Popped in for a sandwich, was pleasantly surprised, food lovely but far too much (if that can be a complaint) home cooked chips and a fresh salad on the side, aling with a hot beef sandwich on lovely brown.uncut bread. Perfect.

the best pub i have been to the atmosphere was very nice and the staff where exceptionally great including a young boy named Jacob who was very nice and polite towards me. the food was out of this world.

Had just a fantastic meal today, amazing value, just absolutely scrummy, can't recommend it highly enough, 10 out of 10, well done.

Wow, this place is amazing for food, I called with my family and had 3 course and only thing I was disappointed with was walking out of the pub pogged. The portions are large but beautiful and will return regularly and recommend

first visit today, fantastic, food was superb,staff were so helpful, well run pub.even though we had not booked a table, we were fitted in with the minimum of fuss,and the service was exceptional.Will certainly going back to this venue in the very near future

This pub has encompassed what a village needs and has accommodated all our requirements with good food, entertainment, book club, themed evenings, charitable events, dog friendly, what more can we ask? Thank you!

Really disapointed tonight normally love it here. Private party in progress,waited ages for a table we had gone to eat told to order before 7 and when we went to order after having a couple of drinks told sorry no food private party, too late to go elsewhere. Not impressed

I drive past the pub regularly and thought I would call for lunch with my grown up children and granddaughter.The positives are the food - really lovely freshly cooked with ample portions and not pricey at all. Steak sandwich with lovely homemade onion rings and salad , salmon and creme fraiche sandwich and sausage and mash . All followed by chocolate brownies and ice cream - delicious food. Negatives - the service was so very slow from ordering food to clearing plates and having dessert we were there 2 hours ! The most disappointing part for me was that as pubs are supposed to be family friendly now there were no facilities to change my granddaughter's nappy - no room whatever in the ladies and when asked if there was a changing mat were told no we don't have one - so other than laying her on the toilet floor we had to manage as best with her held in my arms.

This pub is considered by many in the area to be some sort of local attraction, I found it dull, unwelcoming and not at all family friendly, I was nearby walking and decided to pop in for a cold drink, I walked in to the bar and was ignored by the young girl behind the bar, a second lady eventually asked me if I had been served,which was a relevant question given I was stood in a bar card in hand with no drink and someone was behind the bar, seemed continuing talking to the kids at the bar was more important than serving new customers.

Visited for Saturday lunch with family. Staff were very attentive and happy to accommodate meal preferences. Food was freshly cooked, hot and plentiful with empty plates sent back to the kitchen showing our appreciation. Would recommend and visit again.

Had a lovely meal Pork dinner for me and Chicken for my other half. Good homely food good sized serving but the service made it such a lovely staff team the main hostess was such a pleasure and couldn't have tried any harder. Will deffo be back.

We have visited this lovely traditional pub quite a few times now, In the time that they have been in charge, the landlord and landlady, Patsy and Jackie, have transformed the place, developing an excellent outside bar and beer garden, barbecue area and Pizza oven, putting on entertainment and speciality themed nights. The most important thing that they have done however is, to develop this into a welcoming community pub. Although we are not ourselves, locals, going with family and friends who are, we are always made to feel welcome. They have also continued to promote and to develop their food side, which has increasingly got better, such that we now consider this to be one of the best places around for Sunday Lunch and excellent value. The place has become increasingly busy and therefore booking is advisable. Yesterday our daughter in law booked a table for 12 for family and friends for Sunday lunch and when we arrived the place was packed out. We were concerned when we heard that Patsy and Jackie were on holiday, that we would have a long wait. This was not the case, Keelie, the rest of the staff and Robert the chef, looked after us admirably and the food was better than ever. Well done to all, can't wait to go again.

Highly recommend the hare & hounds for everything & in particular their food which is of top quality, very good choice, excellent portions. Staff are hardworking, accommodating and friendly, Sunday lunch is just the best.

Had lunch here on sat afternoon. Nice menu, my friends had soup and sandwich and sandwich and chips at 6.50. We had the sea food board. Bit expensive at 16 but well worth it and plenty for two for lunch, plenty of prawns and lovely chunky bread.

Hare &hounds; a beautiful quaint little pub with a huge warm welcome the hosts Jackie and patsy are two of the most lovely people you could ever meet the Sunday lunch is to die for all home made they have a singer on every Sunday which is lovely and in the summer months you can sit

Come here regularly it's a great place! The welcome is all warm and friendly and the food is out standing. Excellent choice of beers, wines and the land lady really knows her gins. It great with the family or as a couple. Had a works outing here, we were they really accommodated with food & drinks. The back garden and marquee is beautiful.

