Friendly service but chips excessively soft & oily.

On holiday from Hereford in our motorhome we stayed a mere 5 minutes from this lovely Fish and Chip shop. There was a lovely atmosphere, such a friendly welcome and the food was delicious.

We went in after a long days walk with our dog. We’re in Cornwall on holiday and are taking part in a charity walk for the MND charity. The staff were super friendly and we were chatting away. On telling them what we are doing they said they’d like to make a donation and did so. Truly grateful, lovely friendly people and when we got back to lodge the cod and chips was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend anyone! Thank you Heamoor fish and chips 😊

Friendly service, authentic experience, and delicious food

Went 30 mins before closing hoping to just get some last bits, they were so friendly and cooked food fresh for us. Food tasted wonderful and the atmosphere was very inviting. Very affordable also!! Will be visiting again!

OMG!!!!!!! Excellent fish and chips probably one of the best I've had and a mega portion with a drop of curry sauce. Highly recommended if your in this area 10/10

Visited here after being at Trengwainton and the welcome was excellent. Ate the fish and chips in the car and had to go back to the shop and thank them for the best fish and chips that we have tasted for years. The batter was so crispy and the chips were excellent. Such a shame that they are at the other end of Cornwall to us. Will recommend to anyone who is going to that area. Many thanks

Recently visited after staying close by for a night. Food was wonderful and fresh. Staff were lovely and welcoming and was more than helpful advising us the best way to visit St Ives. We hope to visit again in the future

Oh my goodness!!!! This fish and chip shop is THE BEST EVER!!! It’s obvious why they don’t need to be open many hours! Sooooo good! My kids would line up and wait an hour for this quality! #

40 minutes wait for Fish and Chips. Absolute joke. The guy who owns this hardly opens. Just 3 nights a week. Why the locals use it is beyond me. Fish and chips are OK, not the best in Penzance by any means. I'll never frequent the place again.

Amazing fish and chips, so good we had to go again before the end of our holiday and the chap who served my husband remembered he had visited earlier in the week and was very friendly, asking about our holiday. Never experienced that in my life. We'll be back next year.

This is a 5* place but I've knocked off 1 * this time (see below) Ordered (for 3) Regular Haddock Scampi (came with a Tartare sauce sachet thrown in). Small Cod Large Chips and - as we don't get them much round our area - a cheese Fryit. Quality of everything was brilliant Service - we arrived at peak time - it was out of necessity slow because we had to wait for it to be cooked Fresh & they were super busy with local customers - the family team seemed to be working Flat out and were really friendly So why knock off the 1 star? The Small cod was about 1/4 to 1/3 of the amount of fish Vs the Regular Haddock So Skip the Small Cod and just have Regular and this place would be rated 5* Fab

Freshly cooked food to order but not a long wait at all even so the owners are so happy and friendly it's very welcoming and relaxed. Food wise the Regular Fish had amazing tasty light batter and was quite chunky unfortunately still had skin on but only 1 or 2 chippies in PZ seem to remove this very tasty though however the Large Chips although lovely chips Are not large at all in fact more like a small portion food was slightly greasier than others around here ..£11 all in was decent enough would recommend Seaview over these though sorry. But will definitely try again.

A stunning example of Cornish hospitality. We visited twice in a week whilst down on holiday originally due to the outstanding reviews from others. We weren’t disappointed on arrival to find everything cooked fresh and to be greeted by the extremely welcoming owner whom we had great conversation with. Everything is cooked fresh to order and all the items we had from the cod, battered sausage, chips and a new one for us the cheese fryit’s were absolutely delicious - all menu items are reasonably priced and well worth the money. Having sampled a few chippies during our stay in Cornwall I can confirm this is the best you will find, it’s well worth a drive too even if you aren’t nearby! Remember to plan ahead with the opening times as you don’t want to be the unfortunate soul knocking at 19:55 when they are closing up. We will definitely be back the next time we’re down. From a slightly sunburnt Londoner.

What a lucky find, I have been living in this area for a year now and occasionally get fish and chips from Jeremy’s in St Just however, one Saturday night Jeremy’s was closed so I googled another chip shop and found Heamoor Chip Shop. It was a small place with a convenience store next door which was good for getting drinks. Prices were good and the staff friendly and happy. There is a nice wide bench/window seat where I waited for my order. The small cod was plenty for one, it was crispy and not greasy. The chips were a good sized portion too and again were not too greasy.

havnt tasted fish and chips like this in a very long time freshly cooked ,the fish was melt in the mouth with a lovley thin batter ,and the chips took me back to how they tasted in the 70,s so morish,well done to the owners ty the brummie

The best fish n chips we have ever had around the world! Beutiful fresh fish battered and cooked in front of you, chips were perfect too. The owner was great and chatty and knew all the locals who came in. Willbe back the next time we visit the UK for sure.

