Late delivery. No apologies and no explanation, delivery time jumped from 55 mins to 1 hour 40, I assume they had lost the order. These things happen but its really poor customer service that no refund or apology was offered, they clearly expect the customer to just suck up their bad service.

The food is soo overly priced, do not go. Such a waste of money. The chicken was pink and undercooked, sushi took 45 mins to come and we had already finished eating. Said we don’t want sushi anymore as we were about to leave but she made us pay and wait another 15mins for it.

Food was average and service was terrible. Despite it being quiet, wait times were long, others served before us and tables left dirty. Hardly had ingredients for stuff on the menu and I had to wait an extra 15 mins for my food, meaning my friends had finished by the time I was served some quite unsavoury yakisoba. Never coming back.

Arrived at opening time, Restaurant wasn't open yet due to staff arriving late we were asked to sit down anywhere. Once staff arrived our order was taken, staff had no enthusiast or interest making us feel unwelcome. She took our order. Food arrived within 5 minutes, cold starter, curry was pure brown water, We left right away. Avoid! high chance of possible food poisoning. Our digestive system felt unwell shortly after. I am so disappointed evening having to pay for our cold starters.

Had to get a burger in here as I've Been dying to try one for ages.. Was impressed by been able to watch them make your burger and been able to build your own.. Plenty to choose from on the menu.. Bit pricey £11 for a burger but was a must try.. Will buy again from here..

Took 30 minutes after ordering to tell us one drink and a main just weren't available. This was after getting our lacklustre starters after a long wait and still had to ask for our drinks. Service was terrible, had to ask for the bill 3 times. The restaurant was empty when we arrived and staff sat on their phones for a while before we even got menus.

First of all the restaurant looks fantastic, one of the main reasons I chose to eat here was because of how good the restaurant looked. Unfortunately at first we were turned down due to there only being one chef on sight and we were told to return at 16:00 when there would be more cooks to make our food. The service is good, staff are friendly and very attentive despite there only being a handful of waiters and waitresses. The menu isn’t the biggest, I think they should definitely consider expanding it however the options are still decent. The food arrived promptly and was plated beautifully, this was accompanied by beautiful looking drinks. The food and drinks were great and portion sizes are good you’ll definitely be full up by the end of the meal, the food could do with having a little more soya sauce and being a little spicier though. The locks on the toilet were also a little dodgy. Overall a positive experience and I’ll definitely be returning, I’d give a more accurate score of 3.75/5.

Staff are so friendly here and the atmosphere is great! Today was my second time at Kaiseki. The first time my boyfriend and I came here it was incredible but this time the food was subpar. He ordered the tonkatsu ramen and I ordered the shoyu ramen. Today our food was not as flavorful as last time and there was a short blonde hair cooked into my fried chicken. (I have red hair and my boyfriend dark brown) I didn’t complain because the service was good so I decided to just stop eating my food and let it be. To drink we ordered the house lemonade and mint iced tea- both drinks were awesome!!! I feel like kaiseki is lacking in consistency but overall it’s a decent place with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately after my experience with the food today I was put off and probably won’t be returning for a long while if ever. I’d say it’s worth a try, maybe on the weekend they’re a bit more consistent.

Unbelievable experience. We went ahead and reserved on this place at 13:30 as we need to leave by 3pm for an important appointment. There was not enough room to maneuver a small pram so we went and asked if we can sit outside. The lady gave us the menu and was gone for 15 minutes so we had to go and ask if we can order. We were still in a good mood until we waited almost 30 minutes for the food. Not a single staff checked in on us and I already called their attention twice. Their restaurant was not even half full. The waitress then asked “Oh. what did you order?” I was livid and explained that we now had 20 minutes to eat and rush on so we won’t be late. The food was then served in a rush. The food was alright but there was no explanation from staff whatsoever on why we had to be left out. Whats the point of booking if the walk in customers get served first? We unfortunately chose the wrong restaurant for our experience in Bristol.

In the beginning, the tea comes before the water, which never came and we had to ask for again. We were informed that one of the things we wanted was unavailable and the waitress was going to check if the alternative we wanted was available. She never came back and we didn’t know what we were waiting for in the end. She then asked after serving our food whether we wanted anything else and we asked for a refill of our water jug. She eventually forgot to refill the jug that she took on her way to the bar. Which we had to get ourselves in the end. She apologised as they were busy, but there were only at most 3 other tables. We weren’t informed about the long wait at the beginning and attitude was abysmal and felt like they couldn’t care less about serving us. Never have i felt compelled to leave a negative review but this place certainly did it for me.

