Harrisons Spice in Leicester

Had a few lovely meals here after such a lovely time on our first visit. Staff super friendly and the food is such good value for money.portions on main meals are really good too. No license to serve alchol which meant we could take our own drinks ( kept price down, so win win!!) Tonight was craving their food so ordered in. Came before estimated time and was again fantastic! I’d highly recommend a visit( for the food alone!) When we’ve visited there seems a healthy balance of families, couples and friends celebrating together. Great vibes!!

We have been here a few times and have enjoyed every evening there. The menu has something for everyone. The food is excellent and there is plenty of it. The staff are very friendly and helpful which makes it a nice atmosphere. I would say that it is one of the best Indian restaurants in Leicester. we recently went with a friend in a wheelchair and the staff helped us into the restaurant and to the table.

Me and my partner love Indian food and have pretty much tried every Indian restaurant in Leicestershire and I can truly say this restaurant is the best we have ever been too. The food is outstanding and the staff are so welcoming and lovely.

Very impressed with the delicious flavours and portion sizes at Harrisons Spice. The menu has a wide selection of options - I particularly recommend the prawn puree starter. My only complaint is that the restaurant itself is quite small and unbearably loud when seated next to large groups for several hours. However, the food was outstanding and we appreciated the friendly service.

Best curry I’ve ever had full of flavour and such a great range of options ! We ordered it online and it was ready in 30 minutes ! Excellent service will be back again !

Absolutely terrible, ordered 2 mix grill for take out, only received 1 and 2 chicken breast. Ordered mix pickles only received sweet mango dip, chopped onions, mint yoghurt and pops doms. Pila rice had no flavour. And if that wasn't enough, what did arrive was COLD. First time and last time.

Absolutely amazing food, we eat Indian food a lot and this up with the top eateries everytime....Very welcoming staff with a excellent knowledge on their dishes, nothing to much trouble at all , if you want something slightly different, they will always oblige. We are also in the hospitality industry, so when someone goes the extra mile, it needs mentioning.....

PR needs to be addressed please. Telephone order was dealt with in an abrupt,impolite and quite frankly rude manner! Puppadums, albeit x 2 all broken, rest of my order to the good standard expected/consistent from Harrison. Spoilt my overall experience, normally very efficient, polite and friendly...sorry!

Very Very disappointed, a cold tasteless Indian, Popadoms arrived all scrunched up, green egg in the fried rice, dried up chips, chicken vindaloo was cold, and the king Prawn dish had more chopped onion in than Prawns. Awful, and not worth the 2 hour wait. Will never order from here ever again.

We've had a number of good take away's and a few great, rare to have a bad one. Tonight we ordered late and forgot about Diwali! We were warned about a potential 90min wait and were amazed when they arrived within 40mins, could have even been within 30mins but didn't check closely enough! Would reccomend to most! You can easily get slightly cheaper in the area but never as good when it comes to quality!!

We normally have the odd takeaway from Harrisons and mostly delivered , good value and good food. 10% off if you pick it up.Eaten in the restaurant a few times and very good service with the added advantage you can take your own drinks. Not saying this is one of the best Indian restaurants but surprisingly good . Well worth a try .

Have had quite a few takeaways from here, and each time they have been delicious! Reasonably priced, and never waited more than 5 minutes from stated time of collection!

I’ve got to say this restaurant is one of the worst Indian/Bangladeshi restaurants I’ve been too, The food was tasteless and full of food colouring. IMO this place needs to get shut down. I’ve just vomited in the toilet after eating here.As someone who eats out at Indian restaurants regularly, 4+ times a week. I can categorically tell you that this is LOW class food.

First time ordering on line. Placed order at 6.27 and at 8.12 food hasn’t been delivered. You click ‘now’ for the time for it to be delivered so you presume it will be within the hour at least. No. When you have then had your order confirmed, you are then told it will be 80 minutes. Phoned after 80 minutes. Food will be within 5 minutes. Arrived at 8.17Not impressed at all with this. Hope food is good after this wait !!

Portions are of a good size and the chicken in the curry is larger (which I like) and are not farty little bits. The price for what you get is also quite decent in all fairness. I like the fact that you can take your own alcohol also. I would say it’s probably the best Indian locally to us. What I would say, is that all chefs make their curries differently, this place in my opinion serves their curry slightly hotter than I’ve had in most places. So bear this in mind when ordering madras etc. We will definitely be back, and I will now use them for takeaway. Thank you.

went here on a saturday night, very average meal. i ordered a methi chicken which i doubt had any methi in at all !! when i come to pay the bill it was £10 more than in the online menu they said that was the " eat in price " it does not state that on the menu.

