More than a bit disappointing. Egg sandwich - okay; thin piece of ham and lettuce sandwich - hmm; cream cheese sandwich - really? The scones were good and the cakes were okay but the pot of tea was watery and when we asked for a top-up we were changed for an extra two pots on the basis we were a couple. Shan't bother again.

We visited here for afternoon tea. On entry there was no staff to greet us (all busy working) and we had no idea whether to wait or serve ourselves. We waited for 5 minutes until I approached someone. We had made a booking and they clearly had no knowledge of this. The ambiance of the tearoom is pleasant and there is indoor and outdoor seating. The food was prepared individually and there was a good selection of sandwiches and cakes. Portions were generous and the prices were reasonable.

I visited the Mills yesterday whilst visiting a friend and felt I couldnt let my experience go by without writing a review. I visited the tea rooms and although it was very pleasant it was the end of my meal that made it most memorable. I waited at the table whilst my partner popped to use the facilities. At this point I should mention that I suffer with anxiety and am not great at speaking to people and being in unknown environments on my own. A lovely jolly lady (I think she name was Charlotte - sorry if I got that wrong she had ginger hair) popped over to clear our table and chatted with me to see if we had had a nice visit. She was so lovely asking us all the standard questions did you enjoy your meal etc Im guessing she could tell I was getting a little anxious and so bent down next to me and placed her hand on mine and just started talking to me. Before I knew it I was telling her that we were in the area visiting friends for a few days and she gave me some great ideas of places to visit locally that might be of interest. This lady made me feel great I left the tea rooms thinking about other places we could visit over the next few days. I will definately be back before we head off home to see this lady again and to tell her what we have been up to and to thank her for taking what she probably thought was a minute out of her day give me the confidence to enjoy my long weekend.

Ready to place my order to which she snapped “not serving food” and got back to her cleaning. Disappointed as we could’ve been told this earlier when entering the cafe and without unsettling a 2 month baby. Never mind the cleaning, the Customer service skills need sprucing!!

As we only wanted something to put us on until we got home we decided to have a sandwich between us. Not being mean but the thought of paying near £10.00 for 2 sandwiches soon took the edge of our hunger. We ordered 1 egg and cress sandwich, 1 tea and 1 small latte. Total cost well over £8.00. The Sandwhich came with sides of a few (very few)crisps and a small (indeed tiny) amount of coleslaw. All poorly presented on an oversize rectangular plate.

You get 3 little quarter sandwiches (not even 2 full slices bread), a mini and I mean mini scone, plus 2 tiny tiny cakes. Plus a pot of tea, all this for £10. However if there are 2 people its £17.95. Oh and you get some bits of fruit...yes fruit. Look at the menu, for maybe £1 more you can get a full size scone pot of tea and a club sandwich with chips. I'm just making the point that the afternoon tea is terrible value and not very good. Youd be better off buying the cream tea and a sandwich

We’ve been eating at the Tea Rooms for a few years and always enjoyed the food and the staff were fabulous. The Tea Room are now run by a different company and it shows in every way. Sadly not in a good way. On a recent lunch there my partner found a hair in his sandwich which we reported. The second time we went I had a toasted sandwich. First it was just one & half rounds of bread as opposed to 2 rounds that was previously served. The bread looked like it was from a small loaf too so for the price it was a miserly portion. My partner had a prepacked ham sandwich which was shamefully stingy too, with very cold & dry bread. Sandwiches were previously prepared on site, always fresh and so much better. The staff it has be said are fine but the sandwiches are not. Shame because we used to enjoy going there for lunch.

Tuna sandwich was pretty horrendous and dry. The only bit that was good was the tomato soup. Only reason this isn’t a 1⭐️ rating is because the staff were lovely. Avoid eating here

My fiancé had the Tuna sandwich which had plenty of filling. Coffee's were very good and more importantly hot enough they were still reasonably warm by the time we finished eating, it's a little bug bear of mine I like to drink my coffee while waiting for my meal and also hope it stays warm enough to drink throughout the meal so a big thumbs up for the coffee. Sweets were very good, plenty to choose from, we had these later after walking round the mill, bonus being you can get a refill coffee for just 99p on return to the Terrace with your till receipt. This place looked like a lovely 'airy' place to have lunch whilst out shopping at Oswaldtwistle Mills. Both of us were hungry, after driving round spending a considerable time trying to find a place to park (it was manic even on a Thursday afternoon). This place was the first place we arrived at after entering the Mills. We ordered a ham, cheese and chicken tartlet & fries (£6.95), a club sandwich and fries (£6.20) , a cappuccino and a pot of tea. On the positive side, the staff were pleasant, the place was clean and the drinks were good value, but to be honest, we didn't think the food represented good value for money (given what we've received for a similar price elsewhere). On the food quality side, the tartlet tasted like a cheap supermarket tartlet, a salad (which could have done with more colour than just green) and the fries were just a small pot of fries. The club sandwich (which my husband opted for) came with a medium sized dish of fries - so we ended up sharing the fries between us. Another customer received a larger portion of fries with the same club sandwich choice, so maybe its down to who is putting the meals together in the kitchen? Either way, the portion sizes could do with being looked at properly. The club sandwich was just average (we've had better). Maybe there are better choices to go for when dining here?

Wanted to treat my M-in-L to a brew and cake. We went with a scone with cream and jam. Nice enough. Scones were a tad on the dry side BUT the cream and jam gave moisture. Would recommend the atmosphere too. Lovely decor. Will return.

Been a couple of times now, both weekend and weekday. Very good service and quality food & beverage. We sat in the outside covered area, gets warm in the sun (a rarity in East lancs I know) so leave your woolly jumpers at home ;-pWould recommend.

I had arranged to meet a few friends & their children for morning coffee. Even though I only had a drink, a couple of friends ordered breakfasts & these looked delicious. Nice touch - if you order a second drink then you're just charged £1 refill charge instead of full price. The only negative point I will say is that even though high chairs were provided there was no baby changing facility & I ended up changing my baby on the floor which wasn't ideal. The toilet facility is large & could easily have had a wall fixed changing table fitted.

The Specials Board announced "Baked Potato with Welsh Rarebit with bacon" I had to ask three times and point to the board before the waitress understood what I wanted - then she had to ask a colleague what I meant! When the meal arrived the potato looked like it had been overlooked the previous day then reheated in a microwave - the rarebit was actually just some melted cheese and there were two tiny pieces of cheap bacon - the salad garnish was limp

I go here regularly with members of my family. The ambience is always just right with gentle background music and the serving staff welcoming and they always have a nice smile. Food is fresh and delicious. The cakes are scummy and the afternoon tea is a very special treat.

A young waiter served me and my family today and was so respectful towards us. Offered to carry trays over even when busy and kept coming over asking if everything was alright and if there was anything he could get us. Will defiantly be returning again with friends and family. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Was disappointed with this Tea Room, not enough staff serving and service was very slow. It was mid morning one member of staff serving another stocking up. Order was placed, my wife asking if she could have a tomato and cheese toasty instead of the ham and cheese, was advised she could. The tea and crockery were very nice but when the food arrived low and behold a ham and cheese toasty arrived. When the waitress was asked about this she replied well I did write it down and walked away.Talking of the waitress, server, from the time she came on duty she continually chewed gum, even taking orders from people at the counter she continued to chew. Does management allow this? I also noticed one lady come in from the annex and ask for the dirty utensils to be moved so they could get a table.Sorry Ossie Mills don't think I will be in a hurry to ere visit you.
