Great food. Pricey starters but you don't need them. Mains are huge.

The pork ribs and garlic mushrooms are tops 😋 nice friendly staff all round a great experience

We went out for a meal on a Wednesday night to Roadhouse. We wasn't sure what to expect before we went but was made to feel welcome from the moment we stepped through the door. Our server (sorry I forget his name) was polite, prompt and friendly. He checked in with us on a number of occasions to ensure everything was OK and gave us enough time to decide on food and drinks. The prices were right for the quality and amount of food. We were told the pork ribs were not available so we ordered the Tacos, 5 Southern Fried Chicken Wings and the Loaded fries sharer with Beef Brisket and Garlic prawns. The Beef Brisket, I was told, is smoked on site and was absolutely delicious on the Loaded fries. The Garlic Prawns were big and juicy. I could have eaten the Loaded fries on their own. The Tacos were soft shell and my partner really enjoyed them. The Southern Fried Chicken Wings' flavours were immense, just to my liking. The accompanying sauces were nice as well. The atmosphere had a great authentic bar feel with lots of memorabilia and the place was clean. Definitively a 10/10 experience and I would highly recommend anyone to go. We are 100% going back to try the ribs.

Came here yesterday for mine and my partners anniversary, food was absolutely gorgeous, we both had pizza with southern fried chicken and brisket and shared some garlic fries. Them fries have changed our lives 😂 very lovely place with lovely staff members. Would deffo return again

Absolutely awful brisket rock hard, chicken wings deep fried in dirty oil tasted burnt, loaded fried the cheese wasn’t melted and the king prawns still had the shell on them and they were barely warm.

Me & my husband came for a cheeky date night, was a wednesday evening, had a few cocktails to start, went down so nice really refreshing 😊 i love the idea of the popcorn was a nice touch .. our food was so nice didnt get a picture as we was just enjoying the moment ... big thank you chef u did good ... Overall experience couldn't fault it We will be back again 🤟🖤

Visited on 28/02/24 in the evening , waiter we had was absolutely lovely! Was going around every table making sure everything was perfect, genuinely deserves a pay rise!!

Recently visited with my partner for lunch, amazing deal £8 for a gorgeous bbq sub with nachos and slaw 👌👌 unreal. Service was quick. Choc cake is banging Will definitely be going again

Brisket was awful, cold , hard and salty. They also add on 20% service charge, which you can ask for it to be removed. Service not great we won't be going back.

We were seated at 1600, 2 adults one child. Took 90 mins for food to arrive. Not really good enough considering that there was only 2 tables ahead of us. I thought the food was good but a bit overly priced.

I can't rate any higher as didn't get to even go in. We had this booked for our staff Christmas meal we tried ringing to make adjustments and no one answered despite numerous tries. Also when we arrived on the night we discovered it was closed. No communication nothing from anybody at all from the venue to say they were going to be closed and not be able to accommodate our booking it's disgraceful when we had booked and even paid a deposit. If we had been told we could of made other arrangements.

Very disappointing - we reserved a table for this evening online, arrived to the Roadhouse to be greeted by a note on the door to say due to a burst pipe they are closed.. frustrating to have travelled across town and not to have been contacted prior that they could no longer accommodate us. Also frustrating that a table of people inside who assumably were staff chose to ignore us at the door and not bother to speak to us.

Was here on Thursday 30th with my girlfriend. The food was top tier and the staff were amazing. To top it off the atmosphere was amazing and the music being played by the DJ’s was incredible.

One of my visiting friends had the chips with brisket and chicken strips. It was so good that he ordered a second round but that second round was so salty that it could have given the Dead Sea a run for its money. I had the tacos; I was able to customise them and these were absolutely delicious. Music was a bit too loud for my liking since I had to shout to my friend to have a conversation. Overall it's a nice, neat place just for the two points I stated above.

I recently visited Roadhouse as a group of 8 family, arriving around midday without a reservation. We were immediately welcomed and seated, a testament to their efficient service. The place had a great vibe — relaxed, clean, and just the right kind of atmosphere for a laid-back meal. The staff were top-notch, ensuring our drinks were on the table in no time. We ordered a variety of meals and platters, each one served promptly and looking great. The food was genuinely top-quality, packed with authentic flavors that hit the spot perfectly. Everyone in our group was thoroughly impressed. The standout aspect was how satisfied we all felt after the meal. Roadhouse did an excellent job in all respects. I highly recommend this place and am definitely planning a return visit. Their combination of solid service, a great atmosphere, and hearty, flavorful food makes it a go-to spot.

