Superb olde skool cafe. Cracking breakfast served with a smile. Very clean and tidy. Nice chitchat with other diners. Could do with taking cards, though.

I have enjoyed coming here before and the welcome was very good. I decided to have the English breakfast with toast and tea and a bottle of water. £6.95 . As I sat enjoying my breakfast it started to get busy. To watch the a professional at work remembering all the orders with out writing it down. A few minutes later everyone got the correct roll and their teas and coffees. Well done and thank you.

Amazing! The meat and potato pie was savory and the pastry flaky. The chips are made in the Cafe and are cooked perfectly! Will definitely make it a "must visit" when we come over from Canada.

Went in whilst visiting Southport. The menu was ridiculously expensive and the place was a right sty. We considered not ordering food but had been out for a while and fancied a quick bite. We asked if they could do a sausage sandwich which we were told yes we asked if we could have it between 3 pieces of bread to which we were told a hard ‘No’ we asked if we could order 2 sandwiches and assemble it ourselves and were again told no. I don’t know why we couldn’t do that but the attitude the man had was ridiculous can’t say as the staff were sociable at all and very rude. All other customers were old so probably couldn’t here the horrible remarks the man working here makes whilst serving them.

I visited Andy's Snack Bar a few times whilst on holiday with my little one last week, always had service with a smile, tasty food, and perfect location in correspondence to where we were staying. If I ever go back to Southport, I'd definitely visit again

Andy's Cafe the full English breakfast beans,bacon,sausage, egg,he could do better with fried black pudding,mushrooms,and fried Tomato, I think it will do a lot better for your money the toast is plenty and coffee is very good.from Adrian

We recommend this cafe to everyone. Staff are great, food cooked to order so fabulous, pies are famous as well as delicious. Go and have breakfast or lunch or even one of their custards with a tea or coffee - you won't be disappointed!!!

We know it was 1pm, but asked for 2 breakfasts(it was what we fancied). Paid for them, man who was cooking was overheard saying "Breakfasts! 1pm!" + shook his head twice!!!! But it would have been ok to have bacon,sausage, egg+chips or beans on toast. But we didn't want CHIPS! WHATS THE DIFFERENCE - SAME FOOD??? Need to stipulate you can't have breakfast after a certain time, but you can have ALL the same food, just don't call it BREAKFAST!!! Three staff - no facemasks.

My family all love Andys as the pies and pastries are absolutely delicious! I even bought a selection of their favourites from Andys for my parents at Christmas, Craig at Andys was so helpful and made the gift just perfect, thanks Craig. If you haven't tried Andys yet, make it a new year resolution to go soon and support a local gem in Southport's crown! The highest recommendation 😀

Traditional, family run cafe which has been a favourite with locals and visitors "in the know" for years. Never lets you down....and the homemade chips are special.

Great breakfast staff lovely will recommend to anyone going to Southport. Apple tart best I've had lovely pastry and just the right amount of filling.

'Full breakfast' was anything but...small plate; one egg, two skinny sausage fair size bacon, beans - nothing else, that was it. Small and under whelming - overpriced for what you receive. Hard to see why it is so highly reviewed.

Stumbled across this lovely little cafe today when we came out of B & Ms,and looking for somewhere for lunch,love little places like this everything homemade we had the pie special with chips & peas,large cup of tea & a cake,£5:45 unbelievable value,delicious homemade pies,fabulous chips & my little apple tart was delicious.Also two lovely very friendly gentlemen running the place.We are here for 2 nights we might call in again before we go home.Very clean too.

We came to Southport on a day trip on one of the wettest days of the year! We discovered Andy's quite by accident. We had been to B&M and because of covid rules had to come out of the back door. We passed "Andys" and my friend asked if I wanted another cup of tea I said no! We walked to the front of the store and my friend looked over and said "OOHH they do home made cakes over there". We went back! What a friendly warm clean place it was and the cakes were absolutely delicious. We got a custard and an almond slice and shared them (because we couldn't make our minds up). Gorgeous!!! I took the same back to treat our coach driver. Only after we had enjoyed the cakes did we discover we could have had home made pie chips and gravy cup of tea and a cake for £5.45! I will be back!! There was also a varied menu if you were daft enough not to want to sample the lovely home baked food!

Been visiting Andy's for decades. Howard carries the mantle handed to him by his parents before him, traditional homemade outstanding fresh food, whether it be the meat pie, chips & gravy or the fantastic custard or cakes, you won't go wrong at Andy's! Keep up the great work Howard!

