The Brittania Inn in Hyndburn

We found the service very friendly and the food was delicious. I had the steak and ale pie and it was very tasty well made and packed with meat, The chips were crisp and delicious. Our son had the lamb shank. It was so well cooked that the meat fell off the bone and he really enjoyed it. We would certainly recommend this place for a good hearty meal.

Came here 2017 -19 -22 Every time I visit Durban I have been coming to this restaurant. The food is just great and if I lived in Durban this would be a weekly visit for sure. I only wish I could of stopped here a few more times lunch and dinner however this wasn’t possible. I’ll be back in about 2 years and I’m already looking forward to visiting again.

Family of 5 , ordered starters meals and kids meals , asked for kids to come with starters , after half hour 1 kids meal came , then 10 mins later 1 starter came soup with barely 2 tablespoons of liquid in , another 10 mins another starter , then had to ask where other kids meals and 1 more starter was , another 10 mins nothing had to ask again and where starter was , manager came over and explained it wasn’t on the order and apologised and offered 2 free drinks , kids meals came , waited another 30 mins before the main meals came out once the starters had been cleared , food tasted lovely but the experience has put us off from returning, another staff member apologised as they didn’t know how busy it would be !! It’s bookings only !

2nd visit here, the food is good standard however the service is absolutely awful, was seated at 17.30 didn’t take our order until 18.00 starters came relatively fast, however had to wait 20 minute for food to be cleared then a further 30 minute for mains during this time I had to go the bar and order my own drinks as there wasn’t a waitress or waiter in site! The food is good but they really need to up there customer service skills before they end up with no customers was 5 minutes away from walking out! What was supposed to be a quick nice hour meal turned out to take 2 hours long !! Not easy with a 11 month hungry baby!!

We had to wait for well over an hour due to the restaurant being "busy", but only a handful of people were there. Maybe it had been busy and the chef had run out of enthusiasm as the food was not good. I had Cajun Salmon which looked tired and cooked with no imagination. The Salmon was dry and like a brick, veg was like school dinners. My wives chips were brown and limp and quite frankly the worst chips I've had in my whole life! To be fair the lamb shank that my son ordered was ok. The waitress was really nice which is a positive note to end on. I'm disappointed because our first visit gave us nothing to complain about, I hope things improve to their old standard.

Visited the Britannia with the family for Sunday lunch. The place has been refurbished and it looks really nice. The staff are all friendly and polite. We all had a main course which we all enjoyed. The teenagers had burgers adults had fish and chicken all freshly cooked to a very good standard. We didn’t have a dessert as we were all full. We found the menu to have plenty of variety and a very reasonable price. We will definitely be returning soon.

Brill place.lovely staff lovely food.not nocking it all.mains were scalding but starters needed to be hotter.going to order 2 lots of wild mushrooms but will need a full ciabbatta.:)

My friend and I have just visited the Brittania inn and found it a very warming, welcoming unique country pub, we had our lunch there and it was amazing, the menu was very varied and all homemade, the food was exceptional and so was the service, we are already planning our next trip and can't wait to visit the Brittania inn again, especially to dine there, thanks guys for making us feel so welcome

The carvery is a great deal and the Lentil Cottage pie is remarkably delicious! Darren the manager was very kind and helpful to us and really helped us out of a jam. Thanks so much!

At first glance one could be forgiven thinking this is just a country pub, with the same old food and beers, once inside you realise there is plenty of choice, once you have eaten you will fast realise that the food is more than excellent and the service is much the same, well worth going out of your way to visit, I had a fantastic lunch today with friends and exceptional service, sincere thanks to all for making our visit so good
