Went to the Waitrose for lunch sandwiches which were normal Waitrose quality. The Starbucks however was dreadful. The coffee was burnt and didn’t even taste like coffee - the worst coffee I have had in years!

I have an EV, and stopped at Gordano Services to top up with electricity for my journey South. There was a queue of very angry EV owners - presumably on the way to a holiday resort - for the only charging point working(of two Gridserve Network units). There are now over 1m EV's registered in the UK - 44% Tesla/56% the rest of the world. Tesla has 8 charging points at Gordano, and the rest of the world has only one! the other has has been broken for 4/5 months. Gordano Services is the first Service area on the M5 artery (and M4 link) to the South West - Somerset, Dorset, Devon, and Cornwall. I researched to find out that Network suppliers install, and service free to land owners, and even pay rent...

Wasn’t happy at all, all I ordered was a chicken royale on its on at Burger King and I had a coach to catch, and the server just waltzed up and down getting all the bigger orders ready when he could have just handed me my single food item, in the end I had to abandon my food to catch my coach

Flying from Bristol Airport at lunchtime and living 3 hours + away thought we’d travel a day early to break the trip up. Chose the Ramada as it was ideally situated on the M5 and within an easy drive of the airport. The accommodation was basic but very comfortable and would recommend it. The hotel location was great to explore nearby Portishead.

Fast food more like a slow food restaurant- I’m on tour with my rugby team and am going to miss the bus. Future me I made it by 1 second. When the drinks came out it was water and syrup and the Fanta Frozen Lemonade was not working. That is my only and last Burger King ever.

I've used Gordano services on and off since the M5 opened. I don't think things have improved much. It is clean but cheerless. No art - just empty grey walls. I was hoping to get an 'all day breakfast' - one of the few things that is worth having, but no, it closes at 2000 - early in my book. At those ghastly fast food counters you don't speak to a human - you have to order on an electronic pillar. So soulless too, and not a method I will subscribe to. So - fortunately the one saving grace is a Waitrose. At least I got some real food, though cold (of course) except for a decent coffee. I would say that the customer experience could be very greatly improved with little outlay.

We swerved breakfast at our hotel (wouldn't trust them to boil a kettle) and ended up here for breakfast. We were burger Kings first customer of the day and the food was supreme and cooked to perfection. Reading other reviews, we appear lucky! Based on this experience I'd revisit gordano services.

Agree with previous reviews Burger King is terrible an absolute joke. Service was poor, at 1pm prime time their was one poor guy trying to serve 15 waiting customers. So by the time you got your food it was lukewarm. Also food served looked nothing like the pictures on menu. No salad included in burgers.

I brought my two grand daughters to the services to wait for a meet up with other family members. I ordered two kids hot chocolates and was fairly surprised to see that they came out as £3.60 each! Adult hot chocolates 40p more and twice the volume. I ended up with one adult with some additional milk, split between them and saved myself almost £3. Ridiculously overpriced. Staff showed no interest in my concerns.

Took ages for order to be ready. Drinks had been prepared as soon as ordered so tea had been standing for 15 minutes with the tea bag in it. When order was ready I asked for a fresh tea and was asked if I wanted to check it! No! I asked for and got a fresh tea. Burgers were luke warm. Back to mcdonalds in future

A decent services with some nice options, though our experience was spoiled somewhat when my partner tripped over the crisp ‘baskets’ in Waitrose and hurt their shin. The response was less supportive than I thought suitable and an offer of a free tea from the machine to drop the one they dropped seemed ‘beside the point’.

Stopped at the services at 10:30 for breakfast. The service facilities are good, but queued for breakfast at the good breakfast counter along with a dozen other people. Stood for nearly 30 minutes whist only one server on, the other cooking noodles.then to be told breakfasts are finished. The sign says breakfast all morning, after this the entire queue went to other vendors. And they dont even plate the food just slap it in a box even for eat in. Services get decent vendors!

In difficult times the staff were so professional and so aware of customer needs. In particular Faye and Brooke were two members of staff who went the extra mile. They were polite, courteous and eager to please, they made it an excellent stay.

