Amazing place, welcomed a large group of us comfortably multiple times. Amazing service and great respect for all of us who were grieving the loss of a family member. Would highly recommend to others going, They offer great facilities for large families and children. Good quality food and I like the theme of "steak night".

An amazing restaurant and bar, came to visit last year for a wake for one of my best friends Jake Green it was his favourite place to go, and revisited this year in September with friends and his family to celebrate his life! The bar staff was amazing and would highly recommend to anyone!

This is an absolute marvellous place to visit it is great for kids family's couples. I went on the same day as last review(smoke)a couple of youngsters were told to leave so action was taken. Had you have stayed you would have seen. Other than this the staff have always been kind and polite and nothing to much of an issue. Food is limited on menu but what I've had has always been delicious prompt service. The marquee is a great asset to the pub for all party types and food catered for if needed. Great value.

This is my local pub/restaurant and I love supporting local. I also very much love a Roast dinner. We visited here on Sunday 1st September and was very disappointed. We was shown to our seats very promptly, by a very weary looking waitress who happily told us she had been there working til midnight the night before was very very tired. We opted for the carvery which was beyond disappointing......it was £16.95 each which is slightly more expensive than we would normally pay for a roast, but as I say we like to support local. The meat was fine, choice of beef, gammon or turkey. The potatoes and all vegetables had been cooked from frozen, the Yorkshire puddings were tasteless and stuffing ball so hard you literally had to hold it down to cut it. But by far the worse thing was the gravy......it was just hot runny water with a slight tinge of gravy colour. I did complain to the tired waitress about the food, she confirmed it is all cooked from frozen, and that they had numerous complaints about the gravy that day but the chef would not change it. We will not be visiting again.

Came to the Rose for a few drinks and food. A group of people turned up and went into the garden. Unfortunately had to leave as this group were smoking drugs, which filled the restaurant area of the foul smell. I swiftly left as not something I would like to be smelling when eating and certainly not a good look for first time dinners!!! Will not be returning as male staff didn’t even ask them to stop or leave. Shame as this ruined the experience for me and had heard good reviews about the Rose.

Disappointing carvery. Frozen roast potatoes, so simple to do, no need for frozen. Soggy cabbage and a strange tasting red cabbage, frozen carrots. Staff were lovely and made us feel welcome, but based on food we wouldn’t return. Shame, nice atmosphere.

Visited recently for a carvery, nice friendly and welcoming environment. However and disappointingly, the carvery that was recommended to us did not live up to expectations. Gammon was undercooked, veg, roast potatoes/parsnips and Yorkshire pudding were frozen and not fresh. Really easy things to do, and something that you can easily improve on. Better carvery at a chain unfortunately.

Standards have slipped ,which of course is very sad. Not visited for about 7 months and yet another change of staff . A very quiet Tuesday afternoon . No other customers yet . The very pleasant jovial Nick took our order . Dually served up . Still great taste , and cooked BUT. the ramakin of peas was Full of water with only several sticking up like Tracy island !!!!. The new shabby chic not suiting the décor in our opinion. Still a very good selection of beer . Will return but lets hope mistakes do not reoccur . Looked online for a Sunday Carvery and managed to get booked and it didn't let us down. The potato and leek soup was delicious our son had the loaded fries. We went for the carvery and it was hot and tasty We all had different meats Turkey, Beef or Gammon and all agreed very flavoursome and tender. Vegetable choice was good. Son and husband enjoyed the pudding choice too! The staff were all so very friendly and cheerful and made us welcome especially the manager. Nice to find a venue with a nice atmosphere and decent 80s music :) we look forward to returning again one day!

We visited on a whim on Easter Monday, two adults and two children. The menu was quite limited but there was a choice for everyone. A carvery was on offer but we didn’t want a roast so ordered two children’s meals and two fish and chips. The food was very good, the chips were crispy and fluffy and the fish was delicious. We didn’t have room for dessert. Starters, malls and drinks came in We have never visited before (we live out of the area) but would happily visit again. The only reason for four stars instead of five is that the menu was not particularly varied - but personally I would rather a few choices cooked well than a lot cooked badly.

