Good lunch selection. Very nice salads and a good choice of panini. It’s not very clear when you go in what to do if you want to sit inside to eat as all the boards are headed up as takeaway menus. The seating area is really just there to eat the takeaway - so order what you’d like and then take it through to eat. It might be good to make this clearer for customers especially when it’s busy. Overall though the food and coffee were delicious so well worth a lunch stop.

This 'deli' has been in Woodstock for a number of years but changes management time to time. It has an array of deli type food and sandwiches and drinks. The coffee was poor and very weak. I did not enjoy the food ; very unappealing display and bordering on scruffy - definitely needs a hand in customer service and presentation - very basic. Not tasty . The sit down cafe has awful decor and needs a complete decoration - it's just a place to eat the take out to be honest. One of the management along the line of this place set a precedent and no one has bothered to change it. It's out of date and unappealing.

Dreadful, and has been for years. Definitely don’t visit with a baby or child, they don’t provide high chairs and the wait for a simple panini on a quiet day was ludicrously long. The staff couldn’t care less about customer service. Don’t bother! So many other sandwich places in Woodstock.

We had an awful experience at Hampers. The coffee was so weak as to be undrinkable, the hot chocolates also lacking taste. The lemon cake was flavoured with artificial flavouring. We had to wait to be served and then one drink had been forgotten. Don’t bother!

Popped in with my son and his family for a warm sausage roll on a cold afternoon for all 6 of us. The middle aged gentleman working there totally ignored us, didn’t even look at us, we where the only ones in the shop as it was near closing time. We where in the shop for a few minutes then left without any acknowledgment at all. We felt we where an inconvenience, so we left. Such a shame as the food is very good, we won’t be returnin.

It’s gone down hill since being brought out, poor service, poor communication, poor management. We were ignored for 15 mins while trying to order a coffee today only to be told they had a back log, looked at the coffee machine 2 tickets up. This used to be a great place for coffee but so slow and service very poor.

We had a very delicious sandwich in Hampers. there seemed to be a good selection of snack type food and cakes. I wanted to try their Cornish Pastie but sadly it would have been heated in a micro wave and I hate micro waved pastry. Girl on till had obviously had a smile by pass. But we would definitely go again to enjoy their food. Very popular venue.

Had stopped off in Woodstock to look in a couple of shops, and decided to get a drink/cake in the afternoon. Drinks fine, but I thought the cakes somewhat expensive. Not sure what main menu items are like, but may find out if we return with friends who live in the area.

'Hampers' is a Deli with an attached Dining Room, the word Cafe does not do it justice. The outstanding element of my visit was Charlie Briggs - in equal measure with the outstanding offerings in the Deli & on the menu. First the food - as promised seasonal, freshly cooked 'tarte'/quiche-style offerings alongside salads, great bread, cheeses etc. The food on the plate had a texture & flavour which was simply outstanding - my favourite word to describe this place .... ..... and Charlie. He could not have been more helpful, generous with his time & thoughtfulness. Very much part of the whole experience. I cannot recommend Hampers of Woodstock highly enough. It's an experience on many levels. Victoria

Used to be a daily lunchtime customer during work break. Have returned today following a period of healthy eating… Regretted gong in immediately. Zero atmosphere, no welcome, uninterested staff, no deli, everything bought in and nothing homemade. Opted for my old favourite - ham and cheese baguette - stale, and no flavour. Back to my healthy diet tomorrow! Won’t be returning to Hampers that’s for sure…

We arrived about 30 minutes before the cafe was due to shut, but hardly anything left to choose from. Then the order was delivered incorrectly and an iced coffee that eventually turned up was bad. Also, the famed sausage roll was warmed up for me but really this meant that they put it in the microwave. It ended up very hot at the ends, tepid in the middle and with soggy pastry. Overall, really disappointing

Excellent! This delicatessen has had something of a reboot in recent months. After many years of decline, new owners have taken the reigns and are in the process of refocusing the business towards being a first class deli and work is underway to reopen the cafe. It’s is now run by a fully trained chef, and it shows in the quality of food available. So if you haven’t been recently or ever, give Hamper’s a go - you won’t regret it!

Went for a hot chocolate and as they are still not accepting people inside post covid the choice is take away or a seat on the small number of tables outside. Having been for a walk we opted for a seat. We took a seat and I collected the drinks and placed them on the table which at that point nothing seemed amiss. As my wife leant to the middle of the table to pick up a piece of cake the table tipped over in her direction and the cup tipped over with the lid coming off and spilling all the contents over her legs, shorts and t shirt. Thankfully it wasn’t tea as that would probably have scolded her. As it was the chocolate wasn’t too hot. I went into the shop to say we’d had a calamity and the drink had tipped over when the older male who appeared to be something to do with the management finished my sentence by saying the table was uneven. We got some paper towels but my wife wanted some water to get the stains out of her clothing. The male then proceed to suggest the incident had been her fault as she should have checked the table was level in the first place. He eventually got her some water but it wasn’t offered and neither was any sort of general apology or concern that she hadn’t been burned. He reluctantly gave her another drink. Accidents happen but this is not how I expected it would be dealt with. There are plenty of places to get a drink in Woodstock so we’ll be going there

Decent food (salad and a sandwich) in a gorgeous, central location, however the deli offerings were very limited, with mostly empty shelves and only a few cheese which was a shame. The deli really looks so cute from the outside and this business has all the ingredients to be fantastic: a premium location, indoor and outdoor seating, regular customers streaming past; but it felt lack lustre.

