Wow is all I can say. I was booked in at Glewstone Court for an Afternoon Tea with my children. The whole experience was wonderful and we cannot recommend it enough. On arrival, we were welcomed by a immaculate young man, Sam- he couldn't have been more helpful. We were shown to our seats and Sam went out of his way to ensure my children were happy and had the drinks they wanted. The drinks came quickly, served by a very friendly waitress and we began. Initially, it looked as if we were going to be able to finish everything- we didn't! We started with scrumptious soft sandwiches, homemade sausage rolls and quiche. Honestly, the sausage rolls were delicious and the quiche was a perfect size. We paused for tea and coffee then moved onto the cakes and mini-puds........ My youngest is totally in love with the Rhubarb Macrons and could have eaten many more! The cakes are all made on site and the homemade lemon posset was so more-ish. We had a Paris Brest pastry- I've never had one of those before but I'll be looking out for those again. The warm scones were delicious and there was plenty of clotted cream and jam for us to all share. You could tell instantly they were freshly made. In the end, we needed to take some home in a box as we were full to the brim. We met the owner at the bar, who was delightful, friendly and had a little chat with my daughter's toy cat, much to her delight! The staff there were so kind, cheerful and helpful, the whole place had a really warm and welcoming feel. We didn't feel rushed at all- we stayed all afternoon. Glewstone is just outside of Ross and wasn't somewhere that was on my radar to eat- but I will certainly be returning. I spent my Mothering Sunday in a Georgian Manor House eating delicious food with my family- perfect!

We planned a family meal as we hadn't be able to all get together for a long time due to covid. We were recommended to try the Cedar Tree Restaurant at Glewstone Court and were not disappointed. As there was 7 of us we were put in the Bistro, which is a private dining room. This was perfect as we could be ourselves without being too load for other guests. We all ordered a variety of meals from the menu and we not disappointed. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was great too, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning, thank you for making our long awaited get together a very special evening.

Staff were really helpful and friendly and offered some things not on the menu for our small child. outside little garden area was good to move out to when the sun came out so we could finish up lunch out there. The Cedar Tree at Glewstone Court is by far one of the best restaurants we have been too. The entire property is beautifully decorated. From the minute you walk into the hotel, you are warmly welcomed by Sam, The General Manager or one of his staff. The ambience is always wonderful and my 40th birthday meal with close friends was no different. The food was incredible once again and the wine that Sam recommended to us was perfect. Our friends who equally enjoy the finer things in life commented on it being one of the best places they have eaten at. Service was fantastic and the whole evening perfect in every way! We are so fortunate to have such a quality establishment on our doorstep! Thanks guys

We visited for our second time. Our first time we had the taster menu which was fantastic. Today we had the afternoon tea and the service from the staff was brilliant, the food let our experience down. The food was slightly on the bland side and the scones were quite dry. Didn't seem like they were freshly made. The coffee was nice. Overall a nice atmosphere but the food was lacking. Would recommend for the taster menu however.

What a fantastic experience. I have tried many establishments around the area and this one is leaps and bounds above anything for miles. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly from the moment I walked in. The most difficult task was choosing from the fascinating and variant menu. After much pondering I opted for the Camembert to start followed by the chateaubriand for the main course. Both cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. The chateaubriand was the best I’ve ever had and was cooked just the way I asked for it to be which was medium rare. All in all it was a 5 star experience I look forward to returning soon to sample there ever changing local seasonal menu.

Excellent. A good, if not extensive, menu with imaginative mixes of flavours. Everything well cooked and nicely presented. Very nice to see a chef who cooks beef to a good pink level. Good sized portions, which is nice. Just watch out for very hot gravy boats - we had to us knife and fork to turn them over as to hot to handle. Good efficient and friendly staff. Excellent, well-priced wine list (try the Elysian Black Muscat dessert wine - it’s lovely).

