No volveremos

I will not be visiting this venue any longer, whilst I have had some very nice meals here and some good drinks, they refused to let me enter the building wearing a hoodie on a cold day, the security guards were very arrogant, belittling and singling certain individuals with hoodies out whilst letting others past without question.Complained to the management and they made no changes to their policies which are apparently designed to promote security.... Despite the fact people walk in in hats, big coats, briefcases, backpacks etc.My advise, go to Brown's, much friendlier and more welcoming staff

I visited a few months ago, and the lights in the ladies toilets weren't working. On returning this weekend, they still weren't. Which I do not understand - how can somewhere fail to fix something like this for so long? The group that we were in were downstairs, which was a fantastic space, the plated food was good - onion rings, chips and chicken skewers. The olives were really tasty. They had karaoke which everyone seemed to enjoy. The staff, though kept busy by us were polite and fast.My main and absolute complaint comes from the smoking area downstairs, which is 2 open double doors leading immediately from the dance floor to the smokers. I have not stunk of second hand smoke that much since before the smoking ban. Who knows what it did to my insides, if my hair and skin were so tainted. This is not to be confused with the upstairs outside seating area. This was downstairs, and there was no escape from it.I will not return to the bar, if I know the set up would be the same in the future.

Just literally spent 5 mins in this terrible place.Sat down asked what meats were being served for Sunday lunch as it wasn't listed on their menu and the waiter responded with 'all' deeply unhelpful. When pressed he said any meat we wanted, I asked him for kangaroo and he said fine (unlikely to happen), my partner tried again to get a solid answer and after 2 mins of random weird responses she tried to ask what the lamb was and how it was cooked, the waiter responded with 'however'. We decided it just wasn't worth the effort and went to Browns instead.Avoid Henry's like the plague.

In need of a quick bite prior to the cinema with a friend, we popped into what was Bar 38 as I'd checked the menu online beforehand and say they served a selection of the sort of starters I was looking for - wings and chicken strips.Sadly, I experienced some of the worst food I'd had for a while; bland, lukewarm and flavourless with oily skin and a flaccid, unnecessary salad accompaniment. It smacked of lazy cooking from folks with no regard for customer satisfaction and I strongly doubt it was cooked fresh. If I was to return to Henry's, it would certainly be for drinks only.

Disappointed with Henry's. Starters were both ok,chicken wings and scotch egg, can't go wrong really. However mains were poor,I chose a grazing board, which was a bit bland, however my wife had pancetta & leek carbonara which was very watery and tasteless and the pasta overdone,no sign of leek and very sparse on the pancetta front. To be fair to them, they replaced this dish with her second choice of vermouth risotto free of charge. When returning to west India quay I would much rather frequent 'browns' a few doors down.

My fiancé and I came for a quick Thursday dinner and had the worst experience ever. When 7 chicken wings cost 12.95, you expect something better than average but... It was just microwaved, plain (unless oil is sauce or seasoning) wings. Super overpriced! My fiancé had pasta - probably the worst pasta in his life and definitely the last meal at Henry's ever. My food was clearly microwaved and so not worth the price. We would never eat here again.

I had not read the reviews before going here and probably would not have visited if I had. However, having gone into the unknown it was a treat! The food was very good, obviously not fine dining but exactly what I expected for the price/location/venue. I had lamb chops which were well cooked and delicious. Although I would have preferred for them to be served on an actual palte rather than a wooden board (this is definietly not the only place guilty of doing this though). The portion sizes of the starters were a little on the large size so may be worth slimming them down. I would also have prefered real homemade chips rather than oven chips. The drinks prices were about right for London (£6 for a large glass of wine) and so was the food (£20-25 for two courses).Service was up to scratch. The waitresses were friendly and attentive without being overbearing or false. I did not experience any of the problems other people seem to have had.The restaurant was pretty empty, which makes sense having seen the reviews. However based on my experience I would advise giving it a go!

