I really like to try and support the local companies but came away extremely disappointed. Food presentation very poor. Slightly warm sausage sandwich with a over powering margarine taste. No real atmosphere. Lots of potential Such a shame

1st the good news. The decaf coffee was ok and the baguette breakfast generously sized. Sadly the tomato and brown sauce were really not the best and meat a bit bland. Then the regular coffee was only fit for the drain.

Poor quality sausages ,sloppy tinned chopped tomatoes! Poor quality spread with toast not butter. No one asked us how our breakfast was, otherwise we would have told them.

Recently visited Marie’s @ no2 and it was an amazing experience! The lunch was brilliant! I had a chicken baguette and it was the best baguette I have ever had! Full to the brim of chicken and the bread was really fresh! A big fuss was made of my young son and he got to chose a chocolate for Christmas which he was very excited about! The members of staff are lovely and tend to your every need would highly recommend a visit if your passing through Winslow!!

First of all, this cafe is a completely different cafe to Harvey’s and is now called Marie’s which is misleading. I visited this place a view days ago and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. Ordered breakfast, eggs were undercooked and the food in general was cold and overly greasy. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, especially the manager. What a shame, won’t be returning.

Not a large menu but the jacket potatoes, soups, sandwiches and cakes are great. The small range of hot meals also look inviting. The owners are very helpful, a nice place to have a quick bite!

A friend recommended this place and said they had had a good meal there. I just wanted tea and a cake, and it was not far off closing time, so maybe if I had gone earlier it would have been better. The proprietor was quite friendly. The cakes were all wrapped in clingfilm and did not look at all appetising. There wasn't a huge selection. In the end I settled for a tea cake, which came with three packs of slightly melted butter. The tea was in a pot with milk in a jug which was good. The décor is OK, but the bare floorboards are not to my taste. The worst part was the dreadful plunky plunk music playing. It was presumably intended for the proprietor, not the customers. I did think of asking him to turn it off, but didn't like to, suspecting that he would say 'My customers like it'. Another customer asked about toilets (the cafe does not have any) and was told to use the pub opposite. I did the same and did not get the impression that the pub is happy with this arrangement. There are decent public toilets further along the road.

Possibly the best place in Winslow for light meals and snacks or even to do the crossword or spend some time with a paper magazine or tablet. Slight disappointment since last visit is the not impolite but downbeat almost maudlin mood of the guy behind the counter.

Within a short distance there are a number of establishments offering breakfast but this is the best by far. Quality sausages and bacon and superbly cooked mushrooms make this a standout choice for brekkie.

If you are looking for some good home made food, Harveys is a good stop. You can sit inside or out and watch the people and traffic go by while having a snack ( I recommend the sandwiches here, packed with plenty of fillings) or you can have a 3 course lunch if you choose. The owner makes the soups and the lady makes the cakes.(Blueberry and Lemon is a must to try). The girls are friendly whether you are a regular or a new visitor to Winslow. The window has a display of SockMonkeys which you can buy and flyers letting you know what is happening locally. A nice place to stop off for an hour. :-)

Stopped for lunch whilst on cycle ride with a friend. Both had the home made soup one vegetable and the other Stilton and both kinds were excellent. The service was good and efficient if not really with a smile and had to wait a little while for food to arrive. But we did enjoy the food and drinks and would return certainly if it was again on our cycle route. It is a little small and tight but this is obviously because of the building layout but are tables outside on the pavement if weather permits.

I have visited this café several times and have always found it to be very welcoming with excellent food, drink and staff. The breakfasts are second to none using only the best quality products and freshly cooked to order so they are always hot when served. A good choice of hot drinks including specialty teas, flavourful hot chocolate and the best freshly ground coffee for miles. The choice of freshly baked cakes is very appealing and they regularly have gluten free cakes for those that need them such as my wife. We have had lunches there and as with the other food they have always been excellent, especially the salads and soups. The staff have always been very pleasant with a very can do attitude and for those that like something served a particular way they have a nothing is too much trouble attitude. For instance my wife is particular about how her eggs are cooked and Harveys always get them exactly right. On other occasions I've seen people ask for their coffee stronger or weaker and it has been served as requested. In summary this is simply a great local café, great food and staff, thoroughly recommended.

