Gourmet Coffee Bar & Kitchen in Nottingham

A damp and dreary Nottingham morning en route back to Burnley, was made better by the great coffee and conversation provided by “the tall chap” (sorry, we all missed your name - the Everton fan, from Manchester living in Notts!). Will return if in the area 👍

Having some time to kill and fancying something more substantial, I had a coffee and a sausage baguette. The coffee was very average, but the sausage baguette was hot and tasty. At a meal deal price of £5.95 I thought it was all right. The coffee let down the experience. A top notch coffee would have got them at least one higher rating. Nice surroundings and the staff were pleasant and polite.

My twin brother Stephen and I dropped by Goumet Coffee Bar & Kitchen as we were waiting for our train back to Liverpool after a five night stay in Nottingham were we had a fab time . A nice bar ,it looks neat and tidy and staff are absolutely fantastic, I ordered a flat white coffee, my brother went for a cola light ,service was quick and I must say that the coffee was superb, steaming hot,from the first sip till the last sup you can tell they use quality ingredients in their coffee and take great pride in the coffee they serve. We really enjoyed our stay here before catching our train but I must say I really enjoyed visiting this cafe which is easy to locate along Carrington Street in Nottingham Railway Station.

Bought a couple of teas and the guy serving was quite rude, no people skills whatsoever. Me and my girlfriend sat down to drink our teas, as soon as we sat down the same guy that was quite rude serving me started shouting " we're closed you guys have to leave" I was like, mate just bought a couple of drinks and you didn't mentioned anything about not being able to drink then in here, in which he replied " we're closed you have 5 minutes to leave" disgraceful attitude from someone that works a customer service job. If i happen to be in that station again I will definitely not use that cafe.

A single expresso charged at the price of a double with cream with No option in the menu for single as it is everywhere else. I will never use this place again nor I will recommend it.

Called in at 830 on a Friday morning. Really friendly service. Had a bacon baguette & latte, both of which were actually quite good. Prices not bad for a train station either. Would happily return

Positives: good coffee that has a smooth, well rounded taste with no bitterness. Stylish chairs offering plenty of seating. Cons: bit expensive (£3.20 for a large latte). Grumpy looking staff. There was zero warmth from the girl who served me. She clearly hated working there.

I love and try to support independent cafes but you can only give them enough chances before you go else where, I ended up the Jam jar inside the station and it’s not the first time. The shame is gourmet do the best coffee in the station but let down by rude unfriendly staff. If you have lots of competition such as Costa 10 steps away you need more than funny signs to keep customers. So good coffee but rotten service
