Visited for lunch and managed to get a table for 2 after just walking in. Great views of the coast line even if it was a little overcast. It was my first time eating at the pub, and I was not disappointed. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. My mum (93) visits at least once a month and is well looked after. I opted for the belly pork which was most enjoyable and Mum had the Lamb chops. I would definitely recommend a visit, but I would say book a table as it was pretty busy at lunchtime.

Don't know what happened but my rating for this place has gone down hill!!. Constant smell of people smoking from outside of the door from the moment we walked in until we left. That alone is enough to be put off. Only offer the more expensive dishes in the evening, so if you only wanted something like a jacket potato, that wasn't available ... salad tasted musty and gritty, portion small.

I was attending a wake and the place was packed, they coped extremely well with the numbers, this was David's favourite place.

Relaxed, unpretentious friendly place. Great views of the sea. I had delicious white bait (so much better than the standard stuff) and a delicious smoked mackerel - perfect smoking, perfect cut.

We never got to try the food! As we arrived at 2pm, got the menus but were not made aware that they stopped serving at 2:30 pm there were 7 of us! By the time we made up our minds we were informed that there was no more service.

We required somewhere we could meet as family was down from London and my parents used this venue before. We need to take a dog and these guys are dog friendly so that ticked a big box for sure. Outstanding service and food.

Popped in for a quick toilet break before travelling home. Thanks guys 😊 your pub had a lovely vibe. Nice clean toilets too. And an Amazing view of the sunset over the beach! Would definitely go back here for some food and drinks. Next beach trip planned 😁

Not the smartest of pubs could do with a makeover , staff were polite and friendly but seemed a little young not quite on the ball, food was just mediocre.

Delicious home made English food with very fresh ingredients. Very friendly staff and a very wide variety to choose. Highly recommended

Very friendly atmosphere. Only had some complimentary chips and roast potatoes as part of a charity pub quiz, but they were really very nice, also an unexpected surprise.

A nice cute pub on the corner of the pier area, with friendly staff. It was quiet inside given the beautiful weather outside but the cold beer was welcomed. Great views out over the water. We didn’t get to try the food, but maybe we will return to try this one day. We believe it is a Shepherd Neame pub although when paying by debit card it said “Hampton by Hilton” which confused us with any link to the Hilton hotel group.

We have Sunday Lunch almost every week at The Hampton Inn. The home-cooked roasts are brilliant: good size portions, plenty of veg, more if you want it. Good range of puds, lovely atmosphere, what more could you want?! Carol.

Yet again a super dining experience. We had a day out at the coast and went to the Hampton Inn for lunch. Everything about it it was excellent. The food was freshly cooked, piping hot from a good menu with lots of specials of the day. We were so very well looked after by Morgan, Elise and Darrell. They delivered friendly helpful and efficient customer service, it was very refreshing to get such good service. I can highly recommend a visit here if you fancy a pub lunch. Parking is easy by the way. Thanks again to all involved.

It was on my bucket list to have a drink here. The place is always bubbling and hard to find an empty seat. Today we were lucky. We had gin and lemonade. They were generous with the fruit in it. What a wonderful experience enjoying a drink in the sunshine here while looking at the sea. The inside area is really small. Pre booking for groups are recommended and also worth to call if they aren't fully booked. We only had drink, can't say anything about the food. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

We have been to the Hampton many times, and have never had a bad meal. To be honest, our meals have been exceptional. I personally have fish each time I go, and I've never, ever had fish cooked so well in any restaurant I've been to. They certainty have very talented chefs. Well done Hampton, we love coming here, always great meal and staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Lovely local pub, friendly service

Had family visiting from out of town so decided on Hampton Inn for lunch. Two of us had the fish and chips which was so disappointing as the batter was soggy and mushy. Upon mentioning this to our waitress, she commented, yes someone else said so too! That was it. End of conversation. We have had great meals here before so it was quite surprising how our complaint was dealt with.

Had the fish and chips but the fish was soggy. Staff didn’t seem surprised and said someone else had complained too. Otherwise a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.

I like this pub alot and appreciate they are very busy best book a table. However today we did not and unfortunately told they did not have any availability. This was about 2.30pm. However we sat had a drink and there were 2 x tables set and a 4 unpaid up. Kitchen stops and 3.30 and these tables never go used. Little sad could have been more flexible. Also only food was on board and no menu so choices limited.

Had a fantastic meal here ,lovely staff ,clean and will be back! Dave will speak to Shaun his discount lol . Parking is easy .

I had a lovely lunch with my daughter, both meals were lovely, very clean area. Service was very good, attentive without being pushy.