We visited Glewstone Court with some friends who are in a Covid 'high-risk' category and so were understandably nervous. We noticed that the venue is AA Covid accredited and the standards and procedures in place completely underpinned this. We heard that the new Chef was excellent and yet the meal still exceeded our expectations. The scallop ceviche was sublime and superbly complemented by the jalapeno sorbet. My wife and I shared a Chateaubriand, possibly the best I have ever tasted, perfectly cooked. Usually I do not order dessert but the first two courses were so good I opted for the cheesecake which rounded off a perfect meal and I speak for all four of us. Service from Sam and his team was outstanding and we felt completely safe at all times. Well done and full marks to the team and I look forward to returning very soon.

Lovely setting and building though Covid precautions a little lax. We ordered starters for lunch and depending on the quality and quantity decided whether to have mains. It took 45 minutes for the starter to arrive and though the presentation was quite pleasant but the food was poor and bland, my wife had a tasteless fishcake with a cold poached egg and I had Guineau fowl breast hopelessly overcooked.

Went for an evening meal in a group. The hotel is lovely and the staff were efficient and courteous. The food however was truly disappointing . Whilst everything was well presented, the portions were small and hugely lacking in terms of flavour. The seafood ravioli was a single piece of ravioli floating in a tasteless clear broth with a piece of bok Choi and rock hard broad beans. Inedible. The main was one mini stalk of asparagus about two inches long, a tiny piece of broccoli, one shaped potato, one mini carrot and a boiled? chicken breast with a small jug of a light green watery substance - maybe a bit of the vegetable water?Horribly expensive and very poor value for money. Couldn’t recommend.

Having decided to take our 1st few tentative steps back into the real world post lockdown we booked a last minute weekend break to symonds yat (stayed at the old court hotel which was a great bargain). I literally just googled somewhere for dinner and saw glewstone Hotel was just down the road so we took a punt and booked a table.I have to say they exceeded expectations. The service was exemplary. Could not find a fault, they were attentive and swift but not overbearing. Food was great. Couple of things if we were being super picky for the price (starter slightly overcooked) but all forgiven because it was only their second night open post lockdown and they were still trialling the new regime. All in all we had a great night, we felt very well looked after, completely safe and the ambience was great. Well done to the staff who really were excellent.

From the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted by Sam the Manager. The bar area was inviting and cosy which was much needed on a cold wet night. After aperitifs we went through to the dining room with an ambience that mirrored that of the bar. The menu had a great range of dishes. Wine list was extensive. Service continued to be exceptional. The food was absolutely delicious for each and every course. After dining, we went through to the lounge area where we relaxed in leather wingbacks by the roaring fire to have a nightcap. Hidden gem only a couple of miles from home. Faultless evening. We will definitely be back

I visited today for the 4 course tasting menu. On arrival we were made to feel extremely welcome by Sam and the service we received from him throughout our visit was absolutely first class. Each course of our meal was excellent, and by far the best meal we’ve had out in some time. In particular I loved the squid ink macaroon canapé to start; the sweet and salty combination certainly got my tastebuds ready for the wonderful flavour combinations that followed. The warm chocolate mousse and raspberry soufflé will also remain ingrained in my memory for a while! I loved the modern country style decor and open fire / log burner too. From the first warm welcome, this was a wonderful experience. Relaxing first with a G&T; in the comfortable country house lounge, we were taken into the dining room for excellent cuisine. We were delighted to be given a gift voucher for Afternoon Tea , as we had previously enjoyed very good meals here with friends. However, without being ungrateful, we were disappointed! I am old fashioned and expect a table cloth, nice china and delicate sandwiches when taking Tea. The service was friendly and helpful enough, two tea bags in the first pot, then only one in the warm up, very thick sandwiches, although a good selection. We were told everything was freshly made, indeed the scones were warm. There was certainly a large amount of food, but when we asked for a “doggie bag” the cakes were just handed over wrapped in cling film and consequently very squashed when they reached home, only 5 minutes away! Sorry, Glewstone with all the competition around, you need to up your game on this.

The waitress was very friendly and our food and choice of drinks brought promptly. There was an abundance of tasty food including various savoury pastry bites, sandwiches, plain and raisin scones, Victoria sponge and rhubarb trifles. The standard was generally high, the only negative points were disappointing scones and egg being the only non meat sandwich filling provided for the 2 vegetarian teas we'd requested. We were able to have a fresh pot of tea and take home the leftover cakes and scones when we'd admitted defeat! Overall a lovely way to spend a birthday!