I never review restaurants/pubs but after this terrible experience I feel compelled to do so.My partner had booked a table for us to celebrate my birthday with champagne on arrival as an extra surprise. Even though he had received a telephone call that morning confirming the booking and that champagne would be ready on arrival, the staff didn't seem to be expecting us nor were they very welcoming either. When we were seated, rather than the champagne waiting for us as requested, the waitress simply confirmed the pre-order and that she would go and get it - surprise ruined! Another member of staff then returned with the champagne and three glasses?! We then had the pleasure of sitting in a near empty restaurant and being ignored for pretty much 10 minutes. Staff wandered about aimlessly, chatting with what seemed their "off duty" colleagues on the table next to us but seemed uninterested in taking our food order. Eventually after giving up on anyone coming to us, my partner had to chase down a member of staff himself. The food was pleasant enough and of good portion size. The sour arrival though and just terrible customer service somewhat ruined the evening. Even after our starters had arrived the waiter took so long to return we had finished before he came to check if everything was ok.It felt like we were an inconvenience to their evening and unless you simply want a drink I wouldn't bother with this place.

I can see why so many people would socialise in this place. It's a nice modern looking venue, nice view of the quays in Canary Wharf, vibrant area, good selection of drinks. Can't knock the place if you want a decent drink with friends. The food though is a let down. The menu looks good, interesting options. I had the bubble and squeak to start which was sloppy, lumpy mash potato. For main I had the parmesan and herb crusted pork. The pork tasted nice however there was a big bone running through it which made it difficult to eat. The veg wasn't fresh, it was boil in the bag from frozen. The gravy was watery bisto.Despite the poor food we did hang around for further drinks as it is a nice establishment which pains me to rate it so low, but the food for the price paid and the standard you would expect was dire and it was all down to them cutting corners and using cheap ingredients.

Went to the one at West India Quay tonight, really disappointed. It was rainy and so the place is quiet, only 3-4 tables so the waitress is not even busy. Walked in, she told us to sit anywhere you like, then left us there for a good 15 minutes, didn't even come to ask us for the drink order, finally came back with a menu then went back to chat with the three men at the next table. Chatted for another 15 minutes while we kept looking her way to try to get her attention. Reluctantly she came and took order. The food was eventually brought to our table by the bus boy. She did not come by even once to check on us, didn't ask if we want coffee and dessert, we had to wave her over to give us the bill.Food was so so, the fish in fish n chip was over cooked, the prawn n chicken jambalaya was overly spicy, the "prawn" is just slightly larger than a salad shrimp. Will not go back again.

We wanted to go back to a different restaurant, but the menu was not looking too great so went here as it was a few doors down. The welcome was good and the menu fine. It was difficult to get some of the waitresses to understand us as there seemed to be a general lack of understanding of the English language. But once we got started the staff seemed to relax. We shared a starter which was chicken in tempura batter with a sweet chilli dip. It was lovely. The waiter asked if we wanted extra side plates and we said yes. He bought 2 over. About a minute later the One of the Eastern European waitresses came over to the table shouting that she had already put extra plates on the table under the napkins. I found myself apologising for not seeing them. Whether it was lack of understanding English or she was just a bit stressed out I don't know, because between the flashes of aggression there were flashes of perfect service. I later had the Salmon with new potatoes and fresh vegetables. They were all good except the potatoes, half of which were half raw? I asked if they could bring me half a portion of cooked potatoes and they did about 5 minutes after my meal was finished. I think the menu looks good but needs a chef to do it some justice.

Not the cheapest place but value for money was just right I think.

Great atmosphere at Henry's and good service from the bar staff. Got quite busy after 7PM but still managed to get served quickly. Reserved area suitable for the number of us who turned up, overall - very happy and would recommend/ return!

Had a really fun evening with friends at Henrys - we had reserved an outdoor area on a very sunny evening, and the Events Coordinator at Henrys,, Josephine, had ensured that the area was all set up and our pre-ordered drinks were all laid out for when we arrived. The staff were very friendly and helpful, ensuring everyone had a great time - I'd definitely book Henrys again for a get together with friends!

Saw this place on tripadvisor and decided to go there. We asked if we could pick seats ourselves for dinner or if we would be seated. We could pick ourselves so we did. (Now they knew we were new customers). After 10 minutes finally someone shows up at our table, only to ask if we want dinner. Yes, we already stated that at the start... 5 minutes later she shows up with the menu, but doesnt even take a drink order. I called her back a few minutes later to ask about a voucher on their website (which still shows the text to celebrate Christmas in style with them, while it's august now) and she had to check with a colleague. After that she passed our table at least 3 more times, nothing. We had already closed the menus to show we picked something. On top of all this they also brought the starters and mains at the same time at a neighbouring table. Needless to say, we got up and left. The food we saw looked fine, but no idea about the taste. To us, a rubbish place!

