Visit this place every week, never ever had a bad coffee, sandwich or sweet treat! Top staff n service, Jamie the barista makes a mean latte and the ingredients they use are excellent

Went there in January & they did not have a lot left& it was only 1 o’clock & the place was very cold would not go agin

Great selection of Cakes, Savouries, Coffees and Beers! Been meaning to visit Bake My Day for a while and glad we finally did as everything about it was great! Very friendly customer service as well, the gentlemen was very welcoming and has great enthusiasm towards the beer selection!

So having seen a few reviews talking about this place, and as it had been closed for a refurb we popped in for some cakes. There were quite a few seated so I’m assuming the served food is nice otherwise I would guess it would have been quieter. Anyway they have quite a wide choice of cake and brownies so I bought a few to try and share. They were okay but didn’t blow my socks off or stand out amongst any other cakes I eaten recently. At around £4 per slice I did find the prices quite rich though and probably won’t be back. Apparently there’s a new one opened in Ossett that sell four for £10 and it’s massively popular. Maybe that will bake or make my day?

I called in with my son for a birthday treat after seeing the amazing looking cakes online. We were not disappointed! The rhubarb latte is absolutely amazing and I need more of it in my life! The strawberry and lime cake was a work of art and it was as pleasurable watching the fork move through the frosting as it was to eat it. The cafe appears to be going through some refurbishment and the decor was the only let down. I will definitely be back (I think the rhubarb latte may be addictive!).

I spend my week in London.....battling with HR investigations, Safeguarding investigations, regulatory meetings, staffing issues, urgent clinical issues and 12hr days of stress and crisis management. Then it's oop north, to the supposed run down old mining town with nothing going for it. This little gem is an oasis of northern charm, friendliness, high quality local produce and chilled out Yorkshire ambience.

Dont even think about passing this place up. Breakfast is awesome and the cakes are all vegan and delicious... im not even vegan !

1st time here don't think I'll rush back, decor and setting meant to be industrial quirky but more like tatty. Cutlery dirty, paint corroded on metal mugs....rust dis-coloured the water? Cakes looked good, most around £3.50 lots not covered, pre made sandwiches only, seemed very popular so must be doing something right but I wouldn't pay what they're charging for the setting or attention to detail ☹

I love the brunches at Bake My Day. Always a great vegan selection. The bread is delicious. As a coffee fan it is lovely but always seems a small serving and I need to have 2. Stylish place and priced in the treat region for us. Good selection of cake always available for vegans. All the plant milks are extra chargeable.

Food glorious and so much that we had to take lots home. Excellent friendly service. A good time was had by all. Big thank you to the team. We will be back

Had a slight issue last week, The owner contacted me to personally apologise. After understanding the situation I gave the place another try today. All I can say is Turkish eggs are a must! Portion size is great and if you can fit dessert in try the Strawberry cheesecake brownie, Very satisfied customer who will be going again and very pleasant interaction with the owner who was 100% dedicated to making a customer happy.

Myself and my other half try and visit here once a week for our weekend desert treat and are never disappointed! I am a coeliac and require a gluten free diet and my other half is vegan so we are often a nightmare to cater for as you can imagine. However, BMD always have a varied range of deserts for each of us in which change often every week, each delicious as the other. The staff are very knowledgeable for our dietary needs and happy to help out wherever they can! I don’t often leave reviews in all honesty but feel as though some further recognition for a small independent business is required as it is truly fantastic. In reading the negative reviews I would like to state that each one has visited on numerous occasions in which they have enjoyed their visits to BMD. However, have only left a negative review after one bad experience in which are trivial at best! Keep up the good work as most of us can appreciate the hard work you do!

We recently visited BMD & I couldn’t walk by the time I left. The choice of home baking & variety of unique funky food is superb. The tray bakes are are amazing & some of them are works of art & to good to eat but I have it my best go. The slutty brownie is a personal favourite of mine. Staff were very attentive & couldn’t have done any more to make sure we had a super pleasant visit. Looking forward to Visiting again.

