First visit to this lovely tea room in Normanton. What I presume is the owner was extremely very helpful before we visited communicating the menu etc. The owner sorted us out with a lovely pot of tea and gave recommendations and even went as far to pop a candle in my cake and sing happy bday. How lovely!! We were made to feel like special guests from start to finish. THANK YOU

A wonderful 45 minutes in Vicki's Cups and Cakes today - an impromptu celebration of my father-in-law's 90th birthday (he was born in nearby Altofts on 6th June 1929). Vicki provided a wonderfully warm welcome, lovely home-made cakes, great humour, and a birthday candle. This is a must-visit cafe! Thank you.

Went to Vicki’s for a birthday treat and Sam (aged 9 and a bit of an expert) marked the Chocolate Milkshake the best ever

What a gorgeous, little local gem!!! Lovely decor and very friendly staff! I'd booked afternoon tea for some friends and myself and we all thoroughly enjoyed it! Cute crockery was used to serve the delicious food and the cakes were amazing!!! I've booked again for my staff as a work treat, can not wait 😋😋😋😋

Called here with my daughter and grandson on Wednesday. They both had toasties, followed by chocolate cupcakes. They enjoyed it all. I called back again today for a coffee and vegan cupcake...Wow is the best word to describe the cupcake. I'm allergic to dairy, which usually means no cake for me...needless to say I will be back. Thank you.. you made my day

What a smashing little place. Traditional tea, homemade cakes and buns, great staff and good old Yorkshire hospitality. They offer afternon tea at a very reasonable price with a good selection of sandwiches and even have a child option for afternoon tea so the kids can get involved. They even have the occasional vegan option on the menu and they tell me it's a work in progress with more to come, so if I review here again I'll update you. The portions aren't shy and they're great value for money, I asked for a teapot of earl grey and there was enough in the pot for the whole table. This is just what's needed around here, a traditional tea shop with traditional values and friendly helpful staff. If you're in the area you really need to visit.

After seeing this new tea room decided to go and give it a try , the lady running it is lovely very chatty the decor is vintage and very nice I asked for a ham salad sandwich on brown bread and a slice of rainbow cake What I got was a bread cake that was stale not fresh that day ham that is prepacked processed ham salad consisted of lettuce from a bag and a few tomato slices The cake was stale , not fresh I wish I could say it was enjoyable which is a shame this town needs a tea room like this I hope the owner starts using fresh produce try local bakeries and ham of the bone there are plenty of local butchers This was a takeaway order not eaten on the premises

This is a brand new little cafe which is well worth a visit. Every day there are new fresh baked cakes and scones, but the menu has much more to offer than that. As well as a range of sandwiches, panini, crumpets, milk shakes and other treats, there are ploughman’s lunches and afternoon tea (to be ordered 24 hours in advance). We shared a ploughman’s, which included ham and beef, a range of cheeses, pork pie, delicious bread, pickles and salad - accompanied by unlimited tea or coffee. We could not finish it, and had to ask for a box to take the leftovers home - it was fabulous and great value for money. Can’t wait to go back next week for afternoon tea! It is only a short ride from Xscape at Castleford and Diggerland, and is definitely worth the trip.

The best little cafe in West Yorkshire. Great atmosphere, always friendly, and the staff are really brilliant. Home from home and food and drinks exceptional.

Monday night pie nights are top drawer. Lovely staff, good selection of real ales, dog friendly & the best bit, excellent pies (plenty different flavours to choose from), mushy peas & proper chips. Great excuse for us to walk the dog !! Not many pubs left offering real ale & good pub food in Wakefield, The Star has got it spot on. Well done.
