Dropped in for lunch after a visit to Walmer castle attracted by the board advertising home made quiche and ditto pies. Whilst my chicken and mushroom pie was superb, thin pastry case full of mushroom and chicken with generous carrots, beans, peas and new potatoes wetted with a jug of very tasty gravy it was the syrup sponge that stole my heart away. Soft as thistledown it was set in a sea of syrup and was just the right size for a dish of such richness.

We were given a voucher for an Afternoon Tea at Little Harriettes. We booked ahead and said one person was vegetarian . We arrived and were shown to our lovely table by the window. A staff member confirmed one of us was vegetarian and checked our preferences re tea/ coffee etc. The drinks arrived swiftly and the food around ten minutes later. The delay was due to the sandwiches being made- they were unbelievably fresh and definitely had not been lingering in a fridge. Sandwich fillings were varied and so tasty, scones ( fruit or plain) were served with jam and cream , also delicious. I had some delicious quiche and my husband had a very filling, tasty , homemade sausage roll. The cakes were a delight! Carrot, chocolate, lemon and delicious little biscuits. We had thought we might take some home but sadly we ate the lot! We had several teas and coffees. Service was excellent, with helpful, knowledgeable and attentive staff. We also had a look at the menu whilst we were there and it included breakfast, brunch and a general menu. The food was saw being served to other diners looked very tasty, including enormous baked potatoes! I cannot recommend this Tea Room highly enough. Go!

I went today, for an afternoon tea, the tearoom appearance is delightful, the staff welcoming, and the afternoon tea one of the best I have had in a long time. The sandwiches were so fresh with ample fillings, with additional savouries,a sausage roll and a slice of quiche, yummy. The scone and cakes were also delicious, the size of the cakes just right, even though, I couldn’t manage to finish it all! But not a problem as a little box was provided for us to take the rest home. The tea was topped up and the staff were very attentive and friendly. A throughly enjoyable experience and afternoon as we weren’t rushed at all. I couldn’t help to notice some of the lunches of others diners and will be going back to sample other things off of there menu.

Always wonderful! As frequent visitors here we are always greeted by such warm, welcoming and friendly staff. We booked for a family lunch, which was simply delicious, everything was freshly prepared, full of flavour and presented on beautiful bone china, the homemade pies are a definite favourite! The menu is varied, with daily specials, all very reasonably priced. Excellent coffee, as well as a wide selection of loose leaf teas served in pretty china tea pots. We will continue to frequent this lovely restaurant when visiting Deal. Next a choice of homemade fruit or plain scone ,served warm with of course Jam and clotted cream. The piece of the resistance was the choice of a piece of homemade cake . We had coffee and walnut, cherry and marzipan and choc and orange, they was about 6 to choose from. No words can describe how delicious they were . This is all complemented with your choice of loose leaf tea ( additional cost if you choose something fancier ie, earl grey).Thank-you so much to all at little harrietts although we don't live in the area we will be back !!.

We took our Grandaughter in later in the day to choose a slice of cake. The choice and quality of their cakes is second to none. She loved the chocolate cake and we also indulged in some ginger cake. Lovely surroundings, quaint table settings and crockery and friendly staff. Food was superb. We had such a lovely time my husband thanked the kitchen staff personally. Excellent.

So nice to have a traditional charming tea room in the heart of Deal. Also lovely to have tea served properly in a china pot with proper tea and not teabags! The choice of cake was immense and my blood orange cake was some of the best cake I’ve ever had. The waitress/service generally was quite cold and they could work with engaging with the customers; a lot of which are elderly & appreciate a beaming smile and some pleasant chat.

I’d spotted this traditional tea shop some time ago but not managed to get there during opening hours.

Loved this little tea room. Very attentive staff and owner. We shared a toasted sandwich, which the chef kindly divided up for us, and then some delicious cake. Everything was perfect. Very special place.

Went here for afternoon tea with my lady friends. The food was excellant with a very nice selection of sandwiches, fruit or plain scones and three small cakes each. The only reason I have given a very good and not excellant review is the fact that one of our ladies wanted decaf tea, another a cup of coffee and one wanted a cheese scone and not fruit, so therefore no cream and jam for her. Each of these items, were charged 50p extra. I couldn't understand this, as surely the cost of decaf and ordinary tea is the same, afternoon tea should in my opinion offer coffee too and why does a cheese scone cost more than a fruit one, especially as you have no fresh cream and jam with it. All in all though a pleasant afternoon in a very nice conservatory.

We recently spent a few nights at the adjacent campsite and went to The Grapevine for breakfast one morning. It was an excellent breakfast - possibly a little pricey but you don’t mind when you get a generous and tasty meal. Cosy little cafe which was very much appreciated on a rainy, windy morning and it also doubled up as a shop with essential items for campers.

I'm a local and I have now had breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails at the village kitchen. Quality food and excellent service and it's always been friendly. I'm very pleased to have thus business in our village.

Visited a couple of times recently and numerous times in the 60s to collect Season Tickets! The coffee is excellent and should make an independent close by look to it's laurels and with the local butcher almost opposite showcasing their bacon and sausages in the Panini I had at The Waiting Room, it's a win-win for both businesses. As the toilet gets more than a mention in reviews, it's a shame that it's been allowed to get shabby as a lot of thought (and money?) obviously was behind it, some of the grouting cleverly referencing the East Kent Road Car Company livery: please give it the care it deserves? Nonetheless I wouldn't hesitate to return, or recommend, as the effort to transform this Arts and Crafts gem, at last, was worth the wait. (D'you see what I did there?)
