Have been to hampsons a few times, foods been good, not sure if they've got a new chef food tonight covered in salt ,risotto bland covered In cream and owner an idiot ,said he thought it was amazing and agree to only charge us for the replacement?? Who would charge for the.meal you didn't eat ?

We visited Hampsons today for the first time. 5 adults and 2 toddlers. What a disappointing experience! Food took over an hour to arrive and was extremely bland. I had to ask for someone to come and take our order as we had waited for so long. The toddlers drink arrived in a thin glass tumbler and the food arrived on huge porcelain plates. My partner went home to get their drinking cups and cutlery so they had something safe to use. The toddlers food portion was actually bigger than the adults. When we mentioned our disappointment, we were told that they were staff members off and numbers were down. The manager/owner assured us that no one could be as annoyed as he was... We love visiting independent businesses and supporting the local community, however this isn't an experience we wish to repeat.

Good food with excellent service, the place has a good vibe.

We booked ahead as we wanted to bring our dog. Our table was ready and waiting. Table service and a nice range of hot drinks, and alcoholic ones! We waited for Sunday lunch service to start at 1 and we were not disappointed. The beef option was particularly good, the gammon was a bit stingy on portion size, but it was all totally delicious. Very happy tummies. Strange starter options for a Sunday menu, so we only had 1 course and it was good value.

First time at Hampsons, went for the wine tasting evening and was really pleasantly surprised. Atmosphere was chilled and cosy and the service was really great. Lovely food and drink too. Would recommend...!

A super place with a great atmosphere and lovely food.

Wow wow WOW!! What an amazing treat for us, having enjoyed the best bottomless brunch with a group of friends, celebrating 50ths. So, first of all, the selection available is amazing. This is for both the food and drinks. Can personally say, I sampled most of available drinks, and all cocktails freshly made and delish! They even have 2 incredible mocktails. Secondly, the staff worked hard and catered for us all so efficiently and well, never having to wait long for our drinks to be refilled. The food arrived and certainly no complaints from any of us 9. Absolutely gorgeous, plentiful and all piping hot. Final verdict - an absolute hit!! All agreed it was an amazing experience and certainly worth every penny. Bobby dazzler!

Dined here for a roast dinner as a family after reading the glowing reviews. Very disappointed with the quality of the food. Veg was decent but beef was tough and fatty. Child portions were a decent size but way too small for an adult. service was good. would not dine here again or recommend.

Wow. Great service, great food and great prices. We were recommended to try here and it has a really nice decor, the tapas are a great price for the amount of food you receive.

Came across this place by accident yesterday. Glad we did. Had a couple of the tapas dishes which were all delicious. Staff were very attentive, atmosphere was chilled. Will certainly be back.

Friendly, helpful staff. Food all cooked fresh using the finest ingredients. The breakfast was served on warm plates and the best I have ever tasted. I'm no spring chicken either. Brilliant value, going again soon. I travel from Southport its that good.

Such a welcoming and cosy atmosphere with amazing staff who can’t do enough for you! Great food, drinks and service! Although I no longer live in the area, it’s always my first place to go each time I return! Can’t wait to go back!

Driving past it really stood out and looked like a nice place to have some lunch so we decided to give it a go. The decor and staff where lovely, but the food really let everything down. We ordered a large breakfast and veggie breakfast, and when they arrived the veggie breakfast was the same as the large one (not the waitresses fault she did ask for a veggie breakfast but the chef got it wrong). When the veggie breakfast arrived it was missing the avocado, but after sending it back once we couldn't be bothered sending it back again. The toast on both breakfasts was unlike any toast we'd seen before and was so brittle it just crumbled. It was also cold and impossible to spread any button on it without it crumbling. Both breakfasts were also cold (again didn't see the point in sending them back after already doing so once). This was really disappointing considering we were the only people in there having food so there wasn't really any excuse to get everything so wrong and be cold.

This place has a fantastic atmosphere, the way it is lit and the wonderful scenery. I always come here with my work friends and we always have a blast. The food is great and the drinks a amazing. I love this place 10/10

5 * food, atmosphere and service! This is my local and the staff are immensely welcoming and helpful. We often have our staff parties here and they cater to us all. I also have a GF friend and are so helpful when it come to allergens. I will go in for a coffee and delicious slice of cake or go and spend the night boozin and boogie-ing… p.s SPOT ON MUSIC 🎶

Had a large English breakfast, wasn't that large but filled a hole an was nice. Seems for of a bar that sells food than the other way round and smells like it too. Overall decent for a breakfast wish I had gone with the fish finger butty instead. Drinks were very expensive but if u have tea or coffee that's included with the breakfast. The breakfast itself was priced well. Street parking only and can be hard to find a space but we managed to get one on a side street just fine.

