It was only a month ago I visited and gave it a poor review but this time the welcome was very friendly and polite. The lady helped me choose which flavour of tea that she felt would suit me best and she was spot on. The cake was moist and altogether a most enjoyable visit.

The welcome was very business-like, almost cold from what we have come to expect from the likes of Costa, etc, but regrettably, the taste of H and H coffee, like the welcome was very second rate. I left half my cup, as I wasn't keen on the flavour.

Coffee is ok nothing to get excited about, hit and miss with selection of food but the staff really badly organized, 20mins to get a small coffee and tea to then sit at a dirty table. Not the first time this has happened.

Me and my girlfriend fancied a quick cup of Coffee. I found the drinks I ordered were both very bitter to drink....nit a nice after taste either. Possibly the grind on the machine needed tweaking, but enough to put me off going again. Shame

I believe Tesco staff can recieve a 10% discount from here which is good. I've visited to separate shops and have both been fine. The only food I have tried in here are the sausage rolls and chocolate brownies. You can have food heated up but I'm sure one of the staff told me it would be in the microwave when I asked if I wanted to have my sausage roll heated. It tastes damn good cold and I'm not a lover of sausage rolls but I'll happily have one here. The staff make cute little shapes on the top of your froth which is cute if your into that, I just find it fascinating watching then do it with ease.

The place is nice, but slightly overpriced, considering Starbucks is next door and for a similar price you can get a much larger, nicer coffee. There is lots of seating which is good. I probably be sticking to Starbucks or Giraffe in the future.

Located inside Tesco so very handy to pop in for a drink and a quick bite to eat before shopping. In my opinion they serve the best flat white ever and don't use piping hot water so you never burn yourself! (you can request extra hot if that's your thing). They make an excellent toasted cheese sandwich and their tea cakes are scrumptious. Perfect for coffee, cake and a chat - if you're lucky you might even snap up one of the comfy chairs.

The owners of this company need to visit their cafes more often as the staff are seriously letting them down. We sat down to enjoy our tea and share a sandwich and sausage roll. The egg mao and tomato, one side of the bread buttered, no tomato, rocket limp and unwashed. Dirty tables - cleared but not wiped. Asked for some pepper, "it's been stolen" came the reply, ditto maonaise " we don't serve it". Such a shame that a cafe like this is a second-rate trading post with no regard for customer service. Felt sorry for those staff who did try - no clear and experienced leadership in there meant young staff appeared to be "winging it". Tea was ok. But don't waste your money.

Words fail me. How is it even possible to make a cheese toasty quite that soggy beggars belief. Overpriced goods are everywhere you look. A classic case of style over substance. The tables are always filthy because the staff don't seem to be able to keep on top of things. It takes an age to get served your coffee. Who'd have thought I'd have pined for the days of the Tesco cafe. At least you knew what you were getting there.

I had a child free hour, alas only to go shopping but hey it's a break :) I decided to grab a cup of tea that I would be able to drink whilst still hot and so thought I'd try Harris & Hoole. It isn't the cheapest tea & cake I've had but it's not something I do often so didn't mind. The tea was served in a sweet little cup & tea pot combo which gives it that little extra touch. The choice of teas, coffees and eats is plentiful but as I said previously it's more expensive than your local greasy spoon. The cake was delicious and the tea nice & hot so I thoroughly enjoyed a break in their cafe. Highly recommend for a little treat for yourself before or after a shop.. or even if you find you have 15 minutes to yourself!

Staff very friendly, polite and helpful. I like the 'hidden' area at the back - comfortable and cosy. Coffee is delicious, my only niggle is that it could be a bit hotter. Coffee prices are very similar to other coffee shops so no complaints there. First we had to clear a table before we could sit down. Enjoyed our flatbreads. Unusual choice of muffins and cakes, not necessarily nice. However, most points lost for the awful thick, strong, foul tasting bitter coffee. My latte was served in a very tiny cup, almost expresso looking and tasted more like an expresso too. My daughter who ordered a one shot latte had to ask for more milk. Adding the milk just made the bitter taste a lukewarm unpleasant experience. Won't return to this place.

Ironically, I went to this cafe on the same day as Giraffe next door (both owned by Tesco now). I've been to this Harris and Hoole a number of times and the service is actually better than Giraffe, even though this cafe is busier. However, the one thing that puts me off each and every time is the lack of covering for much of the food on display. There are things I'd like to choose but simply won't because they're exposed on the counter top where people queue to place their orders. There's a rope, but it doesn't mean anything - you can still reach out and touch the food (as I saw one child do a few weeks ago). And we all know how far a sneeze can travel. This to me, is a grave oversight in food hygiene. How much would it cost to get the perspex protective area extended, or even to buy a few covered cake display stands?

Visited with my daughter at 1030 on a Wednesday morning. Good selection of drinks and typical coffee shop food but as on previous visits, the preparation of the drinks takes an inordinate amount of time. The staff simply could not cope in a 'grab and go' establishment. Other customers with food had eaten it before their drinks were ready! Reasonably priced and good tasting coffee but would avoid at busier times unless I had a spare couple of hours.

Went in for a cup of tea it was beautifully served nice cups teapot with loose. Tea in a strainer in teapot you got two cups and a bit more out of your teapot. I ordered a coke took bottle from chilled cabinet my daughter paid for it you give your name and they shout it out when it is ready and you go and collect it from Counter. I was given a plastic cup to drink my coke out of disappointed when my friends got nice fancy cups. Only thing I can think is that they thought it was for a child. It would have been nicer if you stayed at counter and just walked slowly to collect your tray. Rather than sit down your name gets shouted and you go up collect it. They had a good selection of herbal teas did not see what there was for eating. It was very noisy with every one talking not like a nice cosy headroom they had comfortable easy chairs you could sit in to have your tea, but it was within the confines of a Tesco supermarket.

The black coffee I had was nice, it had an unusual clean, crisp flavour. However by the time I was called to collect it my hot food was cold! The tip here is not to order hot food until they've bothered to make your coffee. Once when I visited it took them 7 minutes! I'm amazed that the staff have their back to you working at the machines. They should be behind a counter. You have to stand up and wait until they call your name. Whilst I was queuing the young girl handed a little jug containing hot water to an elderly man. She was holding the handle so how she expected the poor old chap to take hold of the jug I don't know. He wasn't impressed, I told her she should've placed the jug on a tray. He asked her if she'd had any training and she was quite snotty back! In fact, if I was front of house here I'd make sure that elderly customers had their hot drinks taken to their tables. I would also place a sneeze guard over the cakes etc.