My wonderful mum always visited Andy’s cafe . She took me there . When I had my daughter we all went together . We have many happy memories of visiting Southport and they have always involved visiting Andy’s cafe . My mum always got a pie and egg custard to take home with her for the next day . My mum always said “ they make the best custard tarts ever “ I have to second that. Myself and husband always visit when we come to Southport and will be visiting very soon . It’s a family tradition that’s about 35 + years ongoing we love it . See you soon .

Today we went to Andy's Snack Bar for breakfast. It was the first time and we were pleased with the quality of the food (excellent tasty sausages unlike most places), great value (two breakfasts and two hot drinks for £9) and excellent service. The only thing that surprised me was that hash browns weren't an option on the menu but that is just a minor point. It is worth noting that breakfast is discounted by £1 per person before 1100 so if we had been 20 minutes later we would have had an extra £2 to find!

It is lovely and clean food is made fresh and made to feel welcome and it is value for money and the place I love to go when I am in southport

I`ve been a regular at Andy`s Snack Bar for 13 years and their standards have not slipped one bit in that time.They have a very loyal following - my Uncle has been going for 40 years!Whether eating-in or taking-away, the food, service & value for money are second to none.Family-owned and it shows. Spotlessly clean and with an eagerness to serve.It`s as if the staff know most of their customers by name!My favourite dish is 2 x fried eggs, chips, beans & cooked ham.All freshly cooked to order.The chips are beautiful - homemade in the traditional way. Such a rarity these days.And the homemade pies are excellent too. Meat, Potato & Meat, or Pork. Take your pick, they are all delightful.The prices are very fair.PRO TIP: park in Morrisons supermarket car park just 100 yards away - you get 3 hours free parking.

Handmade pies and pastries fantastic, thin yet crispy pastry baked to perfection. Excellent value Meat pie, homemade chips and mushy peas with gravy, tea, coffee and following by individual apply tart and egg custard (tasted just like mum used to make)Highly recommend this traditional cafe for cleanliness, friendly staff and edible food of high quality. Gets very busy we ate lunch at 1140 and by 1205 all tables taken. Good take away trade in pies and pastries also.

It’s been said in other reviews but it is a traditional cafe. Nothing fancy just good homemade, freshly cooked cafe food. Always busy so sometimes it’s hard to get a table.

Clean cafe with a good selection of traditional cafe food - we had full english for £5.50 - bargain and better quality than our hotel. It was all nicely cooked and not at all greasy.

Absolutely lovely place and staff. Not massive portions enough so you can fit dessert in too. All home cooked food. Proper chips and service with a smile. Across the road side on to B&M Bargains brilliant bit of shopping after parking in B&M Bargins car park £2 upto 4hrs excellent. You can shop then call at Andy's for a brew and a bite to eat. Very good prices. Other day got homemade meat pie (yummy) chips and mushy pies, mug of tea and a cake to finish £5.95 brilliant. Andy's a local so come on in and support our local businesses you wont be disappointed. Yum yum.

The pie and chips are the best ever, all homemade and the vanilla sponge is gorgeous but then all the food is! The café is so clean and the staff are all so friendly and helpful, I wouldn't go anywhere else in Southport. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed

Great to find the place is still open - brought Mum here as this is where she met my Dad back in 1963 - where it all began! Good British fare in a traditional cafe at reasonable prices. Pie n chips, full English breakfast and ham and cheese toastie.

It's like going back to the 60's. Chips, pie, mushy peas etc. Food ok if not a little bland, but in saying this it is very popular with the pensioners and is very busy.

Called in recently having not visited in many years. Very Impressed, very clean and fresh, great friendly helpful service. The frothy coffee is great and the food all very nice and well priced. Great place for breakfast or lunch and the service is very quick. Will be returning this week.

Best pies around! Haven’t had anything else from there. Always order hot pies and then cold to go in the freezer. Cafe is quite small and place seems to be very busy. Staff are lovely and friendly. They just dont seem happy if you order more than 4 pies. (Family of 5!) Always look forward to going to Southport for their pies!

We came here for a quick bite and were pleasantly surprised. It seems the pie lunch deal is very popular and it tasted nice. All home cooked and super quick service. It’s a family owned business and they are super friendly and basically lovely. It’s a basic but clean venue.