Terrible service, average food. The floor staff overall didn't seem to care. Our waiter seemed to be confused of what they have available and what were not and later then told us there was only 1 chef making all the food after we've waited for half an hour (plus we waited for the tap water we asked from the beginning that whole time). They did however apologise, and said it was due to a busy night but for the whole night the restaurant was not even a quarter full. This was a 2 month old restaurant at the time of this writing so we wanted to try it out, but it was just disappointing and a waste of a night.

The restaurant is offering non-traditional Japanese food. And I'm satisfied with the food quality. My friends are happy about the ramen and I love the taste of the fried squid (& the source!). As a Japanese food lover, I must say the food quality of the restaurant deserves a higher ranking. However, I think they need to make a big improvement on the service. I came for lunch and I have been waiting for quite a long time to be served, and long time for the food. There are not too many customers at that time, can't imagine what would happen on Friday evening. I hope the restaurant can do better when I visit again.

Waited over 30 minutes for soft drinks to be served and the restaurant wasn't even 1/4 full. My friend's gyozas were then served and the server asked what cutlery we would like. Cutlery/chopsticks were then not brought out for around 10 minutes, by which time my friend had finished their plate - the review of the gyozas were that they were "alright". Food then trickled out, but I was served a pumpkin bao and not a chicken bao - they allowed us to have that on the house as it was their mistake. The baos were decent enough, 7/10 for the pumpkin and 6/10 for the chicken. My friends were also served chicken karage which I'd give a 7/10 and we all enjoyed. My crab ramen was served second to last - it was very buttery, the noodles were instant-like as a previous review on here states, and the crab was not particularly delicate like say a dressed crab would be, it had a richer generic seafood taste than that a mixed texture. We were given 50% off our bill due to the long wait times and late service and the incorrectly served item. It was the seating area that was the draw for us and the food really let the place down. On closer inspection when we walked past today, all the plants were plastic and everything was poorly considered when they're competing against numerous other restaurants in close proximity - I guess they rely on footfall even with poor ratings. I'd save yourself the time and go to Wagamamas 2 doors down as we have eaten there before and the dishes were top notch for a high street chain restaurant.

Disagree with James. Kibou is a poor attempt at copying Japanese food. They use instant noodles for their ramen. Kaiseki at least tried to be authentic. The main downside is that the ramen broth was too salty and the noodles probably aren't made fresh. The price is too expensive for where it is, when your restaurant is next to Yo Sushi and Wagamama, people will go there (not because they're better, but tested, consistent and reliable for the same price or cheaper). My advice to the owners is to spend a few to make the restaurant more lively and brighter. It still looks like Bella Italia.

Staff were very attentive and friendly! They made sure my partner and I had everything we needed. I tried the vegan pumpkin bun and vegan miso ramen with mushroom (there was the option for tofu instead). They were both delicious, but could have had more flavour in my opinion. There weren’t too many vegan options. Interior was gorgeous and well decorated.

Can certainly get more for a similar price in better locations. Feels like the poor man’s Kibou. Drinks were expensive for what they were at £12 a cocktail for basic drinks.

I think there's potential, but various aspects need attention. Despite being almost empty, service was erratic. Staff were friendly but not very attentive. Food was brought before cutlery for several tables. The Poké Bowl was made with long grain rather than sushi rice, didn't have any sauce, and was seasoned with mint (all rather strange).

Upon arrival kaiseki looks the part, it has a nice interior design and looks quite flashy. It’s a shame the food is bellow average. We ordered the tonkotsu ramen and the flavours just weren’t there. The addition of elves ear mushroom and picked ginger overwhelmed the dish and made it unpleasant. the broth tasted more like a weak gravy and didn’t taste like original tonkotsu broth at all. The wagyu taco was completely lost on me and had no flavour or seasoning. Kaiseki would be better off rebranding to a cocktail bar. Waiter was lovely tho props to that guy.

