The selection of teas was good as you can't always get an Earl Grey. It was quaint and friendly, like tearooms of old. The scone was fresh and the jam was locally made

I popped in here earlier for a browse around this quaint, little shop and then found myself in the tea room. I thought it would be rude not to get something.. The lady who served me was very friendly and told me all about the cakes on display. I opted for a plain scone to take home with me. At home I popped the scone in the microwave to warm slightly and had it with some butter and jam. It was ample in size, beautifully made and well risen. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Next time I’m in the area, I’ll definitely have to sit in for one of their yummy cakes.

We ordered a take away cream tea for 10 people for a birthday celebration. Communication was fantastic leading up to the event and made ordering very simple….we didn’t make it easy either as we wanted half of 3 different cakes! This request was sorted easily. On the day of the event, the order was ready for us when we arrived, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Parking at the back made collection quick and easy too! The food was delicious and not a mouthful was left….well we couldn’t manage all the cake but we soon finished it off the next day! The sandwiches had generous portions of fillings and were all fresh. The scones were yummy and there was plenty of jam and cream! The cakes were wonderful and the slices were huge! We will definitely be visiting in person or using the take away service again soon! Thank you very much to all the staff who organised and made all the food. It was lovely to have all our family together to celebrate and the food was a big hit!

I noticed this quaint little cafe from driving through Fleet, today I popped in for an early lunch. The setting is amazing, totally unlike anything else locally, it feels like your stepped into a cafe in a small village out in the countryside. The crockery is very quirky and old fashioned. I had a mushroom and tomato omelette with a cup of tea, followed by a slice of chocolate orange (to takeaway)

I arrived this morning (Mother’s Day), unsure if open due to the current pandemic. Although the shop was shut, they allowed me in and I was able to order a take away option. Despite the owner feeling extremely stressed about the prospect that her business will suffer at this difficult time, the service I received was exceptional, the scones and cake were absolutely delicious and I can’t wait for them to be up and running again. Thank you so much for your kindness.

Very friendly and lovely staff, quaint little tea room in a fab little antique type shop. Absolutely no facilities for children, baby change is non existent, I had to change my boy on the floor of the shop - literally!! No vegan options for pudding either which is a real shame considering how easy they are to buy to most other independent shops in town. Nice food but nothing to write home about. The place is also tiny, tables are packed in so don’t expect much elbow room!!

Returned to Daisy's Tea Room for afternoon tea with friends for a special celebration. We chose the luxury one which consisted of a variety of teas, sandwich of choice, warm (yummers) scone with clotted cream and jam followed by a choice of slab of cake. Everything is fresh made. I had the prawn sandwich - the marie rose sauce is too runny but did not deter from the taste. Customer Service is great and all staff are very friendly and genuine but also proffesional. If Daisy's remains as it is I will be a frequent visitor. :-)

The tea room is found right at the back of the shop and one has to navigate down a long corridor and through a room to get to it.I loved browsing past all the wonderful trinkets, jewellery and things for sale in the main shop. It’s a very quaint, cute and quirky place. I did not sit in the tea room but decided to get a scone to take away and have later- based on the reviews on tripadvisor. I couldn’t decide on a plain or fruit one so a nice member of staff showed me both so I could make my decision. I chose plain. I was advised to warm it slightly before eating which I did but I didn’t really enjoy it. It was dry and not at all sweet. A real disappointment. I have eaten many scones in my lifetime and sadly these just did not live up to my expectations. I rate average for the scone and not for the staff or the shop.

Lovely tea room right at the back of serendipity, with a few tables along the corridor and the rest in the tea room itself. The menu is bijou, the staff are very helpful and attentive and it is clean and tidy. There were a few vegetarian options but they all had cheese, so a few vegan friendly options would be great next time you review your menu. My only other point is, accessibility - luckily on the day I visited I took my child in their buggy and had a friend with me. However, my child also uses a wheelchair and there is no way I would have been able to get them through the shop to the tea room if they had been using it as there is stuff everywhere. My friend had to help me lift the buggy over some items in a doorway, the wheelchair wouldn’t have got past and is too heavy to lift.

