Very good food, drink and place..recommended if you too eat or just hangout enjoy the beer..

I recently visited your pub, and I have to say it’s one of the best Greene King pubs I’ve ever been to. There’s plenty of space, and it never feels overcrowded. The food portions are fantastic, and the service is truly top-notch. I spent several hours there with friends over the course of a few days, and I can confidently say I would recommend this place to anyone. A great experience overall!

Brilliant atmosphere, food and service! Great team that make you feel very welcome. Good value food and drinks, would highly recommend. Karaoke is great fun and the shuffleboard is perfect for a date night!

We had a young man called Ayman serving us, he was lovely and seemed really passionate about his job which overall made the experience better! I had the katsu chicken burger which I would recommend and my girl had the cheese and bacon burger which she spoke about the whole way home!

Came to watch a boxing match and had a server called Ayman serving us. He was extremely cheerful and good to talk to even throwing in a couple of drink recommendations which were 10/10 and will have us back often.

We went to watch the football a few days ago and the pub had a great atmosphere with great food & drinks! As I was there I found the staff very helpful and I thought They had great customer service!!

I was visiting Southampton for the weekend and I loved the atmosphere and service. I was being served by someone called Ayman and he brought a very good energy and was very friendly to talk to.

Wonderful pub with great atmosphere! Bar staff were helpful as usual, especially the guy with glasses, they all provide excellent attentive service and will be sure to be there again!

Had some great times here, always good service from the bartenders. One of them, named Ayman, is always friendly and swift like Taylor with his service.

Served by a lovely gentleman named Ayman who gave us great service all evening. Found out he was also a huge Tottenham fan!! All round great chap. Will definitely be visiting again😁

Really conveniently situated and well priced. Was previously a Wetherspoons and now Green King. Food 'hit and miss'...had perfectly prepared said starter and when reordering the next day was rubber! No real apology from bar staff with the feedback, who said 'he'll tell the chef"... yeah! Drinks well priced and as we were there mid afternoon, quite quiet. Toilets clean- what a pleasure. Would recommend... though suspect in busy times going to be full of drinking students as there are specials for them. Still was nice for us as an older couple.

Ended up here during a cruise stop looking for fish and chips. Was served with mushi peas and tasted good.

Great service, good pool tables, and affordable.

Came in today (Sunday). Ordered the beef roast. The beef was perfect, haven't had decent beef from a pub in ages. Perfect combination with a perfectly poured guiness. Will be back again!!

What an amazing pub! I arrived around 2 to watch the rugby, Amazing atmosphere with some really good pints on offer. Absolutely loved the Level head ipa. Food again of a fantastic quality. Decided to order the katsu chicken burger… wow what a meal. Highly recommend!

Had to put 1 star not that we had chance to try the food seemed a nice place arrived 7pm Friday night went to order food told will be at least an hour. Decided that is OK then ordered Fish and chips only to be told no Fish and chips so gave up and left went to another pub along road had Fish and chips in about 10 minutes ????

My family and I came in for food we had the katsu chicken burger and the steak ale pie. Well valued and really tasty. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The shuffleboard tables are really fun to play!

came to play shuffleboard and it was great, called beforehand to check availability and the staff were really nice and picked up my call straight away, door team were fantastic and the DJ was a surprise i wasn’t expecting! a fantastic night and will be coming again

Came and enjoyed a saturday night with my friends, amazing student deals it was so cheap!!! Had such a great time we ended up staying all night. The Staff were fantastic and so chatty and welcoming

Came for lunch, but all the items we wanted were off the menu. Staff member was indifferent and there was no apology. Settled for 'small dishes' of turkey croquettes which were extremely dry and, to be honest, pretty vile. 2 croquettes each and 2 cokes= £20. Not impressed, Scholars....