Love japanese food and me and my boyfriend thought we would try it out. Unfortunately we were super disappointed. Walked inside and they had drill music playing, Aitch, because of this we decided to sit outside lol. For drinks I had a glass rose (they only had one on the menu) and it tasted like a cheap zinfandel and it was meant to be pinot grigio, super disappointed. 175ml was 6 pounds. My boyfriend had a cocktail "tokyo ice tea", was far too strong and we usually love strong drinks but this was a bit extreme. This was 12£ I had a donburi bowl, which i have had in other places and really enjoyed. However it arrived cold and lacked flavour. It was 12.50. My boyfriend had "wagyu" bao burger, definitely not worth 8 pound. I will say the crispy squid was nice but super over priced for the portion size when it's listed as a "sharer" on the menu. Overall we were super gutted and we were pained to pay the bill. Staff were lovely so it was such a shame. Would not go back in a million years.

We have been to Kaiseki twice now. Both times, the food tasted incredible, with good portions. The service was fast and friendly without feeling rushed. There is a good choice of different dishes on the menu. The mocktails are delicious too! The restaurant is clean and smart and is a relaxing environment to eat in.

I was there with my family , we placed the order together, but my meal was brought to me late , my family was already finishing theirs meals. Very slow service - took 40 mins to get a bao bun and 45 mins after ordering for them to tell us that they don't have the item I ordered. It wasn't even busy - only 4-5 tables had people sitting on them. First time I walked out of a restaurant without eating anything!

Had a meal here the other evening and it was very lovely. Me and my partner shared the shojin (veggie) tempura which was very nice, then had the pork ramen and the miso ramen. Both were delicious and filling. I think the lady who served us was called Tanya and she was brill, very attentive and friendly. Another table got their food which was sushi displayed on a big wooden ship, which looked excellent so we were relived our meals were so tasty that we weren't too jealous of that. Would definitely go back.

Huge queues at Wagamamas and Nandos brought us here, where we were able to sit instantly as it was very quiet, maybe because of the low review score on Google? 3.2* is an unfair rating for this place. There are some slight teething issues with orders (wrong or extra food being brought to our table etc), but the food arrives quickly and is pretty good. The service was generally pretty good too. The Kumquat non alcoholic drink is extraordinary, highly recommend it, they should also offer it as an alcoholic cocktail version, it's insanely good. I would go back again if I needed to grab pre cinema dinner etc at Cabots.

This restaurant has so much potential. The food tastes great, but the service was abysmal and the wait times were horrendous. It got to the point where we had to say we would just give up and pay for what we had so far (at which time there was a sudden push to give us our order). The food was delivered so late and we ate what we had, but the rest only arrived because we had to ask multiple times. At one stage a waiter brought us more drinks and I had to point out we weren't waiting on any and actually just hadn't had food. He looked confused. Everyone around us had food and they all arrived way after us, so there were clearly chefs busy in the kitchen. However we did spot other tables in a similar situation to us with huge delays. The staff all looked so distracted and hung around the bar not paying customers any attention. Such a shame because it was such great food.

I have never been to a restaurant as bad as this. Ordered 4 starter dishes and 1 sweet potato fries between 2 of us.. one dish came..it was luke warm,sent it back and within 2 mins had a new one that was also luke warm. Then another dish arrived 10 mins later,every item we ordered came separately by that time we had waited around 30-40 mins. And the food was awful.. chicken bao buns were so greasy.. the guys serving were fine but something Seriously needs sorting with the chefs/kitchen staff. We only paid for drinks and 1 starter each in the end but will definitely not be returning and do NOT recommend.

Not good at all really - we were sat right next to the kitchen (which is no issue really) however they seemed either really understaffed or just really unattentive waiters. Our food was sat waiting to be brought to us for ages (should have just gone and grabbed it as we were literally cm away from it...) so the miso soup was cold and also the chicken. Don't order the salmon tacos - very underwhelming and said it came with avocado ceviche... it didn't, it was literally just diced salmon in a taco shell. The chicken karaage was some of the worst I've ever had. The sushi was just ok. Had better from takeaway places! SO overpriced for what it is, honestly save your money and go to itsu over the road for half the price, quick service and 10x better food.

