Kitty's Tea Rooms in Sefton

Having walked nearly 10 miles along the beach, the dunes and through the pinewoods, Kitty’s Tea Rooms were a very welcome sight! I only wanted a cup of tea but couldn’t resist the coffee walnut cake (YUM) and a very tasty Club Sandwich. Very friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. Perfect.

Perfectly located for breakfast or lunch before or after a visit to Formby Point - only just up the road. Everyone was very friendly and the food was simple but very good, nicely presented and good value. Did I mention that they are friendly? The only issue would be parking nearby at a weekend or Bank Holiday but it is right over the road from the Merseyrail station.

Called here for the first time after walking out of the Freshfield pub due to its terrible service. At Kitty's, the staff were friendly and attentive with very good food. This was our first visit, glad we've found you & we will be back.

Fantastic food and really lovely staff. We brought our daughter here for her lunch on her third birthday and they were so accommodating. Made memories and will be back. Can’t recommend highly enough.

What a lovely place to stop by after a cycle ride and dogwalk. So good to find a dog friendly place too and the decaffeinated cappuccino was fab with the range of breakfast menus. Service was excellent

We met up with a friend for the first time in ages and after a long walk, Kitty's was the perfect place for coffee and brunch. The two members of staff were really friendly and helpful, we all had something different off the breakfast menu and everything was good. And the rain held off until we'd finished! We'll definitely visit again next time we're looking for squirrels and hopefully try the delicious looking cakes.

Sat outside in the sun for lunch and coffee and bought a cake to take away. Coffee was nice, food was tasty, cakes yummy. The staff were friendly, and accommodating - I have very awkward dietary requirements and made changes to my food and drink and they didn’t bat an eyelid. Also service was quick! Just what we wanted. Lovely food, fantastic service. Popped in today to shelter from the storm, and we were so well looked after. The two lovely hosts even dried and warmed my soggy coat for me. Will definitely be back. Thanks Ladies!!

The staff at Kitty’s Tea Room helped out two pregnant ladies in need after a long walk from the beach only to find the fish and chip shop was shut!! Even though they were only doing cakes at the time we arrived, the lady kindly offered us sandwiches which saved us a further walk to try find somewhere else! Thank you so much!!! Tuna mayo and cheese and chutney sandwiches were delicious, I had a superb cup of tea and we also enjoyed a scone and lemon drizzle cake. Prices were also very reasonable. Highly recommend this cafe. There was plenty of hand sanitiser and outdoor seating, plus clean bathroom facilities.

We are always met with a smile when we stop off during our long walks for coffee and scone. Very friendly cafe and always busy. No wonder with so lovable staff.

I took my parents here for brunch.. My Dad is 90 and struggles with walking and my Mum has dementia. The staff were so kind and patient with us.. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and the hand sanitising and distancing measures made us feel safe. An added bonus was that I could take my dog. This is going to be a regular treat for us.

Often stop here when walking my dog or when I have been out cycling. Staff always helpful and food good.

First time since lockdown been out for a coffee want to help local buisnesses, I'm in buisness myself hairdresser !! I have done so much to my salon to keep it safe and make clients feel safe so they re visit. Was very disappointed that when a lady left her table and chair was not cleaned and sterilized!! That means that the table my family and I sat on with our coffee and toast went either !! I expect people to go to the same trouble and care go to !! I won't be going back ,, Kitty please up your game you need too

Popped in on a Saturday lunchtime for a bite to eat; lots of food had run out: bagels, panninis, fish fingers and too busy to do afternoon tea. It was OK but won't be rushing back.

Dog friendly cafe with the loveliest staff and the tastiest cafe food! Cute decor. Delicious hearty brunch, I had croque monsieur and my partner had meat omelette. Both were tasty and very filling. So good that we couldn’t resist a cakeaway to take home. Will visit again and again.

We held my daughter's 21st Birthday lunch here after a bracing morning on Formby beach and we all have a wonderful time. The Tea Rooms were a super venue for a small family gathering and the food (soup, sandwiches, toasties & paninis, followed by cakes) was all delicious! The staff were very friendly and really helped make my daughter's day special. Thank you!

