One of the best lattes I’ve had. I love my coffee and this place is brilliant. Went there two weekends in a row with the family and was very impressed. The lady in there was doing a very good job as she was on her own for about 30 mins with quite a big queue.

Waterstones Southampton café is now my café of choice in Southampton. Every time you visit you receive a warm and friendly reception from the team who do their best to accommodate any individual need you might have. They also take pride in the standard of coffee they make - which is of a significantly higher standard than all the big chain coffee shops. Definitely the best flat white in town. Add to this the outlook on to the old walls of Southampton and books within easy reach it’s the perfect ambiance to enjoy your coffee. We missed it during lockdown!

We called in here for breakfast one morning at 9 am as it was quite close to the Holiday Inn hotel. It was a pleasant area also with some outside seating. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed coffee tea and toast for the reasonable price of £6.25.

I was looking for a nice cafe to do some writing and stumbled upon this gem. Good prices and wonderful cakes (must try the apple tart with fresh cream). The place has a nice calm atmosphere and the staff were very warm and pleasant. Highly recommended.

If you like reading and like good coffee then here is this place. Spend a fair amount of time escaping my usual distractions to come here and read, a bonus is I get a nice coffee too! Service sometimes is slow and seating can be somewhat scarce but not everywhere is perfect and you forget all that once your heads in the book!

We popped in at 20past 3 and were told that because they close at 4 we had to have a takeaway up. How wasteful for the environment. I would have expected more from somewhere like this.

This is the last time I will visit this cafe , the service is terrible they seem to be continually understaffed. I was served a pot of tea and a tough Chelsea bun for £4.85 which seems excessive. The man in front of me had been charged twice for his coffee. I like to support smaller coffee shops but based on the service this is the last time I will give this one a go.

Honestly, is there any othe cafe that won’t serve your coffee in a china cup for the last hour of its opening time? I am not a coffee snob, but it tastes infinitely better in a china cup rather than a takeaway paper cup. What is wrong with your process that you can’t wash up after 5pm or do t have enough cups for the next morning? Won’t be wasting my time again.

The cafe was clean and the seating comfortable. The food was poor. I chose a prepacked cheese toastie. It was served just on a plate without any napkins or tray. One part was burnt. At nearly £4 I expect better.

The Cafe is located on the lower level of waterstones. You can sit outside and soak up the sun with a coffee overlooking a wonderful open air area. Well worth visiting.
