Henry’s Play Cafe is so much fun for the younger children. The staff are friendly and the children can play freely in a Calm and clean enviroment. The cafe is a great addition for parents too.

This is a good place for young children to play. However I have arrived at 3 o’clock on two occasions and Henry’s has been closed. It is advertised as being open until 5pm. This is very annoying when I have brought a 2 year old and a 5 year old some distance to find the shutters down and consequently am left with two very disappointed children. I shall not risk coming again.

I've reviewed this place before a couple of years ago and thought that it have improved since then. I would say this place is best between 2 and 5 years old. The food has also improved and so has the service.

Thus is a place I regularly take my granddaughter. She loves playing here and I get a nice coffee and a relax. She loves dressing up with other children. We sometimes just have toast or snacks and other times stay for lunch. The menu is small but food is tasty. I think it's a great place to have for a nice break with young ones

We come here quite a lot, the staff are always lovely. The food and drinks is very reasonably priced. A good range of soft play and toys!

What a lovely facility. Half spacious cafe and half play area. Also dressing up and cars to play in/on. £5 for the toddler and a tea and coffee for us. We are local so we will be back.

If the staff were a little more friendly, the toys actually worked and were cleaned and the entry price wasn't so high. The actual soft play bit is great fun but small hence why the price should be lowered. The food looks great but it's too expensive so I have only had coffee there (which was very nice I might add).I've only gone a couple of times because I wanted my daughter to have her haircut and ended up staying to play.If you haven't been here before, you almost feel lost as to where to go and how to pay. I couldn't see a clear sign at the front. I won't be going back and I know a lot of people who say the same. Also, read how sarcastic the owners remarks are on the reviews. Just an apology would suffice.

Went there yesterday with my 2.5 year old a friend and her 7 week old for the first time. My son loved it. Great value for money the ham and cheese panini was good value for money. Best coleslaw around. Only down side was the parking. Could have stayed drinking coffee for hours but was worried I'd get a ticket. Will definitely be back

Took my two children here today to let off some steam and they loved it was a great place for them to play and run around with no problems and despite it being so busy the two young ladies working there were constantly on the go but managed to serve coffees and lunch with no delays they were so polite and friendly

My first ever visit to Henrys today. Perfect place for children/babies of all ages. Clean and tidy with lots of space for buggies to park. The staff were friendly and welcoming and your coffee cake was scrummy!!! We will definitely be coming back for more. Thank you.

This place is a real gem. Friendly and very helpful staff, nice size, clean, excellent coffee and a calmer atmosphere than most soft play places. Easy to park nearby and just a great place for younger kids to have fun while being in full view of parents who can have a nice chat and coffee without worry. We had our daughter's 4th birthday party here and it was perfect. The party food is great, the place is so well organised we could actually relax and enjoy the party. Couldn't ask for a more pleasant place for little ones to have fun. Well worth a visit and the parties are very reasonably priced. Love it!

Play area was good, big enough for under 5's and enough to keep them entertained for an hour or so. Slide, swing, ball out etc. Staff not particularly friendly I'm afraid and don't seem to want to be there. We found a few broken plastic toys and some were really dirty- build up of dust and grime. Toilet areas are through the kitchen area which I felt was difficult and poorly thought out plus an accident waiting to happen. Toilets and sinks could have been cleaner. We stayed two hours and our empty cups and plates stayed on the table the whole time as did many other dirty tables. A child had a huge nosebleed and there was blood everywhere- a staff member was aware but nobody checked in the soft play and my friend who was there before me had to go and wipe up blood which her child nearly stepped in!

I used to take my daughter when she was much younger and it was newly opened, since then the place has gone downhill. The food is fine, the staff are rude and on my last visit were overheard slagging off the boss to a customer!! The soft play itself is quite small and really for children under 3, an adventurous child or older than 3 will soon get board. I recently went for a birthday party, where basic food (pizza, jams sandwiches, biscuits and fruit etc) where out on the table for the children to help themselves too, but the juice supplied was not refilled unless specifically asked (the staff are not exactly attentive). There's also no air conditioning or ventilation so it's like a sauna, even in the winter months to windows will be dripping with condensation and it's like being in the tropics.

