Staff very friendly and polite, food amazing and portions huge. Restaurant immaculate with lovely furnishings and decor. Lovely garden with plenty of seating areas

The food here is incredible!! I had the halloumi burger and the topping inside the delicious bun were incredibly generous. The chips were so tasty, as was the coleslaw! All of the food was so well cooked. The garden was beautiful and we were able to make the most of the glorious sunshine.

Have to drive here all the way from Simpsonville, but we love to go to the Hare & Hound. The food is really good and totally worth the price that they charge. One of the best Rubens I’ve had anywhere that wasn’t a true deli and their prime rib, which is available after 5 PM is outstanding. Check it out and yes, the line and the wait downstairs tends to be long, however most people don’t know you can go outside and there’s a stairway that goes upstairs. Hopefully, you’ll be waited on by a bartender named Larae’ and she’s awesome!!

Stopped here for lunch doing a little day trip to the foothills. First time we have been, good food, great service, loved the atmosphere. Will definitely go again next time we are in the area

All of our fans really hyped up this place. The atmosphere was fine. We loved the popcorn while waiting for our food. Our waitress was Monika and she was lovely, so friendly and happy to answer our questions. She never let our drinks go empty. I was excited to see so many gluten-free menu options. They’re clearly labeled on the menu. The gluten-free bread was absolutely delicious. We were a little bit, disappointed by the onions in our food. They were a strange texture and not very flavorful. I’m allergic to mushrooms, but he said his mushrooms were the same way. All in all, we loved the atmosphere and we plan to give it another shot in case the onions was just a one off thing. I absolutely loved my green beans that were the side to my gluten-free patty melt. There was a long wait but we called ahead so we were already 20+ minutes into waiting technically so we only waited 22 minutes once we got there and we felt like that was very fair. Most of the shops around we’re closed, but we walked far down the street and there was one antique shop that was open and we enjoyed shopping there for 22 minutes and we walked back when we got our text.

My husband went there and had dinner tonight. I had the ribeye and my husband had the prime rib. Both of our dinners were delicious. My steak I could have cut with a fork. Definitely will be returning. The staff was so nice and very good service. Definitely a place to try if you have never been.

The food is your typical bar food that you would find just about anywhere. The atmosphere is nice with a feeling of comfort. The service is good as well as friendly. The one down fall of this place is that you will have to wait to get a table. The line is out the door and down the street sometimes which is good for business. This place has the chick-filet effect. Long lines for average food and I don’t see the hype. I like the place because I like bar food but there are many other places in town that have better food if you don’t want wait in line.

We wanted to be sat in the main dining area, but we're encouraged to go upstairs to the pub area. That was a bad mistake. The food was decent, but service not so much. We waited... and ....waited....The server seemed to get annoyed when we asked to get a different side with the meal than what was on the menu. Even with all this, we were still wanting to get a dessert. We sat there and waited again. Nobody would come by. We gave up decided to just pay and leave. Still couldn't get anyone's attention. I had to stand and in front of the bar acces path and step in front of the server to get her attention.

Absolutely love this restaurant. Prices are super fair and we’ve never had a bad meal here.

I usually absolutely love ordering from here but today I got a to go order and was pretty disappointed. I only got the Spinach and Artichoke dip and they barely gave me dip at all. Usually I can share my dip but this was barely enough for one person. Maybe it's just an off day but just wasn't worth the money in my opinion today.

I love this place! Make sure to make a reservation otherwise there might be a wait but it's SSSOOOO worth the wait!

This is one of our newest, favorite date night spots. For us, it is a bit of a drive, so worth it!! The food is just phenomenal!! Always make a reservation, if you want right in, otherwise you could wait a good hour or two. We have gone and the line is out the door and around the corner. It is that good its worth the wait. The prices are surprisingly good compared to most popular restaurants. You can go dressy, or dressed down. Its kinda like a sports club as well. There is a bar with a huge selection of adult beverages. We do not drink so cannot speak to taste, sorry. The staff are so friendly, talk to you like they see you there all the time. We feel very comfortable there. Highly recommend. Will return again and again.

Our favorite restaurant! Never had a bad meal here. So many great items on their menu. Food is always served hot, fresh. Service is always great. Only downside is that everyone else loves it too, so always busy and there is usually a wait. But the wait is worth it!

We have been twice, after the first time we thought we would give it a second chance the first time food was bland, we were sat at a corner table in patio during winter, experience was not good, went this past Saturday, food was bland, everything felt sticky, the menu and the tables and the booth. The server was ok...but not present, really wanted to like it. Won't be back.