Went here on a Friday evening in August. The prices were very reasonable, the staff were very friendly, the food was great, and the portion sizes were good. I would definitely recommend this chippy and would go back there.

Best fish and chips EVER! We were staying in a local holiday cottage for the week and came here the first night for something quick. We were not disappointed. They cooked everything fresh which was lovely and everything tasted delicious. The staff were also very friendly giving us ideas on where to visit.

This was our 1st time using this fish and chip shop and we will definitely be going back. The service was good and the owners friendly. Everything cooked to order. My partner is fussy and we have tried numerous places. The fish and chips were lovely. Definitely recommend.

We did use this a lot when we first came down here 2yrs ago, but the quality seems to have dropped off of late, we even got cold chips, maybe that was because we were maybe their last customer, there was always a line of customers waiting outside too, which also has diminished?

Besides seeing my beloved family, a potato fritter from Heamoor Chip Shop is the highlight of visits to Penzance! Damon and all the other staff are always so friendly, they are people I consider family friends! My uncle, auntie and gran get fish and chips here every Saturday (seemingly without fail). When I go to visit them, I get to join in on this delicious dinnertime tradition and I LOVE it! Their food has been spot on, consistently, for years and years. When you go to Wetherspoons or macdonalds, you half expect your food to be cold, or otherwise lacking. You will never be dissatisfied after a trip to Heamoor Chip Shop though! I discovered potato fritters at Heamoor Chip shop, and I won't have one elsewhere cause any other would disappoint me. Thanks for all the delicious meals you've made for my family and I. Not the cheapest, but absolutely delicious. The fish was cooked beautifully still lovely and moist, nice crisp thin batter and the chips were really really good, can't fault it.

Sadly, our fish & chips were disappointing tonight. The chips were soggy & the fish batter well overdone. Also, there was quite a bit of grease in the paper. The fish has been a uniform shape the last two weeks? They used to be so good.

I allow myself real fish and chips once a month, and because I don't want to be disappointed we always get it from here. The fish is always cooked freshly for you, the chips are real, the portions are generous and you can call and order ahead. Perfect. darn, now I want chips!

Really friendly and very clean, this little gem is tucked away at the back of Penzance, but well worth hunting for. We had cod and chips and the pieces of cod were enormous and really tasty (they only went in the fryer when I ordered them so I know they were fresh!). The chips were equally delicious, we had a large between us and our collie had to finish them as there were too many for us to eat them all! No complaints from collie about this mind you!! Will definitely have to visit again before our holiday is over.

Hicimos una nota de este fish and chips antes de ir de vacaciones porque mi compañero perdido mucho pescado y patatas fritas y éste es libre de gluten. El dueño era muy acogedor y nos hizo sin gluten pescado gratis y patatas fritas. Eran muy sabrosos y bien vale la pena recomendar.

We always enjoy the fish and chips from this place. Fleshy, succulent cod in a light, crispy batter and generous portions of chips. Living nearby is an added bonus! Highly recommended.

Me quedé muy decepcionado con mi noche de sábado Cod y patatas, no observar los paquetes de así que no fue hasta que llegamos a la casa que vi el tamaño de las raciones, en particular el pescado que era decepcionantemente pequeño.

Great little fish and chip shop, occasionally very busy but this is a sign of how good & fresh the food is.My wife has gluten free fish which she loves and not many chippys around sell.Only downfall they sold out of cod very easy one evening. A little disappointed I had to drive elsewhere. Friendly staff and great food

By far the very best homemade fish cakes I have ever tasted. This fish and chip shop is comfortably the best in the Penzance area. Not expensive and great value!

I stayed at nearby Nanceglos House (National Trust, part of Tregwainton) and we wanted a nearby place for a bite to eat. We did not fancy the well regarded Sportmans Arms and spied this place a couple of minutes down the road in the village centre. The owner was very friendly as were the other customers. We ordered cod and chips at about £5. The portion was a good size as opposed to huge but the outstanding thing aside from the price which for us Londoners is amazing was the quality of the fish which was thick and white and without skin and the batter that was perfectly light and crisp. The chips were also delicious and not greasy. A great find.Check opening times before you go - from memory open lunch and dinner Wednesday through Saturday. There is a bench to sit on but basically this is a takeaway only.