Bought cakes at the market and as dry as anything . Not worth the price . Need to up their game for the prices they charge .

My Saturday brunch at Bake My Day is becoming a real highlight to my week. Having read reviews of slow service and rude staff (vast minority of reviews) I honestly question where those people went - the whole BMD team are a wonderful bunch who make you feel welcome. Things take longer than a greasy spoon cafe....because they're a high quality, passionate about food, attention to detail kinda joint. Emma, Ellie, Jamie and the team are a real shining light in West Yorkshire. Prices? You get what you pay for and it's worth every penny.

I’m really sorry to have to write this review, as we’ve been to Bake My Day approx in excess of 20 times in the past. We often come with friends and all of us feel the same and agree with comments below. - Food is of good quality, although portion sizes vary - I ordered avocado on toast and paid £2.50 for extra bacon; it came with 1 slice of bacon which is disappointing. - they can’t accommodate children. I asked for 1-2 scrambled eggs and beans for our 18 month old and was told everything is pre packaged into adult portions therefore I’d have to order from the adult menu. I can’t understand why it’s too much trouble to cook 2 scrambled eggs and put some beans in a pan. Also, is it really that fresh if everything is pre-made??? - staff are very hit and miss. Sometimes friendly but often a bit stand-off-ish. We often don’t feel that welcome (plenty of other reviews also mention this). - food timings. Food often comes late and we rarely eat together. We ordered 4 breakfasts (5 including the child’s) and there was 25 mins between the first and last arriving. - finally the cost. We often get a cake/flapjack to take away and the bill is always around the £50 mark. I don’t mind paying for good food but when I pay £50 for 2 people and a child to have breakfast I expect exceptional service. We pay approx £90-100 between the 4 of us and this price is similar to 5* and Michelin establishments in Leeds and York such as The Ivy and The Star In The City. Unfortunately the 4 of us have decided that this is the last straw for us which is disappointing as we like to support small local businesses. If it’s too much trouble to make some scrambled eggs and beans for my daughter, and if it’s too hard to ensure all 4 breakfasts come out at the same time, and if it’s too hard to be welcoming to customers, especially when I’m paying £50 for breakfast, then I’ll take my custom elsewhere.

The food was delicious, did have to wait a while but it was worth it! The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice and chilled. The only complaint I could have was that because the place is quite small we did have to wait for a table to become free but nothing can be done about that really. Will be coming for the afternoon tea because it looked amazing!

The food is amazing the latte is beauty, the place is lovely! A nice little place as i grew up in that area. But the disappointment was the staff i felt like we werent welcome and the person behind the till was rude.

Went for a casual lunch and the menu is small but this means it’s all made fresh. Which it clearly is all carefully made in their kitchen which is visible. Staff all really friendly and the cakes .... well .... you just can’t resist. From brownies to rainbow cakes. Just make sure you leave enough room. Certainly a place to visit for excellent food.

Great place and brill for vegan food! The vegan cakes are amazing and great coffees, see a lot of comments about the staff not been up customers arses but I prefer it that way! Pleasant enough folk can't grumble, a rate little gem and worth a visit!

Bake My Day supplied a whole variety of savoury and sweet treats for 2 large events we held at work. The gorgeous ladies there were so friendly and helpful to ensure the items fit with the themes and the requirements we had. The selection was not only beautiful to look at - Afternoon Tea, Yorkshire Style - but was truly delicious. I could not recommend them more highly! Xx

Best coffee ever and a fab range of food and cakes to suit everyone’s taste! Always end up trying something new as everything sounds too good.

This place is a hidden gem in Castleford. If you're fed up of big brand coffee houses, pretentious independent coffee shops and greasy spoons (or if you love these but want to try something different) Bake My Day is the place to go. All their cakes look so lovingly made and decorated (their Instagram always makes me hungry), they also taste amazing too! Their coffee is beautiful, as well as having an extensive menu of other drinks. Their lunch menu is never a let down. When ever I have been their menu and cakes always caters for those who are meat eaters, veggie, vegan and gluten free. The staff are friendly and amazing at what they do.