We arrived at lunch time with a toddler, which would've been fine but there was only one high chair (which was more like a booster) and was being used by a small but very capable young child, who had just finished their lunch. This meant we had to wait for 20+ minutes whilst the family decided to order everything they could find on the menu. Our toddler was very very hungry by this point and very fractious. We had to wait a long time for a table to be free and longer again to be cleared. There seem to be a few 'regulars' who seem to take joy in telling newcomers they should've booked in advance - helpful. The tearoom is very cramped, and throughput was not helped by couples being seated at 4 seater tables despite having booked in advance. I did think it was funny when some of their regulars were evicted as they seemed to just be sat at he table talking for ages when they'd finished their lunch a long time ago. Service seemed to be slow when the tea room was full (about 8-9 tables).

The sandwiches were brilliant, there was a choice of 4 different types of scone which was served hot and a large slice of freshly made cake. Extremely great value for money and served on decorative China. Each person had their own large pot of tea or cafetière coffee, enough for at least 4 cups each!!! In truth it can simply be too much for one person to eat so I recommend sharing this choice, however staff were great and boxed up our cake to take away. After recommendation from a friend we visited for lunch yesterday. Ended up having afternoon tea at lunchtime which was lovely, a very generous round of sandwiches, a huge and yummy slice of cake and a warm scone with jam and cream, and a lovely large pot of tea. All beautifully presented and very good value for money. It's well worth seeking Daisy's out as you'd never know it was hidden behind the facade of Serendipity, an antique shop in its own right with lots of hidden treasures.

Really nice tea room with good selection. The cakes are very yummy and generous slices. Has a very homely and welcome feel, Gets quite busy and not a large area but well worth a visit. Go all the way through the very nice antique shop. Wheelchairs or pushchairs may find it rather difficult to gain access to tea room and toilet but may be alternative entry.

We've been to Daisy's before and always enjoyed it so we decided to go for the Luxury Cream Tea - delicious but so stuffed we could barely stagger out afterwards! I loved the presentation with the beautiful teapots and tea service. The food was excellent but I would have liked a selection of sandwiches rather than just one. As everyone else mentions, the carrot cake is the best ever but such a wedge of it! Personally for an afternoon tea like this, I prefer a selection of three or four small cakes but none of this would put me off going again - a lovely afternoon and great value for money.

Finding a tearoom is virtually impossible in some small towns...all coffee shops and deli's, however what a find! Tearoom right at the back of a fabulous eclectic antique shop. Lovely, friendly ladies. Great food. Table cloths and even magazines!! A perfect place to rest and recoup!

Went with a friend earlier today. Didn't see there was a tea room there to start with before we walked through the lovely little antique shop. A small outside/undercover space which we sat in with the sun shining bright. Had a fantastic scone with cream and jam, the ladies in the shop were fantastic happy to talk and stop for a second. Would certainly go again and recommend to others.

What a revelation, the best blueberry scone ever, warm too, just as they should be. The blueberry jam to go with it was yummy, we ate the whole pot. It's a long time since I had coffee served in a cafetiere so it made a for a very pleasant change from my usual 'flat white'.

After a long visit at a historical site, we spotted the sign on the Fleet High street on our way home. We thought it would keep us going until Sunday roast dinner in the evening. Tea room is in the back of an old curiosity shop made up of a maze of rooms, called Serendipity. Great value presents and trinkets. We decided to share the Supreme cream tea for one [slice of cake, scone, sandwich +pot of tea, from fantastic selection on offer for each element] plus an extra slice of cake and elder flower cordial. All for £13.59.A slab not slice of carrot cake [even better than Aunty Phil’s legendary carrot cake], country ham & mustard sandwich fingers on granary bread, a warm apricot & walnut scone with matching apricot jam & cream and a large pot of tea.[Beautiful china set]. We also had a slice/slab of the delicious coconut cake.[see pics]Best cream tea ever. No Sunday dinner required.I even popped in on our way home to takeaway the next day!