Food was very pretty but very great and not very warm. The brunch menu was limited when vital ingredients were missing and considering they qre inly 5 mins from sainsbury, I am nit sure why they could have just gone and got additional ingredients. Is a nice bar otherwise

Great value for money at £20 for three courses. Downside was all the food was piled up on top of the other and the meat was a tad flavourless. Service was good though and decor was interesting

Comimos y bebimos en Hampsons en el marco del programa "Comer fuera para ayudar". El restaurante estaba un poco indefinido. . . . . . . No estoy seguro si se trataba de un bar de vinos / cócteles, un bar de tapas o una cafetería. La mitad de los asientos están en taburetes altos, que no son muy cómodos. Es bastante ruidoso y los platos de tapas nos parecieron bastante insípidos en comparación con otro restaurante de tapas cercano. El vino Chardonnay era realmente encantador a los 21. No creo que regrese a menos que sea solo para tomar una copa si pasa, aunque cualquiera que beba solo puede sentarse afuera esta noche. ?Vivimos localmente, así que pensé que valía la pena intentarlo. Los mejillones y el jamón serrano estaban muy buenos, los pasteles de pescado y las croquetas de queso y jamón estaban muy sosos. Los langostinos necesitaban algo de chispa, como guindilla y lima. Vale la pena visitarlo, pero no tan bueno como esperábamos.

Un clima encantador para sentarse y una fantástica hospitalidad de Shannon. Los asados quedaron tan deliciosos como antes con tus 5 verduras. La salsa podría haber sido un poco más espesa. Las patatas asadas estaban perfectas, ligeramente quemadas para la otra mitad. Deliciosa tarta de manzana hecha en casa por el chef con helado de vainilla.

La comida era excelente, como siempre, solo para desearles a los propietarios John y Jo lo mejor para el futuro y los verán cuando vuelvan a abrir cuando todo esto termine. También buenos deseos para los excelentes chefs y el personal que cuidan

Absolutely fantastic , food always delicious, Sunday roast a must. Management and Staff polite, friendly and attentive nothing to much trouble. We highly recommend Hampsons.

Most of the food was ok but staff were quite slow considering it was quiet

From the moment we approached John to help organise my good friends baby shower, we were met with nothing but helpful suggestions and easy planning.The night before the baby shower, there had been a flood in the restaurant, and John had it all sorted for our arrival at 11am, after working through the night to get it fixed.Shannon was our waitress and couldn't do enough for us. She was so helpful, and continually kept our glasses topped up, which was fabulous for 14 ladies. Shannon was so professional, friendly and nothing was too much for her. We were met wiht a beaming smile from her all day.The kitchen staff did an excellent job, the food was absolutely delicious. There was so much cake, which they foiled up and let us take home. All in all, I would 100% recommend this lovely, friendly bar for any event, throughout they were nothing but easy to deal with, friendly, professional and personal.Thank you to all the team for the most loveliest day ever!

Nice décor n atmosphere. Staff seem nice not much choice for draft beer but plenty of bottles to choose from.

Been here before for a beer and food and always had a great experience but went tonight for a cocktail and for £8 per cocktail i can only say don’t bother and stick to beer and wine because it was really poor and not worth the money, slow service and i get its xmas but it wasn’t busy, sat waiting for over 15 minutes for someone to take drinks order while staff chatted at the bar. To be fair i went up to the bar and ordered a drink but don’t say take a seat and someone will be over to you if they aren’t going to do it

One of the tastiest roast dinners I've ever had. Don't let the picture make it look like the portions are small, it's the angle and the fact the yorkshire pudding is so big that it hides the rest of the amazing food. Staff are really friendly and welcoming, atmosphere is cosy. Will be recommending this place to family and friends and definitely coming back to try more.

Excellent wine selection, lovely food and really knowledgable friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble and our server was attentive all evening without being intrusive or pushy. Even when we were the last ones in there! Really looked after us well, thank you!

Me and my friends popped into hampsons for a few drinks before hitting the town,what was supposed to be a few didnt happen, ended staying all night, we decided to have a variety of tapas which was absolutely delicious, good variety of wines and beer, staff were very polite and very knowlegable about menu, music playing in back ground was not loud it was just right, very happy atmosphere and thats why we gave town a miss, will definately recommend hampsons to everyone and already looking forward to my next visit

Went for lunch Sunday disappointed that the only thing available was a roast dinner even more disappointing little or no taste. Eaten several times before food was good however these roast dinner's looked or tasted nothing like what have been served on previous occasions very bland hard potatoes and tasteless veg. To make matters worse went to sit at an empty table and was told that it was reserved . That was of till a couple came in and asked was there a table available as they had not booked the waitress then proceeded to sit them at the table we had been refused. find her very dismissive . I have to say the score I have given is for this visit

Mi esposa y yo fuimos un lunes por la noche alrededor de las 8 pm. Mientras estaba tranquilo con solo unos pocos comensales, nos llevaron de manera eficiente a una mesa. La elección es muy buena, no demasiado para confundir.La comida era pequeños platos (tapas) y realmente muy deliciosa. El servicio fue excelente, con especial mención a la atenta y encantadora Lucy.Realmente disfrutamos la comida, el servicio, la ubicación, la cerveza y el servicio eficiente y encantador. Con mucho gusto volveremos, este lugar es una pequeña joya. . . .

Fui aquí para el brunch de hoy.Las chicas que servían no tenían ni idea.Huevo escalfado duro como la roca y el Halloumi frito sabe a cocido en aceite viejo.Luego pedimos un pedazo de pastel que se exhibió en el mostrador. Sí, dijo la camarera y tomó el pastel en la parte de atrás. . . . . 15 minutos después le pregunté sobre el pastel y ella dijo: ‘el chef está ocupado cocinando comida, entonces obtendrás tu pastel.¿Tienes pastel y estaba realmente delicioso?¿Confundido? y no volveremos
