Got a takeaway for 5 of us. All cooked fresh and was still lovely and hot by the time I got home. Lovely fish and chips and curry sauce.

Nice chippy! Freshly cooked food. Good portion sizes and pleasant service from the staff. Plus they have delivery options

First time I tried it and was not disappointed, the regular haddock was quite big,glad I did not go for large,chips were nice.Friendly servi e.Will use them again

Great little fish shop and very reasonably priced. Cod was really chunky and beautifully cooked, chicken nuggets were more like goujons and were wolfed down, chips were perfectly cooked. Everything was cooked fresh to order and staff were polite and friendly. Note: they are cash only.

we ordered after a busy day being out and about as we fancied a quick bite but unfortunately we were left very disappointed. we had a chicken burger, battered sausage x2 and a children's meal. All was so bland and stale. Its a real shame as we live a minute down the road, but we won't be back as it was a complete waste of money. I don't understand how you can make chips have no flavour at all, but here we are. The menu and quality of food needs vastly increasing.

Cash Only! Reason they say is because bad signal and not always strong enough for paying by card 🤣Soggy batter and some of the chips weren’t cooked right through! Although food passable i now drive to Ashford only 3 further miles

Crispy batter, perfectly cooked cod and more than ample portion of chips, served with a smile. Noted the premises looked spotless.

Last time I ordered scampi it was burnt pieces of batter. I went back there today and told them about my last dinner and asked if the scampi could be cooked better. The answer “it’s the same as before” !! I chose cod instead my husband had pie - both were very cold when got them. Chips were luke warm and very few of them. Salt and vinegar had already been put on without our say so - we will not waste our money again so in future we’ll go else where (New Romney) is the best option

One of the best Fish and Chip shops around, have a had a number of meals from here always freshly cooked and the portions are huge. Would definitely recommend it to anyone

Didn’t like the meal in a bag why couldn’t u wrap or put in a box trying to eat sausage and chips out of a bag is just irritating, the chips went soggy from sweating out in the bag I didn’t get asked if I wanted salt and vinegar when I went to asked it was already pre packed up cooked bagged up and ready to go half hour before closing time so that was annoying mushy peas wasn’t even hot let alone warm the batter was good on the sausage tho but I wouldn’t return

First time to try fish and chips from here. Verygood fish and chips,large portions, not at all greasy. Including a piece of lemon with the fish is a mice touch. Staffvery plrasant.

Food was ok, big family order but spoiled by lack of card acceptance (ridiculous that in 2022 any businesses feel it is ok not to accept cards - probably to avoid tax), was told to go to shop next door and pay £1.99 to get cash out. If we were not so hungry we would have just gone elsewhere. Shame as food was good.

We live in the village so have ordered from here a few times. Each order can be very hit and miss, the chips never taste fresh and are actually quite dry and tasteless. The sausages could be much better quality and the fish doesn't taste fresh, there could also be more fish to equal out the batter.

Would have given zero stars if possible!! Twice now have visited this establishment and come away with nothing on both occasions. DEFINITELY WON'T BE RETURNING FOR A 3RD VISIT....First visit, out of a half dozen or so items we wanted, at least four were unavailable so didn't bother and walked out. Then last night (25th Sept) after a 3 hour 250 mile drive, didn't fancy cooking when we got home so decided on a fish & chip supper. Again, didn't have what we wanted so begrudingly chose something else, then went to pay and was told 'no card payments - cash only. ' I hadn't enough cash in my wallet so told them forget it and walked out. Went 5 miles up the road to Marino's. What a difference. Got exactly what we wanted, all freshly cooked, good quality. Service with a smile. Hamstreet Chippy take note - this is how to run a fish & chip shop!!