Came here for my sisters birthday, ordered vegetarian afternoon teas. Staff were lovely and the food was amazing. Will definitely be returning.

So as a coffee lover/caffeine addict with a sweet tooth- I didn’t object to going all this way- 20 miles to get her gluten free goodies.

WOW... just wow, what an amazing little find. I have never seen such a tantalising selection of scrummy home made cakes n treats.

My sister and I like exploring places for afternoon tea and this place is a little gem! A friend recommended it and it did not disappoint. Its a tiny little cafe but the food was amazing, it was the small touches that made it different, chutney and roast peppers on the sandwiches ect. We were offered top up of tea regularly. The only thing I would have liked is for us to be told what we had on the stand when it was brought to the table, there isnt a standard menu, what comes out appears to be a surprise but a delicious one!

We’ve been to bake my day for brunch many a time and they’ve never disappointed, I think that the waffle sandwich that I had this time was one of my favourite things I’ve eaten here, it was super simple but really well made.

Booked afternoon tea in advance. Service was slow my friend got her drink and mine never arrived. No one described what the sandwiches were some red coloured meat?! Very expensive £16 pp for a basic afternoon tea. Wouldn't order it again. Lack of parking and hard to monouver a pram around.

I visited here a few months back with my Mum and young daughter, we all had a lovely visit.

It's so great to have somewhere in little old Cas that prides itself on quality. Quality of the finished product and the ingredients that go in. I have eaten here loads of times and my wife even more and we will continue to do so. I always go for a brunch and it never disappoints, the quality of the coffee is the best I have had anywhere. My wife loves all there sweet treats and we have also been to 2 of their supper clubs that were also excellent.

Me and my family went for my bday and it tasted immense, I definitely recommend to go there. Yummy xx

As nice as some of their baked goods are (and i'm not a negative nellie) the staff really need to change. You are not acknowledged when you come in through the door and I sent a message once about a bespoke order and never got a reply so I found someone else. I don't feel like this place can take constructive criticism, I have seen it before where someone has not given a good review and they've taken to social media and ranted on their instagram story. Honestly, if you took the advice on board you'd please more people! I feel they should have a staff member for front of house tills/greeting/social media/phone etc as I've been stood at the till a long time when I've visited. A recent cake I tried of a friend's was very dry and I feel the prices are too high.

Had afternoon tea there today. What a treat. Everything about it was excellent. There was so much and everything was so delicious. Can’t understand some of the previous reviews. I have had experience of plenty of afternoon teas and this one was by far the best both in quality , price. Value for money.

I would highly recommend this cafe. The cakes are amazing! They have a wide selection of coffees and cakes, if you are Gluten Free or Vegan this is the place for you! The brownies in particular are excellent. I would also recommend following them on Instagram as they will update you on what cakes they have in the cafe but be warned, they all look so delicious you’ll keep wanting to come back!

We came quite a distance to visit after seeing lovely photos of the afternoon tea online, but I think it was a case of Instagram vs reality, as when we arrived nobody acknowledged us and we waited ten minutes to get to the counter because there was only one person serving customers who was also making hot drinks.

Came here for breakfast with 3 others. It was quite busy . Had a good browse at the menu and decided on Avocado on toast . The service was very slow, each breakfast brought out in 5 minute intervals which meant we all ate at different times. Breakfast was really nice but they really need to improve on service and get more staff. 45 mins waiting is rather too much. The cakes etc looked delicious but very pricey.

Had this place recommended to me by a friend and seen them a bit on social media. Wow what a great place it is, a teeny bit outside of the town centre but it's well worth the trip.

My Daughter took me here for afternoon tea for my birthday, really gorgeous food and the attention to detail is amazing.

Myself and friends/family have been here on numerous occasions and the food has always been nice. On this occasion we had afternoon tea for the second time, the food itself was lovely and presentable, although I feel for £16 it is very basic yet expensive. The afternoon tea was brought to our table and put down with no explanation as to what each item was, granted I know a scone and sandwich when I see one but the other items could have been explained to us.

