Oasis Bar in Southampton

Been here a few times in the last few weeks, very nice atmosphere. Great choice of drinks and fairly priced, can't ask for more.

Excellent pub, city centre, suited to old and young alike. Friendly staff and all round peasant experience.

Always go on Monday nights for a couple of beers with my bestie 😁

Didn’t even want to give this a one star but it wouldn’t allow me to do zero. The security company that this place uses is letting this place down. Horrible guy on security who thinks he’s god, and attacked my father in law without provocation all because he sat in a regulars seat. He broke my in laws cheek bone and told my girlfriend he could kill people with a punch. If that’s what you want protecting your bar, then more fool you. I have reported this incident to the police as totally unnecessary and unfair. My father in law now needs surgery all because a guy who thinks he can conquer the world shows off to his colleagues. He’s aggressive, rude and picks and chooses who he wants to attack. Horrible man.

Friendly service, but somehow the beer wasn't great and the atmosphere just wasn't for me.

This review is a little unfair on the actual staff inside as I was unable to get inside and heres why the 1 star applies. On Saturday night after myself and my stag party had a curry next door, we went to Oasis for some drinks. None of us were intoxicated or loud on the approach to the bar, but for some unknown reason the jumped up power crazy bouncer on the door took a dislike to a couple of us instantly. After providing 3 lots of ID, he claimed it wasn't good enough as I looked a little younger in my ID. My licences are all legal and inline with DVLA AND DVSA standards, just my photo didn't present a beard unlike my face does now. His attitude was appalling towards us and gave no genuine reason for his refusal. He clearly lacks any form of people skills and with a little arm band on his inflated little arms considers himself a powerhouse. If anyone asks me for recommendations in Southampton for drinks, this establishment would be one I'd advise avoiding.

When in on a Saturday night after being in a few busy places round Southampton. We where welcomed in with a smile and the atmosphere was calm and relaxed compared to other places.. will definitely be visiting again soon .

Nice service, no problems with security. The alcohol is cheap and the people behind the bar are fantastic. The place needs renovation but the impression is good. Toilets most importantly clean. I recommend

Great bar owned by a very progressive friendly couple .Bar staff are very jolly and attentive .the whole atmosphere is one of relaxed inclusiveness straight gay or just a bit mixed up all welcome here ,laid back music and a brilliant outdoor seating area means it's great for people watching and watching the near misses on the badly laid out road system .happy hour Mon to Friday 4-7 and all day Sunday three quid for on tap beers at that price you can afford to buy the bar staff a drink .we love to support this independently owned and run bar thankyou oasis

Place looked nice so me and a friend arrived dressed nicely but the doorman said we had drank too much…even though we were sober.

Very quiet when we went in on a Friday evening but could imagine it can get busy.

Fist off, it’s called “oasis”, but there is no Oasis music. Really disappointing if you like your 90s rock n roll. Secondly, we pulled up a couple of seats to sit around a table that was free when a barmaid approached. She told us we need to move because we are a fire hazard. Really disappointed with this bar. Won’t go back.

Don't have fun and don't sing you might have a good time according to the the barmaid with the male under her eye. Really nice place but seems if don't fit the mould of being alternative and a free spirit your not welcome

Terrible experience . Went here after a lovely works family meal which consisted of couples , to be confronted by the rudest bouncer I’ve ever experienced in my life . Eventually after asking us a million questions and being very very passive aggressive he did let us in. The only entertainment we had was afterwards we had a drink outside and watched how much of a clown this man Is as he strutted in and out of the bar . He is aggressive sexist and very unwelcoming .

im not happy with this place i went there with 3 mates one of them it was his birthday and it was the first pup we decided to go to that night ...i went to the toilet at some point come back sat down security came over stole are drinks and told us to lave because one of my m8s was a little bit loud all thay had to say is keep it down lads we weren't even drunk ...so if u want a good time dont go to this place bloody thieves 😤lol avoid this place at all cost thay lost me as a customer and all my mates . and i hope menny people will read this and will be wise and stay away from Here

I went to oasis 12 August and about 1.30am was refused drinks for me and 2 friends then about 2 45 I was again I was refused saying it be illegal to serve me and you served someone not 10 seconds before plus who allows a member of staff who not working to get drunk

Boss man bouncer at the door clearly runs the place and absolutely smashed it. How often do you find security that wasn't a school dropout with family problems? I'm not sure. But i reckon you guys found the only person in the entire of Southampton with a brain so I respect that.