Even more disappointing was the reaction of the manager, who only offered a replacement salad box, next time I visit. We popped in for lunch and it was difficult to decide what to eat as they have an excellent menu. We opted for the soup and we were presented with lovely large bowls of thick, hearty sweet potato soup with two pieces of door step fresh bread. This little place is clearly popular as we were lucky to find a table at 2.30.

We stopped in Woodstock for a comfort break when en route home after a few days holiday in the Cotswolds. We found "Hampers" by chance, luckily for us. The restaurant area of the deli was very busy and we grabbed the last table, We had intended to just have a coffee but when my husband saw the quiche he couldn't resist ! The mushroom quiche was excellent and I opted for a warm scone, which was equally delicious. The restaurant is very popular, lovely atmosphere. All the staff were very pleasant, the food is amazing and very reasonably priced. A little treasure.

Went in and despite only a couple of tables being occupied waited over 40 minutes for eggs. Other tables came in and were served, ate and paid and still no eggs! I suspect that the order was lost... the young girl apologised however due to her inexperience didn’t know what else to say apart from ‘cash or card’.

Three phone conversations with the hotel management eventually confirmed that a Sunday roast could be obtained in the Terrace resturant. A table for 7 was booked and confirmed. On arrival the Terrace resturant was set up for a wedding ceremony. No other dining tables were apparent. On querying this with bar staff we were abruptly told "not our problem".Eventually found a deputy manager who set about laying up a dining table amongst the wedding guests ! Meanwhile we tried other local venues but couldn't get in within our timescale. We eventually sat for our anticipated Sunday lunch in a crowded golf club bar surrounded by a multitude of wedding guests. The food was obviously recently pulled out of the freezer, looked and tasted same ! HOPELESS !!We recommend training for front of house management in the art of coordination and courtesy for members of the bar staff.

When a business contact of mine from London told me he would be visiting Witney, of course I wanted to meet up with him. But also I wanted to impress him and show him the best that Witney ha to offer. When I booked dinner at The Three Horseshoes I was confident that my contact would have a great evening, and it was absolutely the right choice. As soon as he arrived he commented on how amazing the pub was, and how he loved the atmosphere and the log burner too. Our dinner was fantastic and even though the place was busy, the speed or service and the attentiveness of the team was brilliant. They were there when we needed them, and left us to get on with our business conversation the rest of the time. For impressing a really important contact from London - The Three Horseshoes was exactly the right choice and what is SO brilliant is that it is also the perfect choice for a quiet pint or to meet up with friends too.

It isn’t that often I visit The Windmill, but I know the place well enough to know something is very different. There was a different aura in the air today. I didn’t recognise any of the staff members, and whilst they seemed like a large family, they were all unique and discombobulated in their own ways. I must start with some high praise - we were greeted very kindly by a lovely tall Irish lady with a beaming smile. Whilst very busy, she was also very accompanying and allowed us to buy a few of their home-made pint glasses (which she said she wasn’t supposed to do). Hats off to her for the hospitality. Sadly things took a slight turn for the worse whilst we were seated. It was only myself and my partner ordering some pub grub, however, after a brief conversation with the waiter it was quickly apparent that some kind of knowledge barrier prevented us from ordering exactly what we wanted. I have a suspicion this older gentleman was a distinguished chef from years gone by, because there wasn’t a single word I understood in his recommendations. Embarrassingly, we decided to opt for a few beers at the bar before ordering food instead. I must admit, that was a saving grace, for their homemade beer ‘Hawkstone’ was divine. The bartender was full of dry wit which added to a great atmosphere amongst the other guests. He has that familiar family friendly humour, like you wouldn’t be surprised to see him on TV! Not only was the beer exceptional in quality, the slight intoxication seemed to clear up some of the brain fog I was experiencing earlier, since the waiter suddenly seemed to made a lot more sense! So, we finally ordered our meal and enjoyed some local produce - again, simply divine. Despite the great tastes and atmosphere, I couldn’t help but feel the service was jeopardised by the initial language barrier. As such, I did ask the waiter if we could remove our service charge. I should add, this was a new waiter at the time, a dreary English chap who wasn’t impressed with our request. Whilst his thorough and detailed lecture around why a service charge holds such an important role in the overarching finance of the food industry, I tried to hold my ground and get this removed from the bill. It was only after we realised my partner had been asleep for 8 minutes that we sped things up, paid the bill with a 50/50 compromise on the service charge, and got ourselves out of there. All in all, I’d recommend the establishment because, despite some teething problems and unorthodox scenarios, the people are genuine and the food/drink is exceptional. Just keep an eye out for those tractors (given the rural area) - a young man with curly blonde hair had completely blocked my car in so we had to wait half an hour to leave!

The food was very good. the decor and place is nice. we were only a table of 6 adults but the food was very very slow to come out. nearly an hour wait for out roasts and 40 mins wait for puddings. the service was good but again we constantly had to ask more than once for things but we would come again ps don’t order the eton mess if you are expecting normal eaton mess. no mention of it being sorbet.

Unwelcoming from the staff. Afternoon tea was limited to one very small pot of tea person with only 4 choices of tea. Egg mayo and salmon in tiny rolls and pureed! One delicious coronation chicken finger sandwich but then an unappetising cucumber and mint one. The rolls were tiny. Scones were nice. Cakes also tiny. People who wanted to take cakes home were provided with boxes meant for wraps. Not value for money and not the pleasant experience we had two years ago.