I really like this pub. But it's not "just" a pub. It's a community and everyone is welcome local or not. The Hare & Hounds hosts lots of events and allows other people to use it as a meeting place. I particularly enjoy "cuppa & catch up, the book club, the quiz and the local vocals choir." I've made lots of new friends and feel part of the local community. It's a warm, friendly environment where everyone is made welcome, including me, and I don't drink! Jackie and Patrick run it. And in my opinion it's a great environment to be in.

After a yomp through Haigh Wood, we pitched up at the Hare and Hounds for a Christmas Day pint. We were in early and thank goodness, as the place was heaving by 1230! An excellent beer and a look at the menu will tempt us back to sample its delights on a less festive day.

After the taxi driver got us lost we eventually arrived at the hare and hounds to find a very warm and inviting pub the staff were very helpful and really nice definitely recommend going again

This is our local, so we're probably a bit biased! This is a lovely well run pub serving great food with a huge selection of gins. Real ale on tap too!

We've been to this pub a few time's but this is the first time that we have eaten there and got to say I was very impressed with the food. We arrived but unfortunately no one took any notice of us for about 10 minutes. People were behind the bar milling around they were obviously busy doing things but no one gave us any eye contact or acknowledged us I've work in pubs and if someone was waiting I would just say sorry I'll be with you shortly or something just so you're aware that people have seen you it was a bit embarrassing. When we eventually got served I had rhubarb gin and it was presented beautifully we ordered our food and when our starters arrived we very pleased well presented and really big portions tasted really good aswell. I would have given a perfect score if we hadn't waited as long to be served. We'll definitely be back you should try it I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Hadn't been in here for a couple of years, what a transformation. A warm welcome not only for me and my wife, bit when the land lady found out we had left our6 month old Labrador in the car, she told us that this was a dog friendly pub. Looking around there were several dogs there already

Visited with family who live locally on 3rd December. Excellent quality roast for a good price. Staff very friendly and the young girl on singing in the other room was very good too- added bonus. Will be back when we next come to see fam.

Been visiting a few times now. Excellent atmosphere. Warm, welcoming, good food, good drinks, reasonable prices. Different rooms catering for most. Beautiful outside area, well thought out and extremely well lit and heated

Whilst in uncharted waters in urgent need of a Sunday meal we came across this friendly local pub via TripAdvisor. The waitress kindly squeezed us in on a busy late lunchtime and served a very good roast, good beer, and a warm greeting from the landlord and landlady. A proper Yorkshire welcome, thank you.

Called in for a drink at tea time, this is a really nice local friendly pub but unfortunately on this occasion there was a man who was consistently using disgusting and foul language for which you would not wish your family to hear, he was well within earshot of bar staff who did nothing to confront his foul language . It's a shame as it gives a very poor impression of the premises.

Had a lovely lunch time meal for two. Portions were just the right size. Food was presented nicely and bar staff friendly and attentive. Will be back.

Visitamos aquí la semana pasada y quedé muy impresionado. Me cuesta encontrar un lugar para mi hijo para jugar, así que la nueva zona recreativa es perfecto. Ahora tienen un horno de pizza, desayunos en un fin de semana, y en breve estará haciendo comidas y té de la tarde.

Nos gusta visitar este pub en el verano debido a la gran jardín de la cerveza. . . Pero por desgracia algunos de. la clientela dentro deje este pub y eso es donde termina el ambiente familiar.

Metimos en mientras pasando por el almuerzo de domingo. Para mantener este corto que teníamos una visita muy agradable con una buena cena, que consistía en una carne única almuerzo de domingo gratis 4-50 libras y una carne cena £8-95 . La comida era casero y delicioso y una fantástica relación calidad-precio. Buena pinta de Cask de Tetley seguido BT una porción muy generosa de helado sólo £1. El personal es muy educado y el nivel y alta velocidad de servicio era genial. Sin duda volveríamos.

Ubicación conveniente para llamar para comprar comida o bebida. Ambiente agradable, amplio aparcamiento. El lugar estaba lleno de pulgas mosquitos a en el tiempo de verano. viejo y maltratada de muebles y bajo nivel de iluminación sin duda distingue la necesidad de una buena limpieza. Volvería a comer aquí más a menudo, pero soy reacio a hacerlo, ya que el lugar no parece limpio y el personal amable y servicial.
