Happy Garden in Guildford

Very disappointed. Bland over cooked greasy food. Service is slow even though not busy. The takeaway has been in the village as long as I’ve been alive but unfortunately a few years ago it got taken over by a new family and has gone down hill ever since. First time we had been in about a year as it wasn’t great last time but gave the benefit of the doubt but definitely won’t bother again. Over priced over cooked slop.

Very disappointing chicken blackbean like dishwater and had a sauce what consisted of ketchup! And argued the point when i rang and complained difent even want to give it one point to be honest..very rude

Weve always got out take aways from HG, even though we live 7 miles away and local take aways. They have always been the best in the area, but last nights TW was overcooked honey ribs, overcooked prawn balls, it was all a bit tired, not up the usual standard.

After the last few deliveries from Happy Garden Ash Wharf. I have decided to never buy food from here again. we have reached our limit of poor food from here . The quality is so varied it is impossible to ascertain what quality we will receive. so with regret i will not buy from them again

Have been using this takeaway for many years and it has always been top quality, tasty food. Have only every used the collection service and pre-ordered, but they are always ready when I arrive to collect.

passing through the village whilst on holiday and took a chance on this takeaway. really happy with meal, ordering on the telephone with no fuss and the young man patiently explained a couple of the dishes i asked him about and then a lovely friendly lady when i turned up to pick up and pay. thanks Happy Garden x

I just moved into the area & tried for the first time, i am quite particular about good quality and happy about this garden

My partner has been going there for over 30 years and, food did go down a couple of years ago but seemed to have got a little better and this was told to the now owners at the time. My partner doesn't like too much veg in his food so when he tells the owners this they jumped straight fown his throat and said you won't get extra chicken and my partner went back at the owners that wasn't want he was asking for. Over the last couple of years we did request for the meals to be alted for example extra chilli, garlic and sometimes a change in the order which would have been done before the order went through to the kitchen. All you get from the owner I wish you would stop changing the orders.... personally when people place orders throughout a week upto £100.00, that's not the correct manner have with a long term customer. Food tonight disgusting never going back

Been using this Chinese takeaway for over 20 years and it has had its ups and downs during that time. Recently, we have been disappointed with the quality and consistency of the food. Our last order was completely wrong for three of the four dishes and the chow mein was inedible. We were also overcharged for this order. When we complained about the food and queried the over-charge, we felt - as loyal weekly customers for such a long time - we were treated dismissively and our concerns were left unaddressed.

We've been going to this takeaway since we moved to the area in 2008 and it's amazing! Lovely staff and food has never disappointed us. We've tried lots on the menu and everything is delicious. Would recommend it to anyone in the area :)

Local Chinese takeaway, has a reasonable menu and delivery or pick up are fairly quick. Friendly staff. When I last had the honey ribs I was a bit disappointed as it was mainly fat and grizzle not meat and bone.

We love the food here. Very tasty and well presented. The staff are friendly and will alter the menu if you want something slightly different. They are also careful about food allergies, taking time to check each dish is safe for me. Slightly more money for a better meal. Well worth it.

Simply the best Chinese takeaway around here. Not open on a Tuesday though. Fast friendly service from a long established shop.

This is a very busy Chinese restaurant that serves good food, however the service is rushed and lacks the great customer service factor. Also thought the price was a bit high.

Always enjoy the food from here. The only downside is they are so busy that you are lucky if you can get through on the phone and if you turn up without ordering you may have to wait a while. Always worth it though.

We ordered a take away which was really expensive and not very tasty. We ordered chicken in Oyster sauce and they gave us chop suey. The prawn crackers didn't taste like they'd been freshly fried. The crispy chicken was ok.

Efficient ordering, prompt delivery and nice food. Bit on the expensive side tho. Will def use again

Really didn't enjoy anything about this take out. Have had much better Chinese food from other local take aways. Best thing I can say is that they were quick with the delivery!

I live in Ash and use this take away frequently. The lady who takes the orders is polite and lovely and the food is always hot and very tasty. I highly recommend Happy Garden!

We have twice ordered vegetarian meals and been given meat! As a family of 5 it is an expensive way to fill the rubbish bin and Happy Garden do not care.

