Grosvenor Casino in Newcastle upon Tyne

Considering that this is a silver venue I wouldn't rate it as aesthetically pleasing. This venue appears shabby, dark and dank, there is a foisty odour in the pit area. This venue is in desperate need of a refurb. Stockton Grosvenor is a bronze venue, it beats This site hands down.

I am writing to formally complain about the behavior of one of your staff members, Toyin, during my visit to your casino today. I have been a regular customer for some time and have never felt the need to raise a complaint about any member of your staff until now. Today, my partner and I were using one of the electronic roulette machines. We had placed £20 in the machine and decided to sit at a nearby bar table to clearly view the screen and determine our next move. To our surprise, Toyin noticed the £20 on our machine, and without consulting us, she discussed the situation with her manager. They proceeded to conduct some checks and eventually called a random person to take what was rightfully our money. When my partner confronted Toyin and her manager about this, her response was a sarcastic and offensive, "reallyyyy???" This implied that we were lying or trying to claim money that wasn’t ours, which was both insulting and unprofessional. This is not the first time we have had issues with Toyin, and her behavior towards us has become a recurring problem. As regular patrons of your establishment, we expect to be treated with respect and courtesy. The behavior exhibited by Toyin today was unacceptable and left us feeling embarrassed and demeaned. We enjoy visiting your casino and have never had such negative experiences with other staff members.

Some of the Bar staff need to be retrained. The bar was empty and both of the bar staff were busy gossiping. When I asked for a drink I was given attitude. I remained polite. Additionally, twice while I was playing slots, I went for a smoke outside. My machine had over £200 and I placed the usual sign saying “this machine is reserved”. When I returned they had cleared the table and thrown my drinks away, both drinks were over half full… absolute muppets.

Great casino, dealers are the best and always chatty. Food and drink reasonable priced. Plenty of slots and always table games available. Staff are always very attentive and will open tables if needed so it never seems over crowded. Always a great experience we really enjoy it here :)

Had a fantastic night very cheap drinks , live entertainment by a take that tribute band who were amazing and to top it up I met a few customers from when I worked there24 years ago also I won £50

I had a delightful time while visiting. The door staff were welcoming and informative. Scott, that night's security, was kind to direct me towards the gender neutral facilities inside. Tania on the front desk was simply amazing. Processing my new membership promptly while making me feel very welcome with her warming personality. Once inside, I ordered my drinks from a delightful bartender named Danial. Which I will always remember due to the unusual spelling and his bright smile. The cost of the drinks was priced quite similarly to other establishments around the city center, and there was much on offer. In all, I had a delightful experience and recommend a visit if you are visiting Newcastle and fancy a date with Lady Luck.

Great casino. I think they're trying to attract new custom cos I won a fortune with only £5 in my pocket but thousands as I left in a secure taxi lol That brought back memories of the old style casinos and yes I'll be back but won't expect to win so much next time but quite happy it's a nice chill zone after power house. See you there folks. I'm sure they'll introduce a foodie night soon or is that just wishful thinking. Good luck with your bets ...

We always have so much fun, when we go. The food is amazing and drinks are cheap. Staff are awesome and friendly.

If you are going, set yourself limits, it's a casino, and its not built by people winning all the time, waiting staff are friendly enough, if you can find them. Restaurant wasnt open, bar is pricey, £8 for double and mixer. Wasnt very busy, but i can see why.

Love this place, smaller than aspers casino across town but 100% better! Really really friendly staff! I only play slots with the luck of the Irish game on them so therefore I don't play slots when I go in there. Good priced drinks but the restaurant never seems to be open whenever I come up would be a 5 star rating otherwise!

We booked the Grosvenor before we attended a show at the Newcastle Arena, we have visited before pre-covid and always been impressed. It is an added bonus that you can securely leave your car as well. We were warmly welcomed as Grosvenor members, and greeted by our super friendly waitress (blonde lady) very chatty and engaging, always a nice bonus. We were treated to a free drink which was a very nice touch and we opted for the one course from the pre concert menu (they do have a choice 1/2 or 3 courses). The bar menu wasn't on which we didn't know until after we had originally chosen our meals this was a little disappointing as there was a bit more choice available. She did apologise but just as feedback would be nice to have more of an option. I ordered the burger which was very nice, well presented and decent portion. Overall service excellent but would have preferred to have the choice of either menu. Would recommend and return.