Under current conditions of covid requirements it was very poor. Tables not cleaned. Service was so slow it took nearly 30 mins to get my KFC order. Numerous orders were wrong..please sort it gordano, this used to be the best services . No excuse to slip so far back.

Visiting starbucks after a very long day we were greated by a young male with a disgusting attitude! The manager was even worse and should be trained properly on how to speak and deal with customers! Especially as the country is going through some very strange times. They are NOT covid friendly and that scared me! Until they sort this issue out I would advise you to stop at another services or get a drink from the garage.

Stopped for breakfast at 9.30am with our baby and 4 year old. What a mistake! Wish we had taken the risk of our baby falling asleep before nap time and driven on to the next services. Hardly anything was open so we couldn’t get the breakfast we wanted, as apparently it all opened at 10am. Which seems very odd for motorway services! And it wasn’t at all clear until we were already inside. The one way system due to Covid made no sense at all so everyone was bumping into each other, areas were blocked off in a way that seemed to defy all logic. The toilets were also chaos. Members of staff were directing us to cubicles that were blocked off and not accessible. Half the toilets were closed for no apparent reason. When my husband went to the gents the toilet was dirty and blocked, and did not lock. The restaurant was even worse. All of the normal height tables were crammed into one small area, with only high stools and high tables as an alternative. As we had a baby in a high chair we needed a lower table. And with lots of older customers needing a lower table as well for obvious reasons we were all sitting far too close together. With the aircon blowing on us, a perfect breeding ground for Covid. Plus empty sanitiser stations at the entrance. And a Covid tracer app which did not work. And rude, unpleasant staff serving us in Starbucks. Basically everything that could be wrong was wrong. Would actively avoid going there again, and I would suggest the manager has a serious look at what they are doing. Not just an unpleasant experience, downright dangerous....

I have to say, I agree wholeheartedly with the previous reviewers. The traffic issues on exiting are not the services fault, and it’s all due to the ongoing roadworks and traffic lights on the junction. However, the car parking is a complete mess. Half of it blocked off, seemingly to provide a one way system that isn’t marked? A good number of spaces were available but it’s difficult to access them, and there were queues of traffic every which way. There was also a Waitrose employee standing and waving traffic round to the right, seemingly completely unaware that actually people may actually want to leave the car park and she was sending them the wrong way and back INTO the jam of traffic trying to park!!Once you have managed to park, the experience doesn’t improve. A confused one way system exists as you enter, and after the barriers end there is then a gaggle of people standing around looking where to go! There’s also a one way system in the women’s toilets, which blocks off half of the number of cubicles and sinks (all along one side!). The toilets were not the cleanest, my cubicle didn’t lock properly, and then there was a huge queue for the sinks as there were so few of them! The queue for the sinks meant that there was no distancing possible at all, as you had to push past people to access the cubicles. The soap dispensers were empty (luckily I always bring my own soap just in case) and the tap sprayed water all down the front of me. In order to get to the exit, you then have to walk through the people queuing to enter to get to there!To be honest, it’s the worst experience of services we have had. We would definitely actively avoid going there again. Luckily we are both fit and healthy adults; if I had previously been in the shielding or vulnerable groups I would be terrified. Covid secure it is not.

Starbucks service worst I have ever experienced, rude can’t be bothered and happy to take ur money and treat you like dirt, talking between themselves and messing up orders they couldn’t even be bothered to get it right and when they did sort it out not an apology, kept the Tosties in our bags but around the side of the plastic barrier so they got forgot about and then pretty much tossed at me, the girl also moaning about how she can’t be on the serving side anymore! Cheers for taking our money and treating us like dirt I suppose we are in unpredictable times so service has to be forgotten about.

Quick stop at these services for loos on route to Cornwall. Good queuing in and out of the main building for social distancing in place but car park was complete chaos! Temporary barriers in place carving the car park in half and preventing cars from turning down aisles even though you could see spaces. No signs explaining and drivers getting cross with each other. Will avoid in future.

Visited today, popped in to Starbucks for coffee, where the delightful young man serving attempted to rip me off! Told me a price, short changed me, then when questioned claimed he’s rubbish at maths (although the till does it all for him...) showed me receipt which had a higher total and an extra coffee on? He obviously hoped I wouldn’t notice. Gave me a refund, but wonder how many times he’s gotten away with it? Disgusting behaviour, hope his bosses see this.

