Gluttons For Nourishment in Wolverhampton

Visited gluttons with a friend for a catch up along with our 2 babies. We checked bookings prior to visiting and there were plenty of times available online so decided not to book. On arrival we were told that they don’t usually accept walk ins of more than 2 people. They eventually seated us even though we were 2 with a newborn and an infant in a high chair We ordered 2 coffees, pancakes & a sandwich and I would say food was average. Nothing really screamed out on the menu and choices were few and far between to choose from. We waited ages for our drinks too. We our food coming our before our coffees. Can’t say I would rush to come back, the whole place is looking a bit tired too and could do with a refurb. Not the gluttons it used to be in my opinion but the afternoon teas did look incredible.

Overall food was good and they cater for gluten free which was a bonus. Lovely cafe in a nice location

Eat here on regular basis the service today was slow and unnatentive had to call staff over to take order. Staff did not seem interested in serving and asking if we needed anything else seemed to busy chatting amongst themselves we had to go to counter to request the bill not a good experience

Great cafe with good selection of beverages, home made cakes and food. Does get very busy so would perhaps be best to book a table in advance.

My mom and me went for afternoon tea here today - all I can say is it was fantastic and delicious! I am vegan and they were so accommodating, this is the best vegan afternoon tea I have ever had, I felt so looked after! My mom’s looked amazing too! Fantastic service and amazing food! Would highly recommend this to anyone - especially any vegans looking for afternoon tea! I had my first scone in 8 years since being vegan it was fabulous! Thank you!

We had the VIP afternoon tea and it was better than thr Ritz or Savoy in London which is 3 x more expensive , this place is stunningly good, fresh food and drink and the staff are fantastic totally recommend 110%

My friend and I had a superb afternoon tea here on a Friday lunchtime. It was very busy but service was great and attentive and the food was fantastic. It’s not cheap but worth it for a treat. The toilets let it down a bit.

Today, I visited Gluttons for the first time with my six-year-old son, eager to indulge in the experience. However, our initial encounter with an Asian staff member left much to be desired. Despite our polite inquiry about waiting for a table, her response was curt and dismissive, making us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. As we patiently waited, another couple arrived and was greeted by a different, much more courteous staff member who handled their request with professionalism and kindness. Unfortunately, the service provided by the first staff member was consistently rude and unprofessional. Such behavior detracts from the overall experience and reflects poorly on the establishment. Effective customer service is paramount in any hospitality setting, and instances like these tarnish the reputation of Gluttons.

Just having moved to the village we visited on Saturday morning, lots of empty tables outside and three empty inside. Stood by the "wait to be seated sign" and were ignored by passing staff. Eventually one asked if she could help. When we asked for a table the response was " we are full" Staff were were not friendly or welcoming, never saw a smile in the time we were there. Food being served looked well presented but cafe lacked any atmosphere. We went round the corner instead to a little Italian place where we received a fabulous warm welcome and enjoyed a delicious meal - guess where we will be eating in future.

Really poor service! Went on 10.02.24 at 4:30, and the staff refused to serve saying "we are short of staff" ! They were open till 5 and had another 30 mins of business to do but it was clear that the staff didn't want to put work in, there were 4 staff members standing behind the counter and chatting and 3 in the kitchen, hardly any customers but they still refused us from the door saying we are about to shut in 30 mins and short of staff! I felt the need to write this review and make the owner aware that how their staff is effective their business negatively.

We had a business buffet lunch for our staff- we had the 'Afternoon Tea' style buffet- it was absolutely excellent and the team at Gluttons could not have been more helpful- we have a couple of staff with dietary retirements and their food was also excellent. We world definitely recommend and we will be using again. Thank you Gluttons

had lunch at gluttons i had a prawn sandwich on granary bread and a side order of parminter potatoes my wife had a panini after a wait of about 40 mins the food came out no potatoes the girl waitress apoligised and informed us the kitchen had forgotten no major issue had them taken off the bill tucked into my sandwich after i ate a triangle i could not eat the sandwich the prawns had not been drained correctly so when the mayo had been added it made the bread like slop a poor expierience when we went to pay my wife complained about the sandwich the girl said she would inform the kitchen no apology very dissapointing wont be back

Great place for coffee and a quick catch up. Quaint, clean and welcoming staff. Tempting cakes too. Great start to any morning. Will return to have food when more time allows.

The best afternoon tea 🫖 Gluttons in tettenhall village has to be hands down the best afternoon tea… This quaint little tea shop screams delicious. The fresh sandwiches with an array of fillings and the most perfect scones you can have! The service is hearty and warm, I’m probably biased as I’m a true wolves by heart. But if you haven’t tried this place… you need to!

Visited midweek one afternoon, it was not busy and only wanted tea and coffee. Whilst the tea and coffee were fine the staffing was a different matter. It was very clear the 3 staff wanted to close early because they did not have many customers, we put up with staff sweeping up under our feet whilst trying to have a conversation. The intrusion continued with one staff member arriving with the bill (not requested), along with card reader in hand, hovering around the table. The above actions were rude to say the least! If you want to close early say you are closing rather than take someone’s money and then hurry them along, or let two staff leave early and keep one behind until the customers are finished. Overall a real shame, nice place, good product let down by poor customer service and rudeness,

Great scone, but I went there from Rome, for a lovely English tea time, with sandwiches and cakes, but they tell me that at 4pm they could not serve it to me. . .