Its unacceptable that an issue that happened 12 years ago where i done nothing wrong i am still being penalised (i disputed it with the company and got no support from them), I love casinos but yet i am still being chastised this many years later!!! Bad on their part! No one will seem to listen to me!! Ah well i suppose i will spend my money else where.

Went for some food in the restaurant followed by trying our luck in the casino. Can I just mention the staff from Holly on reception to the croupiers to the valets and cashiers are all so lovely. They will help you with anything. Food was great and enjoyed a complimentary drink. Casino is so exciting and was nicely busy with a great range of people. All very respectful and fun to be around. Fantastic night and easily the best Casino in Newcastle

Played the Newcastle deepstack here and there was no Aircon the place was an absolute sweat box. Great staff. Tourney structure wasn't great but it was well run by the cardroom.

Made a sly comment about my race, when we challenge the bouncer on his comments he got aggressive and tried to push us out of the place threatening us with trespassing, the rest of the department tried to calm the situation down, the initial bouncer said “you’re all the same and call that card” was unbelievable the rest of the staff tried to calm the situation and apologised for his behaviour.

Tracey & Erwin are just the best

I went with a stag group of 20 plus...We had paid for the poker experience. Some novice some played before, I was a novice along with about 8 others. Had a great time learning for a couple of hours, then went to spend our ‘free bets’ and drinks (within the package) at the tables.. We were treated excellently by Shannel at the reception, whose patience signing us in and joining the non members deserves a mention on its own! Looking forward to going to my local casino in Nottingham.

I had a great time at the recent slots night organised by Jamie. It was brilliantly organised and there were little surprises all night long. Cameron ( John Smith) started the night on front desk with a massive grin and brilliant greeting and popped to make sure we were Ok at various points. Julie's energy and smile are infectious and she was so lovely arranging and serving a very covid safe buffet.... the cake was definitely a highlight ! Jamie did a grand job organising and Thomas holding the fort for the event. It was a really great night as ever

Popped into the casino before a shopping trip this morning and it was fab. Nathan was lovely and greeted us with a massive grin and three amazing bacon sarnies! Then we have a double act with Cameron. They were both uber friendly, kept us filled with lovely complimentary drinks and lots of giggles. Two lovely chaps and a really nice clean, friendly casino x

Like this place but too many people standing around the slots unmasked with a drink in their hand , staff are good but I feel uncomfortable at the lack of Social Distancing amongst unmasked drinkers

As regular visitors here we went to the Grosvenor tonight and were very disappointed. We had food as we usually do but unfortunately it was very disappointing. If it hadn't have been for the half price eat out scheme I think I may have complained. I understand about social distancing but it would have been nice to actually be able to get on a table. Asked for another black jack table to be opened but we were told no, and all of the roulette tables were full, obviously you didnt need our money tonight. Waited about 15 mins and unfortunately decided I wasnt going to sit around waiting. Think after approximately 10 years of being members here we may look at alternative establishments that actually want our business.

It's is very bad experience . Today we went to casino and asked for 20 pound deal . The service manager told me and my friend that internet is not working and you have to wait all the day . It's customer harrassment and decrease the values of the casino

We come for the day from york to your casino in Newcastle quite often. We came to weplay slots and wanted a breakfast bun of bacon, sausage or egg. We were told they had run out of everything this was at 9.30am

We came to watch the Super Bowl and had a great time! All of the staff were lovely and looked after us. We had a great time!

Thought I would pay visit to play fix terminal roulette the girl on reception was very pleasant however the attendant in the fix terminal roulette area with the pony tail was so miserable and didn't make me feel welcome

Una gente tan amable que se reirá contigo y que serán profesionales en su trabajo al mismo tiempo. ¡También me hicieron el mejor mojito! ¡Gente absolutamente increíble! No staff and limited tables to play on