Stopped for a Harry Ramsden brekkie. Lovely breakfast, could be improved by a better quality sausage, they were pretty poor! Great service though and very clean. Shame about how cold the restaurant was, cold water in the toilets and cold hand driers made the experience very unpleasant on a wet cold day. Would definitely not stop here again.

On the way to Burnham on sea. Plenty of disabled parking spaces. However it wasn't peak holiday period and it was also a weekday. We just wanted a quite bite to eat for lunch and we usually choose Burger king when using motorway services. We did exactly that on this occasion. Partner had the chicken royale meal, I had a whopper meal. Both with a cold drink. I asked for no pickles on the burger and that's how it came. My only complaint is that the burger was barely warm, although it was cooked thoroughly.Didn't visit the toilets so cannot comment. We had no issues getting in or out of the car park, but it was a fairly quiet time when we visited.

The trouble with work is that occasionally you just cannot stop for lunch and that is what took me, between jobs, to the M5 services just south of Bristol, well gone 2pm. There are all the usual MacWimpKing outlets and Ken’s Tucky Fowl Chicken of course, but there is also a Harry Ramsden's fish ‘n chip outlet. Great!So I ordered a fish and chips, no ‘free side’ wanted, no drink, but I should have accepted the offer of the tartar sauce. I was told there was a 4 minute wait for the fish - excellent because that meant it was cooked to order. Tick! Right on time it was ready. A medium sized fish on a bed of chips, it was literally passed through the hot cabinet from one pair of tongs to another pair of tongs and onto the waiting portion of chips. I added vinegar to the unsalted chips. Don’t you hate it when fast-food outlets salt the chips without asking if you want salt? There were plenty of chips, almost too many and they were hot, they were not greasy, and they were crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. The fish was superb, crispy and light batter, not oily, no inner-layer of uncooked batter, really hot fish, and best of all good fresh fish. I ate every single bit of the meal, it was fantastic fish ‘n chips and at £8.90 it was a bargain for such quality and quantity.There was only one thing wrong really, and that is that I prefer the more substantial ‘meaty’ flesh offered by haddock over cod any day. Still I enjoyed the cod, fabulous meal served with a smile and eaten with a smile too.

I’ve used the drive thru many times now and they almost always forget an item from my order, or give me regular when I’ve ordered decaf. Today I went inside and the woman in the register was really rude. I had to repeat myself several times as she didn’t appear to be listening to my order, and when I asked for banana bread she snapped “I have to see if we have any,” and walked away, while I’m trying to point out the two slices in the case right in front of me. She kept saying “what?” after everything I said. It wasn’t THAT loud in there and I was speaking pretty clearly. Guess she’s having a lousy morning but it doesn’t improve my opinion of this location.

Have to commend the staff at Gordano Services Starbucks. The best Americano coffee, tea and mocha Frappuccino my husband, daughter I have had at a Starbucks. I like my coffee strong and not like dishwater. Enjoyed it, just what was needed for the drive to Exeter.

Once you enter from the roundabout you're trapped. Took a mere 10 minutes to queue for a space in the car park, but when I tried to leave, I was log jammed. Took 30 minutes to move the first 50 yards, another 20 minutes to reach the roundabout and the motorway. There were some marshals but they were giving priority to cars which had been queueing for 30 seconds over vehicles which had been waiting 30 minutes.

Services themselves were standard with what you’d expect from a welcome break however took 30 mins to get served at KFC, I asked to speak to the manager and asked him whether he considered it acceptable to keep his customers waiting for that length of time and was met with a simple shrug of the shoulders and a response of “doing all we can mate”

Unbelievable gridlock traffic leaving the carpark after a 5 minute toilet stop- already been waiting 30minutes and must be at least an hour still to wait until we are back on the motorway as no one is moving at all. If I could give this 0 I would!! I know this is an extremely busy time but it was utter chaos starting with the parking. There were attendents standing around with hands in their pockets and a queue of cars waiting and unsure where they were supposed to go!! Next, the waiting time to be served at any of the food outlets was ridiculous. When my son went to use the toilet he found it was closed.... everyone was told it would be open as soon as possible. AVOID THESE SERVICES!!

