I was travelling early during the week and decided to stop off at Fleet services on the M3 at around 7am. Not many places were open at that time. However, Harry Ramsden were offering cooked breakfasts. It was served very quickly and the items were served hot. Great to also see black pudding on the menu.

Order took around 5-10 minutes, not a problem. Though a bit pricey. Fish was delicious, fresh, tasty and enjoyable. Chips were only just warm and very quickly went cold eating in the seating area with doors opening and closing. Had a travelling deadline so unable to provide feedback to the friendly staff.

Excellent cod & chips, & service. Cooked perfectly. I must also say what a great member of staff Ribisha is. So polite and friendly. Ten out of ten easily. Many thanks indeed.

Fish cooked to perfection, moist with a light batter, portion size not large but perfect for a road stop, staff helpful and friendly. This was quite unexpected for a motorway service station!

A fair lunch but at quite a cost. My sister stated that her scampi were okay but good breaded scampi were hard to find. My meat pie and gravy was good but with just one bottle of small water, the cost was 18 GB Pounds. We all know that the service stations do not give the greatest value for money. A three out of 5 none the less.

Having visited other motorway service stations in the past we had low expectations about eating here but it turned out to be the best fish and chips we had ever had. We shared a large fish and chips between us. This came with mushy peas and all the sauces we wanted. The fish was huge plenty for two and at £9.99 it was good value. Both employees went out of their way to help us. My husband is disabled and has mobilty problems. The guy who served us was kind, considerate and helpful. He made sure we had all we needed, sauces, cutlery, etc before we left the counter. We asked for a top up for our tea pot. The guy serving was busy so the cook came around to the counter and did this for us. We would definately recommend this place. Infact I felt so strongly about giving the two guys who served at this Harry Ramsdens outlet us a good review that I set up a trip Advisor account. We stopped on a busy Friday night about 5.30 on 29.11.19. We rarely eat at motorway services and only stopped because of traffic delays because of an accident on the M3. Harry Ramsdens was busy with only two young Asian guys working. One cooking and one serving. We would like to thank them both.

Stopped off at Fleet yesterday morning and visited Harry Ramsdens for breakfast. Service was fast and friendly, the portion was generous and the food was good. Eggs freshly friend in front of you which makes a change from having them sat under a light for hours! Meat was of a decent quality too. Certainly better than the other options at Fleet.

Ordered a fish and chip meal in large with the extra chips for 30p although I dont think I actually received that, overall the service was quick and friendly on a busy Sunday evening, the fish was a little greasy but was a large portion and overall I was happy with my meal.

After a long journey from Southend airport we decided to stop for dinner at fleet services, instead of looking around for a pub. We were concerned about how much it would cost however we couldn’t believe our eyes when we discovered Harry Ramsdens, selling fish, chips and mushy peas for just £7.99! Friendly service, delicious food, will def be using this as our dinner stop from now on! Daughter had child’s meal and got a scrumptious jumbo sausage and almost as many chips as us for £4.99, good portion sizes all round

Due to problems on the M25, I chose to follow my satnav across London to Twickenham and beyond to pick up the M3. The journey was probably worse than heading for the M25. However, I was pleased to see that Harry Ramsden was serving it's famous fish and chips and wound down with a portion. As usual, the quality was excellent and didn't have to wait long for the fish to be feshly cooked. The rest of the journey to Bournemouth was not as enjoyable as it should have taken about 2,5 hours in all but was stretched by roadworks, (mainly 4 miles from destination) to 5 hours. Harry Ramsden was a pleasing interruption!

At the new Fleet Services Welcome Break I discovered a Harry Ramsden restaurant. I don’t eat KFC or McDougalls, however, I did try a plate of piping hot fresh fish and chips with mushy peas at Harry Ramsden. Top notch and pitched just right on the price. Well worth a try.

I have visited on a Friday evening with a friend. The food was great, service fast an efficient. Only downside to our dinner was the fact we have been sat in a small room with lights everywhere (spot lights, chandelier and wall lights) which was an atmosphere killer. We have enquired about dimming or turning some off, which was not possible (all on one circuit), we were not offered to be relocated into an area of the pub with less lights and more atmosphere.

Unfortunately Daisy’s Tea Room is closing for good on 25th May 2022 although Serendipity will continue to trade. Make the most of this quaint tea room while you can.

We had a lovely lunch here. Food was delicious and service was 10/10. The staff are absolutely brilliant and really go out of their way to provide a great experience. My daughter who is usually quite fussy got through all of her lunch, they had some great kids food options! Would highly recommend

Freshly made food quiet and a very nice atmosphire. Lots of gifts and trinkets and the staff were very interesting to talk to. Apparently there are tables and chairs outside and you can watch the lambs.

I’ve been coming to Tylney since 2010 for special occasions such as birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries etc. sadly it’s gradually gone down hill and this will possibly be my last visit. I dined at the oak room this week and when the menu was put in front of me i had no idea what to order. The menu was outdated, stuffy and very overpriced. Long gone are the days where you sat in the library, had your amuse-bouch and marvelled at what to order. Your order was taken prior to your arrival at the oak room and your wine was waiting at your table for your arrival. I ended up ordering by eliminating either incredibly boring options like soup and ludicrously expensive ones like £47 Dover sole. I had the whipped goats cheese starter and the pork main. The food tasted nice but it really was nothing special. The menu was just lacking in creativity and provenance. Back in the day you’d walk in the oak room and there was live piano, candles on the table and the silver cloche covered your food and was beautifully removed when the dish was in front of you. All these details made the extra cost worth it. When you pair it all back sadly it’s just not worth it anymore. I know places like Tylney are incredibly expensive to run so some adjustments have to be made but these are the things that made it special and kept us coming back over the years. Places like The Pig have left Tylney behind. Perhaps it’s time to rethink the French menu for something with provenance, after all Hampshire is a rich county. Back in the heyday of Tylney Hall 20-30 years ago, I appreciate that English food and wine wasn’t as well known or at the level it is at today but it would perhaps be more imaginative, creative and attract more guests if the menu was adapted to be the ‘best of British’ - including all of the wonderful food that Hampshire and neighbouring counties can offer (including the wine!). Back in the 1990s this sort of traditional French menu felt exciting but by today’s culinary standards it is bland and mediocre. On this visit we also found out that the old snooker table is gone. It broke and it was taken away, never fixed. This is incredibly sad as it was a family tradition to have a game of snooker after dinner in a room which was full of history.