The onion straws are amazing. I've never had anything bad. The chicken liver today was perfect, and the mushroom Swiss burger was devoured. Great service

Had the chicken pot pie for lunch, must say it was quite tasty with big chunks of chicken and piping hot. All in all, reasonably priced, good food, but feel like they're always understaffed.

Saw this lovely pub in the Good Beer Guide and visited for lunch today. We all had the steak pie which was fabulous as was the veg etc. Finished with desserts and cheese and biscuits and waddled out very full and happy.

What an experience in cuisine. Ordered the clam chowder. Best I've ever tasted. EVER! Had the fried catfish and it was perfectly cooked. Atmosphere was quaint and cozy. Service was superb. Can't wait for another trip to try other items from their tasty menu.

We have loved the Hare and Hound for several years. Celebrated my husband's birthday last night and my steak was not to my liking. The management went above and beyond to make it right... and our server, Amanda was wonderful! Thank you everyone. See you next time!

Love the place but it has become impossible to call in an order these days.

We come in a few times a month, today they had a special appetizer of falafel and it was amazing!! Please add it to the regular menu, we'd order every visit!

The Guinness was great paired with the Guinness pie. Excellent service and atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Went to a dinner for a wedding reception here. Everything was great. Great food. Great atmosphere. Only downside to this area is the parking but that is not Hare and Hound fault.

My family and I had sunday lunch here yesterday. We all had the roast and it was DELICIOUS! Three of us had the 2 meat roast and the meat was cooked perfectly. Lots of choice of veg with a perfect yorkshire pudding and delicious stuffing. The staff are always so friendly too. We love it here! A wonderful good old English pub serving great pub food with lovely staff.

Had a wonderful Sunday brunch. Best country fried steak I think I've ever had. And I've had a lot.

It’s was our first time here and let me say we are impressed. Our server Chloe was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She did everything exceptionally, she never let us even get to half a glass of beverage before she was already re filling it. We had a few modifications and her and the kitchen was more than accommodating! The food was amazing!

Food was phenomenal per usual but the service was lacking honestly didn't grab the servers name tbh not quite sure she even greeted with it but she forgot our h&h sampler and I ordered my mom a shot of clase azul and when we got the check is said casa blanco which I'm assuming is really casamigos blanco at the end of the day it affected her tip bc she was lame in her department of putting in food and being knowledgeable on liquour that one shot of clase would of put the sells higher for her and the gratuity but ultimately she got less then 18% bc of the mistakes

Waiters would not talk to us or service us they suck. I will not ever go back ! And I will tell all my Friends and family, that go there to never go back.and if any one goes up stairs you are in for a treat.

This place has consistently excellent food and service!! We always stop when we're traveling through! It's the highlight of our trip! Highly recommend!!

We had a waitress named Mary. She was great. My husband had the Reuben sandwich. I had mushroom and Swiss burger. Both very good. Will be back. The onion rings were great.

I ordered the Fish and Chips and the wife ordered the seared trout. Both meals were delicious. Our waitress Amanda was very attentive making sure our glasses were full, and the food was as ordered. They even brought us freshly popped Popcorn before our meal! Will be back again soon!

Went along for an evening meal for 2 on a very cold January night. Despite the weather the place was full and had a lovely warm and welcoming vibe. Staff were great and extremely friendly, food was top notch and prices were very reasonable too. Highly recommend you give the Hare & Hounds a try. A cracking good place to be. We’ll be back for sure.

Our experience was outstanding but it's because of our server Myra. All 4 of us agreed we have never received such over the top service. And yes, the food was excellent. But Myra truly turned our dinner outing into an evening we will never forget. She truly deserves to be acknowledged in a big way. These days it's hard to find someone so gracious, friendly, and with such a huge smile. Plus she was so very helpful answering our questions.

We have been wanting to try this place for a long time and we were not disappointed. Amanda P was the best server! She took excellent care of us. The food was amazing, especially the peanut butter pie!

This is our "go to pub" for dinner with friends, family or just the two of us. Cosy pub, always beautifully decorated for the season or occasion, friendly and efficient staff, fantastic pub food delivered in huge portions at very reasonable prices. Inside and outside seating areas - restaurant or bar, covered area outside with a play area for kids, reasonable sized car park (thank you for filling in some of the holes recently!), although we sometimes walk there in the summer from Uckfield. Gets busy, so worth calling ahead to book especially in the lead up to Christmas. Dog friendly too!

Very busy place but worth the wait !

We love this place, food is good, service is always friendly and helpful. Would suggest just a couple of things, the decorations and trim need a good polishing, noticed a lot of dust on our last visit. Also, many of the string lights over the bar are burned out.