I've been twice now, once after the farmers market and once for a birthday breakfast for my partner. Both times were disappointing. The coffee is weak and watery (no soya milk on offer either which is disappointing in this day and age). But I baulked when I heard the lady taking orders ask the customer what an Americano was...I had a sausage baguette for breakfast and the sausages were cold. My partner had mushrooms, eggs and bacon and the mushrooms were greasy and burnt. Won't return which is a shame because Winslow could really do with a GOOD coffee place.

Family live close by and we have visited here several times. The coffee is surprisingly good and they offer a wide selection of cakes, pastries and snacks. Hubby always opts for a slice of homemade cake which he heartily recommends and the soup is great too! With friendly staff it is always on our list of places to go when we visit.

This was a lunch stop for us on our drive to Warwick. Very tasty food, we had paninis and soup, ŵell presented and helpful staff. Good price for lunch. We had a very satisfying late lunch on a Monday. Friendly helpful male and female behind the counter. Excellent mushroom and parsnip soups. Also tasty panini. Afterwards first rate raspberry brownies. Good selection of hot and cold drinks. Passable unintrusive music, Wi-Fi but no lavatories. About three or four tables for two and on an expected and slightly unusual plinth, a tablefor five or six with high chairs on the groundfloor side and quaint modern buttock squeezing plywood chairs inside on the step. Bit of condensation because no extractor fan on a chill day but we enjoyed it and the whole deal was a bit under twenty quid all in for the three of us. Would come back. Best caff in the town.

First visit. I love pies and had wanted to visit this pub for ages. I would love to have given more stars but was so disappointed that even though it was early evening my choice of pies were out of stock. Only about 6 pies available from a wonderful menu. For starter we had the vegetable soup and prawn cocktail - both very good. My husband had the fillet steak for his main course which he thoroughly enjoyed and I had my fourth pie choice option Chicken and Mushroom Pie. Unfortunately I felt the pie was overbaked as the top pastry was extremely hard and I could not cut through it or eat it. The chicken and sauce was delicious but could not see much evidence of mushroom. The vegetables and chips were cooked to perfection. Service was fantastic. The place itself looked as though it needed updating but definitely had character. The pub car park was a nightmare getting in and out. It did not help that someone had parked in the Exit so we had to leave by the Entrance! Would give it another try in the future.

This time I went to Rumsey's with just my wife although I have been several times with other members of my family since I make a point of going every time we visit my son in Tring because I love the place so much. I haven't tasted such delicious drinking chocolate anywhere. It is always so rich and velvety. I adore the stuff and, I think, could very easily get addicted to it! In addition to the actual drink they give you a very delicious little biscuit to accompany it. Every time we go, we buy some to make up at home and I can tell you it doesn't last for long - well not long enough anyway. The café itself is not very big but there are tables outside if the weather is good. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and they also sell very tempting cakes and chocolates and some savouries. Parking in Wendover is very easy and the town centre is worth a visit in its own right. I urge you to go.

Went for a family birthday lunch with my 11 month old. I phoned ahead to double check that they could accommodate a baby in their food options and facilities and was warmly told “yes of course!” When we arrived there was a high chair set up with no safety strap attached (broken as only half was missing) the food was okay, a lovely small portion of roast chicken for him which he loved. However, my issue arose when i needed to change my baby’s nappy. I went into the women’s toilets and there was no baby change facilities so I came out to ask the staff “I wondered if there are any baby chance facilities I could use?” And the man I spoke to replied quite offhandedly and rudely “no it’s a 15th century building what do you expect.” I ended up having to change my son’s nappy on the bathroom floor on a blanket, as the alternative was to walk him back to the car in the rain. I understand that old buildings have less space for baby changing etc, but as I had phoned in advance to double check, it would have been nice to have been pre-warned of this. I also didn’t appreciate being spoken to so rudely by the staff member.