Excellent place to go if you’re afraid being a bit too early. You’ll easily be able to spend a full hour to get your fast food, and if that is not enough it will take you an extra hour to get out of the carpark. It can be particularly enjoyable by those who enjoy being cut off when trying to hit back on the road. Well worth a visit

We stood for 45 minutes waiting to be served. 2 young lads working their socks off. The so called supervisor. Kept walking to the service area (where there were several irrate customers) all she kept saying was "you will be served in 2 minutes " then she walked out the back. Did nothing then attempted to bag up food for a customer (got the order wrong) at which point the customers walked off in disgust. There were 4 self service machines. Only 3 working. She then walked over and switched 2 off only leaving one in use and still not serving from the till. When I complained to her she laughed and said"oh sorry" whilst continuing to laugh. May I suggest that if someone is in a supervisory position. Firstly they earn it and not use it as a badge of self importance and secondly lead by example

This review of the car park chaos on Friday 2nd August 2019. Take a break Tiredness Kills. Frustration and road rage may have killed at the services this week. On entering the services it appeared very busy no complaints as I was part of the Malay. There were a fair amount of parking stewards directing traffic and organising vacant bays.

I can confirm what others have said about the chaotic traffic situation here. It was around 4.00 pm on a Monday (so not really peak time) and the motorway itself wasn't especially busy. We were about two thirds through a six hour trip and pulled in just to swap drivers, not to use any of the facilities. An hour and a half later we were finally on our way again. We never worked out what the problem was. The 2 staff members we saw were directing cars from one stationary queue into another and seemed to be accepting the situation as normal. It isn't. Avoid this services - if enough people stop visiting, maybe they'll accept that there's a problem and try doing something about it.

I was with my family at Gordano Service area. We choose Burguer King and it was a big mistake. After being waiting for more than 30 minutes for a couple of Children meals, the order was incorret with incorrect ingredients which one of us was allergic, the staff kept the receipt of our meal. As a result we couldn´t claim for the mistake. We tried to order again. As the order was special because of the allergy, we need to order in person. When our turn came the staff informed us that we needed to wait for as a minimum 20 minutes to order because they were short of staff and the person in charge to take the orders needed to be in order place. As a result, we didn´t get our order and the person with the food allergy couldn´t eat that day. We needed to stop in other service area.

We had a sausage bap and a breakfast bap and two drinks and the quality of the food was amazing! They were both full of their respective filling and were delicious. We would definitely come here again.

Stopped off for breakfast after spending the night in the Ramada. (American?) Starbucks Barista was very friendly, making good drinks to order and filling up our water bottles with ice for free. Harry Ramsdens workers were a little less friendly but that was fine. Breakfast baps were tasty and filling. Bring a reusable cup to Starbucks to get 25p off any drink. Will visit again when travelling to the South-West

Stopped in on Sunday 9th and bought a large tea and a black coffee. Starbucks tends to be a safe bet with a usually high standard. Basically you know what you're going to get. However, not this time. How do you get a white tea so wrong? Both drinks undrinkable. I can only think there's something in the water there. Reading the reviews I can see this was the case in January. Bad service the staff were good the manager was a bully to the staff and customers had to wait 25 minutes to get served on a 45 minute break if he ran one on the high Street it would be closed down never again

Stopped as we really fancied a Burger King to be told that there system was down and that they couldn’t do anything for at least 20 minutes. I asked why they couldn’t take orders manually and also add up but unfortunately I got the answer the system is down again. How hard is it to add up with most youngsters having a mobile phone glued to there hand!

We don’t usually stop here as we’re not lovers of Starbucks, but we made a quick stop for the toilets, which were very clean. The whole inside area had a very low ceiling, so seemed quite dark and rather old fashioned. It was very busy, but seemed to be coping quite well.

Whenever we’re driving to the Midlands or London we tend to stop off at Gordano Services in the Bristol area for our loo and coffee break. Lots of choices with the two mini supermarkets and restaurants plus Starbucks.