Haven't stayed there, but went for lunch recently. Comfortable lounges for pre lunch drinks, and open firse, and very attentive staff. Food was excellent, right portion sizes for lunch and nicely presented. Good value and recommended.

You're greeted by a floor manager and sit in nice armchairs with some drinks, enjoying "compliments from chef" while they prepare a table for you. Straight away there is an impression of a solid, prestigious place, so the expectations are set high.

We took advantage of the special travelzoo deal of tasting meal for 2 with bubbly, and checked that the restaurant allowed us to bring our dog with us. We were given special seating by the window (in the end we felt very special having the...

Made to feel very welcome by the owners. Fabulous tasting menu with great flavours and well presented. Well worth the £45. Dress very smartly. Got a bit too noisy as the night went on as there was also wine pairing and felt the wine merchant...

Not a meal to remember. The fish was not very tasty with the herb crust soft. Served as with all the other mains with roast pots and roast parsnip. Not right for fish. New pots would have been better. Not a lot of thought had...

Wanting something special for fathers day, we thought we'd try Glewstone. Lunch was very good and, had we booked for slightly earlier would undoubtedly have been even better. Food delivery and presentation was good, as was the service. Ambience was good and it was lovely to be seated in an elegant dining room which did not feel too ostentatious. That said, it was a little on the pricy side.

We travelled from the West Midlands to meet a friend from Wales and we had booked lunch at this hotel as a meeting point. We arrived early and were invited to sit in the comfortable sitting room and had drinks whilst we waited for our friend. The meal was superb. The staff were warm and welcoming and looked after us very well.. We retired back to the sitting room for coffee/tea and stayed comfortably chatting for hours. At no time did we feel encouraged to leave or that we had outstayed our welcome. Only the distance to travel home prevented us from staying for dinner. We look forward to booking in here for an overnight stay in the near future. Thank you all for an extremely pleasant day.

We were staying on the Malvern View Country and Leisure Park for a weekend stay which we could not fault. However, we dined at The Old Barnhouse on the Saturday evening and unfortunately the food was terrible. We waited for nearly an hour and when the food arrived it was half cold. My mother and father had scampi and chips, no peas and they were out of tartare sauce! My sister and I had the New Yorker chicken which consisted of a huge portion of coleslaw that wasn’t very nice and the chicken was small and if poor quality. My daughter had a kids pizza, chips and beans which was just about acceptable. The five meals and a round of drinks came to over £80 which was appalling for the quality of the food. Avoid The Old Barnhouse for food! Pleasant enough for a drink.

Rude, extremely disappointing, shocking and disrespectful staff! We arrived after making a booking the day before. I booked 2 Adults, 1 child aged 2. The booking itself was pleasant. We got slightly lost, rang in and again very pleasant. Arrived 7 minutes late and walked into a very ‘local’ pub feel. All eyes on us. We were told by the bar person that they were glad we found them. A woman appeared and looked at my Grandson and commented ‘we don’t have highchairs’ I commented that I’d booked ahead with a child on the booking? She said she would go down in the cellar and dust something suitable to bring up then asked me if I had a chair in my car???!!!! We approached the bar and I said I was confused as I’d booked a child ahead of coming. I was ignored, I said once again and the younger woman behind the bar looked at me and in a slightly raised voice utttered ‘well, yes she’s gone to get you something hasn’t she!!’ Based on this experience I told my Friend we were leaving as being treated like this was way beyond acceptable. I wasn’t happy and I let it be known! My Friend and I were left shocked and felt we had been treated appallingly by 2 extremely rude women. Whilst we were putting my Grandson in the car the older women came out and further patronised us with her offering of a dusted off cellar chair and we told her that her colleague was vile and it had gone beyond the chair. She walked off. Having read through the reviews I can see hands have changed and so this may be why I didn’t receive the reputation I had heard of. I have the feeling they felt they were above us! I’m not easily impressed so their Morgan cars and gold large Baroque chairs only further deepens my suspicions that they think they’re better 🤣🤣

Beautiful scenic spot, absolutely stunning. Dog friendly. Food was amazing and atmosphere good too. Boat was running as water was too high but didn’t matter to us!
