Food was great as always, Louise and Megan were especially lovely

Great service from Louise and the food was great except the Turkey gravy continues to be very fatty. Pub seemed quiet for a Sunday afternoon but I think people were sat outside enjoying the weather

Its nice pub with garden not far from Canal easy aces to gerden with push bike and car park with lot of spaces Pub looks nice toilets are clean 👍🏻 and I haven't tried food but beer taste good

A real pleasant visit, we arrived earlier than booked and staff seated us early. Very friendly staff and so welcoming. Had the Sunday turkey lunch which was absolutely gorgeous! Quick service, hot food and relaxing atmosphere, no children running around, although clearly a family pub it was much better than your Toby Carvery environment. Would definitely recommend!

Had Sunday lunch yesterday. I usually have an excellent experience but this time my roast beef dinner was only lukewarm and looked like it had been thrown onto the plate.

Went for lunch with my mum on a weekday, the pub had a few customers in, the restaurant was clean and welcoming and was really looking forward to some dinner. When ordering at the bar I found the woman who served me looked very unhappy in her job as she did not once crack a smile and her tone of voice sounded like she couldn’t be bothered . We ordered off the lunch time menu and ordered 2 garlic mushrooms and 2 steak and chips. The starter (Garlic mushrooms) was not pleasant at all they were salty and the cheese in them was so strong you couldn’t even taste the garlic and the slice of brown bread we got with it was stale. The steak was shocking and had a funny smell like it was off or not being stored properly in a fridge. The chips were soggy like they had been laying in the fryer for ages, the best part was the side salad only thing fresh. Would not go again very disappointed with the food and such a shame as the pub/restaurant it’s self is a beautiful and in a lovely location

Fabulous pub. It's huge with rooms leading off into other rooms either side of the bar. That might make you think it's impersonal and not your thing, but you can easily find a quiet spot, if that's you, or a buzzing corner. Food is really lovely, great menu and good quality. Staff are attentive and friendly, don't rush you and happily let you sit and chat without rushing you off. I went with a friend on a Friday lunchtime and we walked straight into a table without a reservation but you can easily make one if you prefer. Highly recommend the fishcakes!!

Really nice food and great service. There were three of us. We had garlic flat bread to start, sunday dinner, aubergine lasagna and fish and chips. Plus three puddings.

Very nice food with friends! We were sat in the beer garden and the sun was shining, unfortunately we kept getting a strong smell of blocked drains/rotten eggs? A few people commented & moved because of it. We would still like to come back again and try more food.

We had a meal this evening with my two sons. Ordered a children’s pizza for one of my sons and was shocked at how small it was! It was around the size of a slice and a half of an average sized pizza. It was the only meal on the children’s menu that didn’t come with a side, so my son was still very hungry and I’ve had to come home and cook him more food after eating out! I mentioned this when we were paying, as when I looked at the bill I realised they had charged £8.50 for basically a large slice of pizza! The waitress went and spoke to the manager, and she came back and said that they can’t serve it any bigger or with a side because of the salt content! I suggested that it should be cheaper then, as I really feel I have been ripped off at £8.50 for that, and her response was ‘I don’t really know what you want us to do’, so I said I would just pay the bill, leave a review and won’t come back, to which she said ok and took our money! We eat out fairly regularly and have never had a children’s meal that small anywhere else, and that price is actually the most I’ve paid for a kids meal. Very disappointing for the amount the meal cost us, we won’t be returning which is a shame as the adult meals were nice.

All good except bird poop on the tables outside, also no bigger tables outside for bigger groups.

We visit the George and Dragon on a regular basis …why ? The ambience is lovely always fresh flowers and candles. Very pet friendly which is very nice to see. Staff are great very accommodating , and service is excellent. And the most important bit, food consistently good, with the app you get lots of benefits. Very good service. Our 2 servers, Jess and Aimee were attentive and helpful. 1 of our party was in a motorised scooter and I had requested an accessible table. The one we were given couldn’t have been better. They offered help several times but not in a patronising manner ( which we sometimes experience)

We have just been in for Father’s Day, such a lovely atmosphere, the staff really are great. They’re friendly, and go above and beyond. The food is lovely as well. The only thing that lets it down is the women toilets. We come in often as we usually come for a drink after our dog walks, and the toilets just look like they need some TLC. ( door locks can be broken, skirting boards are never clean) But overall we really do enjoy coming to visit.

I was well welcomed by the staff who made sure i had a drink. Myself and my family were then taken to our table. The food was lovely, i had the lasagne. The staff regularly checked whether everything was okay. I will definitely go back.

Excellent service from start to finish!

Visiting on a Monday afternoon but there were quite a few customers, not too many. A nice atmosphere for this day of the week. Food was really tasty. We both had calamari which was really good and I had the chicken bacon and avocado salad which was again really good. Guinness was available so we were both happy! A big pub with some cool history of the area

Just popped in after a walk along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal for a cheeky pint and decided to try the Roast Sunday Lunch. Service was friendly, helpful and incredibly fast. Our starter just about followed us from the bar after ordering. Lunch followed respectfully after we finished the starter and was plentiful tasty and hot from the kitchen. Recommend a visit and maybe see you there, as we'll be back. Bring an appetite as you'll need it.

Had a great late lunch today. Place was quiet as it was past 3pm so the ‘atmosphere’ was subdued, but great to be able to chat in private. 2 courses (fixed price) lunch where both courses served promptly but cooked fresh. Main courses were hot. Portions adequate, in fact, 2 course lunch is filling! Food enjoyable, beer refreshing. Jess, our server, was attentive & friendly

Great experience and staff were lovely. Would recommend and most likely will be coming again. Only thing is that the sticky toffee pudding was cold when it came out. But other than that it was great.

Celebrated a friend's birthday with a group of 7 of us. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meals and occasion enhanced by the very friendly and accommodating staff. A comfortable and enjoyable place now becoming our port of call.

Food very good. Service very good .Poor atmosphere really. No background music and could here conversations from several tables away. A bit like sitting in a doctors waiting room.Thank God I wasn't dining alone!!!
