Gosling Bridge in Carlisle

Super friendly, efficient staff. Beautiful, reasonably priced food and very dog friendly. With a separate dog menu to order from.Barney loved his rump steak! Sadly, no picture as he practically inhaled it! Would definitely return if ever back in the area.

We Visit Carlisle every month to see family and always call in at the Gosling for lunch or tea as we have been doing for the past 3 years. However, our last 2 visits have been pretty poor, people say you get what you pay for, but whether your paying £10 or £50 for a meal you expect it to be good quality and fit to eat. This weekend it was pretty awful, the flat breads were like cardboard you could snap them, the chicken was dried out and my daughters steal one was even worse, none had the dressing on like the menu photo. The staff who served us were helpful, one of the meals was returned twice and still wasn't edible. The potatoes on the kids meal were hard and again not edible. I hate giving poor reviews but it spoilt our night, not sure what's happened but it's definitely not the same and we won't be returning.

This is our new local after moving into the area and I can honestly say that The Gosling Bridge is a fantastic pub, atmosphere is great and the food is lovely. We haven’t had any problems yet and we’ve been several times, staff seem lovely and always on the go, no sitting around chatting like other greene king pubs we’ve been too in the centre of carlisle 🫣.

Great stop. Quick, efficient and goid fast food. My only complaint was "dogs". 4 Barking madly, but why put two on the damn table.. this is an eating place and dogs should be under the table. Not being fussed and cuddled on top. Staff could not say a thing, considering the people who had them... ruff!!

My salad was old and rotting . The toilets were absolutely disgusting. Filthy. My husbands food was good well cooked . Nice staff quick service

The staff, the atmosphere are good, the food well priced, quick service and very hot but oh dear the toilets need serious attention. The smell from the gents toilets was awful, please get your toilets sorted as it spoils what is a lovely place.

The Goslin Bridge is a very nice pub. The service is friendy, relaxed and attentive. Lots of sport to watch if you want to. Nice area for just having a drink and game of pool

Absolutely shocking to what it used to be. Food was awful, service was terrible, one member in staff in particular was rude and unhelpful. Waiting time was too long. Really dissatisfied and was a complete waste of money.

This place has gone to the dogs. It used to be quite good with prompt service but visited it today. Sadly badly let down. Went to order food to be told forty five minute wait. We just left as did others. Whatsmore the last time I was there if I remember the food fell far short of what it used to be. This place has serious issues. Frankly it was very dirty. A tip in fact. I think the owners have cut back on staff dramatically and from what other friends who also used to go there tell me the food is even worse now. I didn’t await to find out