Have been calling in at Andy's snack bar for nearly 20 years now. It is only a small cafe but lovely and clean. If in a car u can park on the roadside and pay on metre don't chance it as there are traffic wardens always in southport. Personally we park at b and m have our breaky then do a shop in b and m you get a ticket on car park. Back to Andy's. We have the full breakfast which includes tea and toast or 30p more for coffee which I had it came in a mug and was lovely milky and hot. The bacon is lovely and lean and sausage tasty not huge but good quality. Eggs are so good lovely yellow yolk and tasty. Cooked just how I like it soft and runny. You have beans too. But what is the best is that when ever u call in the breaky is always the same. Continuity is the word for it I only wish I could take the cafe back to my home. It is a gem and easily missed. The pies they sell also are home made and egg custards too are yummy. You can buy them to take home. It is nice to see a family run establishment in this day and age continuing in southport. Had a really good lunch here. Meat pie, peas, gravy, chips, cup of tea and a custard tart all for £5. Great home cooked food. Very allergy aware as they make all the food, they know what is in it. Which is rare. Lovely polite staff, family business I believe. Will definitely return and highly recommend.

I used to live in Southport and always had a weekly visit here, the pies really are great, the pastry always cooked to perfection and well filled. They also make home made custard,apples tarts etc, again quality second to none. Although I now live many miles away I will often find an excuse to visit my old stomping ground just for a pie and custard 😊😊

Some one has already said it. The pie chips peas with a cake and a cup of tea for £5 can't be beaten. Owner starts work at 4am to make everything himself and its all good.Nice people working there. Hope it doesn't get too busy so we can't get seat. Shut at 3 PM.

Called in for lunch to see if the reviews i had read were true. I had meat pie, chips, mushy peas and gravy, mug of tea and a custard. hubby had the same but meat and potato pie. On the meal deal cost £5.00 each. It is small, but everything runs so smoothly from the ordering to the serving. What a pleasure our lunch was. Give it a try.

Andy's takeaway homemade pies are deliciously fresh and tasty but you need to get there early to buy from a limited supply of their cheese and onion pies in particular. The homemade cakes are also a great hit.This long established cafe is rather small, cramped and hidden up a side road at the top of Lord Street. It's not a trendy place but they serve up reasonably priced good breakfasts and lunches.

Had breakfast here, bacon poorly cooked, beans were the cheapest going. The sausages were the cheapest, nastiest things I've had in a long while. Poor ingredients, poorly cooked, I'd recommend avoiding for breakfast.

Wonderful place for a quick tasty bite or full meal, hard to know where to start but will start with service which is superb - the young lad knows what im having before I tell him-hes that good! Very efficient no waiting around , proper chips, traditional pies and cakes and good fair prices - an absolute gem!

Stumbled across this little cafe whilst walking round southport. Well worth the visit great service from the staff and felt welcomed. Great value for money and the food was spot on. Everything was freshly made and homemade and fair sized portion. Proper cup of tea and not these half sized China mugs you get in most places. Defiantly be back here again

My wife and i visit Andys cafe, Southport regularly, we find it very clean ,with good wholesome food,all homes made. Why would you go anywere else.. it is situated on Lord st. next to B&M store over the junction.

This is the first time we have visited but won’t be the last! We had a full English Breakfast to share and teas which were reasonably priced. The service was courteous and friendly to accompany the good quality, hot tasty breakfast and good brews. The cafe itself is cosy rather than small and offers great people watching views. It is a good place to take children; a nice change from over styled glass table type uncomfortable cafes and restaurants. (Although there is only room for folded prams and pushchairs)What more could you want...

Visited today and had home made meat pie, chips and peas with gravy with a freshly made custard tart and a cup of tea for £5.00. Which considering the quality of the food is a great bargain. Staff are efficient friendly and the premises are spotless.

Had a full breakfast with a special offer of a pound off before 11 am. Food was great but the coffee was scalded and very weak. Overall good value for money for £4.50 each though.

The breakfast here is just perfect! Have a slice of black pudding to make it even better. We were nicely greeted, orders taken, given nice hot drinks and our food was food in really good time. Everything tasted fresh and looked presentable, not a sign of grease.The little cafe was spotless. It was the best place we ate at during our four day stay in Southport. Its just a shame they close mid afternoon, otherwise we would have eaten our evening meal there too. Well worth calling in, so much of what they have on the menu is home made!

On our recent short break in Southport we had the £5.00 lunch deal , pie chips and mushy tea and cake . Chips spot on homemade as was the pie. We returned for breakfast next morning that was just as nice . I noticed some negative comments about the staff , quite the opposite on our visits staff were charming and patient with the older customers.

Struggling to choose somewhere for lunch with all the restaurants/cafes/snack bars about we stumbled across this little gem. Wow it was spotless (rated 5) food was delicious (pie, chips and mushy peas) price was good, and to top it off great service by two gentlemen who seemed to go out their way to make sure everything ok. Next time we are around we will most certainly visit here...
