Good Karma Coffee House in Calderdale

The coffee is ok but the service is less than average. The person taking the orders had to lift herself off the counter before she served me. The coffee was slow to arrive even though there were two baristas working. Very much agree that it seems to be image over substance.

What an excellent spot for breakfast/brunch. I got the breakfast burrito, which was absolutely delicious and a good size, but it was that good. I probably could have eaten 2. Older kid had the adult pancakes with fruit , which was massive (can't believe he managed to eat them all) The younger one had the kids' pancakes with Nutella.which was a feast for a 4-year-old.

We visited Good Karma on Saturday and were disappointed with our coffees. We ordered a vanilla latte and biscoff latte. The vanilla had too much syrup in it and the biscoff tasted of nothing, not even a regular latte. This is pretty reflective of the member of staff making it that seemed most interested in dancing to music and chatting to another member of staff. I don’t like leaving poor feedback but I am hoping this triggers a manager to have a word with staff and perhaps support with knowing how much syrup, milk and coffee to blend for a latte. We have previously visited this coffeeshop and enjoyed our drinks so Saturday was a real shame.

Excellent food , nice friendly environment , dog friendly which is great , staff very good. Atmosphere also very good. Will go again

I've been a regular here since it opened having visited with friends, family and my partner and it's one of our favourites in the area. It's dog friendly which is great, sometimes we have struggled to get a seat as it can get really busy but is always worth the wait. We've sampled the full English and some savoury dishes but the real star of the show is their pancakes- absolutely delicious every time! Lastly, their new trailer is great for when we're on our walks and not sitting in.

Met a friend for coffee with our little ones. Had a highchair available which was good. It looks like a cool place but perhaps a bit more style over substance. The lad behind the counter wasn't particularly friendly but was okay. The menu looked good but they have followed that irritating trend of either having meat or vegan options jumping over vegetarian options for most of the menu. I asked for a swap on the burrito but was told it was premade which isn't great. Adding extra stuff on (cheese, avocado etc) is really pricey too. Ended up building my own scrambled eggs on toast with vegan sausage. Coffee was nice. The main issue for me is that once we'd left we absolutely stank of grease. I had to put mine and my baby's clothes into the wash as soon as we got home and get in the shower. It's been three days now and my coat and the pram still smell. It doesn't fill us with confidence around the cleanliness of the place and we won't go back because of this.

It looks great from the outside, staff looked like they were helpful and friendly.When I asked what was in the only two vegan options, two members of staff looked at each other , confused about my question! Whist waiting for our order, I visited the ladies, which wasn't very clean. They had one of those fake plant wall screens up , that was covered in dust.(and goodness knows what else!) Couldn't see anywhere to dry my hands and the toilet seat , painted wood, was all chipped and cracked. We waited three quarters of an hour to get our food , whilst people coming in after us, got theirs first.Whilst waiting, I watched chefs at work, no gloves, opening tubs and sniffing them....binning some, not really reassuring! I enjoyed the food when it arrived, and we did get an apology for the wait ,and a free cup of tea for each of us, but not a great first visit. There was a queue out the door when we left, and staff didn't seem in a hurry to serve people!

Visited here a few times now and I just want to keep coming back every day! The staff are helpful and service is fairly quick. The food is amazing, you can tell the chefs take such care and effort with making the food delicious and visually appealing. Always look forward to the presentation and taste. Would highly recommend

Dropped in for a coffee minutes before closing time, Joseph and the team couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly, lovely coffees, brought out all the yummy cakes they’d just put away and helped us with the car park payment. Terrible app for parking, nothing to do with Good Karma. Will definitely return and give ourselves more time next time.

When I’m in Bradford I always have a little drive to Brighouse to come here. It’s a friendly place, dog friendly (although we never bring him because he’s a maniac) and the atmosphere is always great. The staff are friendly. The food is really nice, portions are decent and it always looks good on your plate! Of course there are some things which like anywhere we think could be improved but everything I have ordered has always been great! I just wish this place was bigger! I have many photos in my reel of this place but there’s a couple below. The coffee is bang on! We always say we will try one of the hot choc but when the coffee is so good we always forget to! Service has always been great, even at the busiest of times when tables are full.

Beautiful spot with delicious food, coffee and very friendly attentive staff. Definitely one of the best breakfasts I have had in Yorkshire, must try the sweetcorn fritters as well they are to die for! Menu has a wide variety of food and the decor is really cool:) will deffo be returning soon.