Always stop here when cycling this way. Very friendly and food always good. Cakes are yummy and I like the selection of teas.

I visit this place regularly in the middle of my cycle ride and it is fantastic, the staff, food, and atmosphere, is excellent. You are always welcomed with a big smile from all staff, and made to feel like part of the family. Definitely a place to visit and enjoy.

Been here a few times wonderful service friendly welcoming staff served our walking group today of 12 quickly food lovely and good portions highly recommend you stop off here for a cuppa before you catch your train home even had table service to save us queuing

Always stop off here if cycling out this way. Today was cake and tea. The cakes and scones are lovely home made. The girls are always warm and friendly.

Popped in for a small bite of breakfast. Great thick cuts of bacon, no fat and lovely tea. Service was excellent too.

My husband and I went for a walk on Saturday and thought we would stop off at Kitty's for some lunch as we often pass by yet had never been in. The staff were friendly and we sat outside as it was a very hot day. They took our order from the table and were quick to bring us our drinks and food. As we were there the place started to fill up so we arrived at the right time! I had 2 of the banana milkshakes which were heavenly! My husband had coffee and said it was a great. I had a jacket with salad to eat and he had a full English which we both enjoyed very much. It was great value for money and a clean, attractive establishment. I would recommend Kitty's and we will be back in again on one of our walks.

On a bike ride I stopped here for a lovely coffee and orange juice outside. I'd say this is a cute quaint cafe, out of the way a bit but still close enough to walk to the village. The menu had afternoon tea and some meals available. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Came for coffee and chat with a friend had nice piece of carrot cake friend had toasted tea cake lovely decor and friendly staff ideal for the station and the squirrel reserve and beach quite a few seats to sit in outside if you have a dog

We arrived at Kitty's absolutely soaked through after a very wet walk around the Red Squirrel reserve. We were made so welcome, given paper towels to dry our selves off with, given somewhere to put our dripping waterproofs and then had delicious hot drinks (hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows and cappacino) and beautiful home made cake. The staff were lovely and we will certainly return if we are in the area again.

Visited yesterday morning for coffee and toasted teacake. Opposite the station with friendly staff. Excellent value, would highly recommend.

This quaint little tea shop is the perfect place to sit and chill after a long dog walk or if you just fancy some really good food. The food was cooked fresh, it was hot and cooked to perfection. The staff are incredibly welcoming, in fact I'd say that they were like family i hadn't seen in a while. Prices were spot on coukd not complain and thus tea shop is dog friendly. I'll be going back, to give them more of my money.

We ate here the other Saturday, the tearooms is very quant and comfortable, we were given sometime to look over the menu, staff were not pushy, but were very knowledgeable about the menu, we ordered a club sandwich and a meat omelette, also a pot of tea, the tea came in proper china cups which made the tea taste so much better, although it was busy we got our food quickly. Just as our food came my baby daughter woke up, one of the staff members came over and asked if they could hold her while we ate our food, which was very kind of them.

Was not impressed with this place, outside tables were not cleared when we arrived. Coffees took too long, staff weren't particularly welcoming either. The mugs also had stains and marks on them, clearly haven't been washed after it had been previously used. At least the cakes were OK.

Visited here last Saturday, the specail of scrambled egg and smoked salmon was superb, also the toasted chicken and cheese was very good, their milkshakes are something not to miss, made with real cheshire dairies ice cream!!!! Very reasonable prices, cheerful and helpful staff and will definitely come again. This was my second visit.

Call into Kitty’s when we visit Formby to see the red squirrels and walk through the dunes and along the beach.

Visited on Saturday Morning with my daughter. The owner and her husband are so friendly and welcoming. We both had kitty’s breakfast, tea and extra toast. Super quality from start to finish.

Stopped at Kitty's after a long walk on the beach. Had coffee and cheese on toast. Both were delicious, the toast has generous cheese on it and the coffee (a latte) actually tasted of coffee which was most welcome after having had too many weak milky lattes.

Lovely cafe, nicely decorated. Only had a bacon butty, no brown bread available. Food was nothing special.......a bacon butty toasted in a sandwich toaster........

Small, pretty place very close to Freshfield station. We had tea and scones and they were very nice. The pottery is also super cute. The staff was very nice.