I'd booked an afternoon tea for my family on the 29th of December. Sadly, my mother had a heart attack, and she had hous to live. so naturally, I was by her side. I was told by Gluttons that I can't move dates and that I will lose my deposit. No care whatsoever. You'll never ever get any of my money ever again.

I do love this place but you have to book to go. Its always busy and service can be less at times service staff don't smile. Forget milk with tea. Water you've asked for because busy. But lovely food. Been many times.

Called in for breakfast and asked what was the quickest as only had 25 minutes before we had to leave. Advised scrambled eggs on toast, had a side serving of bacon and mushrooms. Customer came in after and ordered poached eggs on toast. His arrived while we was still waiting. Couldn't wait any longer and had to ask for it to be boxed up to be took away (hadn't even got take out cutlery). Used this place many times before and really disappointed in service. Also rang in past to either book a table or take away, no one answers phone and actually stood outside shop while called and seen girls at counter ignoring the call and just chatting away.

Came here for afternoon tea, £25pp. Honestly do not waste your money. It was not worth it at all. I remember this place having a good atmosphere. We were told the coffee shop was going to be really busy. It was not, so many empty tables, as we wanted to add people to the afternoon tea. Tables are cramped and you can hardly put stuff on the table. On top of that one of the waitresses thought we hadn’t paid and ran after us out the shop!! Please check first before you start accusing! Will not be returning.

Updated again in 2023 Visited again - no regrets at all. From service to food - on point Thank you all The great thanks to the staffs. They are very polite and very friendly. The place is always busy so try to prebook to avoid disappointment or walk and see if you are nearby. Don’t miss the Egg Royale. Very reasonable prices and fulfilling. They have done a pretty good job to the space they have. All is good nothing to complain about. Try it out.

Lovely Christmas Afternoon Tea with my Mom and Sister in Law on 11.12.23. Lovely hot and cold selection of food, generous helpings of homemade cakes and endless drinks ( hot/cold) and mulled wine on offer too. Christmas crackers on the table which kept us amused too 😁 Attentive friendly staff who didn’t keep bothering us but were there if we needed anything more. Just wish there had been a little low Christmas music to add to the experience. However, we had a lovely afternoon and will be calling in again soon. Thank you all x

Overpriced and pretentious. Went in with my partner, ordered all day breakfast items. Waiting staff, young, immature and disingenuous. Two waitresses between them couldn't get the order right, then attempted to give me my breakfast before the cereal starter? She tried to cover up her own inefficiency by saying she didn't take the initial order when she did, and went off in a sulk! Food is good, but as stated vastly overpriced.

5 of us went on Saturday morning had a great breakfast absolutely fabulous 2 bacon 2 eggs 2 sausage 2large mushrooms 2 tomatoes 2 toast 2 toast and a pot of beans all for a tenner Everything on the plate was so tasty cooked with perfection 🥰

Awful service. Took an hour for 2 breakfasts to arrive. We had to ask where they were. Were told there was only 1 chef instead of the usual 2 and that they were busy. (I have seen it much busier) It would have been good to have been told that there would be an hour wait before we ordered. Personally I would have offered a free drink as an apology but we ate breakfast without any drinks as I refused to spend any more money on such awful service. I have used Gluttons on numerous occasions but this would stop me from returning anytime soon. ☹️

My wife took me here for breakfast and it was amazing. We've been here quite a few times but only once or twice since Covid and I'm please to say that the quality or service hasn't dropped since. The service was exceptional with friendly, helpful waitresses that smiled and really looked after us and the food was exceptional. I would fully expect to pay much more than £10 for a full English breakfast at a place like this so I was amazed at how big the plate was and how good the quality of the food was. Such a nice touch to have little roast potato type things rather than your standard has browns from the freezer. I would recommend Gluttens, it's fab

Probably the best and most consistent tea shop/cafe in Tettenhall. You definitely need to book in advance to be assured of a table at busy times and days.

Sunday breakfast and the restaurant was quiet. Ordered eggs benedict. The eyes were over poached, but that was easily done. The muffins were hard and really dry like they were days old, and the sauce was really thick and had light or no taste.

A lovely gem of a tea shop. We were on our way to the garden centres on Bridgnorth Road, but decided to stop here for a late brunch. One of the best eggs Benedict I have ever had and my friend really enjoyed her club sandwich. It was as good as the one I had in cafe marly, in Paris, next to the louvre, last week, on a break there. Absolutely incredible! If there was a sixth star, Gluttons would earn it! Service was great, the baristas make great coffee, food was delicious! Staff are all very welcoming and lovely! Not sure if there’s any room for improvement, it was by far the best experience I’ve had in a cafe. Looking around the shop, there are families and friends having afternoon tea that looks to die for! Definitely recommend anyone passing through Tettenhall Village to take an hour out of their day to stop by the cafe, you won’t be disappointed.