The breakfast, burritos and pancakes here are so so good however some aspects leave much to be desired. We keep returning to Good Karma but everytime are disappointed, it’s usually by the staff. The staff almost seem like zombies, if somethings wrong they won’t revisit your table (I was very nice about it too!). They also don’t seem to take hand hygiene very seriously. It’s not the first time we’ve witnessed something questionable ….. this time the lady dropped the food she was delivering to a table. She made the BIGGEST deal about it, picked a little up and disappeared for a bit. It took both members of the staff nearly half an hour to clean it up …. Neither washed their hands at any point either. This is the first time we’ve spotted something like this before and honestly, it makes me feel a little ill. Also another little gripe, the cups are tiny! When you are paying a decent amount for a tea or coffee the cups should be substantial, also tea pots if you are charging £2 for a brew! Little things too, like getting your own cutlery, water etc. It’s not a cheap place so these should be provided rather than getting yourself! I really hope this place sorts out its niggles as some of the food is good! I do feel it’s a little overhyped though and there are much nicer places for the prices you pay! As always will not be returning in a hurry!

Amazing breakfast at the Good Karma. We are vegans and there was a good selection of food plant based milks. We had the vegan breakfast which was freshly prepared and well cooked, absolutely delicious. The coffee was also really good, much better than the well known chains. The staff were all lovely and the ambiance was great. Really recommend this place.

Beautiful coffee, beautiful food! Absolutely worth a visit. It gets busy but we've never waited over 10 minutes, the staff are attentive and friendly. The place is spotless too.

Food was great, but experience has been subsequently tarnished by over zealous parking company sending a £60 fine, despite me paying for parking on the day. Just beware if parking - keep your ticket so you can appeal as I am.

Glad this appeared on our radar as wanted a decent coffee and grub. Good Karma is an alluring name and we were drawn to their energy. We were well and truly energised from our pitstop visit. Nice hot coffees and omg amazing breakkie brunch options. Breakfast burrito was AMAZIIING! Earned a 5* review from me. Will take the little detour again. No hesitation!

An Oasis in an area that lacks decent cafes .. found this place more by chance having been to a supermarket to try to get a hot drink to be told no cafes on that side of town. Walking out I saw the signs for this cafe so I headed into the place. very busy and not sure I would get a take away coffee and a sandwich. Spoke the guy at the counter who gave me the takeaway menu orders an americano and a bacon butty. After a short wait the sandwich was handed to me in a paper carrier bag so I could head back to my work location. The sandwich was nicely cooked well wrapped in foil and still hot coffee was nice and strong. It ticked all the box’s and being busy tells me that it’s a good place to go and eat. Spied the display of cakes which looked impressive so next time it’s a sit down coffee and cake.

Not a comfy atmosphere, the two young girls who were bringing out coffees absolutely stank of strong perfume. As an asthmatic this is not ideal at all, no need for it. Tiniest cups for the coffee, smallest cup ever had and I go to many many coffee shops all over. Nothing special

Called in for a family breakfast lovely place dog friendly. Food was excellent very tasty plenty of choice and reasonably priced. It was very busy but the staff were excellent. Needs to be bigger

Arrived at brunch time 11.45ish and the que was very long expected as it’s a very popular coffee house in the area, a kind young lady seated us fairly quickly and then told us to line up and order for our food and drinks (so no table service) the 3 of us all went to order and as we stood in the que a group of people came in and tried to sit at our table and we kept having to tell people we were sat there , should be table service really as the que can get so long it’s out the door and people coming in think the “empty table” is free , very strange way to run a cafe. No salt and pepper shakers comes in a little bowl that you have to pick up with your fingers very unhygienic !! The two girls serving were not communicating and didn’t have very good customer service skills at all, the lady behind the counter taking order was really friendly and welcoming Please change to table service or QR codes where you order on your phone because your system right now is a mess and your staff need to actually communicate with each other , or get signs for your tables saying taken so when a group gets up to order the table is clearly marked as taken Pros; Food and drinks and presentation amazing , great unique menu. would still return but needs these improvements and would be 5* coffee house

Excellent breakfast. Plenty of choice portions are great very tasty different food. Staff ver helpful and cakes to die for well done excellent service and food

Went on Saturday for brunch. There was a wait which is expected but because inside is small we were asked to wait outside. It was totally understandable, but it was cold. They could do with a cover and some heaters. People would probably be more likely to eat outside as well. We did order a coffee whilst we were waiting and were given the menu. It was about 30 mins and we got seated but the coffee hadn't even arrived by then. To say we had the menu, we then had to wait quite a while for our order to be taken. The process could be speeded up, allowing less waiting time. The staff were lovely though. The Easter special, breakfast hotcross bun was delicious by all accounts. The breakfast was nice, but the toast came dry, and the potatoes tasted like they'd be cooked previously and just warmed up. Overall, it was ok, but the slowness of everything is too frustrating to visit regularly.