My Mrs told me we were going here tonight. Not what I was expecting to be honest but everything was spot on and we’ll be back. Cheers guys 👌🏻

great place to hang with your friends to grab a beer and a bite to eat

One of the best restaurants in the city! You will not be disappointed. Went for my birthday meal and everything was amazing, staff were fabulous and friendly. The portions were so generous and we even got left overs

This is the BEST PLACE TO EAT IN HULL the food is incredible, the service top notch, the cocktails amazing and the overall vibe is one where you can chill all night. Will be coming here at least once a month.

Loved everything about this place. The American vibe, the music, the food. We came with our daughter at the weekend and it was just what we was after. Highly recommend!

It was our first time dining here , The staff where lovely couldn’t fault them at all ! my burger was amazing , husband had a steak which was a little cold in the middle but he didn’t mind , my only critique would be that it was soooo cold in there , I couldn’t feel my toes by the time we left .

The amazing food always causes my partner and I to make a detour when we are near Newland Avenue. Rachel served us today, she is always welcoming, full of smiles and nothing is ever too much trouble. The other staff have the same traits as Rachel and do Roadhouse proud in representing them. Can't wait to return again. The music is also nice and relaxing. Until next time Roadhouse! Xx

Booked a table for me and my other half at half 5 but was half an hour early and got our table straightvaway. Very cosy in the booth near the window. Can't go wrong for 2 for £12 cocktails the same. We ordered the Ultimate Meat Platter for us both to share, was spot on but have to say the chips were cold 😒 The lady with the long blonde hair and the bar lad was lovely and brought our food and drink over to us. They also had live music by a guy who played the guitar, who was also very entertaining 👏🏻 😀 We will definitely will return. Thankyou for a lovely evening x

Me and my boyfriend went out for our first meal since moving. The atmosphere was amazing and really captured the American feeling that the restaurant thrives off of. The workers were incredibly kind and super laid back (in a good way), it didn’t feel overly formal which some people can find to be a bit overwhelming. The food itself was lovely and was out in a timely manner, the cocktail I had ordered was delicious too. The only downsides I’d have to say is the portion sizes of the sides for the price that you’re paying, and that the service charge isn’t disclosed prior to paying the bill (and if it was disclosed this wasn’t very clear) We had a lovely date night, and we hope to come back

We were early but staff member was really nice- showed us a menu -was very welcoming so we came back- had a drink then ordered burgers and sides- came well presented and tasted delicious-lovely atmosphere-good music and will definitely be back- lots of choice on the menu !

Me and the Mrs went for a meal on a Tuesday night, I went for a 16oz steak and the Mrs got a burger and we shared the loaded fries with pulled pork and brisket. The food was outstanding probably one of the best meal we've eaten out together, and I've eaten at some high end restaurants with work. Anyways the Mrs loved her food which in its self is impressive as she's extremely picky. We will definitely be back and bringing family along. My only criticism and this is me being picky the live entertainment was a bit loud couldn't hear ourselves talking at points but other than that extremely happy with the full experience.

Tom was an absolute pleasure at the freshers fair, couldn't have given any more reassurance about my difficult move to university, p.s the shots helped, one bit of constructive criticism the blonde lady needs to smile more

Chef does amazing fried poached eggs

The food is excellent and the portions are huge!! My only downside was the Texas brisket was very dry, it needs a sauce on the side.

Smashing smokehouse, great steak and cocktials

Had tea here last night I had frickles and pulled pork for main and it was bloody gorgeous plenty of pulled pull pork, fries cooked and seasoned to perfection my misses had burns ends which was great too and for her main she got the half rack of ribs which the meat just slid off the bone. I definitely want to go bk and try the hot dog plus the brunch menu 😋..... went the following morning and had chicken bacon and waffles Awwww absolutely spot on next try is the hot dog. Been back for the hot dog gorgeous smokey flavour thought I'd have sweet spud fries this time they are done really well to a nice crisp how they should be 😁

Disappointing Not really comparable to food we've enjoyed in the southern US in flavour, texture or portion size. Rather haphazard service & playlist was very much Arctic Monkeys.

We visited Roadhouse on Tuesday night, and was pleasantly surprised. We where met by welcoming staff who showed us to our table, they where attentive and had our drinks order quickly followed by our food. We opted for a steak with a blue cheese topper and a ceaser salad. Both where excellent. Well presented, and lots of flavour. Please try!