I regulary order from this takeaway and have tried others in the area and none come close the food is always spot on not greasy or oily like other chinese places they have a great selection of different dishes and is always hot though sometimes it can take a while for delivery if they are busy but I really would rather wait as its so worth it!!

We have been using Happy Garden Chinese takeaway for over 10 years. We have always been very welcomed by the friendly staff. Food is freshly made for you and, after a short wait, comes out piping hot. Excellent food and I highly recommend for a lovely takeaway.

Had take away from here for 40 years ,And enjoyed every single one of them,I travel the world and always miss Friday night take away from 'Toms' Happy Garden,Always so fresh and hot Thank you all at Happy garden for my Friday delight!!

Waited over 1hr 30min rang them up and my food wasn't even out for delivery yet im sorry but that's just ridiculous lost my custom and will be having my friends and family boycot it sort your service out.

Good quality Chinese food and very tasty indeed. Portion sizes are generous and all the food was hot and delicious. Would recommend for a takeaway.

Tonight I had a chicken satay dish and it was pretty good. Wasn't to spicy but had plenty of flavour Probably the best Chinese in the area and no msg

We've used this Chinese dozens of times over the years and have been more than happy. As a Christmas ritual we always have a takeaway on Christmas Eve and last Christmas we did the same. Unfortunately from a family of 5, 4 of us had a meal that included rice and we were all illl on Christmas Day, completely ruining it. The one family member who didn't have rice was ok. Looking on google it seems that cooking and storing rice can cause issues. I'm not saying this meal caused us to be ill but we will never be ordering from here again on Christmas Eve when they are so busy and may have issues storing cooked rice. We've had takeaways from here since and they have been fine but we won't be ordering on Christmas Eve again.

Been coming here twice a week for six months. I ordered food for delivery, it took an hour to get here. Everything was like warm, the chips were hard and the noodles slimy. When I called up all they said was sorry, it can't be cold. That's £25 of food in the bin. She told me I could have 10% off next time. Sorry but I'm not spending my money in a place where they have such rubbish service, especially to a loyal customer. By the way, ignore the other reviews saying it's the best by far. The fact is the rest nearby are so filthy with such dodgy food they make this places bland food look good; otherwise I would never have went there.

What a find! After so many terrible chinese takeways recently, I have finally found one that doesn't stick my lips together with MSG! Gorgeous and SO friendly!

Visited some friends yesterday and decided on a Chinese, ordered over the phone and then came to collect.I'm vegetarian and ordered a meal, no issues raised when order was called through...Brought the food home, chips not good and then the icing on the cake, instead of my vegetarian meal, I was given chicken! which I hate eaten a mouthful of!! rang them to complain the stated they don't do the meal I asked for so they thought they'd just substitute it for chicken!! they did not seem to understand how annoying and upsetting this was!!will never return.

Its expensive, but it's the best Chinese food in the local area by a long way. The delivery is normally quite quick outside of the really busy times.

We use this take away at least once a month, the staff are very friendly, the delivery is always prompt and the food is outstanding at a reasonable price and huge portion sizes, could not recommend this establishment enough!

Not only is this Chinese the closest, it's also the best! Always ready in 10 minutes for collection with the best tasting Chinese food around and as a fussy eater, this is perfect! They're always happy to make my beef chow mein with no vegetables and beef in black bean sauce with no vegetables! They also have amazing service and lovely manners, this will be the only Chinese I use for a long time!

We have been happy with this Chinese until tonight!! After waiting 1hour 40mins for delivery! Was told 1hour 20mins so wasn't really surprised! Most of it was luke warm! Then after phoning to mention this we had a call back to say we were wrong and it couldn't of been warm! Customer service should be something they need to look at! Won't be using again and will be quite disappointed as we're very happy with this take away!

This has been our 'local' Chinese for the last few years, and we've never considered going anywhere else!The food is delicious, always hot and normally ready when they say it will be! Staff are friendly, helpful and honest; they've never got our order wrong once in a the times we've used them!I'll continue using them, and recommending them to anyone in the area! There is often quite a long weight for delivery, so place your order in plenty of time if you are unable to collect; the staff are very honest at explaining the delivery times however.

The food is good, it is our regular Chinese take away. They get the orders right, even begun to remember our regular order & happy to make substitutions on set meals. Only real niggle is often takes around 45 minutes to have it delivered.