Our first visit on Saturday, with some friends. It was good that we could bring our own alcoholic drinks with us. I ordered a seafood Balti with rice, and my wife ordered a king prawn dish from the Chef's Specialities menu. Both were excellent and the king prawns were HUGE, more like small lobsters! Probably the largest, meatiest king prawns we have had in this country. We'll definitely be back!

15 of the family went to celebrate my Farther’s laws birthday. The front of staff were very welcoming and seated us all quickly. The front of house was very well organised and quickly took are orders.Even with the volume and verified dishes we ordered they all turned up together and were clearly made with fresh ingredients.

Love this place! We've been a few times with some friends. Food and service are excellent. The staff were very friendly helpful at all times. Took our own beer and wine and the waiter served our drinks into proper glasses for us - nice touch. As you don't need to pay for drinks, the bill is always less than I expect. It's becoming our regular Indian haunt!

Thank you to all the staff Saturday evening (15.9.18). We were celebrating my daughters 19th birthday and ‘welcome home’ after her travels around the USA. This is the second time we have celebrated at Harrison’s with a large party, and they provided patience & great service, with delicious food once again!

I often dine in and have takeaways from Harrison Spice. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the food is always very good. If dining in, you can bring your own alcohol which saves on the bill and as restaurant is in staggering distance from home also helps !!!. Will definitely be visiting again shortly with friends.

My partner and I came here for a meal, as we will soon be moving to the area so we thought we would check out the local Indian restaurant. Upon arrival, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were seated immediately. It wasn’t too busy when we arrived, which was nice. It’s a nice, intimate restaurant and very well laid out.

Excellent again, we have takeaways and have eaten in at Harrison's for some time now. I find the quality, service and menu are always consistently good. If you want the sauces a little hotter, then you just need to ask and I'm sure that they will oblige.

We ordered a large family meal from here tonight for the first time and I can catagorically say that we will never, ever eat here again!! The whole takeaway was £60 and everything was thrown in the bin. Every carton of food was totally covered in greasy fatty oil and the food all tasted of nothing! My hubby ordered lamb madras and every bit of lamb was just a mass of fat! The butter chicken was actually a tikka masala and the onion Bhajis were fatty and tasteless. It was a complete waste of £60 and shockingly disappointing. After eating only 2 mouthfalls of the food, I have now been sick!

Told to go here from not 1 but 2 separate people, im so so surprised at the poor quality food ,Ordered a £60 meal for my family, everything was totally overloaded with ghee , the lamb madras was terrible fatty lamb , had to throw away ! , sauce was extremely mild , no madras heat at all , tandoori king prawn starter was chewy and blimey only 2 tiny prawns with the tray filled with onions . £4.95 , rip off !! , onion bhaji was hard and greasy and tasteless , everyone generally said that food was dull and tasteless, ,, i don’t write many reviews but i felt i had to do this one on this occasion!! Sorry harrisons but you need to up your game , food for the masses not the classes !!

Fantastic visit with the family. Food was superb and service excellent. The Harrison special with chicken was excellent . I don’t like lamb but the lamb chops looked amazingly and they all said they were. All washed down with our own wine and beer . Great night out .

Took the family last nightand had a very good meal. A Vegan, a vegetarian and a carnivore went to a restaurant.............not a joke but our party LOL . There was no problem in satisfying all dietary requirements.

Went last night, booked 9.30 had to wait a while for table but well worth it as both the food and service was fantastic.

The food was really nice, I had garlic chilli chicken and it was lovely and spicy. However the cheese naan barely had any cheese which was a little disappointing. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Both times we've ordered the food has been nice. Only criticism is when we went to eat in even after booking the table it took ages to get severed and seemed a long wait for the food. Trying to pay the bill was just as long ended up getting up to pay ourselves! Apart from that the food was up to scratch.

food quality and service was very good and the prices are reasonable- in line with other restaurants of its type. you are able to take your own alcohol which is a good touch as it helps keep the bill down and let's you take drinks of choice. glasses are provided. I would recommend this restaurant

We booked again at this local Indian Restaurant having been before and given it excellent ratings, I was surprised how easy it was to get a table. It is still excellent for food and service and atmosphere. It is still my favourite Indian in the area bearing in mind that we probably have more in the area in Leicester than most places in the UK.

Friendly staff, amazing food, couldn't ask for a better curry house for dine in and takeaway. Always go that extra mile to make you feel welcome.

No comer un montón de comida india, pero sin duda este no será nuestra última visita aquí, cuando queremos esta cocina, éste es el lugar donde vamos. . .

Para llevar ordenados desde aquí el sábado. La comida era increíble, no puedo quejarme de nada todo fue super sabroso. El servicio fue fabuloso, se olvidaron uno de nuestros panes Nan, llamé para informar y literalmente por el id de tiempo poner el teléfono por que ya habían enviado otro chico con el naan. Gran servicio sin duda ordenar desde allí, todos los amigos y familiares que les han dicho uso sólo grandes cosas!