I’d been looking forward to visiting bake my day for a few months after following them on instagram. Popped in over the weekend to grab some cake to take away.

Was told about this cafe ( all positive comments) so decided to check out their vegan options and their general menu.

All I can say is wow! Visited with a friend for afternoon tea. £16 each which is pre-bookable. We had a specialty coffee (great coffee!) & tea. Neither of us like avocado so this was kindly substituted. Ham with sweet onion chutney, hallumi cheese with pepper & tuna mayonnaise were our sandwiches, on fresh seeded bread. We also had a lovely light pastry twist. Cakes were lemon, peanut butter brownies, meringues, macarons & a huge cream scone with berries. There was also a divine rhubarb cream. It is a quirky little place with friendly staff & the food is delicious. An absolute gem; will be back again & again!

The cakes are moist and delicious and so full of flavour. Amazing vegan options which is really nice, so good to have multiple options! Would definitely visit again.

I visited here with my boyfriend and all I can say is AMAZING!! There was so much to choose from both food and drink wise. I had the Victoria sponge cake which was gorgeous and fresh, my boyfriend had the smores which I had to have a nibble of because it looked delicious!! He also had the bubble gum soda and this was to die for! The staff were so welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be back, hopefully next time to try the afternoon tea! Thank you!

A friend had recommended that we try a breakfast at BMD, as it was a bit special, and we weren't disappointed. Initially, we feared that we might struggle to get a seat, but we then disovered that there's an additional 30 seats available in a second room. The service was warm and friendly, and the food was excellent, and clearly served with pride. As I'm a bit of a traditionalist, I naturally chose the English Breakfast on Toast, but the menu featured a comprehensive range of vegetarian and vegan dishes. All the individual components of my breakfast were of high quality, and the whole plate had clearly been cooked to order. We'll definitely be back, if only because we didn't have space left to try the various lovely cakes on display!

Such an impressive selection of cakes! All freshly homemade - you can see the love that goes into each bake. I had a flat white that was spot on too! Next time I'm coming for brunch which all looked tasty too.

Everytime I visit my parents, I make a point of going to Bake My Day. The food is fantastic and the service is always warm and friendly. Castleford is crying out for a more adventurous food scene and Bake My Day is definitely a step towards that. The coffee is the best for miles and there are always plenty of vegan options. Ordering from the brunch menu, the avocado on toast with balsamic tomatoes is delicious and the brownies are to die for. The menu is consistently interesting and varied and there is always a welcoming atmosphere in the cafe. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great food.

I’ve only been here for coffee and sweet treats but dying to try out the vegan afternoon tea and other savoury dishes! Won’t let me upload a photo but around Valentine’s Day they were selling strawberry and champagne cupcakes that were divine! They can use oatly milk for their coffees which are beaut. I love the fact that they accommodate vegans and even more so that I’m close enough to get my fix. They post quite a bit on Instagram so you can keep up to date with what’s on offer. We haven’t had an issue so far of finding a table but do seem to always be relatively busy. May be not the warmest or smiliest staff but that may be due to being quite busy all the time. Food for all ages and taste buds. Would def recommend.

Absolutely lovely place. We are now repeat visitors after following their Instagram page for a far too long! We have always found it very child friendly, with options for all tastes/dietary requirements and we always have a great experience (and are very spoilt for choice!) The ladies are absolute joys.. we feel like friends.. so very confused at the 'unfriendly' comments. Seriously, if you want to be served GO TO THE COUNTER. It isn't a restaurant! The girls are very busy and as has been said before, their bakes are made from scratch and with care and passion. This is family run and what they produce is WORTH THE WAIT, if you want fast food go to Greggs where Bernadette with her fag stained fingers will happily hand your pasty over.

Lots of positives for this place, we've been about 6 times over the past 4 months and will keep returning. Breakfast is very very good. Cakes and buns are truly excellent. The 2 downsides are as follows;

What I liked about this place- decor, the cake, coffee, food (a simple but varied menu with something for everyone including vegan and gluten free), the fact they are trying something different (especially outside of Leeds).