Have been in here for tea and cake a few times. Very friendly staff, patient and helpful. When my friend and I were both torn between the delicious carrot cake and coffee and walnut (all made on the premises) they cut a slice of each and halved them between us! You can choose to sit inside the cafe (rather dim as no windows) or at one of two little tables in the passageway, where the whole ceiling is skylight. I've done both and prefer the passageway, although it's a bit cramped.Last week when I was there, a robin flew down to join us, very tame and apparently raising young at the far end of the passageway - amusing addition to the ambiance! The tea comes with another teapot of hot water, just as it should! When you've eaten and drunk your fill, you can wend your way back out browsing the bric-a-brac and gift items in the labyrinth of little 'kiosks'.

A first visit to the Hogget meeting a friend for lunch. It was a good decision as there was plenty of parking, a warm greeting when we arrived and good service throughout. There was a very good lunch menu and the Black and Bleu burger was very enjoyable.

We had a lovely lunch here. Food was delicious and service was 10/10. The staff are absolutely brilliant and really go out of their way to provide a great experience. My daughter who is usually quite fussy got through all of her lunch, they had some great kids food options! Would highly recommend

Freshly made food quiet and a very nice atmosphire. Lots of gifts and trinkets and the staff were very interesting to talk to. Apparently there are tables and chairs outside and you can watch the lambs.

I’ve been coming to Tylney since 2010 for special occasions such as birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries etc. sadly it’s gradually gone down hill and this will possibly be my last visit. I dined at the oak room this week and when the menu was put in front of me i had no idea what to order. The menu was outdated, stuffy and very overpriced. Long gone are the days where you sat in the library, had your amuse-bouch and marvelled at what to order. Your order was taken prior to your arrival at the oak room and your wine was waiting at your table for your arrival. I ended up ordering by eliminating either incredibly boring options like soup and ludicrously expensive ones like £47 Dover sole. I had the whipped goats cheese starter and the pork main. The food tasted nice but it really was nothing special. The menu was just lacking in creativity and provenance. Back in the day you’d walk in the oak room and there was live piano, candles on the table and the silver cloche covered your food and was beautifully removed when the dish was in front of you. All these details made the extra cost worth it. When you pair it all back sadly it’s just not worth it anymore. I know places like Tylney are incredibly expensive to run so some adjustments have to be made but these are the things that made it special and kept us coming back over the years. Places like The Pig have left Tylney behind. Perhaps it’s time to rethink the French menu for something with provenance, after all Hampshire is a rich county. Back in the heyday of Tylney Hall 20-30 years ago, I appreciate that English food and wine wasn’t as well known or at the level it is at today but it would perhaps be more imaginative, creative and attract more guests if the menu was adapted to be the ‘best of British’ - including all of the wonderful food that Hampshire and neighbouring counties can offer (including the wine!). Back in the 1990s this sort of traditional French menu felt exciting but by today’s culinary standards it is bland and mediocre. On this visit we also found out that the old snooker table is gone. It broke and it was taken away, never fixed. This is incredibly sad as it was a family tradition to have a game of snooker after dinner in a room which was full of history.

Beautiful hotel, lovely gardens and very interesting history. However, like other reviewers, I have a few niggly things, but most importantly and unfortunately, the service levels let the side down. We were the only people in the restaurant at dinner, and one of our party of four did not receive his appetiser and upon notification, it still didn’t show up at all. They then forgot his main course and by the time they served it everyone else had finished their two course meal. We spent a lot on dinner and a good bottle of French champagne and a fine bottle of red coming to over £400. We mentioned this to the night manager, when he came into the restaurant, which was now in almost complete darkness as they had forgotten to turn on the lights . We also mentioned it to the manager at breakfast who said they would inform reception, but when we checked out at reception, they had not heard about the problem and did not offer any apology or compensation. In fact when she asked what was the problem we pointed out again that one in our party had not received his meal until after everyone else had finished and her comment was “…well when you got the food it was good, wasn’t it?” A few other points, if such a nice hotel is trying to be a four-star hotel, I would certainly recommend the availability of cappuccino and espresso at breakfast instead of just carafe coffee. Also orange juice was from a packet or a can and certainly not fresh or “not from concentrate” or any of the other quality options available. I would suggest waiting until the Hotel is under new management to try this beautiful property. With today’s competitive world and customers a click away from passing you over, I really don’t expect a management team with this service level to stay viable. Update – and as expected, a month later and not a single response from the Hotel even to my phone calls and emails have emailed the management company and the ownership company. They just don’t care.
