Grasmere Tea Gardens in Hyndburn

Na pitoresca Grasmere a beira de um riacho essa casa de chá apresenta bons lanches , scones , chocolate quente entre outros . Ótimo atendimento.

Cashing in on visitors, as you would expect, but it wasn't great and not great value for money either.

The hot apple cinnamon is delightful with a slice of lemon cake. The views of the gardens and water is something out of a Woolworth poem. Oh wait, he happens to be buried right around the corner.

It's always a happy cafe, great staff good coffee.

Lovely cafe with very friendly and helpful staff

Love the fact that it is dog free. It is so hard to find anywhere, especially in the Lake District, which isn't full of dogs, the problem seems to get worse every time we visit. Lovely tea and cake, beautiful situation, spotlessly clean toilets too.

When your granddaughters say “ Grandad, can we go to that place opposite the Church, we like the food”… you know you’re on to a good place. “No trip to Grasmere is complete without a pop into the Tea Gardens. The view from the terrace of the river and Church is second to none. Brilliant food - this time we had a 67, 30, and 8 year old and the compact menu appealed to all different age groups. Sensibly priced, really great staff “ do you want the outside heater turned on …?” great quality and decent portions of food, fully recommend… I recommend the drinks the sandwiches the soup the cakes the chilli the ice cream the whole place.

Great food and service as always. Staff always feel like they are happy to serve you and nothing is too much trouble. The chilli is amazing as always and the jacket potatoes are large with plenty of filling. Great place by the river opposite the church, just mind the Jackdaws if you're sitting outside. Great place to eat no matter the weather.

Been many times before but was really disappointed that dogs are no longer allowed so will no longer visit. Not sure why they ban all dogs when dogs are the responsibility of the owners. Wouldn't be surprised if this is heavily effecting business as its the only place in the many times we have been to the lakes to ban dogs.

Superb polite smart friendly staff, prices are high end of normal for the area but good location and choice of indoor and outdoor seating.

We just had cups of tea, but really nice little place and the outdoor garden/ terrace bit was sublime. Unless you have a fear of birds. Those Jackdaws are voracious. They will not take no for an answer.

Came here with my partner's family for a quick bite for lunch. I had the jacket potato with the homemade chilli and some cheese. It was lovely, jacket potato was cooked well and the chilli was delicious with a nice kick. It also came with homemade coleslaw which was nice. My partner and her family had different panini's and all said that they were lovely. Staff were friendly, would come here again.

If you ask big prices then I expect goof quality not Cappuccino with no coffee . Unfortunately it was on the go otherwise I would go back.

Lovely setting and very efficient service. Unfortunately the food was a bit pricey and didn't live up to the otherwise high standards! I had a scone which tasted burnt and the jam provided was really bland and a tiny portion!! My husband's sandwich was similar. Would have expected tastier in such an established place!

We had the mozzarella paniek and my daughter had the scone. She thought it was the best scone she had in the holiday. The paninis were nice and the service very fast. Food and drink is really affordable.

A tea garden located in one of the busiest parts of the village with an outside terrace by the river overlooking the Oswald Church. That's why they seemed to always be very busy and full. It would be a perfect place to take a break or quick bite to eat if they could improve their food. The sandwiches and drinks we had here, imho, were at best of supermarket quality though the service was very quick. Our drinks arrived while I was still at the counter settling the bill. All in all, a four star rating because of the environment. Don't expect too much for the food.

Tranquil setting. Terrace is right above the river. Visited twice during my stay and can recommend both the scones and the apple pie!

One of the best spot to enjoy your coffee and a sandwich. They have a really cute outdoor space right on the river with a view of the church and a bridge. Food was average, however staff is really helpful and service is quick.

The cafe was cute, the two guys were lovely and friendly, unfortunately the waitress just dumped our scone and coffee on a try without a word to us which I found quite rude! The scone was simply dry and I needed a hacksaw to cut it, it’s a good job I had butter and jam! The coffee was nice though. Wouldn’t rush to go back.

Great location, terrible sandwiches (white and brown cheap supermarket sliced bread) for the price of £7.30-7.50. Paninis were good.

Great atmosphere, service was very quick and food temperatures were spot on. Got a Cumberland sausage sandwich, which was beautiful. Then got a Latte (asked for single shot tasted like a triple shot) and a lemon cake which was superb! Overall great experience!

Been here today had a lovey lunch we had turkey and cranberry Panini Panini toasty and pot of tea staff helpful. Will be back again around next visit to Grassmere.

Tourist rip off in my opinion, food was mediocre, expensive and overall not a great experience

Popped into this delightful tea room whilst visiting Grassmere. Such a lovely location. I recommend sitting outside if the weather is dry, watch the fish in the river and listen to the church bells as they chime. So peaceful. Lovely friendly and helpful staff, food was amazing and served very quickly. Finished off with an ice cream to take away. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely tearooms with an outdoor covered terrace by the river. The view of the river and church is idyllic and we thoroughly enjoyed coffee and a tea cake and a beer. The staff are particularly nice and welcoming.

We stopped here for coffee after a circular walk from Grasmere to Rydal and back. It was a nice spot to sit outside in the sunshine. The patio area is nicely done with a clear roof so it the weather is not great you could still enjoy the nice spot by the river and bridge. A very nice location and feel to this cafe. I'd be happy to return for a meal on a future trip.

We were going to grasmere and I had seen the reviews for the tea garden and thought it looked idyllic , we went around 1.30pm it was busy but the waitress told us to wait 5 mins and we could get a seat on the terrace , it did not disappoint , food was lovely and a reasonable price , service was excellent , I would defos hold out for the terrace it’s such a tranquil setting

Very good breakfast. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty.

Very nice lunch. My wife had a jacket potato with chilly which was substantial and tasty. I had a sandwich and a cup of soup both of which were very nice. An additional plus is that because of earlier problems they do not allow dogs in. We do find that in most cases dogs are kept under control but increasingly people are now taking 2 (or even more) dogs into cafes and have experienced a number of occasions where control has been lacking.

We stopped here after walking around the village. Usually very busy we were able to grab a table outside overlooking the river and church to enjoy a hot drink and a slice of cake. Lovely area outside and both drinks and cake hit the spot.

Went in here with my daughter while waiting for the bus. Staff were immediately helpful and found us a table. We had a window view of the river out the back. This place has an ideal position with a terrace overlooking the river to St. Oswald's Church. Unfortunately, the coffee served was poor and flavourless - not what we expect these days when so many outlets serve first-class coffee.

Had to wait a short while for a table, then we were led to a prime spot on the terrace overlooking the river and church. You place your order at the counter with the helpful staff and it then arrived promptly from friendly waitress. Visited on Tuesday 18th May 2021. After walking from Grasmere to Rydal Mount and back we stopped off at this tea room. There was space on the veranda area which was wonderful and tbh the main selling point for the tearooms. We only had a cake and a beer but the atmosphere was lovely and the price though not cheap, wasn't so expensive to feel like a rip off though this location is quite touristy.

Heading for Baldry's when we came across the GTG. Short queue but extremely efficient and they soon found us a table on the terrace. It was very busy but on another day it would be good to sit by the river, looking over at the church.The service here is first class. I had a Chocolate Duo Flapjack as I really needed the calories for our big Rydal walk ahead. It was calorific and delicious. I can vouch for the sticky Ginger cake too!This is on the list for our next staycation in August.