Bad first impression. As soon as we walked through the door saw the bar man sitting on a bar stall behind the bar on his phone. What could have been the manager not really doing much other than watching rugby. Food I must say was amazing and saw the chef she was only smart dressed one nice to see a happy smiley face. I heard a bell ring which I guess was to say good was ready no one moved chef had to come to bar to tell them and then he got off bar stall and off his phone. Pub looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a couple of days. I won’t be back unless the service improves shame service let the food down massively. The food was the only highlight for us. I think it unprofessional sitting on a bar stall behind bar playing on your phone.

Plates were lovely and hot. I'm giving this review purely so no one orders the cheeseboard. It was without doubt the worst one I've ever had. It came with green grapes which were so sour they were nearly inedible but my main gripe was the 9 prices of identical rectangular plastic cheese meant to represent cheddar, Stilton and unbelievably Brie , which came out on small individual plastic wrappers and was glossy, rubbery and tasteless. A real shame as a lovely pub and good food but come on- this was a poor throwback to the 80's, for £9 either do it right or scrap it from the menu !!!!!

The cabbage was so bitter to taste is was in edible. The gravy was like water. It used to be the best carvery around. What happened. The price has gone up. The quality of food has gone down. We will definitely not be going back. The people on the table next to us ,waited 45 mins for there grandaughters meal. She only ordered chicken nuggets. Food was not terrible but could definitely be better. Seems to almost taste like microwave food. The main concern I and my family had , is yes this is a country pub. However having dogs wherever in the restaurant was a massive no no. There was no staff asking anyone sitting on tables next to the groups with a dog / dogs if there is any pet allergies. One dog was pretty large and a very slobbering sight the whole time. Put us right off our food. They should definitely section off sides to dog friendly and non dog. This is the reason I won’t be attending again as I felt it all was just very hygienic as some staff pet dogs who also serve your food. Wouldn’t personally recommend.

First time ever at the Rose Revived a week a ago. Received a lovely warm welcome from the hard working staff on duty, Paul and Nick, as did every customer through the door. Fire was lit, perfect for a cold January afternoon, so cosy! Stayed for lunch and can honestly say it was all lovely (Deep Fried Brie, Vegetable Lasagne and Sticky Toffee Pudding), washed down with a glass of Shiraz (which was also excellent). Finished off with a cup of decent coffee in the form of a latte whilst chatting to a group of the regulars beside the fire. All in all lovely experience. Noted the selection of beers and ales on tap, was really impressed! Only issue I found was that some of the vegan choices on the menu were not available that day, so would suggest to management that might be something to address and watch out for in future.

Lunch was superb, presented beautiful and incredibly tasty. As I mentioned it was my mother in laws 87th birthday she was presented with a complementary warm chocolate fidge brownie and ice cream. The promotion of 30% off made this even more spectacular as the prices are reasonable anyway. We visited for an evening meal. the menu was quite basic, just typical pub grub options. When the food came out, it had been over cooked in the fryer. Lovely garden and setting for a drink but I wouldn't go for the food.

Firstly service was really good. But the roast was the worst meal I think I have ever eaten in a pub/restaurant. Whoever owns this establishment need to address this fast. Absolutely shocking and over £40 a head and not one drop of alcohol or desert.

We booked for a family afternoon tea, for around 50 people. We had plates of sandwiches and cakes, really lovely quality bread used and fillings were really nice. The coffee and tea were served in lovely cups and saucers with lovely tiered cake stands. The service was amazing, the servers polite and attentive. We are really grateful to Natalie the catering manager for such a lovely spread, so accommodating. The table cloths were beautiful, white laundered and the Pilgrims Hall itself is really lovely. If you are thinking of a place to hold a celebration do enquire, it was really good value for money and everyone commented on the quality of the food and drinks. My thanks to Kirsty for organising and being great at staying in touch to arrange the details. Plenty of parking and lovely walks around the Priory to walk off the lovely cakes. ❤️

Disappointing. Starters were ok. Steak was full of sinew and tough. Chicken ok but with heavy over-rich sauce. Pork Loin almost inedible. Service was slow, one waitress didn’t know what black pepper was! We had to remind them about our second drinks order. At the end we were charged for 2 extras at £1 each. We didn’t query it but have no idea why we were charged. We will definitely not be returning.

Brilliant breakfast, cooked fresh every time and tailored to individual requests. Friendly staff and very reasonable prices. Tucked away at the back of an airport hangar it’s a bit tricky to find but we’ll worth it.