I've never been to a bar with such a friendly atmosphere and such amazing drinks. The owner is such an amazing mixologist and a very friendly man. Would recommend to anyone who wants a fantastic night on newland avenue

Spent an evening in Hangout Bar on Saturday night and had a blast. The food was amazing. We selected four small plates to share between 2 of us with a few side dishes. They were presented beautifully and was extremely delicious and it was hard to choose a favourite. The dishes were: Korean Fried Chicken, Mexican Prawns, Bao Buns and Duck Bon Bons with sides of Halloumi Fries, Onion Rings and Cheese dipping sauce. The cocktail menu was extensive with a great selection to choose from, personal favourite was the Kenucky Buck. All the staff were friendly and they had live music from a fantastic musician, LuKu. Special mention to the Chef, Rich who delivered with his fantastic food.

My son and I went to meet friends here & we all really enjoyed our food, the children especially loved the warm homemade brownies! Slightly disappointed at first as the menu was completely different to what I found online but what we ordered was delicious & we would definitely go again.

Went for lunch with a Friend and we weren’t disappointed, the food was amazing. I had a burger with a cheese sauce and fries and ordered a small dish of king prawns. The burger was cooked to perfection and wasn’t over or under garnished with salad. The cheese sauce was presented separately and was sized perfectly for dipping into or using to pour over. The side salad was in a nice dish and didn’t consist mostly of leaves but was mostly comprised of various vegetables. The fries were nice and crispy and very plentiful. The king prawns were quite simply amazing, slightly spicy and served with a small salad garnish and guacamole. Utterly delicious. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. My only regret is that I couldn’t sample the cocktails on offer at the bar as I was driving but, I plan on going back in the near future.

Food was exceptional as was the service. Was out with work and ordered all of the small plates so we could pick and was not disappointed. Only photo was of my cocktail as when food came it smelt so good we all tucked in. Definitely recommend trying this place you will not be disappointed

Visited here on a very quiet Friday afternoon. In fact, we were the only ones in there. Staff were still very attentive and the food and cocktails were well worth the money. Really wish we could have stayed around for the piano session this evening. I'm sure the atomsphio will have been amazing

Didn't try any food this time but the drinks selection is amazing and the bar staff know their stuff if you have any queries, tried one of their hang out special cocktails and it was divine, would definitely go again.

One of the best bars down Newland Av. We had some amazing food last night. All the staff are really friendly. Even the chef came through to ask how our food was. Well worth popping in and staying the night.

Had a brilliant night here. You get to watch your cocktails being made from fresh. The drinks are tasty reasonably priced for what you get. Was hard to pick a favourite from what we had. Will be back again. :)

Great cocktail bar with a chilled out atmosphere and really friendly staff and the vodka martinis are fantastic .

Was there with a friend for the first time today, food and drinks were great and staff was super friendly, will go again for sure.

Excellent friendly and professional table service. Gorgeous cocktails really enjoyed the pink elephant. If u like vodka and pink grapefruit i would highly recommend. Also house recipe bubblegum shots best shots I've ever had. Had chicken burger was really tasty. 1st time I've been out since lockdown really enjoyable experience. Staff are taking every precaution regarding covid measures.

All the appropriate safety measures were in place and the staff were amazing. The playlist that day was absolutely banging too. The food was great and having safety measures didn't detract from the atmosphere. Would definitely go again!

Food was nice, especially the melted bowl of cheese, menu is a little mixed up as some of the loaded fries don't come with fries. Meals came with missing items which was rectified by the friendly staff. Will go again 👍

Visited hangout a few times since lockdown ended, and I can honestly say I've been blown away by the service, the staff and the general atmosphere of the place. There has always been a warm welcome when I enter the door. The drinks are reasonably priced and the attention to detail on the cocktails is sublime. 10/10 I would and have recommended this place to friends and family.

Great place to be to relax and have a meal

I was passing Hang Out on a Sunday lunchtime and thought I’d have a beer and some food sat outside.There were only two people sat inside and the venue was dead.I was informed I needed to book a table!!!....I could only do this by downloading their app...quite difficult when you have no mobile phone with you!!...I moved on a couple of bars and walked in and was served straight away.Businesses need to be more proactive even taking COVID-19 into account.The experience has put me off going back to Hang Out with my partner.I’m not sure income should be turned away with such short sighted policies!!!

Excellent cocktails and very educated/motivated staff. The detail that goes into many of the cocktails is excellent. I highly reccomend the smoked old fashioned!

Went down Newland Ave today looking for food. We havent tried Hang Out Bar before so we thought we would give it a go. Really relaxed and chilled venue. The theme is chilled out vintage / retro style. personally I really liked the vibe. The staff were really polite, talkative and the service was excellent. The food arrived we got shredded stake, with peppers, stilton cheese over a bed of fries.. Oh my just my type of food .. It really was nice. My wife enjoyed it too. We had a beer and would of stayed longer but I was driving so we chilled as long as we could.. We will be returning as I have heard they have awesome karoake nights with an awesome vibe. So we will be doing this one night too. A+ ..