This play centre is a very poor attempt, considering all the other play centres we have locally. We are spoiled for choice. I visited about 5 times and the place fills very cheaply designed, not a large area for kids to play, okay for 0-2 years, any older and your kids will be board. The place is clean, but very little thought has been put into the layout, toilets are behind the a cafe serving hot drinks and food, children and parents having to walk though, whilst staff are serving, is a bump or fall waiting to happen. I guess this was a cost imprecations, when taking on the lease. The staff are rude and unorganised. A Friend book a birthday party once, not only did they not have any record of booking, they left 12 mums on a wet pavement and said that the place was to full to come in. The coffee and food is all very cheap, everything is the cheap alternative. This is evident from the lack of branded stock and cheap equipment. I will never return and never recommend this play centre, if you want great play for under 7's, give Manic Monsters ago in Edenbridge or Kids Space on the Purley Way. Even better a on a nice day the park. Much better value.

Visited Henry's with a friend a couple of weeks ago and to say I had a bad experience would be putting it mildly. The staff were rude and unhelpful. I understand the buggy park is there for a reason but when you have a young baby needing to nap I think exceptions can be made to allow the parent to have the buggy nearby to keep an eye on the child. I specifically chose a table with enough room to park the buggy without getting in anyone's way but was rudely told I would have to move it even after I explained the situation. I ended up having to put the carrycot on the FLOOR and have my baby sleep in there. We then ordered food for ourselves and our kids and after eating it I had to change my daughters nappy. To say the changing area was dirty would be a major understatement, it was filthy! I'd even go as far as saying it was disgusting. I put my changing mat on top to limit the exposure to my daughter and tried my best to keep her from touching anything. There were no "nappy bins" as such just normal bins lined with black bin liners (not the clinical waste ones which should be used). The room smelt of dirty nappies. Had I known this beforehand I would not have ordered food. The area used for haircuts was accessible to children and had not been cleaned properly resulting in my daughter being covered in other people's hair. The baby/toddler toys were mostly broken (dangerous for young children to play with) and absolutely filthy. The only positive is the actual play area itself which is entertaining for kids but I'm honestly surprised this place has not been shut down for poor hygiene! As a final nail in the coffin myself and my children ended up poorly following our visit. I myself was hospitalised for food poisoning, not only was this painful but I was too ill to look after and breastfeed my own children which was upsetting. I'm disgusted this place is allowed to accommodate children, let alone serve food.

Cracking idea. Really good soft play area catering for really little to not so little anymore. Plenty of tea and coffee and cake for mums and dads while the kids play. very reasonable rates for play (they know you're going to get tea and cake so no need to charge the earth for entry!)As clean as they can keep it considering the carnage in there everyday. Loads of toys to play with as well as the two level soft play. I recommend highly.

If you need to pass time on a rainy day with a 2-4 year old, this will keep them busy for a while, but that is it. Seems to follow the usual approach of install a play area and milk it as a cash cow. There is not much competition but this place could be so much better with some TLC and if it did reasonable food would probably be buzzing all the time.

First impression was one of disgust. My daughter had paid good money for her daughter's birthday party and she was extremely excited. I could not believe that the place had not been tidied up in readiness for our party, there was balloons left laying round from a previous party; food on the floor; an old doll; and the cushions on the chairs were very grubby.

My daughter and I love it here, she is 3 and happily plays for hours if she can - we usually meet with friends and its a rare chance for us mums to get a coffee and a catch up while the kids are safe and happy.Food is always nice too. Sometimes they do close up early but this is always advertised on the black board outside and if you want to know in advance they usually put it up on their facebook site.

