Pappous Greek and Grill in Hyndburn

Got a chicken Gyro wouldn’t buy one again. Chicken looks like a scab, crunchy and dry as anything. Been here before and it was mint but this time nah.

You can get a superb English Breakfast here at the weekends any size and all options are possible. Eggy bread on the side is delicious. Service is friendly and swift. Even better as the coffee is on the house when you eat inside.

The food is amazing and reasonably priced, however they could make it abit more Greek inside in terms of the decor and atmosphere, instead of listening to capital radio whilst you’re eating your meal. The restaurant was really cold, and could have done with some heating as we was shivering whilst eating our meal. But I wouldnt say I won’t go again,

Just ordered the breakfast, although the food was lovely we were missing an egg, a slice of black pudding and sent white toast instead of brown. I know it's a new venture and mistakes happen, hopefully they take more care next time 😊

I ordered a delivery Gyros and Baklava... it took a bit of sorting to pay them online, but the food was delivered in good time. It was beautifully wrapped in special paper to keep it warm. I enjoyed it and was lovely to eat Greek food... not had for a long time and brought back good memories. Even the delivery man was really pleasant. I'll be trying again. Thank you 😊

Orders for collection are never ready on time. They start when you get there. And not when your delivery time is scheduled.

5 stars entirely, the food is always delicious and fresh. Ive never had one bad experience coming or ordering pappous. When inside of the restaurant it’s very cosy, great atmosphere and very lovely staff! If you’re unsure of trying this place or ordering don’t be! Best Greek food in town

I asked for chips and meat.. was told I had to have loaded chips. I said I don't want cheese or bbq sauce. Got me loaded chips, which were ....................... Chips with meat.. what's the difference I hear you ask!!! £1.50 dearer!!! Anyway the food was OK. It hasn't put me off going a 2nd time... Staff were friendly.

Not good, cold food on cold plates in a cold restaurant. Service terrible and couldn't even be bothered to say thanks or bye. Don't no what takeaway is like but in house Please don't eat here waste of money What happened to traditional Greek food. Just another kebab shop!!!

Don’t usually bother with reviews but credit where credit is due. Ordered the stack burger with chips and it’s the best burger that I’ve had from a takeaway for a long time. The fries alone were a cut above most places, And the beef burger, chicken and pork combo, on a brioche bun with mozzarella cheese and bbq sauce was so good that I decided to write this review. Was piping hot on arrival, Would definitely order it again 👍

I can tell this place has new owners or staff because the chicken Gyros I normally order is tasty chicken with fresh sauce/salad and chips… this one was chewy chicken like it was from the bottom of the grill, the chips were over cooked and my delivery took exactly 1hour and 10 minutes. Unfortunately it was so bad I have been put off spending this sort of money again and ordering to receive the same type of food again. Such a shame, the staff on the phone were nice though I cannot fault them

For me personally the best food by a mile I’ve dined in but usually have it delivered never disappointed the big Pappos mixed gyros is superb and filling. When you ring through the staff are always friendly and polite and speedy delivery really good food and service.

We have had takeaways and eaten in and it has always been great. First one since alleged sale. Absolutely awful tonight. Delivered 50 minutes after we were informed would be delivered. Cold when it arrived and extremely salty. Threw over half in bin. Shame as normally good. Won’t be wasting our money again !

Reserved table for 7pm on a Friday. We were asked to go up to the till to pay for the meal before finishing our food. I also wanted a desert but was refused as they wanted to close eaely - early 2 hours early. Terrible service. Do not recommend. What a horrible evening.

Food was okay. The grilled meat is especially tasty. However, when we went in asking for a table, we got the distinct impression we were not wanted, service was not friendly, 😭 spoiled the evening

I was looking for good food in Accrington, I found Pappous Greek Grill, delicious food, friendly service, meals for children, I highly recommend

Don't be put off by the outside. Once inside and food ordered and delivered it is very tasty and well presented

Visited yesterday, booked a table for 5 upon arrival we told them we had a booking for 5 and was looked at in a confused manner. Anyhow we sat at a table and ordered food and drink after 5/10 minutes. And was told the milkshake machine was down after waiting about 15 minutes for drinks. In the meantime the front door was left open and it was getting late so it was chilly and 2 of our group ended up going back to the car for coats. It took 90 minutes for food to arrive which wasn't acceptable, all whilst there were only 4 other people in the restaurant (2 groups of 2). When food did come it all came separate so some of us had half ate our food whilst others were still waiting and we realised we had no cutlery so we had to take it from another table. The food was good we were all impressed but it wasn't worth the wait especially at £22 per head for the mixed grill. Upon leaving 2 really rowdy lads came into the restaurant being extremely loud and just wandering in and out of the kitchen which didn't leave a good impression and left us wondering what they were doing in there. Anyhow all in all we were all slightly disappointed but the food was good.