Fue genial, un servicio maravilloso, una gran selección, ya que teníamos un juego para 10 de nosotros. Preciosa y limpia, además de un buen ambiente. Ventaja que puedes llevar tu propia bebida. Bien merece una visita.

The staff were great and offered good service. There was a large menu selection. The food was really tasty. We took our own alcohol in. There was a fun atmosphere, not only at our table but throughout the restaurant.

Una comida muy normal para mí. La decoración era sencilla y la cubertería podría haber estado más limpio. El aparcamiento era muy limitado. Alcohol aquí, pero le permitiría llevar bebidas, que era muy útil como una coca-cola me costó 3 libras. Tuvimos que esperar un tiempo anormalmente largo entre entrante y plato principal. La comida no estaba mal, y la ley era muy razonable.

Me visita Harrison Spice cada mes para ponerse al día con un amigo. No es autorizada, así que puedes comprar alcohol de la Coop al otro lado de la calle si lo desea. El personal es muy amable y el dueño y chef es un gran anfitrión. La comida siempre es muy buena y en ocasiones es el propietario le ven y discutir una nueva receta es introducir y preguntar si nos gustaría probar. Buena comida, buen precio y conveniente para mí.

Este es mi lugar de India, a pocos minutos de la carretera que es demasiado práctico. El personal es muy acogedor y la comida es estupenda. El restaurante es bueno para grupos grandes así como parejas. No probarlo, no creo que te decepcionará. Ah, y lleva tu propia bebida.

Mesa de 5 fuimos anoche, y fue una gran comida! La comida no estaba grasienta, y tan sabrosa. Un par en nuestra mesa eran exigentes (como de costumbre! Pero para ser sincero, el camarero fue más que complaciente, y no podía hacer más! Encurtidos y popadoms eran algunos de los mejores que he probado y el camarero era más que felices de recomendar cosas que no estaban en el menú y eran especiales! Ambiente realmente encantador y muy limpio. Un poco de espera para el plato principal, pero para ser honesto me gusta eso, ya que significa que está fresco y que ciertamente fue! El limón y anacardos arroz era absolutamente encantador. No puedo esperar a volver, gran aprobado!

Hemos comido y llevado lejos de aquí. La comida es perfectamente agradable y sirve siempre caliente. La decoración es muy bonita y el personal están siempre a ayudar. Nos tomó dos niños pequeños con nosotros y el personal no podría haber sido más amable o servicial. La comida parece haber evolucionado con el tiempo y es una delicia. Recomiendo encarecidamente el Naga Pollo si te gusta la comida picante (que es mi idea de cielo) y todo el mundo parecía disfrutar de ellos también. También recomiendo la tarifa para llevar este servicio como han probado también. Aunque no sirven bebidas alcohólicas puede llevar su propia y la cooperativa por la carretera tiene una razonable selección de sabrosas e intercambiando historias personales.

Pedimos una comida de cuatro personas como para llevar y para ser sincero, la comida era muy mala. Tenía absolutamente ningún sabor y todo lo que recogió fue la cantidades extremadamente grandes de chili que utilizaban, el arroz estaba duro y el pollo y el cordero era difícil arranque. Definitivamente no lo recomiendo.

Had a take away last night and must say was the best Indian takeaway I've had food was piping hot very tasty and fresh, we always use Harrison spice as our weekly treat and it's worth every penny the delivery lady is lovely and polite and always say enjoy your meal as she leaves can't fault them delivery service excellent food fantastic 10/10

No ha sido aquí por un largo tiempo, pero tenía un cupón a través de la puerta en Navidad, así que decidimos darle una oportunidad. Agradable restaurante en el interior, el personal es muy atento. Hemos comido aquí dos veces y tenía una buena comida. Probamos el sábado para una comida para llevar y fue una fantástica comida, misma calidad que puedes conseguir en el restaurante. Todos demasiado a menudo un pedido puede ser 80% salsa recargarla con unos trozos de carne de otros para llevar, pero esto fue realmente un sustancioso plato, tanto así que no pude comer todo! Mantener el buen nivel y tendrá un cliente de por vida!

We have had many takeaways from here but have not yet dined in. The food is always fantastic and they change things to your liking if you ask them too 😊 Reasonably priced and excellent quality food!

I love the food here, the chicken korma and cheesy naan is my personal favourite. Great for takeaway or eating in however it takes a while to deliver as they are obviously short on delivery drivers. Great local Indian and not TOO expensive.

Have visited this restaurant a few times now and have really enjoyed the food served up on every visit. The place used to be a tea shop so when it became an Indian restaurant I guess they couldn't get an alcohol license. Not a problem since you can take your own drink, whatever you want, beer, wine, soft drinks etc. There's even a handy co-op over the road to buy it from. No charge for uncorking too.