Nice pub at the pier. We had a beer and a wine and sat outside to look at the marvelous clouds. People inside were nice and helpful, they did a great job because it was very busy with people dining inside the pub .

The Hampton Inn was a delight. Having walked along the coast path from swalecliff and with no reservation for lunch we were met by smiling, cheerful staff who made us really welcome. The food was amazing. A great menu and about 10 'specials' on the board. The prices were very reasonable. It was the best meal my daughter and I had on our holiday. I would recommend a visit. I had skate wing with prawn and caper sauce and saute potatoes followed by 3 scoops of sorbet ice cream and a glass of Pino grigio. Great value and delicious Thank you.

I arranged a group meal for a work colleague's leaving do with Jemma who could not have been more helpful and efficient over email. Nothing was too much to ask, from sorting out pre-orders, allowing us to put decorations on the table, to accommodating our larger group number. The food and view was all excellent, everyone said they had a fab time and wanted to come back again outside of work! Judging by the full pub, empty plates and happy faces with lovely staff I cannot recommend this place enough!

Fantastic pub. Came across it by accident. Heard the music from outside and when in. Drinks were good prices. Fantastic staff. Music from the band Hudson was amazing. Great atmosphere 👌 definitely recommend this pub.. thanks for a great evening 😀

Despite the appalling weather this is a clearly a popular pub. There is no garden as such but the pub is dog friendly and the staff helpful. The place was packed with people having lunch as it was the Bank Holiday. The menu is quite extensive but I found my dish disappointing. It was advertised as Moroccan Nut Roast. This was NOT a nut roast. I didn't find a single nut in my dish and it certainly wasn't roasted. I would describe this as a mixture of rice, sultanas and spices placed on the plate in a mould. The vegetables were freshly prepared but my gravy was also a touch on the chilly side. I wish I had chosen something else from the vegetarian menu.

Followed by (gluten free) lemon meringue roulade... just ask about the range of GF options. Relaxing and friendly, overlooking the sea. We'll be back!

Couldn't rate on food as didn't have any. Lovely place to have a drink beside the sea.

Coming on a Saturday night we read the reviews that recommended booking, and we were glad we did, as the venue was packed. We were staying nearby so walked here, which enabled an extra couple of Shepherd Neame beers. A mixture of couples and large groups filled every table, a few well behaved dogs hid under them, keeping the team very busy. But they all responded in a very friendly way and, despite this being a first visit, felt very much like it was our local. The menu on line doesn’t do justice to the wide variety of items avaiable as listed on their specials board. We had three courses of superbly cooked food with decent sized portions, and were allowed to leave a nice gap to give us room for pudding. Overall a very enjoyable evening. There is plenty of car parking nearby, and if you need a taxi home they are happy to call for you. I would highly recommend a trip here…but don’t forget to book to be sure of a table.

Lovely friendly pub with amazing vegan menu, and sea views

What a little gem! Sunday roast was delicious and very reasonably priced for the portion sizes. We both opted for pork roasts, which came with a great selection of side vegetables that you help yourself to. Desserts were also extremely tempting... we both found a little extra room for those. 😂 The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. So warm and welcoming, and each gave exceptional service from bar service to the table service The pub itself is in a fantastic location and what a view!!! From the outside, you may not think it holds much inside, but don't judge a book by its cover!! Be sure to book ahead, as it was totally full when we arrived, and I could definitely see why. Will 100% be coming back!

We had such a great time on 7 Mile Beach…. And, I want to give a special shout out to Fanny at the front desk (she gave us amazing destinations for restaurants and other points of interest) and to Rocky for his help ( he made sure we got where we needed on time).. such a great trip!

This hostelry can get very busy so well worth booking. Food was excellent with some great specials on the chalk board. Staff were super friendly and attentive but not overpowering. If you're looking for proper pub grub this is well worth a visit if in the area.

The staff and manager were really good.The bar lady offered as a table so we wasn't near the wake.The food looked very nice bit we didn't eat.

We had an evening business/social meeting and we chose this pub as recommended and central for all of us. Difficult to fault anything. There were just as many specials on the board as on the main menu. Food, beer and service were excellent and probably best pub food I’ve had for a long time.

A lovely pub serving wholesome good fresh food

Have been here 3 times over the last couple of years. The only issue we have had is on all 3 occasions there has been a minor discrepancies in the bill. All of which were amicably sorted out.

The food exceeded all expectations. The pie was clearly homemade and to a high standard. The ju for the lamb shank was next level, thoroughly recommended.

I would 100% recommend this pub. Food was amazing, super clean and the views even on a cloudy December day were amazing!