After waiting over an hour for delivery I tried ringing directly to be hung up on several times after the young girl answering the phone was not interested in my order Then to be told I was hung up on for swearing and shouting down the phone of which I did neither Absolute shambles, no food and shocking customer service would not recommend

Fantastic food, large portions and friendly staff - what could you want more? Highly recommend this place! Can’t stress enough how good the food is, plus they offer takeaway as well, perfect for a night in 👌🏽

Ordered the 2 gyros; 2 chips and 2 drinks for 16.95. Brilliant deal!!! The Gyros was fantastic. The chicken melted in your mouth and the tzatziki complemented it very well!! The dining area looks intimate and we will be sure to pay it a visit sometime soon!!! 😃 Thanks 🙏🏻

Amazing food well worth the food amazing waitress

Just ordered from Pappous for the first time having driven past it hundreds of times. We ordered the mixed grill between two of us and we are properly stuffed. The meat was fresh and well cooked, juicy, not greasy. Delicious hot pittas, fresh Greek salad, plenty of high quality feta, with fresh homemade hummus and tzatziki. I have not been to Greece in years but that definitely took me back

What a nightmare, the place was freezing and seemed to be a hang out for the local kids, 15 minutes to get drinks and order food ended up paying for the drinks then walked out in disgust, I will never return 😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠

Finally a good Greek street food in Lancashire...well done guys!!!

So we decided to finally try this place tonight after seeing an offer online. £14.95 for x2 drinks, x2 chips and x2 gyros. We went for the chicken gyros and also had an halloumi starter. The food was amazing. Each and everyone of us loved it and all said we’d happily come back and pay full price. Inside was lovely and clean. We would highly recommend this restaurant. I would have gladly given 5* had It not been for the moment on our arrival. I’d dropped my disabled mum at the doors then indicated to park directly across the road so it’d be easier for her to get in the car before a women ignored my indicating, parked up and told me to f*** off. I shook my head and We went in the restaurant for her to follow behind and walk into the kitchen. Obviously a member of staff. RUDE! However, we tried not to let this ruin our evening and it didn’t. Food made up for that moment.

We finally got the chance to visit here tonight and wow we weren’t disappointed. The lovely, friendly staff gave us a warm welcome and were great throughout our meal. Food absolutely delicious. We got sheftalia, halloumi and 2 x chicken gyros. Everything was cooked to perfection. We will be returning, every week if I get my own way!

awesome hidden gem, with not so expensive cypriot food, woth a try

The food is good but Oh Dear they have terrible service. Ordered twice from them once for pick up, went to collect at the time given and wasn't ready, told to wait in the car and they would bring it out. 25 minutes passed then went in, they had forgotten about me. We tried again on a 2nd order for delivery, ordered at 5.30pm, told delivery would be at 7pm, never turned up at all, no phone call from them, no answer on there phone when we tried to chase up. We had ordered food for my 6 year old also so hurriedly had to make him something after we realised we had been let down. Needless to say, we will never order from there again.

Been a couple of times now, on the latest visit they now have a drinks license which is great. The food really is very good, at very reasonable prices

Booked a birthday meal for 14 people giving the order in advance so they new what we were having. We had to wait 1hr and 40 mins for the food and we had 4 under 5s there trying to keep them occupied. Absolutely gutted been waiting along time to try this place out.

First time of ordering from here. Ordered chicken gyros- wow! Food was amazing. Fresh and beautifully cooked. Delivery driver so friendly - can not fault this place. Will 100% be ordering again.

Fantastic food and fantastic service. Had a takeaway from here before but decided to sit in the restaurant the last visit. No faults at all and exceeded expectations.

Food was excellent, realy delicious especially stuffed fries with pork, service was brilliant, the only thing that you could improve on is to sell alcohol but it's good that you can bring your own which makes it Makes it a cheap night out. lol🤣

Excellent food, ordering takeaway was a little frustrating.

Went to Pappous to try something different and was amazed at the quality of my food. I ordered a stack burger which looked absolutely mouth watering and tasted 10/10. The burger was delicious and cooked to perfection!!! I would definitely recommend as the service was excellent and the waitress' was soo friendly and lovely and catered to my every need. Definitely returning to try more things on the menu and to see lovely, smiling faces. 11/10.

21/04/21 was the second time ordering from Pappous as we were so impressed first time round, unfortunately we were disappointed this time as we was made to wait 2 hr 20 mins for our food to arrive. We placed our order 19.31 and I rung the restaurant at about 21.15 to see how where our food was and how long it would be, they lady on the phone told me it was the next one to be delivered and would be 10/15 minutes. Fast forward 35 minutes when it did actually arrive, making it 21.48. Fuming to say the least as I don't understand why the restaurant would still continue to take orders when they can't meet customer demand. I plated up our food and the chips were barely warm and could tell they weren't freshly fried as they were barely edible, resulting them going into the bin. The kebab itself was okay and just about warm but not as good as first time round, safe to say we won't be rushing back to re-order and definitely wasn't worth the £25 we spent.

This was one of my favourite places, however after tonight I'll take my business elsewhere. We ordered and paid just after 5pm for a 6:15 collection. I arrived promptly to see numerous other cars parked up, obviously waiting. I went in to see lots of tickets waiting, and I was told 10 minutes and to wait in my car and it would be brought out. I went out and text my wife that there was no way it would be 10 minutes, but closer to 30. However, I remained optimistic that maybe because we'd ordered for a certain time, ours would be moved up the list. Alas, no. 47 minutes later, I went in and collected my order. There was another customer in there complaining about the wait. There were excuses about Just Eat, their website, and the phone lines, to the point they'd turned the phones off. I understand that delays happen, but 47 minutes? That's totally unacceptable especially with the 10 minute wait rubbish. I'm not sure if by ordering through their website and getting a 15% discount was the wrong thing to do. They'll obviously prioritise Just Eat orders to get more money. They did however compensate me sitting outside in an idling car by giving me a single can of coke. That was 1 can to share between the family of 4. We'll I for one will not be ordering here again. I'll happily travel to Barrowford to collect from another Greek place.
