Arriving shortly after opening time we availed of outside seating, in the shade underneath the sturdy build brick canopy. An inviting breakfast menu is on offer. Opting for an Eggs Benedict and cereal was perfect, with coffee and cappuccino. It was getting increasingly busy as time went on, but staff were great, cheerful and efficient throughout. A grand start to the day.

According to website and FB page, opening hours from 9.00am, but although we could see someone working away inside, and we were sitting outside the door, no attempt to open up or advise if there was a reason for delay. Went to Rubens instead - fab breakfast!

We came to Liverpool for the weekend and didn’t book breakfast at the hotel so had to find elsewhere. We walked along the docks and came across peaberry coffee house. We were greeted by a friendly smile as was seated promptly. We ordered pancakes and a breakfast burger….. WELL it was Devine! The atmosphere was great had enjoyable music on that got us ready for the day. The breakfast was that good we booked again for the next day. We attended the following morning again greeted by a smile and seated straight away. This time we both ordered build your own breakfast and again the food was fantastic…. Fried eggs cooked to perfection with a runny middle. The decor was an indoor outdoor vibe very nice and the staff incredible attentive. Special shout out to Taniqua who was our server both days. Kind, friendly, will assure you have the best deal and nothing could be to much trouble. She is a credit to the place and hopefully we will see her again next time we visit Liverpool as we will defiantly be returning. It’s is also dog friendly and wheelchair accessible. It was a pleasure - until the next time Loz (the girl on the mobility scooter)

I so wanted to like this place - we went on a warm day for lunch. I ordered the smoked salmon niscoise salad because the waiter said they were having trouble with fried items in the kitchen so there would be a delay on anything friend. Anyway - this was on as a main course and what I got was about 5-6 small new potatoes cut in half, tonnes of rocket, salmon which resembled trout (nothing smoked about it as it was in a fillet) and nothing much else. The portion was very small as well - I’m not sure why I paid £13! To top it off there were about 4 small cherry tomato halves on the plate which tasted overripe and almost rotten. I enquired about them and was told they were ‘sun dried’. As someone who purchases sundried tomato’s from Tesco’s all the time I can tell you categorically they weren’t.

Having looked at a few menus along the Albert Dock we chose this as it looked very inviting and the menu sounded good. We were seated promptly, order taken and wine served as requested. After quite some time we were informed that they had no sweet potato fries! My husband was very disappointed but we decided to continue as we had started our wine. The food took ages to arrive so I assumed they were cooking the chicken for my Harissa Chicken Flat Bread. From where I was sat I could see some onion rings sitting on the pass which I hoped were ours and then one of the chefs started to throw some ingredients onto a board which eventually turned out to be our flatbreads. My Harissa Chicken flatbread had the same cheese and tomato base flatbread as my husbands which was Tomato, Parmesan and Basil Pesto. The chicken was stone cold with no flavour let alone any harissa and I could not taste any tahini dressing and my husband's was basically a pile of rocket with parmesan grated over it and no taste of pesto. Both very bland and disappointing, such a shame.

We visited Tues morning 25th of August. The café was just about to open so we were the first customers. Our hotel across the way didn't provide breakfast so we were looking forward to some nice food. That is indeed what we got - 4 Peaberry breakfasts and an avocado on toast with poached eggs. All of which were very nice. Unfortunately/fortunately... Whichever way you perceive it, I was facing the kitchen where I witnessed the lady chef preparing soup. What I wasn't expecting to see was her double dipping her tasting spoon into the soup terrine. In normal times I would be horrified to witness such a thing never mind in a global pandemic. We tried but failed to get the attention of any person in authority to have a conversation about this which is why I am leaving an unpleasant review on TripAdvisor.

Ate here on a Friday morning, it was quite busy. Greeted by female staff member who gave the impression she could take or leave our custom throughout out visit but I'm mindful this could be due to back to work anxiety. I did notice she was particular about how food was presented. Gent was more amenable. Watched chef and team work in open kitchen, very organised, professional, calm & food a real credit to them and worth the wait. It's not mentioned on the menu but can adapt and order what you fancy. We had big breakfast, pancakes, eggs royale, all great, quality produce, hollandaise sauce was delicious. Would definitely return.

We visited Liverpool Monday/Tuesday of this week. On Monday evening we came across this restaurant and saw that they sold pancakes, so next day we went to the Albert dock to have pancakes there for breakfast, only to be told they were not serving food anymore, just drinks. This was around mid day. The menu outside said "PANCAKES SERVED ALL DAY". VERY DISAPPOINTED. We got a taxi there for the sole purpose of having pancakes. Wasted time and money.

We chose this restaurant in the Albert Dock area rather than the Tate Gallery restaurant down the road because it had a greater choice on the lunchtime menu. Our first disappointment was that there was no Prosecco because they had been very busy. We ordered Pino Grigiot Blush as an alternative but after we poured it realised it was, in fact, Zinfandel which is £4 dearer. We pointed this out and felt that the waitress knew it was the wrong wine but was reluctant to disappoint us a second time so had not mentioned it. The food portions were bulky which some might see as a good point but there was little finesse about the appearance of the plates and most of us left some. Finally, we were surprised to see that we were charged the full price for the Zinfandel on the bill even though we pointed out the error. It would have been friendly and considerate to lower the price by £4. We paid the waitress for our bill minus £4 and left a tip. When my friend attempted to explain the problem to the manager, he was uninterested, unsympathetic and kept her waiting. She promptly removed our tip from the table and we left. It was the only low point in an otherwise great weekend at Albert Dock, Liverpool.

We came to the coffee lounge this afternoon for our pre-arranged afternoon tea. I have had afternoon teas delivered from there on 3 occasions previously in Southport and they have always been excellent so we went with high expectations that one in the lounge would be equally good, if not better. Unfortunately it was extremely disappointing. I had contacted in advanced and paid deposits for each person and received an email from them detailing the menu but the afternoon teas contained no quiche or sausage rolls, no salad or crisps as had been promised and the sandwich selection was uninspiring (only cheese and pickle and ham). When we tried the scones they were cold, hard and stale and frankly inedible (we think the scones and very small pieces of cake had been previously frozen). The only option the waitresses could offer were 2 clingfilmed left over scones from the display cabinet between 4 people. She did say she had tried to contact the owner whilst we were there but received no reply. We live in Northampton and travelled several hundred miles to take our elderly parents out for a treat but were left feeling very disappointed. I emailed the owner but received no response.

Having walked nearly 10 miles along the beach, the dunes and through the pinewoods, Kitty’s Tea Rooms were a very welcome sight! I only wanted a cup of tea but couldn’t resist the coffee walnut cake (YUM) and a very tasty Club Sandwich. Very friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. Perfect.