I’ve been following these guys on Instagram for ages but living in Leeds I’ve been rubbish and haven’t made it over til last week. It was totally worth the wait and I will be a repeat customer for sure - already planned my next trip.

I have been here a handful of times. Each time has been nice with the surroundings and food. The cakes are different to other cake shops with different flavours. The only down side I have is the customer service, each time I have been I feel the staff have been that busy they don't acknowledge your stood waiting, or if they do they don't say anything. Other than this it is a really lovely shop and worth the visit.

The cakes we had were very nice but a smile or a friendly welcome would have been nice too. Asked for a donut that was on the blackboard to be told we only do them on Saturdays so why have them on the board on a Wednesday. Would I go again no we were not made to feel welcome at all.

Popped in for a quick lunch stop with my wife on a Saturday. I had a pastrami and sauerkraut bagel with a side salad, which was very nice, but as is the trend, was served on a (very small) board. As such, I spent half of the lunch chasing bits of salad back onto the board as they continued to fall off. I laughed as a diner at the next table struggled likewise with runny yolks on her poached eggs on toast. What's wrong with putting food on a plate?

Taken out for my birthday for afternoon tea. Food was lovely.. they have some unusual sandwich choices but ate all but 1 and still unsure what it was. My friend couldn’t drink her pot of coffee which was made with a coffee bag? Scone was fresh and crumbly and delicious.. took my cakes home. Only complaint which couldn’t be helped was the naughty toddler on the next table that took no notice of his mum and refused to sit and eat and the constantly crying baby.

This is a hard review to right because I hold this establishment in such high regards, but as an over all experience, I was left feeling a little saddened when I visited yesterday.

This is a really nice place to eat and drink and pass the time. The menu isn't huge but the majority of options are veggie/vegan friendly and it seems the menu options change quite a bit for variety. The bread is very fresh and cakes are lovely. The prices are slightly on the high side but for the quality i think its worth it.

This was my second visit - first since they moved over the road. I came with a friend and his two little boys and there was something for all of us. I am vegan so it was lovely to have such a big selection I could order from! I got the smokey beans on sourdough with avocado - I hate tinned baked beans but these were a million times better! The almond milk latte was very well made and delicious. We then got cake to take away - again there was a great vegan selection (and gf), I even got two extras to have later on as it was so hard to choose! Service was good, very helpful and efficient despite being quite busy. I would definitely recommend and I will be back.

Amazing cakes, sausage rolls and other fab baking from this little cafe. Quirky place with lovely friendly vibe. Always something new to try, too many choices! Will be calling again soon.

Visited yesterday for afternoon tea. Delicious mini enamel cup of soup with a twist, followed by an assortment of sandwiches, rhubarb posset & a to die for scones & cakes.... we're faultless, my mum who's a Betty's regular said if far surpassed there. Will be definitely returning. Great afternoon tea.

Really relaxed venue tucked away in a residential area of Castleford serving amazing main meals and cakes.

Lovely food and scrummy cakes! Everything fresh and homemade. The ham and cheese toasties with chutney are gorgeous and served with salad and coleslaw.

Mi marido y yo llamé para un aperitivo y una taza de té. Los bocadillos eran frescas y sugerentes. El té se sirve en un gran tazón antiguo esmalte de moda, con pintorescas tazas de porcelana y platillos. Los pasteles deliciosos y tenían pinta iba bien con otros clientes. En el día y estaba tan decepcionado pedimos la ensalada de pasta del día que anunciaban en el menú y me dijeron que no había ensalada de pasta hoy en día. Entonces decidimos ir con croissant de nuevo en el menú, y me dijeron que no que no habían sido cruasanes aún entregado y estaba casi 12 o'clock. .

Gran comida italiana temática sirve bien cocinado a la perfección.

Rara vez dan malos sobre lugares que he visitado y han sido muy emocionados de visitar este lugar hoy. A ser desilusionados. Yo soy el tipo de prueba 'lugares nuevos y estaba deseando ver ofrecían alimentos sin gluten.

I had a vegan chocolate fudge birthday cake made for my daughter. Both the service and the cake were great. Really happy with both.