Had family over for the evening, we had quite a big order but everyone really enjoyed it. We have take away from here regularly and it’s always lovely. We did try to order by phone first but they did not answer……….probably busy serving as it can be busy. I am sure they will come back again for another fish and chip supper evening!

this is the second time of collecting from Hamstreet fish and chip shop it was really nice we had the monday special for 4.95 spicy chicken drumsticks chunky chiken in batter cheesey fingers chips brown sauce and mayo and a large roll it was lovley not greasy at all piping hot excellent service the fish and chips we had the 2 weeks before were excellent its a bit of the beaten track but well worth fining it we will be back and we reccomend them

After a drive of 15 minuets and back again they had forgotten to put my sons burger in so drove all the back again and then home and found out my sausage was also missing which I did not go back for, by then my dinner was already ruined but they did give me a free bag of chips that I did not need and now have a food bin full of them. Will not be returning

Ordered the regular cod and chips x 2 , the batter was tough and it was hard to find any actual cod inside. The whole meal was barely warm and a total waste of money! Will not be returning.

During quarantine thought we would give them a go. Neighbour went for us after pre ordering. Chips OK. Couldn't differentiate between normal and large size fish. Difficulty finding fish content which was tasteless and tough.

Great fish and chips, cooked to order, always fresh and hot, staff always friendly and accommodating if you wish a slightly different order.

Helpful and friendly staff. Food always good as are portion sizes. Alittle more than I would normally pay BUT its local with No travelling. I dont begrudge paying a little more.

Not the very best in the area but often nice fish and good service. Worth a try. Chexk opening times carefully.

Chips were horrific. Even my dog couldn’t eat them - such a shame because has the potential as it’s the only chippy in hamstreet. Everything was pretty much over cooked. Only thing we liked was the sausage. And it wasn’t even busy. Won’t be returning.

A basic no frills fish and chip shop. Friendly service and a decent sausage and chips. Tucked behind the mcolls in the high street so not to easy to find.

My last 2 visits have been very disappointing. Chips are obviously reheated very dry and crispy some were even burnt. The batter on my fish was very pale and soggy. I would expect better for £6.30. I ran a fish and chip shop for 16 years and I would have been ashamed to serve my meal to a customer. The staff are to busy singing.

Two persons working there. The cook was shouting and singing so loud that the till person couldn't hear my order. Didn't help that I'd waited 10 minutes before she looked up to take my order. To add insult to injury my order was promptly put to the back of the queue while she made up orders submitted much later than mine despite it appearing on the warmer some time before. Other orders were incorrect and the whole place gave the impression of a Fawlty Towers type farce. The chippy is at the rear of a small supermarket with narrow access to an unlit pot holed gravel car park. Not much fun for strangers in the dark nights. Not ideal and the staff require training in customer relations. It is such a pity as the fish and chips were excellent but the service was appalling. Would not go back.

Decided I’m didn’t want to cook so went down to Hamstreet Fish & Chips. Ordered Huss & chips & Sausage & chips. Have to say the portions are large but more important the food is well cooked & tasty. Will visit again.

The quality of the fish and chips we purchased on Friday evening (03/11/17) was exceptional. So pleased we have this addition to our village and with food like this and excellent service it will be a great success.

Very nice and reasonably priced fish and chip shop! Just what hamstreet needed. Very clean and a good variety on the menu.

The fish is cooked fresh when you order and tasted lovely. We had a both cod and haddock and they were lovely. The large portions of chips were really big and easily feeds two. The kids cod bites meal was massive and really well priced. Everyone enjoyed the chippy tea. The chippy itself looks like a nightclub inside it's the coolest chippy we have ever been to!

Our second visit and what a fantastic hidden gem !!! Its in the Carpark behind the local McColl's Supermarket.Not been open long but wow best fish and chips I've had in a log time and at a sensible price and top quality. I'm not a big chip eater so a standard portion is too big so we ordered 2 x cod and 1 x chips and a can of drink, they split the chips between the two for us and placed in a cardboard box. Customer service at it best its the first chip shop to have offered this, I know it may seem small but very much appreciated. there is a park just down the road where we stopped and ate it on a lovely summers Night. PRICLESS
