Have visited here numerous times and always really liked it. But today I would not be coming back to this garden centre. They have a gift wrapping ‘service’ in which you can get your items wrapped for whatever occasion for £2.99 so I chose to have this service for my brother in laws birthday present. The lady at the till looked in total shock because I asked to have it gift wrapped? So asked the lady which I presume is the main wrapper to do this. She made me feel so uncomfortable must of had a bad day at work so rude, when asking what colours throwing the scissors on the table in anger. Why have a gift wrapping service if you’re going to be so rude for one and so shocked to be asked to wrap. What kind of service is that. I walked off with my wrapped gift and the two lady’s was chatting about me and the lady was getting so angry. So unprofessional I will not be coming here again total disgusting.

Love this garden centre, its full of amazing items for home as well as the garden. There is a range of home cooking products my wife goes mad for. We visited a lot over christmas and they do in-store coupons which we collected 2 for our free cuddly toy. Kids took part in the hunt the bear challenge in store too. The cafe sets the standard compared to most food courts. Amazing fresh made food and sweet treats. If you get the chance just stop in for lunch regardless of the shopping. I will be in the near future. Lots of parking, shares a carpark with hobbycraft, although it does still get very busy. Always found a space, so far.

A very good store. It’s amazing at Christmas, we come here every year at Christmas! It’s a very good place to go for Christmas stuff, and at all times of the year, it’s great for gifts, garden stuff, or just to pass the time! However, the stuff is rather expensive. Also, the restaurant isn’t great, I’ve never come in here and enjoyed my food, so won’t be going there again. Overall though, I recommend the actual store but not the restaurant.

Lovely popular garden centre and shop. Excellent facilities. The restaurant has a very wide choice, in different sections. The vast array of cakes is amazing! The only downside is queuing to pay, getting cutlery, water, finding a seat if having a hot meal. Can be pricey for what is a canteen where the customer has to do all the fetching and carrying.

Restaurant located within the chain of Haskins garden centre, this was the west end branch on a busy lunch time leading up to Christmas. Very busy at this time of year and welcomely located while buying those presents. The restaurant has a wide range of choices of cold and hot food to cater for all sorts of tastes, including cakes, sandwiches, pizza, carvery and the hot food menu. We opted for the 'panini', for a hot light choice. One Christmas special and the other a chorizo and chicken. Both were generously filled and freshly warmed when ordered. The Christmas special contained turkey, sausage, stuffing and brie, you can taste all the components, all tasted great together, the panini bread is ample, beautifully crusty with a soft center. Served with some very nice fries, salad and coleslaw. Very good value for money, filling and tasted great. Would happily recommend. Visited 4th Dec 2024, for a festive lunch, I had the bacon brie and chili jam toastie served with chips and salad, coleslaw. My wife had the carrot and coriander soup. Soup was OK. My toastie was OK filling wise, not the most generous, the salad on the other hand was horrendous, not washed at all, had one bite and it was all grit. Not good. Bit disappointed this trip as generally they were good,

Always worth a visit lots of interesting items to view and buy and large garden centre, great cafe and restaurant, always busy, Hobbycraft located next to Haskins, easy to find just off Junction 7, M27, then take turning towards West End They have definitely upped their game in the restaurant. We had rare roast beef on sourdough bread and to finish a Dorset apple cake wedge with a latte, which was slightly disappointing, my relation had a black Americano Visited again Sunday. If anything, it was even more impressive We went for the rare roast on sourdough bread Plus , a wedge of Toffee Apple Dorset Cake Nearly succumbed to a georgous Sunday roast Maybe something for the later in the year, nearer to the holiday season

Sizeable garden centre, plenty of gifts, ornaments, garden furniture, garden lighting, bird food (and gardening stuff!). Also a large cafe with hot and cold food. Not always a huge range of outdoor / house plants compared to other similarly sized garden centres - it depends on the season. Dogs gave the restaurant a one-star 👎, Not dog friendly at the restaurants area, most garden centre I visit are happy to have dogs in there restaurant but we had to sit in outside at Haskins, where tables and chairs were wet and had not been dry for for customer. Very disappointing. When I made the customer service staff aware, they told me to contact their head office as they don't listen to us and said lot's customer say the same. Toilets 3 star , Baby changing area 1 star in men's. The men's toilets need a better clean , and the baby changing unit was not clean. Did not wish to change my baby on it. Restaurant 3 star, Not well organised, under staff may be or not working smart ?. Not improve the same issue when I stop there. The restaurant looks good and was nice but a little over price. Shame to see one of the staff drop a cleaning cloth onto the floor and pick it up and put it on the table where she was prepared for food. Garden area 5 stars , plants , flower well stock and in good condition. Good range of plants. Parking easy. Staff friendly.

Went to the restaurant at Hedge End yesterday.. we were very disappointed with our Sunday Roast… only Turkey or Beef … the beef was very undercooked … still bleeding 🩸 profusely .. and I like mine pink .. but this was red . The turkey we chose was ok … the veg wasn’t proper cooked, the gravy really greasy , and by the time we got to eat it was cold . Sorry but it’s the worst one we’ve ever eaten there. I did complain but the staff couldn’t be bothered and are obviously very unhappy on there job… didn’t even acknowledge my complaint… A very expensive dinner at £33.90 that we didn’t eat Nowhere near as good as Ferndown branch in Bournemouth

UPDATE: Mettricks have now decided its acceptable to fly tip their commercial rubbish directly outside the entrance to a neighbouring residential apartment building. It has been there weeks. Nice atmosphere and location but the drinks are overpriced, especially the milkshake. Nearly £4 for basically a nesquik in a mason jar. Coffee is a bit expensive here as well for what it is. Update: reduced to 1 star after being charged £2.50 for a can of coke to take away