Absolutely awful experience here. Went in on a quiet evening. Only a couple tables were taken when we came in. It was just the two of us and we got seated almost immediately. We then chose what we want and put our menus down waiting for our order to be taken. We waited 25 minutes while we watched the staff laying out tables. It took 3 separate staff members to lay each table. Finally someone came to take our order. While we waited another table of 4 came in and had their order taken almost immediately. They got their food before we’d even received our drinks. We noticed the other people had been given a jug of water without asking for it while we got nothing. Our drinks came after waiting 15 minutes and our food came 30 minutes later. When the food came we were disappointed again. We got sushi and had to ask for soy sauce as it didn’t come with it. Our ramen was bland and had hardly any toppings. The soft shell crab was all deep fried and hardly any crab. It was basically a bowl of noodles for £16! The staff seemed like they didn’t want us to be there the whole time and were quite rude. Next time we’ll go to Wagamama next door as it actually has some flavour and you can get a lot more for your money. This actually tasted like a cheap meal and it was not cheap. Could have had a better ramen from a packet. Won’t be returning. We couldn’t wait to leave!

The "cocktails" were disgusting and the food was cold ,again they were extremely quiet so waiting 45 minutes for the food and it being ice cold on reaching the table was a major disappointment but also a mystery because I couldn't understand what they were doing . the food tasted pleasant enough but when it was served ice cold it took enjoyment out of it staff were talking amongst themselves rather than tending the 4 customers. Definitely felt like a manager wasn't present . All in all pretty terrible experience. Only open 2 weeks so maybe learning curve but still not nice experience

The food at Kaiseki, Bristol is amazing. I had the Shoyu Ramen and it was delicious. The service was quite slow and the staff seem inattentive. It took quite some time for someone to take our order, guests who arrived after us were served before us and the food was very slow to come out. The restaurant was not full. My first impression of the restaurant was that it smelt like onions and i was overall very disappointed of the food in this Japanese restaurant. The food was tasteless and i felt like it had nothing to do with the Japanese cuisine. The ramen was greasy and the meat was fried in old oil and they even offer rice noodles on the menu which they in fact, did not even have. The waiters looked bored and were wearing joggers! Waste of money .

The food we got was good. The service started well, but quickly declined. They forgot one of our side dishes, though they remembered to add it to our bill! We never got any water for the table, despite asking for it specifically. They never checked in on us, as is customary to check that everything was okay, which is a shame because we were missing food and water! Trying to catch anyone's attention was like pulling teeth, though everyone was very friendly when we did get their attention. It was not busy, either, but they seemed understaffed. I can't recommend coming here.

The food was pretty good. We enjoyed the ramen and the starters. We had problems with the sushi as they brought the order wrong twice!! so we didn't even try it because for the time the sushi arrived to the table we had already finished with the meal. The waiters were nice but the rest of the tables weren't cleaned and they were just checking their phones. The kitchen staff were busy and working a lot. We tried to order 3 dishes but we couldn't because they didn't have halloumi, Coke, salmon!!

Went to Kaiseki this evening as we love Japanese food. Hugely disappointed. I ordered the soft shell crab Ramen. It was deep fried but had been left in the stock too long so was soggy and the sweetcorn on the top was stone cold like it was straight out the can. There was too many noodles and it was really stodgy. I sent it back. The Chicken Tacos were nice though. There was loads of shouting between the kitchen staff and the waiters which was a bit awkward as well. I wouldn't go here again.

Ordered the following: Tuna Steak Tataki - Delicious, beautifully seared and excellent depth of flavour Crispy Duck Salad - Duck was divine, as crispy as imagined, salad dressed exquisitely and with edible flowers. Also a very well-chosen selection of leaves, real value for money Wagyu Taco - Excellent taste, start to finish, some cheeky little flavours that popped up throughout, leaving a wonderful aftertaste Crispy Squid - Exceptional. Not rubbery in the slightest, garnished well and served beautifully Soft Shell crab Tamaki - Everything we hoped it would be, with cod roe to enhance the flavour, fresh and flavoursome Finest chick bun - well presented, crispy chicken, went down a treat From start to finish this was a fantastic experience, and all cam to under £50, which for the quality was a real treat. Staff were super friendly, atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. Cannot wait to visit again, SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!!!

Quite honestly the worst ramen I ever had, even pot noodle has more flavour than the completely flavourless dirty dish water we were served. The small dishes were no better. The wagyu beef was anything but. It was dry and it looked like it had been sourced from Icelands cheapest mince range and came drowned in soy sauce. Despite being one of only two tables with customers (should have been a sign) our drinks took ages to arrive and all food had been served by the time we got them. Thoroughly disappointing meal which we barely touched. My daughter was so hungry I that had to go and buy her Mcdonalds. Avoid at all costs and go next door to Wagamama's.