Poped in this place for a salad, was nice. Great staff, warm and welcoming! Great location by the river, easy peaking just across the way in the cinema car park. Was not there long, but it was nice. Thanks for a nice salad, and hope to see you soon!

We went to Henry's for dinner on a Saturday night. It was quiet as expected; however, this is a good thing as we tried to dine there before on a Thursday night and it was too much of a drinking place. We had lamb shank and roast beef for mains. Both had good flavour and decent portion of meat. As we barely had any room for dessert, we opted to share a lemon cheesecake. It was nice but they seemed to have forgotten the raspberries. All was washed down with a bottle of Sancerre, which I was pleased to see on the menu. We had 20% off food voucher from their website which made the meal a good value indeed.

Sat outside and ordered the food and drinks. The drinks were slow to come but in general the service was good. The food is basic pub food well priced and large portions.

Omit the Sunday Roast unless you wish to find a plate which resembles the battle field moments after the civil war. The products on it are, to say the least, unworthy to be the C brand of a third grade supermarket. The float of gravy is clashing hideously with the river of juice coming from the red cabbages (the liquid from the jar they were just in moments ago). Submersed you will find the meat resting on a sunken island of mash. If you wish to tackle this dish either dress in clothes you'll never wear again or ask a separate plate so you can see trough the blubber. My recommendation: stay away!

Very sensibly priced breakfast menu. Good quality food. Nice location so you can enjoy eating outside on a warm morning. We were staying in a very nearby hotel but were not prepared to pay their high price for breakfast so came here which was an excellent decision.

Took the family here for dinner and despite the location at Canary Wharf, the team were very good with family dining. The food was good quality pub food so nothing really special there but the setting was great. A sunny night, we had views of Canary Wharf over the docks and warm sunshine on the terrace until after 8:30pm. The staff were very obliging and made us feel very welcome. Happy to go back but could still be tempted by the other restaurants in this strip.

We visited Henry's on a work night out to welcome a new member of the team and made a reservation in advance. We were able to reserve a table outside to enjoy the nice weather which other bars in the area would not accommodate and ordered food and drink prior to our arrival. As a whole, we thought the venue was very nice, the food order came out on time if not earlier and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and all the party enjoyed it. One point for improvement would be that the service was slow at times when ordering more drinks however it was a Thursday night and it does get busy around Canary Wharf on most Thursday nights.

I am a regular customer at Henry's. The food and cocktails are fantastic. I havenever been disapointed with the service at Henry's.I have organised numerous staff events at Henry's which have always been successful. The staff are always willing to go the extra mile to help and make the event extra special. If you are ever in the local area, you must pop in! ;-)

We had a lunch here prior to going to the O2. It's clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff are reasonably friendly - however to run a tab you have to leave your bank card with the bartender which we found a bit disconcerting. The food was good and the prices were not too bad for London. The sun was shining so for us it made for a nice outdoor venue!

My boyfriend and I went there on a nice Saturday evening to enjoy an outdoor meal. The location is stunning with its view of West India Quay dock and the Canary Wharf skyline but, the quality of food and service is very poor. Our table was dirty and we had to ask twice to wipe the sauce that previous customers spread on the surface; probably the waiters are not accustomed to this requests as, at the end, we had just half of the table cleaned. We ordered two platters: antipasto meze and the meat platter but they looked more fruit salads considering the quantity of fruit compared to the limited portions of the main food. The cherry on the cake is that we had to wait for more than half hour to get a food that doesn't require too much preparation. We didn't bother too much about the long time as we were enjoying our evening but we wonder how they cope when the restaurant is full.We live in the area and with so many places available in Canary Wharf, definitely we won't go back to Henry's.

We were walking around Canary Wharf and wandered into the West India Quay area. There are lots of restaurants and bars to choose from, but we chose to sit at the sofas outside Henry's. The seats have sagged a bit over time and are not as comfortable as they look. We had a drink each and we shared the meat maze. We completely polished that off, as it was all very good quality and was good value too. I'm sure we will come back on another sunny day.

