Was given a non vegan option when vegan was specified. Me and my partner have now eaten cheese for the first time in years. It seemed like the bartender was new but when I approached them about it the bar manager and tender seemed to then just have an argument. I also requested a slight adjustment, chips instead of ciabatta, which the bar-manager then said that chips were more substantial and so the change couldn’t be made, although they are priced the same on the menu. Maybe just caught them on a busy day, but the service was awful for the price. We were offered no real condolences apart from a verbal sorry, but a free drink or discount would’ve been enough to rectify the ordeal.

One of the Vintage Inn groups pub/restaurants by the river aire. The pub has undergone a number of renovations through the years and would probably enjoy a lick of paint. The Sunday roast was nice, but the roast potatoes and parsnip were only lukewarm on arrival at the table. The sirloin, however, was delicious. The lower star ratings are based on the physical appearance of the premises.

Siempre ha sido hermoso hoy nos atendió Luke un camarero muy inteligente y bien presentado que recomendó el pastel de estado. Tuvimos un paté de hígado de pollo para empezar y luego el pastel estaba impecable muy delicioso y recién cocinado con verduras encantadoras y muy bien presentado de vuelta al encantador Luke. Gracias. Lo hiciste muy especial para mi hermana y yo para disfrutar de un almuerzo encantador y un ambiente encantador sin duda volveremos. Gracias de nuevo.

Well if your gonna say you are serving fluffed roast potatoes then you should. Chefs mistake to cook the rost potatoes early and reheat for service. Not a good plan. They had that cold potato taste and texture. Other to that the 3 meat roast was good. Crumble is cheap put more!

I had the triple meat roast today. The staff were welcoming enough and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. The roast lunch was OK nothing special but the roast potatoes were awful, they were not crispy and I could tell they were cooked much earlier and reheated. The potatoes were not hoti and I did not eat them. I was disappointed as i was looking forward to crispy potatoes, perhaps it was a one off. Everything else was good. The fruit crumble was a bit tart and the crumble was scanty please use more crumble. Hopefully, things will be improved upon.

I had a dine out card bought for my 70th birthday and my husband and decided to use it at the George and Dragon. Ordered Prawn Cocktail and the avocado was brown which was off putting. I ordered the pie and the pastry wasn’t cooked and the sauce of the filling was watery. I couldn’t eat it and explained to the waitress. I was offered a pudding but didn’t want one. We spent over £80 and all I had was half a starter! A total disappointment for a special birthday!

We love coming here for birthday meals because there’s something for everyone- even the fussiest eater of the family! Food is always delish and very reasonably priced. Great drinks selection, lots of spirit flavours to pick from which is very refreshing. Staff are super friendly- we were served today by Jonny, Sophie, and Sarah, and they were wonderful. We don’t live very close at all but we always make the hour trip just to come here because it’s just that good🌟

Pedimos pescado con papas fritas, hamburguesa de pollo y pizza. Apenas había pescado, principalmente rebozado. La pizza era extremadamente delgada, seca con muy poco tomate o queso. La hamburguesa de pollo estaba buena. Tardamos mucho tiempo en limpiar nuestros platos, aunque estábamos sentados junto a la puerta de la cocina por donde pasaba el personal regularmente. Nos preguntaron si todo estaba bien y explicamos que no. El funcionario no se disculpó, pero dijo que se lo haría saber al chef. Declaramos y terminamos nuestras bebidas y nadie vino a vernos. Al pagar la cuenta en el bar nos preguntaron de nuevo y volvimos a transmitir nuestra experiencia, desafortunadamente ese miembro del personal no fue muy disculpado.

Celebrated my dad’s 80th here last night. Thank you so much. Service, food and atmosphere were 100 per cent. 20 of us, everyone enjoyed their food piping hot and delicious. Thank you for all your hard work making it very special 👍

Have come here for years, been meaning to leave a review for a while but after today’s meal I just had to. The food used to be hit and miss a few years back, but in the past couple of years I have never had a bad meal here the lamb is delicious and when they have the offers on it’s great value. The staff are great and it’s cosy when it’s an evening. Definitely doing something right! 5*

Just had christmas dinner at the george and dragon and could not fault it organisation was outstanding. No waiting to be seated, table was ready when we arrived. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Decorations were beautiful, very festive. Food was fantastic every course was the perfect size and just as described. Delicious. Can't thank the staff enough for making christmas day perfect. Will definitely be coming back next year

The staff were welcoming and friendly, the atmosphere was great and they allow dogs in the bar area, which as we have a new puppy was special to us. The food was wonderful.

Well had a meal with a group of 28 the service was excellent , the food well all I can say well impressed finally found a place where the chef knows what a "blue" steak is all about. Certainly will eat here again what an awesome atmosphere. Regads Mike

Fuimos con mi hermana necesitábamos un poco de ánimo así que fuimos por algo de comer, yo tenía el pastel de carne que era absolutamente delicioso y mi hermana tenía la ensalada de pollo que dos personas podrían haber compartido fácilmente. Luego seguido por el lío de Eton que sí compartimos y fue hermoso , sin duda volver de nuevo, además de que puede llevar a su perro también 😁

I have eaten in this pub 5 or 6 times and every single time the food, service and drinks were spot on. We've even turned up late on a Sunday afternoon without a booking and were squeezed in and fed with absolutely no fuss whatsoever. Cannot compliment the friendly and helpful staff enough in this place. I live on a canal boat and travel around so visits to the George and dragon have been many months apart at times and I still find the same great standards each time I return. Highly recommend.

Went for an evening meal after a day on the canal. Even though there was a wedding that same day, we got excellent service and the food was top notch.

My friend and I were on a narrowboat holiday and stopped off at Apperley Bridge; the George and Dragon was recommended to us by another friend and didn't disappoint! We ordered the beetroot arancini (excellent!!), vegan burger and penang curry and it was all very good. The staff were lovely, can't fault the service. It's a bit out of the way to be a regular for me, but next time I'm in Apperley Bridge I'll definitely be back!

Ooo ciervos lo que ha pasado con esta mesa reservada pub para 2 30 tiene que esperar hasta las 2 40 para la mesa nadie nos dijo que estaba lista la comida muy bien pero el personal corriendo por ahí como pollos sin cabeza sienten mucha pena por ellos parecía que iban a tener un ataque de nervios siento decir que no vamos a volver
