The Commercial Hotel in Hyndburn

Love the atmosphere but the food is atrocious. Had baked potato and chilli. 2 teaspoons of congeeled chilli. The potato was OK. I've had this meal at another Wetherspoons and it was good

The food is good n service BUT heating isn't we are regularly customers and tonight noticed how many had their coats on it was freezing apparently its broken but been like this for a few weeks.

The food was lovely and warm. Bar staff was very pleasant. The only problem is that work people calling for a few drinks were effing and jeffing at the top of their voices so everyone could hear. It's not very good for business.

Been several times this year and must recommend it . The food has always been good and the staff are really friendly . It is a pleasure to go there when we are shopping . Breakfast is served until 12 so often drop inn for brunch . The outside is particularly nice and the flower pots are really lush .Prices incredible. Would recommend

Pleasantly surprised by this place. We were very hungry and couldn't find anywhere else to eat. Two ladies recommended this hotel and they were correct. The fish and chips were beautiful. Reasonably priced and very good value for money.

This isn’t another Wetherspoons, this is Accrington’s Wetherspoons, the customer service here is exceptional. Especially Andrew; who is hard-working, friendly, attentive, polite. By far the best Wetherspoons employee I have ever met, give Andrew a promotion, he deserves it!

Popped in as we were passing through, brekkie was good as always is at Wetherspoons but the service was impeccable. Very polite staff and a super helpful young man. Enjoyed our visit

Had a lovely meal at the Commercial Hotel/Weatherspoons. I love the historical town pictures and overall atmosphere. Our server Andrew was very helpful when we inquired about a souvenir to bring back to Canada. Service was fast and friendly. The food was perfect in every respect. We will be going back before our trip is over!

Can’t go wrong with a Wetherspoons breakfast and this is no exception. The food is good, no issues at all. Plenty of choice and you can make changes with no hassle. Plenty of sauces to choose from Friendly helpful staff The interior is a bit tired but it’s ok , plenty of seating that ranges in size Parking can be found around Accrington with a short walk here

Place looked quite old from the outside however once inside it has that typical wetherspoons feel, with 90% probably having a meal.. Called in about 11:30am and it was already quite busy. Ordered both food and drinks using the app and both arrived pretty quick considering how busy it was..

Good town centre Spoons. The usual three pints with breakfast customers were all on! The toilets are only up one flight of stairs for a change.

My sister lives in Accrington and I took her for a meal there. The Mixed grill at 12 pounds 91 pence displayed drinks included – they were not. I was charge 43 pence for each of two drinks. I also complained about the powdered instant potato, this was ignored so I assume they do use this. First I complained to Wetherspoons, on their complaint site which they prefer calling the feedback site. After a lengthy delay I received this reply from someone called Callie.  Having looked into this, it would appear that you have been correctly charged. This is due to the fact that our promotional offers have different prices based on your chosen drink being alcoholic or non-alcoholic. For example, a Mixed Grill at The Commercial Hotel costs £11.44 with a soft drink, or £12.91 with an alcoholic drink. As your chosen beverages were a half pint of Guinness and a half pint of Stella Artois, you were charged the higher of the two.  We hope this helps confirm your enquiry, and apologise if this does not seem clear at the time of ordering. Your concerns regarding this have been noted and will be looked into and addressed internally.   Kind regards,  Callie I answered: Madam  Nowhere on the menu did any mention of a charge for drinks on a set meal of mixed grill, which stated includes a drink, was shown - we looked. There was a stipulation some drinks were not included, but Guinness and a Stella were not among them. I see you did not mention anything of powdered potato being served. I suggest you send a unannounced agent to their kitchen to search for powdered potato. You will find it.. By the way, they never put their TV on, which indicates to me a dedication to run matters as easy as they can to their benefit. I asked that they put the TV on during another visit - they did not. No further answer from Callie or Wetherspoons In conclusion: Avoid this place, it also seems my complaint joins a list of many others.

Very average wetherspoons, easy parking across road. Nothing good or bad.

We have visited many Wetherspoons in our travels but the Commercial in Accrington is the worst one we have had food in. We sent our meal back and got our money back but we would rather have a nice meal It is our local otherwise we would never go again

The food if I'm honest was a bit grim. Chips cold and clearly an attempt at reheating . American burger on the smallest bap. Mixed grill was tiny and meat was overdone and dry. The only saving grace was the price of drinks.

Reliable food at a very good price. Toilets immaculate. Unfortunately a lot of customers are not. Probably more food on the floor than on plates. This despite the overworked and underpaid staff doing what they could to cope. Mr Martin needs to spend more on his staff and staffing than seeking publicity

This is a light in a very very dark tunnel if wanting a choice of hand pumped ales when visiting accrington This pub serves a ample amount of handpumped ales nice pleasant staff and it has a strong local following who eat and drink in here Tuesday 8th August 2023 We revisited this weatherspoons good staff busy clean interiors Their beers were well kept In Accrington, one of only 5 real ale pubs/clubs worth visiting can get a bit lively towards evening times

Great place for us to stop in for a wine and a pint. It's located close to the market Square and not to far from where we are staying. We also had a small chips.

Called in for a light breakfast, nice atmosphere, only downside was tables could have been cleared and cleaned, lots of plates, glasses left on tables and the ones empty could have done with a good wipe down, sticky and food stuck to them, food arrived, oh dear, breakfast muffins with an extra hash brown, absolutely stone cold, to say the hash has been deep fried it should of been top temperature, the plate was warmer than the food!! Cold egg, sausage, not good, definitely not probed for temp before leaving kitchen, should of sent them back but had an appointment so couldn't hang around, won't be rushing back

Standard spoons, standard service polite enough. Full of teenage kids messing about and weird locals.