Festive lunch with friends. Seriously the best pub Christmas lunch I've had. The Smoked salmon, prawn and crayfish cocktail for starters was lovely. Very generous portion for a starter. Beef for main with the best roast potatoes, yorkie and plenty of fresh, hot, vegetables. I had a cheese plate instead of a sweet dessert, which had 5 different cheeses and plenty of crackers. Ending with coffee and a mini mince pie. Such great value for money. A cosy, traditional pub with friendly and welcoming staff.

This was a great place to eat. The staff were very friendly, helpful and cheerful. The food was well worth the money with big portions and tasted great. The view was good too across the sea. I would definitely recommend this and will return next time I am in the area again.

This is a lovely pub to visit. My husband and I went for lunch and we were impressed with all aspects. We were made to feel very welcome immediately. The staff were friendly and helpful, the menu and special had a great variety of snacks, small and larger meals, and deserts. Prices are compatible with most places and are value for money. We had good food, good service and enjoyed the atmosphere. We will definitely visit again.

Really disappointed. Not allowed roast dinner outside so ordered a lamb shank. It came out with no lamb on it. It was just a bone with the bit of lamb had fallen off! I complained to the waiter who laughed and agreed. He took it away and when returned back with the same plate which was now cold. And said sorry the chef didn’t realise the lamb had fallen into the pan with the gravy and now there is extra. It certainly looked different so I took the plate. What the chef had actually done is just stuck teensy bit of lamb back on top of the bone and no extra. Absolute disgrace. 3 bites and that’s all I got. Will no return!

Good Food, friendly service, dog and child friendly. A great location, right by the seafront. Had a nice lunch then walked into Herne Bay. Then walked back and had drinks (tea, coffee, cider, coke and (for the kids) milk before setting off home.

Great food at fair prices served by lovely staff.

The dinner here was nice enough. My partner really loved their food. I found it rather OK for a pub. This is no gastro pub. The staff are friendly and the service good and it is right on the seafront, so nice views. All that is good but it wasn't 5 stars for me.

Went with a couple of friend, had booked a table, and just as well we did asctge place was packed, inside and out. Food was lovely, couldn't fault it. Staff were very attentive and friendly even in the extreme heat they was working in. Will definitely go back again.

Felt much at home! Staff couldn't do enough for us! We was gonna eat inside! But all the tables were reserved inside! So there was plenty of tables outside looking out to the sea! The weather was a bonus! As we were on a 3 nght break from London to whitstable! We ate 2 tasty ciabattas! I had a prawn & crayfish one that came with a fresh salad and some chips! My husband had the southern fried chicken one! They were delicious! Would highly recommend a visit to the Hampton Inn! We will defo be going back there for a visit in the near future! Amazing food & hospitality! Thanks.

We visited the Hampton Inn because it was close to where we were staying and the reviews were good. This turned out to be one of the best pub meals we have had in a very long time. I chose the lamb shank which was delicious and the sauce/gravy/jus was very flavoursome. My wife enjoyed her meal of liver and bacon which again was well presented and cooked to perfection. The desserts were also of a very high standard and reasonably priced. Thank you to the Hampton Inn for a fantastic meal.

This was so close to a 4 but I was stifled by personal preferences which brought it down. Clearly a very popular venue with most seating inside and outside taken up. Nice to see dogs welcomed. However I was initially struck by the ambient noise inside. That meant throughout our meal it was hard to speak and listen, (including interacting with the excellent staff). The excellent sea view was a bonus. I started with the halloumi fries with a salad garnish and chilli sauce. The salad was well dressed with a tasty sauce and gave everything expected. I followed with the jackfruit pie with chips and mixed veg. The pie was again very tasty but the pastry base was rock hard which offered a bit of a challenge. The chips were fine and the vegetables were varied and perfectly cooked and presented on a white hot dish. One negative here was the gravy was presented in a chipped boat which is, in my eyes, unacceptable. For pudding I had the apple crumble with custard. It was presented with a variety of berries on top which was an unexpected, and unnecessary surprise, in my opinion. As I was on the set menu, I really didn't need them. Overall a very pleasant meal, well presented and warranting a decent tip. I accept that you cannot turn the guest volume down but you can remove the chipped crockery. Thanks.

Wonderful family lunch for twelve. Booked in advance with small deposit. Lots of delicious options for gluten free, vegan and regular. Service was so efficient and friendly. This week I’ve been twice in one week with different friends. So collectively 10 people. Everyone admired their meal - the food was fantastic, fresh, decent portions and well presented. Lots of choice on the special board as well as the standard menu. This is a family & dog friendly pub

Just had an amazing lunch at the Hampton. Huge portions of wonderful food, fresh veg, liver and bacon, delicious. great friendly staff, very attentive. Good selection of sweets. Most enjoyable. Keep up the good work & thank you xx