Popped into Gordano Services on the M5, Junction 19. Good clean facilities. There is a Starbucks and a Waitrose here plus all the normal service facilities. One site serves both sides of the M5. You have to pay for parking if you stop for more than the hours.

I stopped at the Gordano Services on the M5 while en route to a football match on Good Friday. I wanted a tasty and hot meal. I had fish,chips and mushy peas at Harry Ramsden and it was appalling. The food was luke warm at best and the chips had a funny taste. I actually left half of my meal. I did not make a complaint at the time because I was in a hurry. I tried to contact Welcome Break by e-mail this morning but could not get through. This is the worst meal I have ever had.

What went wrong yesterday afternoon 12/04/2019 at Gordano services? It delayed our journey by an hour with ques one minute and whacky races by inconsiderate drivers the next! Very stressful and we were lucky to avoid any accidents or fisticuffs!! There was plenty of parking spaces but people cut through the Larry park to get out. They also drove around the back of the petrol station and raced across the EMPTY car park rather than que! I would request that the management company take some responsibility and save us the stress by having a similar system to car parks. Whereby a red light states full/congestion and we would then drive to the next service station and save ourselves the stress and aggravation. This would go a long way to reduce our stress levels. I would be most grateful if the management company would review the CCTV and come up with a plan as I for one will not be using these services again until there is a review of the through flow of traffic and a system to warn of congestion set up on the entrance to the service station so we have time to decide not to stop at Gordano. THANK YOU management team in anticipation of your consideration of this reasonable request

I stopped here this morning as I have done on the occasion I’ve been passing for a coffee, which give them their due is always great. This time however I ordered an ham and cheese croissant too at the drive through. The car in front seemed to passing food ordered back and forth to the cashier and took forever to be dealt with. By the time I got my order they were apologetic and handed me my order along with another bag (I assumed as a sweetener for the delay). It wasn’t until I was At my destination that I stopped to eat and discovered I had two sugar filled muffins. NOT HAPPY!

The baby changing absolutely stunk, filthy, including the changing table! No way would you put a 5 month old baby down in there! Told a welcome break member of staff sweeping in the restaurant and was told ‘that’s not my problem to sort’ absolutely terrible customer service! Tables and chairs were dirty, we wiped it with a baby wipe and it was black! Avoid!

Made an order for my son. The server gave the order to the wrong boy and he ran off. The server told me that was my order and expected me to get it back. I glared at him so he ran out to get the order. The boys mother was rooting through the bag and the server thought he could just give it back to me. I said no and I’ll have a fresh order. The server then went behind the counter and pretended to get fresh food but I could see him. Needless to say we had to bin it.. awful service . Do not trust their health and safety.

Called in on my was home on Sunday 11/11/18 @ 22:10 to get something to eat as I was hungry. When I got there, cleaners were going about their duties - nothing out of the ordinary. I walked towards the food hall & noticed several of the outlets were closed. KFC was barriered off so I headed towards Burger King, which appeared to be open. One of the cleaning staff advised me that everything in the area (food hall) was closed. I was offered no explanation as to why there were no outlets open or serving hot food. The only option was some sandwiches from the spar.

We use Thorns farm for lunch and dinner every week and have always enjoyed our experience, But,tonight 6th October have felt badly let down by the on duty attitude of the duty manager, who was rude,arrogant, sarcastic and argumentative about taking our order wrong ,which completely ruined our evening, resulting in us leaving our food, he though6a refund put it right,but hus whole attitude towards us was out if order as we had done nothing wrong,he needs to take customer service training, we have been going in to Thorns farm ever since they opened and every one of ther staff have always been amazing, this horrible person has let them all down on duty October 6th Sunday night arrogant, rude,don't careless attitude argumentative customer service nil

Food is good but kind of pricey. Atmosphere was kind of lackin it wasn’t super clean and the stools wobbled, the outside sitting area was a lot nicer. But the service was quick and the staff were very friendly!! Would recommend the bbq honey burger :)

Late delivery. No apologies and no explanation, delivery time jumped from 55 mins to 1 hour 40, I assume they had lost the order. These things happen but its really poor customer service that no refund or apology was offered, they clearly expect the customer to just suck up their bad service.