Lucky to get a table as they had reservations for Mother’s Day -1 laid out ready. The food looked delicious when one of the parties arrived during our visit.

A group of us met at Freshfield station to do a walk through the pinewoods and decided to start the day with coffee at Kitty's. We had a walk welcome, excellent service and lovely scones and cake. The coffee I had was perfect - strong and black but not bitter and served in a china cup. An extra bonus was, it had stopped raining when we emerged!

Came across this tea room after a long walk on Formby Point and surrounds. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed a lunch of delicious homemade soup, sandwiches and scrambled egg. Just brilliant!

Walked the dogs to the beach. We didn’t want to stand in the queue for the coffee at the beach. We set off walking and came across kitties tea rooms.

Having walked back from the beach to take the train back, this café is perfectly placed just around the corner from the station. Friendly and chatty staff, nice coffee and a good choice of cakes it was the right place at the right time. Recommended.

This was literally the worst coffee I've ever had. I can't bring myself to write more, the memories still bring a bad taste to my mouth.

In a very handy location next to Freshfield Station,on the road to the squirrel reserve,and on the walking and cycling route from Liverpool to Southport:a short walk away is The Fisherman's Path which goes through such beautiful pinewoods.Have called in many times in the last two months while out on our bikes,and always find a warm welcome here.Have found the tea and coffee to be of good quality,the tea served in good china pot and cups;the cakes look delicious,but have not yet tried them.Decor is pleasing and relaxing,in pastel shades:there is a good amount of outdoor seating,and racks for the bikes.

Really friendly staff and amazing fresh food.... Highly recommended, especially for breakfast food Open 7 days a week which is a bonus

My family and I have visited Kitty's regularly and have always been pleased with the great coffee, fabulous snacks and scrummy cakes. The kids also love the milkshakes!! It's also great that they are dog friendly. We will continue to visit.

Found it by accident after a walk on Formby sands ,forest and railway track. Just what we needed nice cup of tea in china teapot. Plus homemade scones made a good day out even better. Need to try if in the area (must be better and worth the walk from national trust beach than the snack vans)

Called in here today after a walk around Freshfields. Had a nice hot cup of tea and a chicken panini, very tasty. My dad had a latte and sausage on toast which he really enjoyed. We sat outside in the sun and we're waited on. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. Will be popping back here again.

Imagine the perfect baked potato. Now, half the size of it. Now half the size of it again. Now, instead of baking it slowly in an oven, just zap it in a microwave for five minutes. Add about two unheaped tablespoons of tuna on it and squirt a blob of cheap mayonnaise. Mouthwatering, right? Well that's the mess that was served to me today. The most pathetic excuse for I baked potato that I've ever, ever seen! I'd be embarrassed to serve what I had today. Awful. Awful. Awful!

Stopped here early afternoon after a visit to Formby Point. The lemon and lime cake was delicious and the coffee passed my husband's exacting standards. Lovely wee place with friendly service. We will be back again if we are in the area.

Popped in for brunch, had lovely omelette with a latte, and persuaded by lovely display to have another cuppa and a slice of cake. Staff, especially owner, very friendly. Will return and recommend

After visiting the pine woods we found this place still open for lunch at about 2.30pm. The service was very friendly and I enjoyed my pot of tea and cheese and onion panini.

Visited here recently for tea and cake. It's been nicely done out - spotty tablecloths and China crockery. Service was prompt and very friendly with a good choice of teas and we intend to return for the full afternoon tea with prosecco which looked great!

A lovely coffee shop close to Freshfield Station - has homemade cakes and scones that are delicious along side a selection of drinks.

Just went in for a brief visit to have a drink and received a very rude response. Not at all how I expect to be treated at a small independent place.

I've been to the Café before and had a lovely coffee and lunch there however last Saturday I went and my partner and I were spoken to in a really unfriendly manner and treated very unkindly. We decided to have our drinks to go and we went somewhere else. I don't think I'll go back.

Super little tea rooms opened Feb 2016 opposite Freshfield station. Customers guaranteed a warm welcome from the owner Cathy and her friendly staff. Great food, excellent coffee and tea. Definitely worth a visit.
