Haskins is a really nice garden centre. Well presented and maintained. Nice visual merchandising and some great products. The cafe is also nice with a lot of choice. It was always somewhere to get a good lunch. Lately however, I personally feel the prices for the food are getting a bit out of hand. Lunch has become overpriced and I can no longer justify returning as often. So while lunch for two is now the same price as a meal out on a weekend evening with a family of four, it's 3 stars.

I'm regular for the restaurant over time food gone expensive but low in quality especially sweet treats like cakes seem bit dry fudge cake is not really a fudge cake it's dry baked with chocolate powder and hints of butter cream on it, Victoria sponge is also very dry , scones are like a bread they not supposed to be spongy like a bread I admit only thing was nice is eclair. Also staff don't know what is suitable vegetarian always run to the back of the restaurant to get the book to check and there's looks are not friendly not all but some.itia helpful if they labeled stuff it will be helpful for allergie sufferers too

Great centre offering a wide variety of plants, (though expensive), gardening tools, and most things for the garden. They also have many things for kids. They have a fantastic restaurant and great staff but need to improve on staffing at checkouts. We ordered food but the only place to pay was also serving coffee, so by the time you waited for 5 or 6 people to order and get coffee 3 of the meals had cooled considerably. Overall a good experience

As someone who also works in hospitality, I was genuinely shocked and disappointed by how I was treated by the middle-aged server with glasses at the hot drinks section. I politely asked for cold water, and in response, she gave me a dirty, dismissive look and deliberately filled my bottle with boiling hot water without saying a word. It came across as passive-aggressive and completely unprofessional. I understand everyone has bad days — I’ve had them too — but there is absolutely no excuse for reacting to a simple, polite request in such a hostile and potentially dangerous way. I nearly burned my mouth trying to take a sip, and my bottle is now warped and unusable. I’ll need to buy a new one as a result. What made it worse was the clear impression that she assumed, because I’m young, I wouldn’t say anything or take it further. That’s both patronising and unacceptable. I’ve eaten here a couple of times before and the other members of staff have always been pleasant and welcoming, which makes this experience all the more disappointing. Unfortunately, after this incident, I won’t be coming back again.

Sizeable garden centre, dog-friendly, plenty of gifts, ornaments, garden furniture, lighting, bird food (and gardening stuff!). Also a large cafe with hot and cold food. A-Z plant section isn't always kept stocked, but plenty of seasonal plants. From ~late September they have a huge selection of Christmas decs, lights, etc. Prices are fair and similar to most other centres. Lots of parking. The Hobbycraft next door is also good.

Food was awful- cold had toasted sandwiches only toasted on one side! Ham/cheese and tomato had spring onions in ok if you like onions! Chips were cold so they replaced them for them to be cold too! £24 on a lunch that was awful! Maybe suggest doing every day favourite sandwiches. Tried their toasted tea cakes in the past & same issue- cold!

Nothing was to much trouble for the staff, so very helpful and patient. One member of staff went and collected some all purpose soil for us and she took it out to the car. Lovely spacious shop, with seasonal gifts available at certain times of the year. Lots of Easter and mother day things on show. We went to the restaurant, some of the food is pricey but looks and tasted fresh. Scones are very popular, they had fruit, plain and cheese scones. Lots of seating places with plenty of room. Very clean, tidy and friendly staff.

The Garden centre is lovely - tidy and a good range of products/plants. The reason for 3 stars is the price of the restaurant... £60 for 4 people to eat a jacket potato, and a cup of tea.... Not only this, but the lady serving the jacket potatoes was incredibly rude. She tried forcing one of the food heat protectors onto the plate, despite it clearly not fitting, and when I politely said "oh don't worry, I don't need one" she tutted, walked away, and began clearly gossiping with her colleague (who was meant to be serving my mum), laughing, and raising eyebrows.

Have visited here numerous times and always really liked it. But today I would not be coming back to this garden centre. They have a gift wrapping ‘service’ in which you can get your items wrapped for whatever occasion for £2.99 so I chose to have this service for my brother in laws birthday present. The lady at the till looked in total shock because I asked to have it gift wrapped? So asked the lady which I presume is the main wrapper to do this. She made me feel so uncomfortable must of had a bad day at work so rude, when asking what colours throwing the scissors on the table in anger. Why have a gift wrapping service if you’re going to be so rude for one and so shocked to be asked to wrap. What kind of service is that. I walked off with my wrapped gift and the two lady’s was chatting about me and the lady was getting so angry. So unprofessional I will not be coming here again total disgusting.

Love this garden centre, its full of amazing items for home as well as the garden. There is a range of home cooking products my wife goes mad for. We visited a lot over christmas and they do in-store coupons which we collected 2 for our free cuddly toy. Kids took part in the hunt the bear challenge in store too. The cafe sets the standard compared to most food courts. Amazing fresh made food and sweet treats. If you get the chance just stop in for lunch regardless of the shopping. I will be in the near future. Lots of parking, shares a carpark with hobbycraft, although it does still get very busy. Always found a space, so far.

A very good store. It’s amazing at Christmas, we come here every year at Christmas! It’s a very good place to go for Christmas stuff, and at all times of the year, it’s great for gifts, garden stuff, or just to pass the time! However, the stuff is rather expensive. Also, the restaurant isn’t great, I’ve never come in here and enjoyed my food, so won’t be going there again. Overall though, I recommend the actual store but not the restaurant.

Lovely popular garden centre and shop. Excellent facilities. The restaurant has a very wide choice, in different sections. The vast array of cakes is amazing! Restaurant located within the chain of Haskins garden centre, this was the west end branch on a busy lunch time leading up to Christmas. Very busy at this time of year and welcomely located while buying those presents. The restaurant has a wide range of choices of cold and hot food to cater for all sorts of tastes, including cakes, sandwiches, pizza, carvery and the hot food menu. We opted for the 'panini', for a hot light choice. One Christmas special and the other a chorizo and chicken. Both were generously filled and freshly warmed when ordered. The Christmas special contained turkey, sausage, stuffing and brie, you can taste all the components, all tasted great together, the panini bread is ample, beautifully crusty with a soft center. Served with some very nice fries, salad and coleslaw. Very good value for money, filling and tasted great. Would happily recommend. Visited 4th Dec 2024, for a festive lunch, I had the bacon brie and chili jam toastie served with chips and salad, coleslaw. My wife had the carrot and coriander soup. Soup was OK. My toastie was OK filling wise, not the most generous, the salad on the other hand was horrendous, not washed at all, had one bite and it was all grit. Not good. Bit disappointed this trip as generally they were good,
