Another visit to Scarborough, means another visit to Grind Coffee. Always a warm welcome when Lottie (my pugalier) and I walk through the door, very friendly and polite staff. Great coffee and sausage sandwich, very fresh and tasty not to mention filling. Grind coffee has a shop inside that sells different things, plenty of seating, yesterday was pretty busy but a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere, staff were great, food was great. 10/10. Call in for a cuppa and bite to eat, I recommend a visit here for sure. Everywhere nice and clean, very dog friendly too if like me you travel with your furry friends. Thank you again to all the staff, keep up the good work and we look forward to seeing you all on our next visit.

My Pugalier 🐕. . .

Having not visited this cafe before but hearing some lovely reviews, myself and my husband were looking forward to visiting for a warm coffee on a cold day. The cafe itself is lovely, very tastefully decorated, cosy and the shop is wonderful. However, there was a member of staff working behind the counter with long dreadlocks whom myself and husband found to be very rude and quite hostile to the other members of staff he was working with. He was slamming utensils and cups about, and swearing quite loudly claiming that customers had been rude to him. We'd been sat here for some time at this point and hadn't witnessed any such behaviour from any customer sat in the cafe. A young girl then came into work and she began crying as the gentleman working behind the counter had seemingly upset her. It's such a shame this happened as the 3 ladies working were so wonderful and welcoming. We cannot fault the food, the cafe or the other members of staff at all, the rest of the service we received was more than excellent. We were, however let down by this experience and the gentleman on shift this day.

By far the best coffee shop we have visited in Yorkshire. I am currently on holiday in Whitby and I have taken my Mother with us (who is a very fussy coffee lover) we have been so disappointed all week on our search for a good coffee shop all over Yorkshire however we stumbled upon Grind when visiting Scarborough. THE best coffee we have potentially ever had! Such a friendly, warm and inviting atmosphere. Comfortable seating and the ladies were very kind and welcoming to my dog also. Thank you so so much, I genuinely wish I could take you home with me! (Bogue the Bulldog said to say thank you very much for his tasty treat too)

This actually looks like a small shop when entering but is actually a very nice coffee shop. Prices are reasonable and they are proper baristas serving very good drinks. Meals are lovely and our granddaughter rated the pancakes highly and she has had a few,bit of a connoisseur, and our toasties were great. It is a bit cramped but it works and the service is extremely friendly and quick. Definitely worth a visit but not for large groups.

Such a lovely friendly atmosphere. We felt welcomed as soon as we walked in. It’s our second visit and it was as good as the first. We just had cold drinks, a toaster bagel and a gluten free blackcurrant crumble but it was delicious. They staff were so kind to our cockapoo Ivy. They bought her a puppacino, bowl of water and when I mentioned that she loved sausage out came a bowl of chopped sausage. Fabulous coffee shop with awesome staff

Fantastic Café!! The coffee was amazing, I had to have 2 lattes whilst I was there. The food was fabulous too and when we visit Scarborough again, we will return to sample the lovely coffee and food again. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the café is dog friendly and they made a 'Puppachino' for our 2 dogs who loved them. Very highly recommended!!

My husband and I visited this delightful, independent coffee shop in September over 5 days. It also supports local, small businesses with sales of assorted items. The cafe is very cosy and clean and provides some very comfortable seating. A great place to enjoy coffee and snacks and leisurely conversation .All staff particularly Robie and Ben who served us were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We had to return many times to work our way through the variety of delicious flavoured lattees. We would highly recommend this comfortable and friendly coffee shop when visiting Scarborough.

I just wanted to give a big shout out for this business. Me and my mum visited today along with my little dog Mabel. All the staff we spoke to were really friendly and welcoming to us and due to a really awful set of circumstances (which turned out really well on one hand as we ended up spending a lot more time than anticipated in this shop!) we couldn’t have picked a better place to visit for a good chunk of time! We were initially only going in for a coffee but in the end we also had further drinks and the freshly made cheese and chutney with home made coleslaw was fab! Mabel also enjoyed her ‘puppaccino’ - in between naps! There was also plenty of local products to browse from artwork to handmade soaps. Well worth a visit! Will definitely be back next time we are in Scarborough!

This was our second visit this week after a really nice experience on our first visit. The food and service on the first visit was excellent. We noticed that they did an afternoon tea for 2 so we visited the coffee shop again today. We arrived a few minutes before 2pm and we were charged £25.90 for the afternoon tea. The offer of £17.95 started at 2pm. When I questioned the young lad serving he stated that the offer of £17.95 for 2 people is only available at 2pm. This was a couple of minutes before 2pm. And he just turned round and said nothing I can do, it’s before 2pm and you can see the big clock. No apology, no refund just bad attitude. I was absolutely appalled at the response. It ruined the afternoon tea and we won’t be retuning. Such a shame after our wonderful visit on Monday.

Found this lovely place quite by accident and so pleased I did. There's a lovely relaxed atmosphere and very pleasant staff. I had a ham & cheese panini which came with a small fresh salad and homemade coleslaw and tortilla chips. Absolutely delicious and so was the coffee I ordered. Very reasonably priced and thoroughly enjoyed it. Can highly recommend and will certainly eat there again.

This cafe has a good selection of food available including vegetarian and vegan options. The staff are friendly and the food is inexpensive compared with other nearby venues. Although we like the idea of supporting independent artisans by displaying and selling their products, the tone of some of these is inappropriate for what could be described as a family venue.

I'm writing this review so that people understand there is not a cafe or pub tea/beer garden here. It's an open area with a few tables & brollies over and a small covered area for rescue from the elements, & snacks only are served from the stalls. The options are limited, but the food is lovely, though not inexpensive. There's a little kids play area & the waterfall is nearby the house. Public toilets are 2 small wooden shacks with no windows in the gaps, but they are spotless. T.paper, soap, sanitiser is all provided at the little sink in the middle. It's a stunning stunning area at the bottom of a steep bank & there are various forestry walk options nearby. On the day it turned really cold and poured down, so several people were caught out. There are places which wont be easy for those with mobility issues. Keep tight hold of your dogs & children as the walkway is not fenced in & theres a heck of a drop ... its a fab and au naturelle adventure ramble through the woods. Just be prepared more than we were. We thought we could go for a nice walk and then have a nice lunch after, but no that's not the case. Parking is also very limited. It was really busy early on. A few ignoramouses even parked in the passing places, selfish idiots as usual . But in nice weather it would be a proper little sun trap & there is loads of wildlife and birds to spot. the lucky owners of the house there are in a very secluded spot in a beautiful area and have almost become fruitful forest guardians.
