, peccato perchè il locale è molto bello