Wednesday night in Accrington Wetherspoons out with three friends, NO Doombar, NO Abbots available so had to drink Guiness. We love our real ales, was very dissapointed. This is not the first time it's happened.

Cheap and cheerful and often busy. Better with a booth seat. It's a bit annoying that people sometimes queue at the bar like a shop til rather than find a place on it, like normal bars.

It's a wetherspoons, what more can you say?! Food and service was standard with no complaints! Atmosphere was ok but not our priority as we wanted to eat and leave to drive 2.5 hours home.

Been here a few times. Weatherspoons breakfast is always yummy and the atmosphere is amazing here.

Brilliant experience. Fast service and great prices. One of the best spoons I've been to. Quite small so it's often difficult to get a table but really good. Attentive servers who are on the ball with clearing tables. Would recommend. You can get a pint for as little as £2.26, or £3.60 for the cheapest decent stuff. Whisky and mixer for as little as £1.71.

Love going for food here very nice

It's a wetherspoon in Accrington, again with the toilet doors having to open inwards to exit the bathroom. I don't want to handle another man's snossage if I did I'm sure I could find someone willing if that's my bag. Seating is limited and cramped, would suggest you make sure your not hungry as you will be waiting

Argyle on tour!! A tricky game tonight. Had a few beers and a meal here before the match. Friendly ladies behind the bar and even cheaper than normal due to this weeks beer festival. Just ridiculous prices! The curry was excellent at a tenner....really no different than going into an Indian restaurant and paying £25. Plenty of locals around and of course lots of Argyle fans....and yes.....we won and went back afterwards for a celebration drink....or two...

Not bad place, quick service, only minor fault was I ordered and paid for an extra bbq sauce on the side after our meals were presented to us but it was never delivered to our table, it was table 35 on Sunday 19th March, other than that it was great.

It is a pleasant, but busy Wetherspoons. We had our coffee outside, but could smell the cigarette smoke from near the doors. Otherwise, a pleasant place to visit.

i came here with my boyfriend hoping for a nice stay but when i ordered a bowl of garden peas, a balding round-headed man shouted at us and refused to give us our peas. i will not tolerate this and won’t be returning!!

Excellent staff couldn't do enough for you. Rooms big and bed warm and comfortable. Also very quiet corridor no noise heard at night. Would come back.

The choice of food is excellent and it was very enjoyable. The staff were friendly and attentive. Price wise it was excellent value for money. The place was clean and finished tables were sorted and cleaned within minutes of customers leaving.

Even though I detest the guy who owns all the spoons you can't knock the price of the beer and they're usually clean and tidy. I've been in worse ones than this.

Just called in after coming from hospital. Received a warm welcome from bar staff. Quality meal ( with drink ) at reasonable price, once again served by friendly staff.

My ultimate favourite place to eat i hope they never stop doing the proper stonebaked style pizza thats so hard to find the cocktails also are amazing and my child loves it here too surprisingly (as they dont really have child facilities) and ate up all her kids meal i loved that they didnt make a fuss when we ordered food while drinking bubble tea from the place next door some people would be annoyed about outside food or drink but its nice to be nice and i come here almost every special occasion had my 21st here i take any opportunity to come here and i will come here for my next birthday dont change! (Unless you make disabled friendly toilets)

I wouldn’t recommend the visit, every time we come items are forgotten off plates, they don’t have a sauce or an ingredient, they turn the hot drinks machine off when they feel like it leaving you without the refills so get your hot drinks before staff start feeling “tired” as they “need to clean it every night” they serve hot food until 11pm and regularly turn the hot drinks off at 9pm rarely has sugar for the hot drinks and come tonight to find out they’ve got no milk, so in the freezing cold all elderly customers get a free COLD drink instead …. The place is a joke, a general feel of the staff don’t care about the place it’s run down and a free for all when it comes to any hot drink you find on the menu,

We visit many Wetherspoons in our time and some are better than others. The Commercial pub Accrington is local to us and is a very lively atmosphere. The food is one of the worst we have had in a Wetherspoons. I know they all serve the same food but it is more often than not luke warm. I had a Paninni in the Postal Order and it was delicious so I got one next time I went to Accrington. It was like eating cardboard. We have sent food back many times but it never improves. Think we will eat somewhere else in future and just go in there for drinks which is a shame really

I ordered beans of toast and I got burnt toast and it was not just a bit burnt it was black ! I sent it back and got a new one and this was better

Is what it is, A Spoons beer was the same, ordered online, except I couldn't get Mango chutney with my ham and eggs So, not all Spoons are the same.. Everything else, passed with flying colours. Otherwise, no complaints

Went there just yesterday, even though I’ve been a few times it’s actually really nice. The reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is because their cheesy garlic pizza is just a tortilla with cheese. Very unimpressed for £4.75 Other than that -Staff are great, very clean and prompt. Bathroom was clean too. P.S. it was a Tuesday

My first visit at this Weatherspoons & I was very happy😃. I quickly phoned up to check if still serving food as I needed a very late tea, Food served until 11pm Sun night, fantastic! Quickly downloaded the App on arrival, ordered food/drinks from our table, & promptly served. I had Strawberries/lime Cider/Simply Curries Beef Madras with Pilau Rice/Cookie Crunch(New on menu)@£1.55 all excellent taste, portions size was fab, definitely worth the money, all under £10!!. I'll be back again soon 😁

Poor portion sizes and for what was received it is extremely over priced, when the dish was taken back to the staff they stated that it was the correct portion the 6oz American burger was more like a single cheese burger from McDonald's definitely nowhere near 6oz and I received almost no chips with my dish I can hapily say I will never be attending that ws again. Recommend 0%