We had to wait about 40 mins to be seated but once seated waitress came right over and I got the cup of Clam Chowder that was so delicious and warming on a cold, wet evening. The Pan Seared NC Trout was cooked to perfection along with real mash potatoes and green beans. For dessert my granddaughter and I shared the Chocolate Bomb with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, YUM. Excellent! We will be back and it is so worth the wait❣️

First time visiting H&H. We're here off-season, but the restaurant is still very busy at 1 pm. We arrived without reservations and were seated within 15 minutes on the patio. Fortunately, as cool as it was outside, 54⁰, it was very pleasant on the patio. Our server quickly took our drink order, giving us plenty of time to look through the menu. My wife ordered New England clam chowder and Pilgrim sandwich, and I had the Guinness beef pie. The order took about 20 minutes, fine enough we were in no rush. The presentation looked very good and tasted even better. My wife thought the soup was very good, not salty or too peppery like some NE chowders. The beef pie had a nice flavor, not bland, nor complex, but average and still good. We split a dessert, hot apple pie ala mode, which was excellent. I can imagine that during high season, the place is even busier. Parking was a slight challenge already. My only real complaint would be sitting on the patio that there is a lot of traffic noise from the nearby intersection, which is no fault of the restaurant. Otherwise, it's a delightful dining adventure. Enjoy.

A lovely little pub with great food and a great atmosphere. We booked for Christmas eve a couple of weeks ahead and the email communication was really good, arrived and a lovely table was ready for us. The food was beautiful with generous portions, all home cooked. Definitely worth a visit as such a stunning country pub and the landlords are so welcoming.

Pretty cool little spot if you are going through that area. The free popcorn was something different compared to other places. Food was good, service could have been little better but not the worst. Would recommend it if you are in that area.

Went for the first time from a recommendation from a coworker. Great little place. They do have outside seating that is covered and heated. With it raining decided to eat inside. I started with a salad. I got ranch dressing which tasted home made. For main I got Swiss and mushroom burger with fries. Burger was done perfectly cooked to medium and tasted great. For dessert I had the fried cheesecake. Came with ice

Don't let the tiny town vibe of Landrum scare you away! Check this place out!! RSVP ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, but beware, you may & most likely, will be waiting even past your reservation time. It's just that busy, especially on the weekend!!

One of our favorite places. You can close your eyes and point to anything on the menu and wouldn’t go wrong!!! Everything is so good!! Also the calamari is really good.

Hare and the Hound is an amazing find in the small town of Landrum. The atmosphere is wonderful, even the outdoor patio was very comfortable in the cold weather as they have it closed off and outdoor heaters, If needed. The menu has a lot to select from with great options, including a couple of vegetarian options. The food was amazing, you can tell that the chef puts a lot of thought and effort into the food. Our server was extremely friendly, helpful, and offered a lot of insight when questions were asked. Would highly recommend and we'll plan to visit again in the future.

They fitted us in even though they were really busy with Christmas parties. The gluten free menu was great and the burger was delicious. I had the steak pie, best I've had in a long time. Amily really made us feel welcome and looked after us brilliantly.

We found this place on a road trip. Hungry for lunch we Googled restaurants nereby. The Hare & Hound came up and looked interesting. To our delight the atmosphere, food and service were outstanding. Terrific menu to choose from! Josh, our server was not only attentive but friendly. The town of Landrum is cute and quaint. Really good experience.

We were seated quickly. Our waiter was great. (His name slips my mind) He gave us plenty of time to review the menu and ask questions. No long wait time to receive our meals. Everything was perfect and the food is always 👌

We love The Hare and Hound, I can't think of anything they could improve on. Their food is top notch, their service is incredible. We normally get the Guinness pie stew but we were there for brunch so I ventured out to try the country fried chicken with sawmill gravy, mashed potatoes, and normally green beans but I swapped it out for half fries half onion straws, their fries and onion straws are incredible! The country fried chicken is huge, perfectly seasoned, and crispy.

We had a great lunch; burgers, reuben, and tuna melt sandwiches, and my mother had the fish and chips, which was so fresh and delicious. Everything was fresh and tasty. Our server Josh did an awesome job, very friendly and quick service. We will definitely come back to visit Landrum.

I have always said this place has the best bar food in the area……. Tonight, we tried the special entrees. Wow, we were blown away. We had the snapper and it was amazing!!! The steaks are great as well.

If you ever need a wedding or other event catered up in Landrum/Tryon, I highly recommend Hare & Hound! They were incredibly helpful on the day of our wedding with set up and even boxed up the food to go! They also stayed within our budget and were able to accommodate our request for a mimosa bar! The food at the restaurant is always great, so I knew the chefs would outdo themselves for a wedding. And all our guests loved the food and still rave about it!