Went in with my children today, was very busy as it has been terrible weather. Found staff to be very friendly. Was a little concerned after reading the couple of bad reviews, from people on here, but I found the staff to be brilliant and friendly. Plenty of signs explaining that parents are responsible for there own children ( which in my opinion, any decent parent would be anyway) so think the other comments about staff are truly unfounded. Food was brilliant and served efficiently and the place is kept very clean ( unlike a few others that are localish). Even booked a party for my 4 year old. For his 5th birthday in November. Can't believe they even include the food and drink for upto 20 kiddies and can have even more if I like. Will definitely become a regular, now I've found this little gem.

The play area is really small, so the entrance fee is expensive. There are quite a few tables, so plenty of rooms for parents to seat and have a coffee. There is no competition in the area, and the place seems to make a profit with the parties at the weekend (very expensive parties!) Sadly, it does not seem bothered about the week! The staff is absolutely dreadful. The owner (or manager) is the most unfriendly person I’ve ever seen. Don’t expect a smile, the customers are obviously a nuisance. I wouldn’t judge a business on the complaints they receive, but the replies from Henry’s on their facebook page say it all. The customer is always wrong. The staff is absolutely not interested in what is happening in the room or play area, and have no interaction with customers at all. It is very strange. My issue lays mainly with their opening hours. Mornings seem fine on average, but afternoons have completely random closing time, presented in a very aggressive manner. You can turn up any time expecting 2 or 3 hours of play, but still be charged the full price even if Henry’s has decided to closed down 30 minutes later. You do not pay at the entrance, but at the coffee area, after you have taken the kids out of the car seat, taken off their shoes etc.. It is very difficult to remove your children now ready to play, how unfair does that sound for them?It is sad that Henry’s doesn’t seem to understand that a consistent closing time would bring more business. Many mums run around Monday or Tuesday morning, but would be delighted to meet for a coffee after nap time. Sadly, if you ever try to organise a group meeting, you discover that the closing time has changed once again, and you have to frantically call all your friends to cancel the afternoon. If you had at least a smile, an apology, maybe the experience would be more pleasant, but the bad attitude makes you want to run a mile. Parents go to Henry’s as an occasional treat for the kids, there’s not much else to do locally, but it is a shame they leave with a bad taste in their mouth. My advice if you can: plan a drive, and go to a much bigger, much friendlier, much better value, much more pleasant soft play.

Visited with friends and found the soft play was good for 2-3 yr olds and we were comfortable letting our children play without having to hover over them constantly . Food is basic but its clean and kids catered for well. Coffee is good too. We will be going back soon for sure .

i wouldn't take my children back here if it was the only play place in the world. They have no first aid trained staff and couldn't help my daughter when something trod on her hand. They were rude and told me to see the pharmacist in Boots. Useless expensive awful place.

My kids love coming to Henry's play cafe, it's not a huge play area but it's just enough for my two. The refreshments are nice too, you can get squash for the kids and tea, coffee or cans of coke etc at fairly reasonable prices. Staff are friendly. I highly recommend it.

Returned to this lovely garden centre and was warmly welcomed into the restaurant,it was early lunchtime but there was a good buzz of others enjoying their food. There is a seasonal menu and wanting a fairly light lunch we opted for the mezze platter to share. The service is first class our waitress very friendly,we ordered a beer and glass of red wine to accompany the dish. The drinks and food arrived speedily and it was delicious, colourful, and beautifully presented. Our waitress returned to check everything was ok which of course it was.We had coffee afterwards then left.We were acknowledged by all the staff working there who cheerfully said Goodbye. This is a venue not to be missed,I noticed the lunch menu, they also do breakfast and whilst there at the weekend they were serving a beautiful afternoon tea to a group of ladies…I look forward to a return visit soon…Yours Stuart…

Visited for the first time to see a play in the upstairs room. We couldn’t have had a better night. The welcome from the moment we walked was great. The play was brilliant and the publican even gave us a lift to the station so that we made our train We would definitely make the effort to go again , if we heard about more plays or events and more often if we lived nearer