Regular customer. Autistic. Told kitchen closes at 9pm all days but Sunday. Went in 8.45 and told it was closed. Please can you stick to the times I was told as I spend a lot of money with going every evening. And the staff have been wonderful but I time when I turn up based on the kitchen times I am told as the food I eat there is the only food I keep down due to anorexia. Please make it clear exactly what days and times the kitchen closes. As I was told 9pm when I asked so that I was sure. Other than Sunday when it closes at 7pm. Please stick to times given so someone like me is not left confused.. Thankyou

We went there after a football match. Myself and another friend were let in. My others three were not. They claim it was from “anti Bournemouth” chants ( we went to an Eastleigh match) which cctv could not prove because it didn’t happen. The management and door staff were disgusting and I will not stop talking about this until something is done about it. Even door staff at Yates and O’Neills said it was blatant racism but couldn’t do anything about it because they are run by the same company. Anyone who has any self respect would avoid.

During the day, a quiet place to spend time with laptop or newspaper. Pub food at reasonable prices. Evenings or sports fixtures - loud and busy.

Had the best vegan chilli ever. Abtin and James cooked rhe most delucious mushroom chilli. Served by lovely Amber. Really friendly staff. Will defintely come again.

The roast chicken was excellent as this is the only Greene king which does chicken Sunday roasts. The staff were friendly and prepared our table with Christmas decor. The red wine bottle was good value for money.

Had a great Christmas gathering here, food was good, on time and plenty of beverage choices. A good atmosphere and well decorated for Christmas, the only downside was the volume of music as the night progressed when the DJ turned up.

Cannot praise this venue enough. We went for a work Xmas meal. No cost to reserve but still treated like we had paid upfront with crackers and sweetie boxes. It was a lovely surprise!! Lucy and Kieran were fantastic Food was fantastic... especially their festive menu. Food and drinks were all decent prices. Blue light discount was an extra bonus. Will definitely be returning

Loved this place a Saturday with a Christmas dinner and delicious sprouts.

Visited at a very quiet time for breakfast. As it was quiet, it had a chilled vibe. Breakfast menu was clear and when delivered, lovely.

First visit to the Scholars Arms, we went for drinks only, service was good, staff were friendly and polite. May go for food next time we head to Southampton.

Good place for a drink (and food) whilst watching Sunday football on sky. Plenty of seating with a screen (volume off) never too far away. Good mix of people makes it a more enjoyable experience.

The BBQ chicken was searing hot (microwave?) but drier than Tutankhamen and the only thing that made it remotely edible was the gallons of BBQ sauce.... Great pub and drinks but awful food unless you want chips, these were good

Brilliant place. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good range of drinks. My only complaint was the toilets were absolutely vile. They smelt. They were dirty. Most were blocked. That was the same for the woman’s and the men’s as my boyfriend has said the same thing about the men’s bathroom. Toilets aside it is a good place for a nice evening.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Scholar Arms in Southampton, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a cozy meal. I ordered the fish and chips, and it was simply outstanding. The fish was perfectly battered and fried to golden perfection, flaky and tender on the inside. Paired with crispy chips, it was a classic dish done right. But what truly took it to the next level was the curry gravy. Rich, flavorful, and just the right amount of spice, it added a unique twist that I didn’t know I needed. It complemented the fish beautifully and made for a delightful combination. The service was attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. Love this place. Cheapest place in town with a good food menu and a big selection of drinks.

Had steak and steak and ale pie, both nice food with friendly service. Almost empty on Thursday evening, smelled damp in there.

The food is actually really quite good for the price point and there's ample bar staff to ensure you're not waiting an hour for a beer, they have plenty of pool tables and even 2 shufl boards, you can rent the balls at low cost and enjoy that. Also it's a great venue in centre of Southampton to watch football or rugby and have a few beers! Also Very student friendly in terms of deals and money off. Great place.

Great service by Josh behind the bar and Amber serving food. I felt slightly guilty, having asked Amber to clean our table and then moved to another one 😬 but she was still great when she delivered our food. I like Greene King steak and ale pies, but for some reason, all pies are not equal 🤔 but good 👍 but best ones are here 🙂

Food was cracking, had the burger, and a steak, service was swift, and there was a friendly atmosphere.

Kieran and James were absolutely fabulous. Lovely recommendations on their different cocktails!. Went for the cherry bakewell which was swiftly made and tasted glorious. They seemed so enthusiastic and happy about their place of work!