I went and spent a fortune. I asked the guy inside if I was ok parked and he said he'd put numbers in. This was on Christmas Eve, long story short. I go a ticket. I went on in person 3 times to let them know and showed proof of my bank statements and money spent there that night. I thought it was taken care of, as I wrote down all sorts of info and 3 times. Once on phone as well. Now a year later...I have a CCJ and they are threatening to take my belongings. A sheriff or bailiff. The general manager called me back after I couldn't believe that this hadn't been squashed a month or 3 after the private eye ticket was issued. I was treated like trash by the general manager. Even though I was told by two managers and door people as witnesses. When I went in there. I have only parked there as a customer and the night of the ticket, I shouldn't have been served any more drinks and the men at the hold em table were telling the dealer not to let me play, drink or drive and he didn't care. I then woke up the next day at home. I had a man that said he should report the golden dealer as he was out of order. I rarely drink and I have spent at least a 1000 in the 4 times there. Which were mostly when I came in to sort ticket after being told by private eye or the parking company

Fantastic. Lovely staff. Myself and my friend popped out for a cigarette and came back and our drink had gone. There was a very handsome young black man who immediately replaced the drink with a smile.

The staff are lovely, very helpful. The place oa clean, enough games to keep you busy for a while. The restaurant is nice, very reasonable prices. The alcoholic drinks at the bar are overpriced but the soft drinks are free. The cash machine inside charges to use it.

New great food menu started today

Visit this venue on occasion, found that it has gone downhill rapidly in a relatively short space of time. Staff seem uninterested and just out for your money. Very little in the way of customer service. The duty manager was even less interested than the staff!!! It felt like a very seedy establishment. I won't be going here again in a hurry, and will go to Sunderland instead.

Went here before Mark Knopfler concert and 2 course deal plus drink for £11.95 was mega value. Food was really tasty, nicely presented and friendly service

Food is OK and a nice selection of slots. It has a good selection of beers and seems a good place to socialise. I think of the small Grosvenor Casinos it ranks well. Similar to Liverpool in terms of size and style. Overall I was quite happy there.

Easy to find. Loads of parking and a high standard of customer service. Recommend.

Friendly staff throughout the place from reception to the cardroom. The cardroom was fairly small and felt a little cramped.

Went with my partner for an evening of drinks and prosecco, had a really good time. The staff were patient when we learned to play games we didn't know and even let us play with demo chips so we could learn without losing. Great time all round, left about break-even so definitely a lucky night.

Been a regular here when visiting Newcastle, was a member here till last night, after our greeting at the door. As we were laughing on the way in we were told that we were "too drunk" and we were refused entry. Very very dissapointed. Will not be returning here again.

Great place to chill and play some card games!

We had to use the facilities in an emergency with an elderly relative who had had an accident and the lady at the door was kind and let us get our mam cleaned up and ready for the road. I hope we cleaned up properly after ourselves but a massive thank you for being a good Samaritan, we were desperate!

Best casino in Newcastle IF you hit it on the right night, so rule of thumb if your looking for a game of poker, call and speak to the card room first! Other tables eg blackjack and roulette are always open. The restaurant is nice, very reasonably priced with a fair selection. Worth a visit on your way into town.

Me and ten friends attend here for pre drinks and a meal I can say staff were amazing and friendly they went above and beyond for us it was amazing time at casino we had brilliant time I will definitely be back again amazing friendly environment we had champagne on entering casino absolutely amazing time we had thank you Grosvenor casino and all your amazing staff

My wife and I visited Grosvenor casino Newcastle on a quiet afternoon.The casino has a nice homely feel about it,and the staff were very friendly.I would definitely go back.

Me and my partner made reservations through trip advisor as is had an excellent rating, unfortunately when we got there, no sign that we had made a booking but showed the booking email confirmation and they managed to make seats available for us with it not being our error. Very friendly staff, very accommodating and make you feel welcome! Me and my partner had a New Year’s Eve that’s to the staff! A special thanks to Cheryl who made sure we could carry on with our evening disputes the mix up! Wouldn’t defiantly return if we were in the area again! Thanks Grosvenor!

Went to see Whitney Houston tribute, she was amazing. Had Christmas meal and the lady who did service was so helpful, no complaints will go again. Bargain package, food,drink, turn on table and singers performance, fabulous.

Decided to go here for a Gary Barlow tribute night whilst visiting Newcastle. Very well organised evening, perfectly pleasant 3 course meal included in the £20 ticket, nice smallish room which was full, and you have your table for the night.
