German Doner Kebab in Portsmouth

Lovely staff (young lady 3rd may afternoon) and great taste ♥️

It was a great experience at German Donner Kebab. We were served by a lovely lady, Thilini and the food was absolutely delicious! I would definitely recommend it to others.

Excellent kebab, the original coming from Europe/Berlin. This is the only place in Portsmouth they make it appropiately.

AVOID THIS PLACE There is a clear reason why when you enter that the place is empty. The food is passable, that's if they get your order right that is. Portions are very small, never bother with any "extra option". it's as if they completely disregard it. The customer service is horrendous. Specifically the woman in her 30's I believe called "saima" (what my receipt read). I had to pause mid ordering to genuinely check if she was a cast member on a reality show known as "Be the most miserable woman alive!". Firstly she shouts as I approach the counter to "order at kiosk", I say I'm using cash and she sighs loudly. After a tense order exchange I am owed 8 pence in change and...she keeps it. It's only 8 pence I know, but who really is going to say "where's my 8p?", especially after such a miserable interaction. But just imagine how often she or perhaps the business as a whole do this, im sure it adds up! She then puts my food on the front table and turns away. Thankfully she isn't the one cooking! A horrible, horrible experience. I understand why this place is empty now. May it forever stay empty and either fix its ways or close down. TAKE MY ADVICE! Go to DONER ONE just southwards down the hughstreet. Food is better, prices better, customer service is great and you will feel welcome.

Staff were very friendly, portion size was mwah, food doesn’t take that long like 7-8 minutes wait. 5 minutes if quiet. 10/10

Food was amazing, large portions and worth the money. Great customer service too, our server Thilini made sure we enjoyed our meal and was always at the front and quickly helped.

Compared to all the restaurants around Commercial road, I have found GDK to be my favourite. Thilini At GDK welcomed us warmly, she has took me and my fellow friends orders, and made sure we were all happy and well. Great, quick service with a hig quality fresh food

First time eating at GDK and it was great, our server could tell it was our first time coming here and was extremely accommodating towards us and made us feel very welcome, even had the curiosity to ask how everything was and went the extra mile to make sure it was enjoyable, on to the food, it’s affordable and tastes great would definitely come back again!

I went in for my first time and the staff were incredibly helpful and polite. It was easy to order on the self serve screens. The food was very reasonably priced and it tasted incredible. I highly recommend the spring rolls and garlic sauce.

I ordered a collection today and went to pick it up. Thankfully your staff made me wait inside there for 25 mins and prepared all the online orders that come from food delivery companies. I was just being told next is yours next is yours for every 5 mins like a joke. I just wanted to walk out for the food I already paid for. After I received my food it was only vegetables and so small amount of Beef inside than usual. If you don't know how to run a business don't do it, if you do how then give the value of the money that you take..

Seen some good reviews and decided to try Very quiet in the shop at lunchtime Bought 2 Donner Boxes salad and chips got home and not happy with the quality. Meat was thin and crispy and dry and chips bottom of the box very greasy and lukewarm.

10 minutes been waiting to place my order with 0 customers in front of me. 15 minutes been waiting to collect my order of 1 quesadilla. 25 min waiting In branch with 2 customers. Staff to busy to do deliveries and not worry about people inside

I was hungry after my today's lectures so one of my friends suggest me this place (GDK) and i went today to try their food, when i visited i was confused what to order so the one taking the order named SAM suggest me some kebabs and offers and after he gave options i can easily decide what to order. Such a good and warm hospitality by him and the team. I ordered veggie kebab which he suggested and customised a little for me and it was fabulous. This kebab place is now one of my favourite to eat. The food is amazing and the service provided was also so welcoming. I loved the place and food. Thank you Sam and the team..

Sam was running the place, serving and training a new starter in the kitchen at the same time. Place was impeccably clean and tidy. A credit to the company. Could have done with a bit more sauce on the food, but that's on me for not checking before I left. Will be back on my next visit to Portsmouth.