Visited after lusting over their instagram page. Lovely decor to go with a tasty soup and delicious cake. Nice to see vegan cake options too. Visited on a Saturday so was a limited food menu so keep that in mind if you visit.

Descubrí BMD a través de una recomendación de un amigo en el trabajo y tenía algunas galletas caseras para mis amigos hornear bodas de la! Huelga decir que me ganó, pero tenía que hasta que no fess había realizado! ! Eran absolutamente precioso.

Descubrimos este café en Facebook y me llamó en la promesa de pastel vegetariano. . . Ciertamente no me decepcionó. Aunque la grosella negra (creo) tarta bakewell no inicialmente sonido como sería mi taza de té, me alegro porque me tomé la oportunidad fue una delicia. El nivel de dulce y bastante pesado y una porción considerable, por lo que definitivamente vale la pena el 3 libras. Las tartas recién horneadas, así que estoy muy emocionada de ver que la tarta vegana está en oferta la próxima vez que visite.

Visited the new shop recently and it's even better than the old place as now you can sit inside. Free wifi available with plenty of power points. Cakes and hot drinks to the usual excellent standards. The best cafe in Castleford.

Qué pequeña tienda. Muy atractivo y una selección de tartas bien presentado. Me tomaron una pequeña casa selección para la familia para probar y eran encantadores vendrán pronto. Mantener el buen trabajo de las chicas es muy apreciada en esta zona espero que más personas invertir.

Sabes que vas a tratar cuando la intenciones son hacer cola en la puerta! Esta fue nuestra primera visita a cocinar mi día, he estado queriendo probar este lugar local para las edades! Las tartas eran excelentes! Tuve el jengibre y tarta de limón, que era impresionante y mi marido tenía el pastel flowerbomb. Dijo cada capa era muy sabrosa y muy húmedos. El café también era genial! Mi marido es un total de café es muy pijo y en sus frijoles y cuando le pregunté lo que pensaba de café, él pensó que era genial! Estoy de acuerdo, era fuerte y justo lo que necesitábamos para deleitarte comenzar nuestro día! Ai no daba tiempo para nadie débil café! Íbamos a tomar nuestras tartas caseras, pero terminamos craqueo los abre en el coche! (No éramos los únicos! El coche aparcado detrás de nosotros hizo exactamente lo mismo! Ja!) Este lugar es lo nuestro comunidad de necesidades castleford! Un sitio un poco diferente, que vende de alta calidad, proporcionan gran floración y peculiar café! Sin duda apoyar este fantástico negocios locales! Bien hecho, chicas!

If you plan to travel in the south-west of Ireland, this coffee shop is strongly recommended for its authentic home-made made cakes, most of them are baked by the owner Jim. I will not forget the Irish style's hospitality and sense of humour :-)

Es un lindo y pequeño peculiar joya en la esquina y la chicas que trabajan allí son encantadoras. Sólo tiff es que algunas de las tartas son un poco caros, yo una opinión sincera. Pero aparte de eso todo bien :).

I had a salami and cheese sandwich and the most to die for coffee and walnut cake heaven in a slice my husband ordered the coconut brownie very quirky little coffee shop offering afternoon tea for 12.00 in and can take out for 11.00 may have to do that next fab little place

Nos encanta este lugar. Vamos una o dos veces al mes y nunca he tenido una mala experiencia. Gran café/bebidas caseras, gran comida y pasteles y golosinas. Absolutamente encanta hornear mi día. Hemos estado yendo bastante mucho ya que abrió el año pasado. Lo más increíble, bonitos y actividad inventiva tartas y siempre tienen una o dos opciones para vegetarianos. La comida sabrosa es abundante, saludable y sabrosa, y todo es una buena relación calidad-precio. El café es excelente y tienen una pequeña mesa para cenar si lo desea, incluso puedes reservarla con antelación de su visita. Las señoras que lo llevan son tan encantadores, y no creo que nos dimos cuenta del todo de lo bien que están. He estado entusiasmado sobre este lugar de amigos, familia y compañeros.