Contrary to the generally low score, I had an absolutely delicious meal. I was in Bristol for business and came in for a table for one, and was welcomed warmly. I sampled the gyoza and the chicken ramen, which were both flavourful and presented beautifully. The price was extremely reasonable, and enjoyed a lovely Japanese ale alongside.

Really disappointing ramen. The broth was both bland and unpleasant. Inattentive staff even though only 3 or 4 tables were occupied. Sign above the door advertises RAMEN, BAO, BURGERS, COCKTAILS but there are no bao on the menu at all. Decor is nice but the music they were playing was awful. Absolutely cannot recommend this place. There are better places for ramen and burgers nearby.

Compared with another local ramen restaurant around the same price point, this place disappoints a lot. Ramen was clearly prepackaged and precooked as it was way too soft, the broths tasted the same regardless of whether it was meant to be shoyu or tonkatsu (both were incredibly bland, which is interesting considering they were ready to offer us soy sauce when they could've justed added that for the shoyu broth before they served). The tonkatsu pork was unseasoned and tough, and had a gamey taste to it - makes you wonder about its freshness. The atmosphere and the interior design was nice until they put on the music, which was traditional Chinese music. I personally am Chinese and love my music, but for a restaurant that not only has a Japanese name, but also claims to serve `Japanese fusion food`, this seems quite inappropriate. (Extra note to that, for the banana wontons in the dessert menu, wontons are not Japanese, plus please don't harass my Chinese brethrens by putting bananas in it.) But kudos to whoever did the artistic design for the drinks menu, it was extremely cute! All drinks on there also sounded nice, we ordered the Kumquat drink and it was quite nice and refreshing - perhaps consider focusing on being a bar instead of a restaurant? Staff was also alright, nothing to complain about them.

Unfortunately really disappointed considering had very high hopes. Asked about allergies and then said they can't guarantee no allergens that we stated, as the kitchen is "completely cross contaminated" - wasn't passed on to kitchen anyway, seems it is a question they ask for the sake of asking. Staff either circled and loomed and tried to clear your tables as you ate or were nowhere to be seen and seemingly didn't recognise you when asking for assitance. Was offered tap water to start that didn't materialise from a host that was never seen again, requested water 10 minutes later and then was charged for bottled instead. Food pretty good in general but disappointing as exceedingly fatty meat, 40% or so of meat was inedible as opposed to edible fat. Had to ask for a different side plate as it was unclean, then got another unclean plate. Main course came out and was put down whilst still trying to eat starters, plated were just shuffled as we were trying to eat from them. Bill came at the end for an amount but was handed a card machine with a bigger number on it with screen titled away, server really not fussed that they had tried to overcharge when was pointed out. Service charge built into the price so you can't even ask for it to be removed when unimpressed with service. Really disappointed as had really high hopes.

I cannot resist getting the big double burger and I am never disappointed, but I never have room for anything else. The choice of toppings is a very personal one and I need to experiment more. Consistent and good quality but a bit pricey, but this is a city center restaurant.

We ordered 45 minutes ago. Our milkshakes have melted. My daughter is still in the queue waiting for her burger. There are 6 members of staff all running about but no-one is getting their food. Possibly one of the most disorganised food venues I have ever been to. I’ve had to come outside because it’s so frustrating to watch. Where is the manager overseeing this carnage? This branch of Five Guys is always good and the food is as you would expect from the chain. Unfortunately on a recent visit our order went missing. After a long wait we didn't get our food, but the staff were really good. They offered us a free milkshake each as an apology and prioritised our order, it came out pretty quickly after this. Mistakes happen, but good customer service is resolving them quickly. This was done perfectly.

We use Thorns farm for lunch and dinner every week and have always enjoyed our experience, But,tonight 6th October have felt badly let down by the on duty attitude of the duty manager, who was rude,arrogant, sarcastic and argumentative about taking our order wrong ,which completely ruined our evening, resulting in us leaving our food, he though6a refund put it right,but hus whole attitude towards us was out if order as we had done nothing wrong,he needs to take customer service training, we have been going in to Thorns farm ever since they opened and every one of ther staff have always been amazing, this horrible person has let them all down on duty October 6th Sunday night arrogant, rude,don't careless attitude argumentative customer service nil