Had a weeks stay in Southampton, first bar we went to, found the place so good made it our base and started most days there. They have the distancing nailed, very safe. Bar staff excellent and management on their game, local regulars also friendly and welcoming.

1950s pub/bar offering one cask. On my visit the cask was Old Speckled Hen. On a Sunday all draught pints are £3. It's a small to medium size corner location bar, with a patio area out front. No food, just drinks. Quite plain, but not unpleasant. Has the look and feel of a Continental bar, except for the very loud drunk taking advantage of the cheap Sunday drinks. Barman laid back, other customers mostly middle aged men on their own, with one married couple at the bar chatting to the barman. The place could be acceptable if it wasn't for the drunk. Four large supporting pillars rather impose themselves.

I walked in to your pub sober and the large bouncer refused to serve me because apparently I was too intoxicated as apparently I was acting drunk on my phone when my phone was behind the bar!!!!

One of my favourite favourite places to go and have a nice drink with friends. Super chilled environment and very nice staff.

Went to enter 11.40 sat night felt somebody pulling my arm! Its a private party I responded I didn't know that didn't see the tiny blackboard in smoking area! Told to pay more attention ? Sorry Southampton the hub of nightlife I think not! Party looked dire lol glad never went in.jobs worth's doorman rude probably just doing too money launder there kebad shop get a life ! Won't be back

Great bar! Nice feel to the place and a a huge selection of drinks, if you like your spirits then this is a great place to go.

We called in to this bar about 11:30 pm mid-week on our way back to the hotel. We weren't quite sure what to expect in this city centre bar at that time of night, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly, it was clean and tidy and there was a good atmosphere. Lots of people came in later than us. We had a good end to our evening but I'm not sure what it may be like on a busy Friday or Saturday night.

Staying at the Travelodge round the corner, I dropped in here for a pint. Nicely set out symmetrical bar with a big area of floor around it and then plenty of seating and windows. A very good range of drinks available. I just wanted to write a review to commend the barman, who was handling a difficult situation well. There was a large bunch of raucous young males in. Plus two quiet guys to one side. And me. I got racially abused by a couple of the raucous lot a couple of times (they thought from my hat that I was Pakistani), but it went both ways because another one came over and wanted to buy me a drink. Such was the mayhem of these blokes, who were mainly standing up, that they'd sort of taken the place over. The young barman kept his cool and was gentle in his approach to suggesting they settle down. He was on his own, so I felt for him, but expecting reinforcement at 9. When that reinforcement turned out to be a young woman, I became a bit nervous. I could see from the look on her face this could have been understandably challenging for her. But then suddenly, as if by magic, the mob all galloped out and their shouting faded away up the high street. What a relief! So, no harm done; but a lesser barman could have found himself in difficulty there on his own. (I'm not used to cities, so for all I know this might be all in a night's work. But I was impressed.)

Oasis is a great pub! It's the only one I go to whenever I am in Southampton... Great beer. Great atmosphere. The patio is really nice. And the Knob Creek Bourbon is definitely a bonus!

We booked Oasis Bar for a Private 30th Birthday Party & the whole affair was excellent. The Staff could not have been more helpful in the preparations and running of the event. The Party was able to start at 8pm & went on until 1:30pm. We decorated the place throughout and were permitted to do things just the way we wanted. We paid a deposit & through an arrangement this was returned against satifactory bar sales. The door staff were friendly & polite and were a credit to the company. We highly recommend Oasis Bar for a Private Party, you would not be disappointed, wonderful place.

Nice little bar at the bottom of town with has a nice selection of beers and friendly staff. This place is cool for after work drinks as they have a happy hour in the week between 4pm to 7pm. Highly recommended.

Been a regular customer for ten years! (Apart from making me feel old now ) I can say that this is a cracking little bar with one of the best selections of spirits in Southampton. Dog friendly and a cosy atmosphere, highly recomended
