Went here for a nice little coffee. Was served by a youngster called Dylan who dropped it all over the table. What a silly sausage. The cafe itself stunk, the surrounding houses smelled of sewage. The north of puddington smells worse than the south. It's really not worth the pain. Stay well away

We have visited this cafe several times. It is very well run by a charity at a very rural location. The building itself is very well maintained and is nice and warm inside. The food is simple but wholesome with Homemade soup and a sandwich being a particular favourite on a cold winters morning. Plenty of other choice including Baked Potatoes and Homemade Tray bakes. The staff are always welcoming, although service is a bit slow, this can be forgiven for the quality of the food.Give it a try located about 2 miles off the A540 off Puddington Lane just before the village centre.Happy Eating

I have been several times and the staff are always really helpful. The cakes are delicious and breakfasts/lunches are great. I think the room, particularly the tables and chairs, could be made a little more appealing.

This is a cute little cafe in a very pretty village. Perfect for walkers & cyclists. Great range of really lovely homemade cakes. Fabulous friendly staff. Really good that it’s a GIFT cafe so profits go back into the community. A little gem of a place

Visited this café today on a bike ride. Very slow service we got our drinks ages before our lunch so by the time our lunch arrived our drinks were cold. Sandwich was ok but hardly any salad with it.

We were en route to Village of Puddington - and there it was - a lovely cafe in deepest rural Wirrall - with the best loose leaf tea, biggest tea cake, and excellent coffee. No wonder my relatives wanted to live nearby. Well done and keep it going.

Absolutely love it here. The sandwiches and cakes are lovely. They do a very nice caramel latte! It's good value for money! It's dog friendly (They even sell doggy ice cream) All the staff are so pleasant and friendly. AND the profits go to charity. I definitely recommend this place!!

I happened across this place by accident and stopped for a cake and coffee. it turned out to be a good find, lovely little peaceful coffee shop, not many other patrons and the staff were very friendly. The cake and coffee were great too.

We had been a few months ago as part of a large group of 30 or so (arranged in advance) and whilst not a large establishment in terms of staff and table we had been well looked after. A drop of a hat decision to visit today for a light lunch and tea and all was well with the world – charming staff, polite fellow customers, peaceful location. This is not a sophisticated eatery although if you wish you can book in advance for the gamekeepers high tea, but no stress, no hassle, clean and pleasant.

Lovely sunny Sunday morning, this place have Gardner’s working, petrol lawnmower and strimmer noise is a disgrace gave it another go in the afternoon still the same. If you are looking for noise free time avoid this place

We had been before (when they ran out of food) and it is a quirky restaurant near Puddington and suitable for walks, notably to Shotwick. Parking is limited in restaurant but available nearby. On the second visit we booked for a walking group with times, numbers and everything. Things went wrong from the start and the weather was appalling, but when we arrived back at the café at our appointed time our reserved tables were not done so we could not sit together and we were told there was no, bacon, sausage etc. as there had been a previous early order and none left, and breakfast had finished in any case! The somebody was served with a sausage toastie. Apparently that was the last one!

Noticed a sign on the A540 close to the junction with Puddington Lane on the Wirral promoting a cafe in Puddington. Took a diversion and came across The Gift Cafe. A not for profit establishment providing good quality simple food at sensible prices.

Visited this café last week on a bike ride. It is in a lovely setting down a country lane though I thought a little remote. Nearly missed the turning a bit more signage would be helpful. Made very welcome by the lady serving. Good choice on the menu just had a coffee this time. Will be back.

We have eaten here a few times now with our little dog, staff very friendly, there are obvious signs about the parking with a tablet at the bar to enter your reg number, the pin is displayed next to this. Good range of food quickly served, twice when we came they were recovering from disastrous floods so the menu was slightly limited, the food was still good though. Lovely setting to sit out by the river and regular entertainment at weekends. Keep it up Red Lion!

My visit was for a lunch with friends. The pub was their local but not one they frequented but it was convenient. My visit was memorable for all the right reasons. I was welcomed at the bar with smiles and I explained that one of the party has allergies. The checking of ingredients was really thorough, the food came and it was hot, freshly cooked and delicious. I appreciated all the effort that went in to ensure me and my party had a great time. Totally worthy of recommendation and return visits.

Stumbled on this cafe during a weekend in Chester. Great coffee and cakes very reasonably priced. Couldn't understand why people were passing it by to go to Costa in the Tesco next door.

Lovely coffee and hot chocolate. Staff very friendly and polite. I always prefer the coffee in Starbucks to Costa coffee just a personal preference.
