Harvester The Blacksmith Arms in Wycombe

I’ve afraid to say it’s the worst Dinner I’ve ever had a a Harvester with my family of 6 adults The soft drinks machine wasn’t working so they had zero diet drinks! The service was painfully slow. The food took 55 mins to arrive and was mainly overcooked, burnt, very dry and cold. 2 expensive mixed grills, 3 burgers and a steak all came up woefully short on quality and taste, it wasn’t even warm! 2 of my sons couldn’t eat the burgers because they were so dry, burnt and tasteless. Absolutely awful! It was my birthday! I rarely eat out anymore but we all thought it was dreadful and we wouldn’t be coming back. I always used to love the Harvester but today it hit rock bottom. We did complain about the burgers at the time being inedible and got a free choc brownie! Not really enough compensation I’m afraid. I’m so so disappointed Harvester! I don’t know if your usual chef had been shot and you dragged in some randoms to cook for us but it really was incredibly bad. Only 1 plus, the waitress was polite and apologetic, we won’t be back though!

Started ok all met up and were seated straight away, we were then asked if we wanted any drinks, we asked for a mixture or soft and alcoholic drinks only to be told there was no lemonade so we asked for Fanta which they also didn’t have then asked for coke to be told that the only soft drinks they have are 6 small bottles of Diet Coke and if we wanted them we had better order them now before they go, considering this is also a pub with no soft drinks is not good. Then we ordered food only to be told that there is no chicken available. So settled for other food but 2 of us could not have a drink with our meal as we were driving and could not drink alcohol. We also asked to have separate bills and the waitress told us “we don’t do that as it’s too awkward and time consuming so just remember who had what and we will try to sort it out at the end” Needless to say I can not recommend this restaurant to anyone after the service that was received

Booked online at 4.11 pm for 5 pm that evening. Arrived at 5. Took 20 minutes to be seated. Was told they were busy and short staffed in the kitchen so expected a slight delay. Ordered 5 main courses which took an hour and 20 minutes to arrive! Waiting staff were rushed off their feet. All the time more people were arriving. A couple with a young child gave up waiting and left. The manager should have stopped new bookings and accepting unbooked/walk in customers and should have been upfront and honest about the exceptionally long wait time. We would have gone elsewhere. The toilets were dirty, one cubicle had no paper and one soap dispenser was empty. When the food eventually arrived it was OK.

Standard family trip for 6pm. Staff here need medals, rewards and thanks. This is a regular drop for us to go as its on route home from my parents and we know we can grab a good meal here if there are delays on the M40, or we are late home. Second time we have visited and there has a been a massive group of people upstairs, who have not pre-ordered. We turned up to chaos and this is no fault on the staff. I do not blame the staff one bit. We tried to lightly amuse the staff, other customers had clearly suffered with reduced service, food delays. I'm not sure how its acceptable to let your kids leave rubbish all over a whole an establishment. The large party had cleared the drinks stock of larger, ciders and more . We made do with plates for the salad bar, food did arrive late but it was as usual. We go for the ease of the menu, choice for the kids and value for money. Our food came out later than intended, but we took it as it was. Seeing staff clearly having had enough, struggling to run the normal downstairs and a massive booking upstairs. I will ring up next time and check for a big book upstairs though in future.

Took advantage of a 50% off mains voucher which meant it was very good value. We were sat upstairs and the young staff are a credit to the team. Food was really good. The interior definitely needs a revamp feels very very tired. And some Christmas decorations still up is not a good luck at the end of January. Probably would only return either once the pub has had a refurbishment or with another discount voucher.

I have eaten here several times over the last few months. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful, and the food to be enjoyable. My complaint is that it is so cold inside. I have sat in different places in the restaurant and in the bar area, but its cold everywhere. The last time I was there I noticed a portable heater had been positioned on the floor in the bar area. I'm not sure what the problem is, but I have felt cold enough to keep my coat on. This is a shame as until something can be done about this I won't go back.

Good family restaurant with a wide range of meals for kids and adults. My son chose the place for a bday meal a d even had a candle added to his make your own ice cream sundae - nice touch by the staff, thanks Sally 😀

From the warmth of the greeting by the Duty Manager to Hillary’s service, it was a great meal. The quality of the product has improved!

Sally our server was very attentive and the food and drinks were very good. The restaurant and bar areas are clean and inviting .

The salad was a little empty with no crispy onions or pineapple and the coleslaw looked a bit bad. Apart from that the male waiter we initially had was nice and showed great customer service. Our other waitress Hilary was lovely, very smiley, nice and willing to answer our questions. Overall a good experience and the food was nice.

Arrived to be told although booked, you will have to be seated upstairs unless you want to go in the bar area. Not entirely practical with 3 young children in the party. So took the bar area which was extremely cold. Service was not the quickest. No staff to be found. Eventually ordered and food came reasonably quick. Most ok although steak and gammon on the mixed grill was cold. Went to order desserts. Again looking for staff to serve us. Not sure we would rush back.

Great service for a busy party of thirteen. Lovely food. Good atmosphere. Always love the fresh free salad. Thanks very much.