La comida normal, un montón de espera, 3 de nosotros comimos y volvimos a sólo £70 por entrante y plato principal.

Fuimos como parte de un gran grupo de 30-40 personas. Llegamos allí y el menú era un menú muy limitado establecido que estaba undestandable. Pagamos 15 libras por cabeza y me decepcionó mucho. El servicio era lento. Tardaron más de 90 minutos para hacer dos campos, donde las porciones diminutas. Por 15 libras la conseguí popadum tamaño, 2 respirar samosas, un tan dulce era enfermizo pollo Korma el tenía 5 piezas de pollo y parecía algo que no te va a alimentar un bebé con sólidos, media y media de pan y nahn bandeja pequeña de arroz. Después de haber oído cosas buenas acerca de este restaurante que estaba extremadamente decepcionado y sentir que aprovechamos de tener a un grupo tan grande y fue nada más que estafar. Nunca volvería y te aconsejo que vayas a otro sitio, como sands en Glenfield que proveer comida y servicio.

Habiendo comido aquí varias veces, y había unos con comida para llevar, el mismo viejo problema parece seguir... pobre servicio. Sucedió de nuevo hace un par de sábados... pedimos una comida para llevar en 6 para las 8 de la tarde. Nada, a pesar de 2 llegó por 8.40, así que cancelaron garantías de nuestra orden... sólo por que después de las 9! La pobre chica entrega tenía un coche lleno de pedidos - presumiblemente por otros clientes hambrientos, y ofrecen gratuitamente. Un bonito gesto, pero al lado del punto.

Visited on many occasions by ourselves and with friends. Always had an enjoyable time as the restaurant is very clean with a good varied menu and made that much cheaper by taking your own drinks.

We try and eat here once a month, or more. Last visit was a family event, visit before was similar. Both occasions the choice, service and quality of food was brilliant.

Visited again for a friends 50th, party of 16......as hungry just had selection of Poppadoms and pickles, real mix of mains from Dopiaza, Rojan Joshs, Mixed Tandooris, Baltis and other really hot specials, Various naans, various rices, Bombay aloo side dishes and yet again doesn't fail to deliver wonderful quality of meals. The only comment is if large party expect to wait quite a while for your mains. Great atmosphere, friendly staff

Full marks for everything. Service 100%, food is so flavourful and each dish had a distinct taste. If you do want something hot then you need to tell them as most hot dishes are mild. Worth a visit and take your own alcohol!

El restaurante es muy agradable, muy concurrida en una noche de sábado. La comida era buena y sabrosa, pero el servicio podría haber sido mejor. Creo que fuimos en una época, pero el servicio debería haber sido mejor, lo siento. No tienen licencia, pero puedes llevar tu propio alcohol y hay un co op en la calle en caso de que se olvide!

Con familiares que viven en el pueblo, siempre nos visita este restaurante no importa lo breve de nuestra visita cuando nos venga en Sussex la acogida es siempre cálido y la comida deliciosa y muy bien presentada. Estoy seguro de que, si quería, podía producir un curry a golpear la piel, pero en general el uso de variadas y sutiles de la especia es intrincado y complejo. Una experiencia de lo más agradable y el precio razonable

Absolutely awful. I have visited this place a few times mainly because it's convenient and the food has been just ok , but this evening it was shocking bland semi warm and the paratha was the worst I have ever tried inedible.

Visited as a party of 28 for friends 50th, staff very accommodating as also party including children. Only criticism was took starters, mains & side orders all separately so when bringing to table people sat with mains no sides and vica versa, should in future just take each persons total order and bring out all together. everyones food was excellent quality considering size of party and they were still catering for full restaurant and not a space in the house... Well done all staff at Harrisons Spice. Also as take your own booze such great value when get the bill.

Lo primero que destaca de este restaurante es lo lleno que era (aunque llegamos sin reservación un sábado por la noche). preparasen un restaurante en un pequeño pueblo en el que la mayoría de los clientes eran gente realmente habla volúmenes, malas noticias viajes rápido en estas aldeas ja ja.

We've been going here since the week it opened, the food is first class, its Tasty as a pose to Hot, you can really taste what your eating. were are from Leicester curry capital of the UK and we've been to many restaurants, sometimes on our own sometimes with Indian friends. this is the place to go for good Food cooked by chefs that are really passionate about what they do. we've taken loads of friends and colleagues and they all loved it. ask the staff "what's a good choice tonight" I always do it and find we are now getting food that's not on the menu and its beautiful. they don't have an alcohol license, but this is good because the co-op is opposite which means you have a cheap night out eating amazing food. but Beware the word is getting round and they are getting busy so book ahead.