Finding a pub which is not totally packed at lunchtime is hard, but this place is quite quiet, probably as it is a few minutes walk from the main office buildings. Don't know what it's like after work hours. Simple menu, pleasant staff and not too expensive. They have a soup and a sandwich deal every day for £4.95 which is good (although technically it is soup and half a sandwich). Outside seating available but if you want somewhere quiet, inside is better.

I booked an area for a group night out for about 20 people, and we had a really good night. When I booked on the phone, the person I spoke to was really friendly and helpful. There was an offer of food or putting a tab behind the bar, but not at all pushy. Whe we arrived we were allocated our own waiter, who came an introduced himself, and checked in a couple of times to make sure we had all we needed, but wasn't at all intrusive.

Have been to Henry’s on a number of occasions and they have never failed to deliver in terms of drinks, food, atmosphere and service. Recently organised an event for up to 100 people being hosted by six individuals Josephine made the process really easy with her attention to the details and getting 20% off the pre-ordered food and drinks meant the event was affordable for the hosts and very good value. On the day all went as planned, the downstairs bar was an excellent space for our party size, drinks were laid out as requested, the food arrived on time and was hot and tasty, the staff were friendly and efficient and everyone had a great time. Thanks to all at Henry’s for helping to make our event a success. I will definitely return and would highly recommend.

I reserved an area at Henry's on a Thursday night for approx 40 people for our team drinks. The area reserved more than met expectations as it was large enough for our needs and included tables for those that wanted to talk over snacks. Usually in the wharf you are lucky to get standing room on a Thursday. I was able to place a food and drinks order in advance with a helpful member on staff who also talked me through the wine list. The food arrived at the time required and was hot and tasty. The atmosphere was relaxed, it wasn't too loud and the bar staff were very friendly and helpful. We normally go to Browns for our team drinks but we will definitely go back to Henry's.

2 of us went here for dinner on a Saturday night after receiving a 2 for 1 (241) voucher from the nearby Cineworld cinema complex. We had reserved a table, but probably didn’t need to (although during the working week, with many local bank workers using the venue, this may be more necessary). The waitress from Eastern Europe greeted us and seated us. As we had eaten a good lunch we only wanted one course each. One chose the beefburger (which he chose with salad in place of fries – this dish was free of charge because of the cinema 241 voucher) and the other chose the pork escalope, served with sauted new potatoes and red cabbage (£11.95). The burger was ok. The escalope was not exceptional and the red cabbage was served lukewarm, although the plate had been warmed. This is standard pub grub and good value with the 2 for 1 offering.

I visited Henry's on a Friday evening after receiving an email from a colleague advising if you book a table for 10 people you receive a bottle of free prosecco. The bar has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the bar staff are very attentive. In particular I would make reference to the bar man called Joe who made sure our glasses never ran dry. A great evening for everyone and I will return.

The atmosphere was great, the area that was reserved for us was a good size. Food was lovely and all the team commented on how the had a great time. Staff friendly and helpful. The best part for me was working withing a budget, so the staff put a menu and drinks package together to tailor to my budget which worked out just great.

Waited a good 20 minutes to be served. Staff pretending to be busy, but weren't. Very attentive when did decide to serve us. The mezze platter was very economic with its portions. It wasn't really enough for one person, let alone two and that should have been made known to us. Very few vegetarian options. Won't be returning.

Henry's is conveniently located in Cabot Square on the canal in West India Quay and I ducked in mostly to avoid the rain. But what I found was great pub food in a café like atmosphere (you are seated and a menu brought to you; wine is as prevalent as beer). The wait staff was very nice, but best of all was the delicious burger and chips (french fries). I am not a fan of french fries normally because in the US too often they're greasy and overly salty. The ones at Henry's tasted like potatoes, and were not at all greasy. I'd go back in a minute!

Went to Henry's with some friends recently and had a great time. Lots of options on the menu and everyone liked the meal and portions were rather large. The waitress was efficient and friendly. The ambiance was just right for a casual night out. A good deal. The toliets were a bit rough as one other reviewer noted, or otherwise I would give 5 stars.

The food is good but nothing special, I wouldn’t go here for a date but the atmosphere is suitable for a group of friends I could imagine as it’s almost a sort of diner vibe. Also be warned that you’re expected to order on an app as some people aren’t a fan of that.

Food was great as usual also like that this restaurant uses their own in-house delivery persons rather than rely on Just Eat delivery drivers who are not delivering customer orders and later pretend it was delivered on the app!
